Would not recommend this waffle house to my worst enemy. To start, they gave us our water in dirty cups. then when we received the first half of our cold food, we couldn't eat it because we had no utensils. after waiting about 10 minutes for our waitress who continuously ignored us, despite making eye contact whenever we called for her, we had to get up and grab our own plastic utensils from the front of the restaurant. when we finally recieved the second half of our food, our waffles, they were not whole. like they were literally missing chunks. it tasted fine tho. 2/10

This is the closest location in the DMV. It's small but they really get you in and out. Downside is that it gets so crowded on the weekends and every time we come we almost always have a wait to be seated. Good thing is that it isn't a typically long wait.

The food as awsome as you can tell only left half for the photo lol..the service was fast the was a older women in her 60's helping us and she was quick and she even made our food I think this is the best Waffle House I ate all year ..will definitely recommend come here 10/10..

I had a decent experience at this Waffle House. My experience was more or less on par with other Waffle Houses (primarily in Hampton Roads, VA), which has been good, that I have visited over the years. Our waitress, Tammy, was pretty good with taking our orders and following up with us. Our food came out pretty fast, and it was everything that we expected. I wonder if this is a super popular Waffle House location in the Dumfries area. When we arrived around 11 am on a weekday, we were a bit surprised that pretty much all of the seats were occupied. Fortunately, for us, we managed to grab the last booth so we did not have to wait for seat. During our next road trip, we hope to visit this location again...especially since it's the closest one to us (even though it's about 30 miles away).

This is always a staple whenever we travel down the southern coast. This is basically fast food comfort food. There is limited seating but we were able to get a few seats at the counter which is totally fine with me. Service was excellent and our orders came out with minutes. It was borderline amazing. And the food wasn't just sitting around pre-made; I watched them prepare everything. Everything is fresh, waffles are very good and the price point can't be beat. Just remember to get some onions, peppers (which are jalapeño... my kid found out the hard way) or cheese and you have an excellent breakfast during your drive.

This was actually a second visit to this particular Waffle House; we were disappointed that the indoor dining doesn't open until 6 AM, considering it's open for 24 hours. I'm thinking it's because the chain is trying to avoid all the craziness that occurs during certain hours! Waffle House offers breakfast plates, hashbrown bowls, waffles, biscuits, breakfast sandwiches, Texas melts, sandwiches, burgers, and eve lunch/dinner options. We ordered: +the Two Egg Breakfast - eggs with toast, jelly, and a side of hashbrowns or grits; the hubs opted for scrambled eggs with hashbrowns +built-your-own hashbrowns - I had it 'smothered' (sauteed with onions) and 'double covered'(with melted cheese), adding in jalapenos; the cheese was a bit coagulated, and both the onions and the diced jalapenos were just super minimal; edges of the hashbrowns were crispy, but could have been more crispy overall, as I did request this to be extra crispy There is a separate order and a pick-up window; orders took about 15 minutes, and the staff is pretty good in recognizing you/your vehicle if you're waiting for your order. Don't forget to request ketchup and/or hot sauce; these come in individual packs. Plenty of parking. +order and pick-up windows available +indoor dining doesn't begin until 6 AM +parking available

This is the closest Waffle House location to Washington DC. This has always been my go-to location for the convenience. However, the quality of the food, the cleanliness, and the customer service can be hit or miss depending on who's working that shift. Wait times can be elevated, tables can be sticky, and servers can be unintentive and rude. However, my most recent visit was for a to-go order, which took a bit, but it wasn't too bad. The food was typical. I always expect more from this location, as I'm sure they're making money from all of the people who are traveling on the interstate, as well as those who are from the Washington DC area looking for that Waffle House, the traditional Waffle House experience.

This Waffle House is located on Route 234 in Dumfries, VA - right off I-95. It's the closest Waffle House to where I live - the next closet Waffle Houses to Haymarket are Fredericksburg, VA and Charles Town, WV... I stopped in for a late breakfast. As others have noted - this is not the cleanest place. I sat at the counter area - on the left hand side - which is lower than the rest of the counter seats. I ordered coffee, plus a Sausage, egg, and cheese bowl over hash browns, and a side of bacon. The food took about 15 minutes to come up - the bowl came up first. BUT - the bowl they delivered to me was not what I ordered. The bowl I was given had bacon in it - not the sausage I ordered. But I was so hungry - that I did not want to wait another 15 minutes for them to correctly remake my order. The hash browns on top were crispy - but the potatoes farther down were a little on the gummy side - they needed to be crispier. I asked for hot sauce and ketchup - the only hot sauce they have is Tabasco sauce - so I added some of that, salt and pepper, and ketchup to the bowl. Overall, a tasty bowl, even made incorrectly. They had music playing through the overhead speakers - that was turned up so loud - I had to speak very loudly to my server. I then asked if they could reduce the volume. I was told apologetically - that they could not turn it down - as no one could find the remote. I almost left - it was really loud. Eventually someone managed to turn the music off about halfway through my meal. I was done eating the bowl by the time the side of bacon arrived. Service was average. Paid with Apple Pay, tipped in cash. #WaffleHouse

Clean & Friendly. I stop at this particular Waffle House every two weeks when I come to visit my grand kids. There is normally a long line and a packed house. But I never wait too long for my carry out order. The staff is so friendly and "Twist" is an absolute joy to interact with. I've never had to return anything, EVERYTHING has been perfect for me each time I go. The food is good the grits are seasoned perfectly. This Waffle House reminds me why I miss them so much when I moved more north!

From…read moreRichmond Hwy, made a right onto Colonial St as the gps guided me but where the location is pinned, it doesn't exist. So I continue on Colonial St, see a big parking garage that reads Rose Gaming Resort, went up the ramp and parked. I went into the elevator, took a guess and push down to the 1st floor. Well there it was .. the food court with multiple restaurants inside the resort in which didn't stated beforehand. In the lobby, there's 6 establishments on the 1st floor such as Crab Tastic, R' Burger, Mama Mia's Italian Kitchen, Southern Spin Kitchen, The Bar and Corner Store. But you have to check the listings as they do not open on the same days and hours. During Mondays-Wednesdays, you have to place your order at the Corner Store for Southern Spin Kitchen and R' Burger. There were 3 items: 1) Chicken and Waffle Sliders 2) Fried Chicken 3) Peach Cobbler. The sliders were unique, waffles were fluffy and chicken were crispy. You get 3 portions served with crispy fries and slaw but never received the slaw but everything was delicious. The fried chicken platter is served with two sides of choice (collard greens and mac n' cheese). Be careful with the first bite as the fried chicken is piping hot. The two sides are were delicious but the collard greens were too sweet for me. The peach cobbler was supposed to be à la mode in which the kitchen staff of SSK informed they ran out of ice cream. As I return to the cashier named Tasia F, I informed her of what SSK staff told me about the ice cream. With the assistance of another cashier named Allie, I was informed that cashier Tasia F went searching through other kitchens within the resort to see if ice cream was in stock. Unfortunately there wasn't any ice cream available which was okay. I wasn't expecting anything because I understand if supplies were short. But I had excellent service with these two cashiers who were friendly, genuine, knowledgeable and beyond customer service. I would make future visit to try other items on their menu as well as other establishments

We were immediately greeted at the table by the wait staff, and our server was new and clearly well trained. She was friendly, attentive, and watched cues on conversation lulls and needs at the table. The food was fantastic, and we let the chef know -- wonderful guy! We started with fire roasted artichoke--2 whole artichokes each chopped in half and roasted. So incredibly good and well seasoned. I enjoyed seared tuna mignon, which was amazing and so flavorful. If you like French onion soup, theirs is wonderful. My wife and a friend both had the blackened salmon and enjoyed that. Another friend had the lamb chops and they were so well seasoned. All dishes were ample in amount. We had creme brulee and apple hand pies for dessert and would definitely get again. Wonderful evening, and we'll be back.

Not bad, but not great either…read more The restaurant's ambience is truly modern and inviting. As someone who resides in Dumfries, this is a very welcome addition to upscale dining, and I was greatly surprised by the decor. I've visited many casinos locally and around the country, including Vegas, Atlantic City, Biloxi, Mississippi, and New Orleans, and I must say this restaurant's decor is on par with many of the other fine-dining restaurants. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was not busy at all. In fact, there were only a few people at the bar and another couple who came in at the same time as us in the dining area. While someone would look at this and be very skeptical, I took it as number one. I was coming on a Sunday night around 5:30. Number two, it may be early for dinner, and number three. I could assure you that my food would come out hot. My server was excellent. The service was terrific, which I had heard was the most mixed part of the experience previously, due to staff turnover and inconsistent service levels for a fine-dining establishment. Akeara was fantastic, I mean, truly remarkable, and coupled with the excellent management and leadership of Veronica Keller, they made the dynamic duo who saved my dining experience. Akeara was very well-versed in the menu and sensitive to dietary restrictions when asked about many of the ways ingredients were prepared. She was invaluable and well-versed in preparation methods, as well as in drink pairings and menu options, to ensure we had a great culinary experience. The food I really enjoyed the calamari. It was fried perfectly. The two dipping sauces were fantastic. The rose salad is absolutely a star on the appetizer menu. I was a little skeptical about the crabcake because the way she described it sounded more like a fried crabcake than a pan-seared one. I think had she mentioned pan-seared, I would have likely gone with a crab cake, but I am certainly not disappointed in the calamari, and again, the salad was phenomenal. The steaks were a different story. I think they marinate the steaks, although I got different answers from the server and the manager when I asked; however, the steaks were a great cut. I saw someone get the bone in Tomahawk, which is presented nicely, hanging from a hook, with the Chef coming out to torch butter over the steak and vegetables beneath. I got the New York strip. It was a very, very lovely piece of meat. The New York strip was severely underseasoned. In fact, I had to ask for steak sauce, which is a cardinal sin of any steak restaurant. I think had they used a little more salt, pepper, and garlic to finish the steak It would've been perfect. The cook was absolutely perfect, medium rare. The seasoning was just off. I also got the risotto and short ribs. The short rib was well seasoned, though so much gravy from the short rib almost covered the entire plate of mushroom risotto. Tasty but just a little disproportionate in presentation. The bread basket was terrific, and the honey butter was nice, though the bread had a slight cheese flavor. It was still a really good combo. The baked potato is by far one of the best values on the menu as a side item. It was large. It was hot and fully loaded. The creamed spinach was a little more cream-cheese-forward, and it seemed like the spinach needed a little something else and seasoning, so it wasn't as bland. The desserts were another story: the toffee cake I thought would look like something I would get at Hell's Kitchen looked more like a very crumbly cornbread with ice cream on top. The vanilla ice cream tasted great, but the cake was just OK. The crème brûlée was on another level. It was fantastic, creamy, full of vanilla, and had a great crunch from the Brulé sugar on top. What really made this meal so good was the service. I talked with my server about my dissatisfaction with the two lobster tails: I did not appreciate being told they were pulled from the lobster shell, and they were served cold and rubbery. The server immediately jumped into action, spoke with the manager, and had the lobster removed from the bill. Thank you so much. But what really impressed me was the time that both the manager and my server spent at the table. Veronica was truly a pleasure to meet. As a military officer who has commanded hundreds and been responsible for thousands, she really hit it out of the park with her ability to problem-solve and immediately address issues as they arose. She was very engaging and really a pleasure to be with. This dynamic duo, who've only worked at this location for less than 5 months combined, really made me say I will come back to the restaurant, assuming they may have had an off night with seasoning and timing in the kitchen. If there's anything to take away, the food is OK (3 stars), the service from this dynamic duo was fantastic, and that's why they got the four stars.

The other three members of my family ordered different chicken dishes and all three were bad. Overall they were very bland. Using a little seasoning during cooking goes a long way. The chicken on the dishes seemed boiled. I guess this is an easy way to get tender chicken, but man does it remove the flavor! My wife's chicken had tendon and grizzle through out. My daughter's Marsala was gross. Seemed to be a Jared gravy. The wait staff really should not be wearing jeans, especially since the dining room seems nice (except for the paper table cloths.). I hope management has a conversation with her about customer service. The usual warm, cozy, friendly, country ambiance did not match the service. Every time we asked for something--even something as simple as a larger table for our party--the answer was immediately "no." It always felt like we were inconveniencing her, and there was never any effort to accommodate reasonable requests. The biggest issue came when our steaks were not cooked as ordered. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, Teka responded, "We only have two chefs working, and if you want them remade, it will take a long time." Rather than showing empathy, she came across as argumentative whenever we had questions or concerns. Her facial expressions and body language made it clear that she was annoyed every time we asked for anything. No customer should feel unwelcome or like they're bothering their server for making reasonable requests. We understand that restaurants can be busy and short-staffed, but that's never an excuse for poor customer service. We hope management addresses this, because the service we received completely overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable dining experience.
