I had a decent experience at this Waffle House. My experience was more or less on par with other Waffle Houses (primarily in Hampton Roads, VA), which has been good, that I have visited over the years. Our waitress, Tammy, was pretty good with taking our orders and following up with us. Our food came out pretty fast, and it was everything that we expected. I wonder if this is a super popular Waffle House location in the Dumfries area. When we arrived around 11 am on a weekday, we were a bit surprised that pretty much all of the seats were occupied. Fortunately, for us, we managed to grab the last booth so we did not have to wait for seat. During our next road trip, we hope to visit this location again...especially since it's the closest one to us (even though it's about 30 miles away).

This is always a staple whenever we travel down the southern coast. This is basically fast food comfort food. There is limited seating but we were able to get a few seats at the counter which is totally fine with me. Service was excellent and our orders came out with minutes. It was borderline amazing. And the food wasn't just sitting around pre-made; I watched them prepare everything. Everything is fresh, waffles are very good and the price point can't be beat. Just remember to get some onions, peppers (which are jalapeño... my kid found out the hard way) or cheese and you have an excellent breakfast during your drive.

This was actually a second visit to this particular Waffle House; we were disappointed that the indoor dining doesn't open until 6 AM, considering it's open for 24 hours. I'm thinking it's because the chain is trying to avoid all the craziness that occurs during certain hours! Waffle House offers breakfast plates, hashbrown bowls, waffles, biscuits, breakfast sandwiches, Texas melts, sandwiches, burgers, and eve lunch/dinner options. We ordered: +the Two Egg Breakfast - eggs with toast, jelly, and a side of hashbrowns or grits; the hubs opted for scrambled eggs with hashbrowns +built-your-own hashbrowns - I had it 'smothered' (sauteed with onions) and 'double covered'(with melted cheese), adding in jalapenos; the cheese was a bit coagulated, and both the onions and the diced jalapenos were just super minimal; edges of the hashbrowns were crispy, but could have been more crispy overall, as I did request this to be extra crispy There is a separate order and a pick-up window; orders took about 15 minutes, and the staff is pretty good in recognizing you/your vehicle if you're waiting for your order. Don't forget to request ketchup and/or hot sauce; these come in individual packs. Plenty of parking. +order and pick-up windows available +indoor dining doesn't begin until 6 AM +parking available

This is the closest Waffle House location to Washington DC. This has always been my go-to location for the convenience. However, the quality of the food, the cleanliness, and the customer service can be hit or miss depending on who's working that shift. Wait times can be elevated, tables can be sticky, and servers can be unintentive and rude. However, my most recent visit was for a to-go order, which took a bit, but it wasn't too bad. The food was typical. I always expect more from this location, as I'm sure they're making money from all of the people who are traveling on the interstate, as well as those who are from the Washington DC area looking for that Waffle House, the traditional Waffle House experience.

This Waffle House is located on Route 234 in Dumfries, VA - right off I-95. It's the closest Waffle House to where I live - the next closet Waffle Houses to Haymarket are Fredericksburg, VA and Charles Town, WV... I stopped in for a late breakfast. As others have noted - this is not the cleanest place. I sat at the counter area - on the left hand side - which is lower than the rest of the counter seats. I ordered coffee, plus a Sausage, egg, and cheese bowl over hash browns, and a side of bacon. The food took about 15 minutes to come up - the bowl came up first. BUT - the bowl they delivered to me was not what I ordered. The bowl I was given had bacon in it - not the sausage I ordered. But I was so hungry - that I did not want to wait another 15 minutes for them to correctly remake my order. The hash browns on top were crispy - but the potatoes farther down were a little on the gummy side - they needed to be crispier. I asked for hot sauce and ketchup - the only hot sauce they have is Tabasco sauce - so I added some of that, salt and pepper, and ketchup to the bowl. Overall, a tasty bowl, even made incorrectly. They had music playing through the overhead speakers - that was turned up so loud - I had to speak very loudly to my server. I then asked if they could reduce the volume. I was told apologetically - that they could not turn it down - as no one could find the remote. I almost left - it was really loud. Eventually someone managed to turn the music off about halfway through my meal. I was done eating the bowl by the time the side of bacon arrived. Service was average. Paid with Apple Pay, tipped in cash. #WaffleHouse

Clean & Friendly. I stop at this particular Waffle House every two weeks when I come to visit my grand kids. There is normally a long line and a packed house. But I never wait too long for my carry out order. The staff is so friendly and "Twist" is an absolute joy to interact with. I've never had to return anything, EVERYTHING has been perfect for me each time I go. The food is good the grits are seasoned perfectly. This Waffle House reminds me why I miss them so much when I moved more north!

My brother, who lives in the Stafford area and is a serious foodie, recommended Widewater Grill. Honestly, it's the kind of place you could easily drive right past without realizing what you're missing. We are so glad we stopped. I had Uncle Richard's Breakfast with eggs, green peppers and onions, bacon, home-fried potatoes, and French toast. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. The home fries tasted truly homemade, which is harder to find than you'd think. The coffee was excellent, served in a real mug, and I loved being able to refill it myself. My fiancé ordered the 12-ounce strip steak cooked medium, and he hasn't stopped talking about it. He said it was cooked perfectly, which is something even many chain restaurants struggle to get right. What really stood out was the atmosphere. The service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant has that local, family-run feel that immediately makes you comfortable. As a retired Marine family, we also appreciated the Marine Corps traditions and military pride displayed throughout the restaurant. Great food, great service, great conversation, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend!

The Woodbridge Silver Dinner is a very busy place today. The ambience and moods seem to be running on happy high octane. The sounds of meals being prepared along with the smells are mouth watering. Evidently, I must be hungry. Upon being shown to our table by a young lady with short hair, we learned from the lady which specials are available for brunch. The lady reminded me of Rhea Ripley. Someone I vaguely remember seeing before I stopped watching WWE. Now she is very popular and I see how she looks now. The lady who seated us remind me of a young Rhea Ripley, but with the short black hair and a bit of the gothic vibe. All of these passed through my head as our host was talking to us. I think this host lady will be making it big very soon. Our server's name is David, but he likes to go by the name DJ. DJ took our orders and the were brought to us pretty quickly. I appreciate DJ informing us that the Rootbeer I would have ordered was flat. The soda machine appeared to be out of the C02...or something else all together. I ended up sticking with good old H20. I ordered the Belgian Waffle&Eggs. Since I do not eat eggs, I substituted the eggs for the new menu item called Home Fries with Caramelized Onions. My wife ordered the French Toast and Eggs with an order of Home Fries with Caramelized Onions, as well. The food was delicious as it almost always is. We saw and heard DJ talking to other guests in his high friendly energy he puts out. Unfortunately, one customer didn't seem to be enjoying himself and got loud and rude with DJ and a customer. Things could have ugly, but they didn't. Cooler heads prevailed dispite Rude Boy taking his anger out on other customers. Whether or not his wife, girlfriend or sister was embarrassed by his rude boy manners, Rihanna's message of the Rude Boy song needs to be upgraded...without the sexual innuendos to her. The other option, "Everything He Owns In A Box To The Left." I am digressing. Back to the subject at hand. DJ is a grown man and handled Rude Boy's remarks and fixed the issue. DJ apologize to his guests for the Rude Boys outbursts. Just another day at Silver Dinner if you don't let rude remarks hit you/bother you like a bat out of hell. The staff members seem pretty down to earth and they all worked together to get food out to the guests. Yes, mistakes can happen, but it's how the problem(s) are handled. We will definitely be back.

Even though it was pretty busy, we were seated immediately, and I was especially grateful to be seated in a quieter corner where the tables were more to the side instead of directly behind us. It was a stressful moment because my autistic son was having a really hard time and was clearly overwhelmed. Our server was wonderful, but the manager, Joy, was truly an angel sent at the perfect time. Not only did she remember our family from a previous visit, but after we explained that our son is autistic and was struggling in the moment, she immediately went to the back and returned with markers, paper, gemstone stickers, a timer, and more -- almost like she was fully prepared for children with sensory needs. I honestly can't express how much that meant to us. Her timing couldn't have been better, and we will forever be grateful for her kindness and compassion. On top of that, when my food came out, my steak wasn't cooked the way I requested. I honestly wasn't even planning to say anything, but Joy noticed I wasn't eating it and asked how I had ordered it cooked. When I explained, she kindly offered to remove it from the check. Managers like Joy are rare and so deeply appreciated. The food was great, but truthfully, Joy is what made this experience unforgettable. You can tell she's not only an amazing manager, but also a genuinely good person with a caring heart. Thank you, Joy, for making such a lasting impression on our family. As a senior army officer, I value professionalism, discipline, and mutual respect--qualities I unfortunately found entirely lacking in the service provided by my waitress. During my visit, I was subjected to a series of unprofessional behaviors that were both disrespectful and disruptive to the dining environment: Aggressive Mannerisms: The waitress repeatedly slammed dishes and glassware down on my table with unnecessary force. Lack of Discretion: When presenting the check, she loudly yelled out the total amount of the bill in front of other patrons, which was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Disparate Treatment: I observed her treating other parties with a level of courtesy and attentiveness that was pointedly withheld from me. General Demeanor: Her overall attitude was dismissive and overtly rude throughout the meal. For identification purposes, the server was a female of minority descent, approximately 5 feet tall with a heavy-set build. I have long respected Tun Tavern for its historical significance and its ties to military tradition. However, the treatment I received was inconsistent with the standards of hospitality one would expect from your establishment.
