We had a very nice experience at this Waffle House. Our server was Ashley and she was fantastic!! Our order came out quickly and it tasted great. You can't beat the price. They call this place a fast food place. It is not fast. I've been waiting for my food for 30 minutes and still not one peep of my food. the service sucks the ambience sucks. The tables are dirty. Even a starving homeless man wouldn't even eat at this join. we have been waiting ever since 10:20pm it's 11pm and we're still waiting for food. Mind you they close at 11pm. read more

Wow, I would have never thought to rate a Waffle House but this was a great experience and it wasn't just the food; it was the people. Shamika was my server and she was so pleasant and respectful to me and I was very impressed that she had a great outlook for her patrons. It's the service of the restaurant that helps this rating. Not to forget the ladies behind the grill, they were all impressive and made this visit enjoyable. One of the first times I received my three egg, ham cheese tomato and mushroom omelette without being overly oily and missing an ingredient. Although I didn't have the hash browns or grits, they looked great as they were served to other patrons. I would definitely make a return trip here and I hope to have the same great service. read more

So I'm back in the south east for a several weeks for work and low and behold there is a Waffle House right across the way from my hotel. Yes! Of course my first breakfast in South Carolina has to be at a Waffle House. I went in with my father who is also in town, and as we walk in we are greeted by the entire staff and offered any table, the place is all ours. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Our waitress came right over and took our drink orders, which took her no more than 1 minute to get those back to us! Great! So naturally I order the All-Star Special, because of course, you get everything you want all at once, I went with the scrambled eggs and grits with bacon, and their signature waffle. The eggs were scrambled perfectly, and well portioned, bacon just the way I like it with the extra crisp, grits were on point and added the butter and lastly but not least the waffle was spot on! Aside from bringing perfectly executed food the place itself was very well kept, clean and will be my regular breakfast spot while out here in Duncan. The staff is super friendly and helpful and they make you feel like you are at home even though for me that's thousands of miles away. If you are in this area and want a good breakfast with a hospitable staff, I would recommend you stop by the Waffle House here on E. Main Street! read more

I've called several times between 4-4:30 am to place in order and they never pick up. I've walked in and called to realize their phone volume is turned all the way down because it rings on my end and you can't audibly hear it on theirs. Waffle House might not be everyone's cup of tea (or coffee), but when you enter the doors at this location the staff always do their best to make you feel like you're family. The food is always delicious, you can make any adjustments you want on your food and it'll always come out just the way you like it, if need something extra they're always willing to go that extra mile, you never have a long wait time on anything and the servers will always keep your drinks topped up, regardless of how fast you like to chug it. There aren't many places i've been to that have had perfect service and food every time i've went, but this is one of those places and if you're hungry and on your way passing by? I've felt as is Waffle was a symbol for America. Great people, good times, and generally great food. I work a very stressful, demanding job that regularly has me working overnights. The one thing that keeps going through hard times is knowing a Waffle from THE Waffle House is almost always right down the road. Rain or shine, sleet or snow, I can always count on Waffle House. But tonight was the first night I've experienced disappointment in this form. After working 6 hours, I was finally able to take my lunch break. I rushed down the down to my so beloved Waffle House, ran to the door, pulled that smooth handle and what did I feel? The feeling of despair. The door jolted the deadbolt against the frame. I took a step back, utterly confused and shocked. I read a hand written sign on the door that said 'closed due to cleaning and being short staffed.' I looked inside, made eye contact with one of the THREE waitresses, and she mouthed 'sorry' to me. A total of four store personnel were standing inside. Didn't seem very short staffed to me? Oh well. I guess this just proves the collapse of our society a whole. I still have faith in Waffle House, however I feel as if corporate should come and do a major overhaul on this one store. Let me tell you about how Waffle House RUINED Christmas: Ok so I went to Waffle House on Christmas night for my friend's birthday. First of all there was barely any seating and I had to stand and wait for a seat.....at Waffle House. Second, it smelled like an Illegal drug deal. Third, when my group was seated I over heard the waiters huffing and puffing about how they didn't want to serve us. Fourth, we waited for ages for our food. Finally, when we got our food the employee in front of us was chatting with her friend about how she was on her period and she was having horrible cramps. Then she proceeded to do the dishes and spray soap all over my FOOD I WAS EATING. *disclaimer* I know it was Christmas and that was one of the only restaurants open and they were trying there best but that customer service was inexcusable. read more

Horrible place to eat. Waffle House isn't fancy but this one Waffle House had a rude waiter and a terrible cook. They never answer their phone either. My waffle that I had ordered had a clump of hair in it.... definitely will not be going back. read more
