My favorite Waffle House. I had to break up with the location on route 24. I gave them 3 chances and each time the food got worse. I don't have super high standards for any Wafgle House but when I order the same thing every time ,no matter what the location, I want it cooked right! This route 1 location has some good cooks! My waffle is always well done like I ask and my cheesesteak omelette is always fluffy and cheesy. The service is Waffle House service.....if you know you know. There is a young guy that works in there that has a fantastic music playlist. Catch him on a good day and he'll have you vibing all the way out while you enjoy your food. Breakfast food is great at any time of the day, so I stopped by Waffle House for a quick bite. I had a waffle, cinnamon toast, bacon, and scrambled eggs with cheese. They offer a choice of home fries or grits, but I passed on those. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The staff worked well together, and sitting at the counter gave me a bird's-eye view of the kitchen--I'm happy to report I saw proper food handling. Fun breakfast with my grandkids that I do not have to prep and clean up! Food is fresh - not fancy. Service is friendly and quick. Could be a bit cleaner, however, when our two toddlers finish eating, I am happy to go home and give the staff the mess my little angels make! All the staff were super friendly and my group of five's meals came out without any mistake, which is a rarity. I never have super high expectations for a Waffle House, I just know the food will always be good. Went in last weekend and it was packed with a couple waiting before us. There was an empty table and instead of the waitresses cleaning it off, they were just walking around looking lost in the sauce. We waited about 5 min and the bar area opened up so we sat down. The booth for the other couple still wasn't clean and the bar area wasn't clean after about 10 min so we left. Nobody ever acknowledged us. Fast forward to this weekend we decided we would do a to-go order so I placed it and we arrived a couple minutes before it was supposed to be done. The inside was dead which was much better than the previous week. The cooks were confused about how many waffles they were supposed to be making (2) and this resulted in my order being ready 10 min after the promised time. Pretty frustrating when there are only 2 other customers in the store and they already have their food. Still same two waitresses working from last weekend that just look completely lost, with one lady yelling at everyone. Probably will find another Waffle House. I also observed an employee walking in with a backpack on and he slammed his backpack into a truck that was in the parking lot because he walked in between the pole and the truck instead of through the empty parking spot next to it. 5 stars for food, 1 for service so overall I'll give it a 3 read more

came in at 9:06pm tonight and stayed until about 10:09pm and was nicely greeted by a special needs man with blue eyes. it was him and a cook in the back. the man that greeted us was our server and he promptly took our orders and it was fine. food came out half done, for my waffle, the batter still visible and my mother's steak was oddly over seasoned and undercooked. overall super mid. the server was very annoying. kept over-checking on us (to obviously get us out quicker), left us the bill while we were beginning to eat (weird) and towards the end, he stood across from our table and stared hard to see if we were thinking of leaving and we felt his hard glare which was annoying. finally got super annoyed and left. yall are open 24 hour why do you care if people sit and eat? read more

Food is always made exactly the way I was expecting it to be. Sometimes the table is a little sticky from syrup, but I think that's an occupational hazard for a place like this. No fault there. Now, based on a couple other reviews, this ain't the Ritz. It's Waffle House. I don't say that is a good thing or a bad thing. It is what it is and I think it's fantastic. Worse place I have ever eaten at. The food you order is not the way order it they make how ever they want to. Homes fries are thrown on the grill and taken right off. If I could no stars I absolutely would. Entered the establishment at about 8:40 and there were no seats available but a couple finished in about 5 minutes. The waitress that was waiting on that table would not clean the table off so that we could be seated but as soon as a group of older white men came in, she quickly told them to have a seat and cleaned the table. While I understand there were two waitresses and the cook, and it was full, the fact that this waitress sat the Caucasian men immediately although we were waiting until 8:56. We left chose not to patronize an establishment that refused to acknowledge us. Didn't have a chance to even have a waffle and that's sad since I've been waiting for to try this waffle. Every time I visit this location, I run into issues. The service is consistently poor, orders are often incorrect or missing items entirely, and the staff seem more focused on arguing with each other than assisting customers. The silverware is rarely clean, and condiments are frequently missing or empty. On my last visit, both my party and another table across the restaurant left after being completely ignored by the staff. I CANNOT recommend this location. The Bel Air location on Conowingo Road offers a much better experience taking an extra five minutes to go there is well worth it to avoid the frustration. read more

I didn't know it wasn't wiped down yet as it wasn't overly dirty at all. I go to sit, and a waitress (Scooter) nearly scolds me for sitting at a table that hasn't been wiped down. Says something along the lines of, "I'd prefer if you didn't sit down until the table is wiped down..." Her reasoning was so they know if I'm a new customer or not in their section. Well, wouldn't you know if you had just served me? This put a sour taste in my mouth before my meal even started. Since I've been to Waffle House in the past, and I wasn't overly hungry I went with something small and basic. I got the two egg combo. It came with a choice of meat and hashbrowns. I ordered both my bacon and hashbrowns well-done. Neither came out that way. My boyfriend, who hasn't been to Waffle House in over 10 years went with the All Star Breakfast, which is a little bit of everything. Waffle, eggs, choice of meat, and grits OR hashbrowns. He went with hasbrowns. He said that his waffle was a little too soft (undercooked) for his liking. When our server (Scooter), brought out our meal she was carrying the plates on top of each other. So the bottom of one of my plates was touching the top of my freshly cooked food. I don't understand this. That is not sanitary at all. I understand wanting all the food to come out at once, but making two trips would be much more sanitary. Just tell me that whatever is missing will be right out. I had a good time at this Waffle House. I don't always get a chance to go because they're so far from where I live but i always make it a point to stop when I am traveling and this time was no different. This particular location allowed in door seating but had the tables spread out ensuring social distancing. The staff wore masks and gloves as did all of the patrons. My All Star breakfast was delicious, as was my fiancé's. My country ham was cooked to perfection and her City Ham was delicious too. read more

Everything was good. Fast friendly service. We love the Waffle House when traveling down south. And to have one so close we decided to take the 30 minute drive just to hang out. The only thing I didn't like is that they give you cold syrup and the waiter said they aren't allowed to heat it. So i opted for the to go syrup instead. read more

This was my first experience at a Waffle House and it did not disappoint. It was delicious and an overall fun time. Our server Danishka was so sweet and nice. She was attentive and came to check on us just the right amount. I loved being able to see our food being made too. The cook worked hard and he made everything perfectly. It tasted good and was some of the best breakfast food. The waffles are amazing-- I got mine with chocolate chips and it was the perfect way the end the meal. Since I had never been, we decided to order a bunch of stuff to try. Also, their sweet tea is phenomenal. I don't know what brand they use, but it's the right one. It was such a pleasant atmosphere. It was clean and friendly, I truly enjoyed every moment. The parking was easy and right next to the entrance. I didn't visit the restrooms so I cannot report on that, however the restaurant itself was clean and presentable. The hour drive was well worth it and I would gladly travel back anytime! It's cleaner, with more friendly staff persons... and add that with all around good breakfast food makes a good experience. This was our first time at this location and it was one of the best waffle houses I've been to. Of course I forgot the waitress name but I went around 10 pm on 06/08. She was friendly, gave us everything we needed without having to ask and she checked on us at the right times and just enough. The cook did his thing too everything was delicious. Nothing was satisfactory at our table of 5 except for one service person who wasn't even assigned our table. The potato hash was a bland unseasoned heap of drywall. The waffles were not cooked, yes there was raw batter in my waffles. My friend's pork chops were undercooked & bland. My daughter's burger was once again bland, unseasoned & dry. Stop in this morning at 7 am on 4/16/23 for breakfast because it hard to get parking place later in the morning because of DD next door. Place was empty except for the 4 employees working there. We went in & was told to sit anywhere. A couple of the employees started cleaning the tables. We went down to the tables near the windows & all were dirty, even the floor was filthy with food on it & what look like soda on the seats. We went back to the other end & sat in a booth that look cleaner then the rest of the tables. We sat for a minute & thought is the eating area was this dirty how could the food prep area be any cleaner. We got up & left & the employees stop cleaning & sat down again. My husband and I drove nearly 45 minutes to this location because there are no Waffle House restaurants near our home. We arrived Saturday mid-morning and were able to locate a seat immediately. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and delivered utensils within moments of sitting down. Our server took our order, repeated it back for accuracy and our food was delivered within 5-7 minutes of placing our order. Food was good, although nothing special. We are long time Waffle House fans! We prefer the Fallston location to the Hickory location. Seems better lit and cleaner. Tonight we stopped by for a quick "breakfast for dinner" and had a great meal! Haley and Trey were taking care of us and they did a great job. I was having a pretty bad day, but once we got to spend some time with these two fantastic young folks, our day got much better. Left with a full belly and a smile on our faces. Waffle House you better try to hold on to these two if you can! Young folks that are willing to work hard and be great to customers are an asset to any business! Haley is also a great salesperson.
