The last time I went to the cornerstone, the place was happen! Very busy time as we went during lunch. I happen to be traveling with my mother and sister as well on this trip to see my grandmother. My mom got the fried shrimp plate, my sister got shrimps and grits, my grandmother's nurse for 1/2# of royal reds and I got a patty melt. The food came out quickly considering it was lunch rush. The portions were adequate for the price and the food was temperature appropriate and flavorful. The restaurant itself is very minimally, decorated, just a place serving good food. It was a little loud in there this time, but that simply because it was lunch rush. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will miss going to this restaurant since my grandmother is no longer here, but at least I will have the memories of the time spent with her there and the good food that we had.

What stood out most to me, especially as a Californian, was the homemade touch in every bite. The tacos had homemade pico de gallo, guacamole, pickled onions, and taco sauce. You can really taste the care and effort they put into making things from scratch. Pair that with a gorgeous waterfront view and friendly, welcoming staff, and you've got a perfect dining experience. I'm visiting from out of town, but I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more of their menu. Highly recommend!

Although I feel like it could have used a few more shrimp for the price point, it was really good and comes with this creamy sort of salsa that pairs well with the fried shrimp. My wife got the grilled chicken sandwich, and honestly it was bigger and looked better than my poboy. I am definitely trying that next time. I hope this place is doing well because it never seems very busy when we go. It's like something is missing on the inside to liven it up. Our tables were covered in epoxy that was cracked and we saw buckling on the wood floors, most likely from humidity. Service has always been pretty quick and I have never had any complaints. I know the City caused a lot of drama for the previous owners, which is unfortunate. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a place to hang out and have a few drinks and great food.

At times, she would start walking away before we finished talking and would not give us eye contact. I'm not sure what's going on behind the scenes here, but would highly recommend that she go through another round of training, or maybe find another job that she actually enjoys. If we were tipping just based on service, I would say we received the bare minimum. Being the person my boyfriend is, he refused to give less than a 20% tip, because he knows that restaurant and bar staff are not paid especially well, but I really do feel like some effort has to be made. Waitress even mentioned that the Beef Debris PoBoy is good in flavor but that it's the most returned and or disappointed menu item when ordered in larger groups (I believe because it's wet). I took her recommendations and ordered 3 side items asking for them all to be together as a meal. Food is delivered and quite a few things were wrong or missing. Burger - missing standard toppings & over cooked to a hockey puck. Several missing items - meals and sides. The food runners were very confused and couldn't even speak when we tried to address the messed up food. Still no drink refills offered and the waitress was gone for so long we couldn't address the missing meals for a while. The food runners never said anything about the issues. Again, I get it, it's Mother's Day, but a suggestion was made (not requested) and then the alternative was incredibly messed up. Little apologies for any of the missing item issues and then the bills were all messy. None of these issues pointed to the kitchen so it's the rare time I don't appreciate an auto gratuity.

We tried Coterie for the first time this past week and it's now one of my favorite MS Gulf Coast…read morerestaurants. The food was really great and a notch above so many other places around. We were scraping the plates clean because everything was so good. This is located right on the beach across from the harbor in Long Beach, in an elevated building that has been a few other restaurants over the years. About 3/4 of it is inside seating with a smaller porch/balcony outdoor part that is also air conditioned when they close all the doors. For starters, we got a dozen grilled oysters that had this excellent garlic butter sauce and cheese added. They were average size as you can expect but much better than what we've gotten from Half Shell the past few times we went. We also got the fried alligator bites which were more tender than any gator I've ever had before, and came with an excellent dipping sauce. I ordered the seafood platter for my meal and couldn't finish it. On top of a large bed of french fries were a bunch of shrimp, oysters, hush puppies, and one large catfish filet that was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Taste of Acadiana which came with three different cajun staples including gumbo and jambalaya. I sampled some of hers and really liked them all. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't all that busy, but our service was good and they kept our drinks filled. I can't wait to go back!
