My girlfriend and I stopped at this Waffle House on a road trip. She's never been to one, so I was excited to show her the experience. But the service was awful. Our waitress asked what we wanted to drink after sitting for more than 15 minutes, and she wasn't busy. When she did take our order she continued to leave in the middle of us giving our order, and never brought my coffee. I had to find her to get one. So initially it was a one star but Shayne made it the five stars. She was very kind and had fantastic customer service. I frequent this Waffle House since I live so close and three different times one female server, who wears a puff on her head, in particular has lied about them only doing take out orders. The first two times, i understood since it was like 1 am once on a weekend and once on a weekday. I happily took my food. This time, it was 9pm on a Friday. I had already been waiting during the shift change for at least 10-15 minutes. I asked nicely could we please eat in. I was hungry and it was early and that I'd really appreciate it. Her only response was "no ma'am" with an tone behind it. So as I took my leave since I was just through with her attitude, I ran into a very nice cook and Shayne who both told me that I could in fact eat in and that Shayne would be happy to serve me. And I am so glad that she did. I also found it interesting that five kids who came in after my friend and I, were being served Dine-In by the same rude server who claimed she only did Take-Out. It was early on a Sunday morning and we were greeted with a cheerful "good morning!" It was pretty full for a 8:30 am but then staff pointed out a free table. They've just remodeled this location after tearing the old one down to the foundation.... Been re-opened maybe a month...food still excellent but it looks and smells cleaner.... The parking lot is the biggest change...no longer a big step down, if you're leaving (or up if you're heading in) the new lot gradually slopes up as you head in or out the door and this is very important for those 2 AM or later (earlier?) visits... 8 4 person booths and 16 single seats...food as great as always....I LOVE ME SOME WAHO.. read more

Unfortunately, there aren't many places to choose from close by that's open late on a Sunday night. Like someone mentioned below. You know what you're getting yourself in for when you go. You're more likely to see this place in CSI or Cops before you ever see this place on the Food network channel. However, it's good grub. It'll fill you up, stick to your ribs, and make you sleepy, just don't go to bed right away if you have acid reflux. I do think the servers are friendly here. The service is impeccable. Generally every time we come we are taken care of quickly and efficiently. Food is generally always spot on and quick to come to your table. There's almost always some internal drama with the employees so it's checks the entertainment box. This Waffle House is unlike any other. Typically, the staff of the Waffle House is feverishly running from kitchen to table to serve, bus, and place an order in nanoseconds, as if they cannot jeopardize losing a coveted world title for fastest served breakfast. These food & beverage professionals flutter across the tiled floor like speedy Pacman ghosts. Well, not at this location. Our adventure begins mid-morning on a Saturday. The lot is pretty full and yet there doesn't appear to be a wait. Note, the word "delay" should be used in place of "wait" since there is no waiting room space in the restaurant. In traditional fashion, you have to wait to be seated, but no one is there serving as a host. No problem, I've been to a Waffle House, I can wait for a table to become available, but where's my "Welcome to Waffle House" greeting? Where is the "We'll be right with you". Nothing. Instead, we spot a random un-uniformed man busing a couple of the tables. Is he volunteering or did he get tired of waiting and decide to take matters into his own hands? Time revealed that it was the former...disappointing, I know. What seemed to be about seven minutes later, we were asked to sit at a table near the window that had been bused, but not wiped down, so there are coffee rings, crumbs, the ecoli virus, who knows was else left as remnants of the previous guests. Our young waitress arrives to wipe down the table with what looked like a dingy grey washcloth that was probably once white. Things start to look up as our silverware is placed on napkins and drink orders are taken, shortly followed by taking our order. Like I said, they started to look up - briefly. My date has eggs over easy and they are undercooked. How is this even possible on a grill that is never turned off - the place is open 24 hours, isn't it more likely that they will overcook your order than under cook it? The answer is no. If you are a consummate Waffle House diner, like I am, you might want to end the story here. I was appalled to see my hash browns thrown together on my plate as if I had made them myself. They were not served in a perfectly shaped circle. I would like to say if you have never been to a Waffle House, you would be none the wiser, except they have a picture menu whereby the hash browns are shaped in a circle thanks to a aluminum cylinder similar to a cookie cutter. The food (with the exception of the undercooked eggs) was good and met typical Waffle House standards and our waitress was friendly and fairly attentive. However, you could see that we weren't the only frustrated guests and that the level of service was below par based on every other Waffle House in the world. Diner beware! One of the worse locations with regards to service, food and cleanliness. On our last visit the cook and waitress had words and the cook literally quit and walked out right in front of us. The waitress was frantic trying to decide what to do with all of the customers. Sat at the counter on a very busy day. Saw a homeless man with his fingers all over the complementary coffee and sugar just inside the door. Was splashed by the lady washing dishes. Saw one of the cooks relight the gas burner using a paper towel, put out the paper towel with a spatula., and then, the lady next to me ended up with ashes on her bacon!
