My favorite part of the reviews for this Waffle House is that these folks seem to think that they've stumbled into The French Laundry. No, you're at a 24/7 diner. We've been here a few times, and honestly it's run the gamut...staff are overworked, the restaurant is usually understaffed, customers range from surly to overly chatty, wait times range from 0 to 20 minutes. With that said, the food has always been good, service has always been exceptionally friendly, and the worst parts of the times we've been there have always involved the customers--not the staff. Have you ever seen an empty WH parking lot during breakfast hours? Me either at least not until I went to this WH. My granddaughter and I walked in and there was no one, not even staff. There were several dirty tables, dirty floors, and three full trash cans near the tables. There was even a ladder upright in the middle of the walkway. This review is for the terrible customer service at this Waffle House. One star is too high!!! We stopped by after leaving Huntsville Hospital to get breakfast. Three of us patiently wait on staff to acknowledge our presence. After several minutes trying to catch employee's eyes, my sister approaches the counter trying to get one of the three employees to look at her. Finally a person looked up and told her the full counter and three full booths are the only seating allowed. We have to wait. There was additional booths on the other side of the restaurant but we cannot sit there. We left. Waffle House management needs to provide customer service training to their employees!!! Okay, it's Waffle House. One goes to Waffle House because one knows what one will get there - consistently average food, under the ubiquitous sign of yellow squares. The variable from one location to another is service. This one offers fast service from friendly staff. For my 414 friends, Waffle House is kind of a southern George Webb although I probably prefer George Webb. When you're on a road trip, you know you're officially "down south" when you see your first Waffle House. (Although they're slowly invading the north. You'll find Waffle Houses in Indianapolis and northwest Ohio these days. But I digress. Like all Waffle Houses, this one offers up extremely average but predictable food. Laminated placemats provide you a fast menu of the popular items, like eggs, meats, potatoes, coffee, orange juice, and signature waffles. You can get an omelet but you have to ask for it. I ordered a pecan waffle that was slightly underdone but acceptable and tasty. The pecans were concentrated in the center of the round waffle - that fits the plate quite well. Syrup is served in a real jar and not in pre-packaged, portion controlled containers. Soak your waffle with as much as you want. My lunchmates ordered a patty melt and eggs over easy. Our meals were served rapidly and everyone was happy with their orders. Waffle House is the antithesis of an upscale coffee house but their coffee is actually pretty good. Since locations are up and down the Interstates at both major and minor interchanges, I've been known to stop at a Waffle House when on the road for a "to go" cup of coffee. This particular location is a bit of a challenge to get into and get out of again, but anyone with a drivers license should be able to eventually figure it out. If you're looking for a gourmet breakfast or lunch, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a fast meal for not a lot of scratch, Waffle House is a great option. read more

Underwhelming experience to say the least. I've had some good meals here but service is no longer a priority. We were one of two tables present so the place wasn't busy. The server took our order and we watched as they did not start cooking it for about 20 minutes. Once the food was done we also watched it sit on the counter for a while until it was brought over - cold. No drink refills until the end of our meal when a different server noticed we were empty. Over the most formative years of my life - indeed, our lives - this Waffle House was the pillar of the community. Think of it this way. It's 11:30PM and you're in Jones Valley. Your options are nonexistent. What are you going to do? Sonic is for the ruffians. Taco Bell or Zaxby's? It'll be dawn by the time you're served. You look to the distance and see a yellow glow behind a CVS pharmacy. Is that...a pillar of cigarette smoke, billowing from the parking lot? By George, you've come home. You pull in to the lot. The smoke emanates from the fingers of a mysterious figure. The figure drops the cigarette and briefly makes eye contact with you before turning towards the door and walking back in. Have you ever seen a video of those kids that can solve a Rubik's cube in 5 seconds? They approach the cube with a nonchalant demeanor that can only exist after (what seems like) a lifetime of experience. They take it. They solve it. They did what we expect them to. You think, do these people live in the real world? How did they have the time to perfect their craft? Now mentally leave that middle school gymnasium or wherever these videos are recorded and apply it to the real world. The servers at this Waffle House are the prodigies. Only my 2nd time at a Waffle House, so I'm not familiar with what a typical experience is like. I was craving an omelet, but there were no omelets on the menu. My experienced Waffle House husband said they'll make me whatever I want. I wasn't sure about that, since it wasn't on the menu, but when I asked the waitress if they had omelets, she handed me a different menu that had about 4 omelets listed. Not sure why omelets aren't on the regular menu, but I was happy. Ordered the Fiesta omelet and it was very yummers. I was surprised it came with 3 slices of bacon, and I ordered tomatoes as my side. Everything was tasty! The staff and atmosphere were so bizarre to me. We sat at the counter, as there were no tables available. I'm eating a nice meal while a staff member is washing dirty dishes by hand directly in front of me. Another staff member is in front of my husband coughing up a lung and screaming at other employees. There were so many employees cooking in front of me, and they were sweaty, loud, and I saw unhygenic things I would've rather have not seen. I suppose that goes on in most restaurant kitchens, but it made me lose my appetite seeing it right in front of me. One employee was screaming out orders to the line cooks, which got annoying very quickly. A very odd place, but I was happy with the food. If I have a choice, I'll go to IHOP or Cracker Barrell to avoid the loud, chaotic sound/view of the cooking line. The worst thing was seeing unhygenic practices right in front of me as I was eating. Let me start out by saying I am a Waffle House lover. I try and stop at one when I see them because I do not live near a Waffle House (Vegas). My husband ordered a hash brown bowl with extras added and I ordered one single waffle. My husband received his food almost immediately while I was told mine would take a minute. Fast forward 10 minuets later my husband is finished and my one Waffle was just now being taken off the iron. The places wasn't busy and I know other servers saw me staring back at the grill looking for my Waffle. What a huge let down read more

Have to warn you- It all started normal, got into the Waffle House, and yeah the AC was blasted, tables weren't clean, and I had to change places two times because of the tables. The first time they were dirty, second dirty soapy water leaked under our table. Although, they moved us each time, staff was incredibly friendly, and our food came in ok time, but these aren't my kind of reviews though...I'm here to tell you what everyone wants to know, but no one ask, or talks about, the water (and not the water under the table, as previously mentioned). So it all began with first sip, which had a zest to it, further on in drinking I soon began to notice it didn't have the average Huntsville tang, but a bit of the aftertaste in it. It was also incredibly cold to complement the high AC, but something was blocking it from its full refreshing taste. Would I suggest? Food was decent (bacon was overcooked), staff was friendly and quick and we were in and out quickly (which was what we wanted). They could use a little moderation on the A/C though. I had a great meal here with friends. I'm not going to take time to expand/ explain. Everyone knows what Waffle House has to offer. We tried to jalapenos biscuits and they were tasty! We had very friendly service, everything is really affordable, and when someone sees you order a waffle with warm syrup, they just have to order one for themselves. The best thing about Waffle House is consistency and this one is no exception, The service is good, tho NOT exceptional. My last visit, I mentioned I had to change position in the booth due to my ear problem (I have Meniere's Syndrome and my left ear is sensitive to loud sounds) and the volume of the music (I ONLY said I had to change, nothing about the quality of the noise), the waitress said to someone there "we need to turn the music down a little". Their reaction was to turn it LOUDER for one song, then turn it off. This was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. Food tasted fine, but saw multiple employees handling food with bare hands! From carrying raw bacon to the frier with her ungloved fingers to flipping over a waffle on a customer's plate, one female employee was appallingly unsanitary during our entire visit. Also, she was not wearing a hairnet. A male employee was wearing gloves, but was touching everything from raw foods to tickets to cooked product. A nice waiter named Tim was the high point in our experience. Though we saw him briefly stabilize a couple waffles with his bare finger, he was very courteous, positive, and much more adherent to health code than his coworkers. read more

But no one should have the ability to hold a Waffle House hostage BLASTING Enter Sandman while I eat breakfast. A little dirtier than some other Waffle House locations. Entrance is a little difficult to find. I wouldn't hesitate to go to this location again if in the area - but please remove the jukebox. Ok..we love the food at waffle house. There are two major things about this location that are problematic. 1. They have a server (Susan) that is consistent with terrible service. I won't bore you with details just suffice it to say she won't be allowed to take care of us ever again. 2. No one (regional/corporate) cares that they don't pay attention to sanitation. We made a complaint to corporate 3 months ago after watching a female manager touch raw meat...and then literally everything behind the counter. Clean plates, bread, waffles, whatever got in her way. After speaking with the regional manager and being assured it would be addressed...sadly no. If it was, they chose to ignore it. read more
