It's a Waffle House what can I say? A greasy spoon diner with great prices and fast service. They're open all of the time. Anytime you're in the mood for waffle house you can literally just walk in the place and place your order. The day that they are built they're immediately a dive. I always get the waffles even if they do taste like a Kroger frozen waffle just bigger lol you can't beat the price, the service, the consistency, the dependability, I could go on. So, my hubby and moms in law went back this past Wednesday and it sorta felt like Norm from Cheers.. they remembered us and thanked us for coming back! The food was hot, tasty and delicious I ordered the same thing as before (if it ain't broke don't fix it) so good! Again the ancestors are rejoicing because of those grits seasoned to perfection and creamy. My mom's in law puts sugar on her grits (I don't know where she's from Mars or West Virginia) salt & pepper is all they need but they really didn't need that! I have these in my state, MD, but never been to one. It was right across from where I was staying so thought I'd give it a go. It did not disappoint!!! I went on 3rd shift on a Friday night. Everything was pretty good. The service was great and the cooks knew how to Mark and drop correctly (I used to work for WH). The waffles were thicker than the other locations and their waffle iron actually has Waffle House in the griddle so that your waffles say Waffle House read more

Yeah for some reason I am on a personal, unwanted quest to hit every Waffle House in North America. Do I "get" the Waffle House? No. Do I enjoy the food, which is carb heavy, cooked in either butter or oil (or both, who knows!) and only ranges in colour from pale yellow to brown? Not really! Vegetables? Forget it...grits are TECHNICALLY a vegetable, right? The best thing I can say about the Waffle House is the coffee, and the unintentional hilarity of the people watching. Well, that and watching Andy's face light up as if he had just won the lottery and Mick Jagger was personally handing it to him. We all know Waffle House is not a luxurious place to eat. It's a diner. And it's definitely a diner you need to stop at whenever you have a chance. I haven't been to a Waffle House in like 12 years? My memories were of a dirty diner. This location was actually very clean! The bathroom was one of the cleanest public restrooms I've ever been in! And of course the food was excellent. Service was on point and very friendly. My husband and I both had the sausage hash brown bowl with gravy and it was everything we had hoped for. Can't really say much for other menu items as I stick to the same thing because it's just soooo good. Slowest Waffle House I've been to and I've been to waffle houses all over the country. They are nice just incredibly slow. It wasn't very busy, especially for a Waffle House. They also don't have gluten free waffles here like many others do. Overall I was disappointed and incredibly tired after waiting an hour for my to go bowl, not getting dinner until after 1am when I had planned to be asleep before then. I had an important morning and waited because they kept saying 10 more minutes. Again very kind people, but I would eat somewhere else if you don't have time to kill. read more

They have signs up saying to go only 9pm-6am and they refuse the answer the phone. I tried going in to get lunch at 2pm and apparently they are also Togo only then to??? Every other Waffle House is open this is just pure laziness, they have employees everywhere in there so no reason to be to go only. read more

I can't believe that I went a whole year without a Waffle House Breakfast. I started to go through withdrawal. I actually had the shakes and cold chills in anticipation of my smoothed and covered Hash Browns. As we walked inside, the wonderful smells of Eggs, Potato's and grilled onions were in the air. I started drooling like Pavlov's Dog awaiting my first forkful of delight. I decided to go with the Texas Burger on this visit. Of course, I complimented this with a tasty side order of Hash Browns that were smothered, covered and peppered. The Japeleno peppers were a tasty added touch to this delicious lunch. The Waffle House is comfort food personified. I could be in the worst mood of my life and the Waffle House would leave me fat, and happy. It has been my experience with these restaurants is that they are almost never in a good area. The food is exceptional but the owners can never catch a break. Lol. This one had 2 squad cars in the lot handling a domestic disturbance in the hotel adjacent to the Waffle House. I love to get in the pit and nosh with the locals. The waffles cannot be matched anywhere. Also the hash browns are delicious. If you gotta take one on the chin on the way out or in its worth is. What can I say about the Waffle House? Honestly, I expected a little bit more when I stepped in. Not sure why. I've seen the big black letters in the yellow squares on my travels for years and as a lover of waffles, I just always assumed that their waffles would be amazing. I was a little disappointed when my waffle came. It was light and fluffy; more like a pancake with squares. I've had much better waffles at IHOP. Turkey bacon/sausage was not an option. *Sigh* I don't always have a taste for pork. I won't complain because one shouldn't expect so much at a place where you can get breakfast for under $8. But, if the name of your establishment is Waffle House, then for crying out loud your waffles should be better than the International House of PANCAKES, not the other way around. read more

Wow. Where do I start? I've had many memorable experiences here. From downing delicious waffles while drunk at 3 AM, to having a police officer say "I've dealt with you and your mom before," this place and I go way back. Like most Waffle Houses, it has to be experienced, not read about. The next time you are looking for eats on Southport Road in the early morning hours, hit up the Waffle House. Look for the guy I call "sad sack" sitting at the counter and talking about his forthcoming novel, which has been in the works for at least 10 years. Another good breakfast at Waffle House! I was here the morning after the 2019 Indy 500 race, so it was Memorial Day morning, a Monday. I am a fan of Waffle House restaurants, and it was my first visit to this particular Waffle House. I had coffee (it was fine), scrambled eggs (good), sausage patties (dry and unappetizing), grits (in a buttery sauce -- way too much butter!), and waffles, but the waitress brought the waffles late, as I was finishing my other food. I think she forgot. So if my food and service was far from perfect, why do I give this place a good rating? It was crowded on a holiday, the waitress was working hard, and this restaurant had all the great attributes of Waffle House restaurants: cheerful atmosphere, animated conversations, lively vibe, big windows, lots of natural light, and the place has syrup, and it feels just like .... Waffle House... there isn't much to say, really. Its your typical small breakfast joint that is always busy on the weekend. We decided that this was the place to go one Sunday with some friends from out of town. We arrived a little after 11am to find the place was busy and had a line to get a table. The guy that was seating everyone did a good job of keeping track of who was first. I didn't keep track but I'm going to say that we waited 15-20 minutes for a table. Once arrived at the table we all pretty much knew what we were getting. Our server brought our drinks and then took our order. Ha! All 4 of us got the same thing. Now for the life of me I can't remember what it is called, but it comes with eggs, bacon, toast, and waffle. Our food came out pretty quick considering how busy they were. Once it started to arrive we condensed our food onto one plate as each of us were getting about 4 plates each. If you haven't been to a waffle house, then you don't know how small the tables are for a group of 4 people. I was impressed how good the food tasted. Other locations in the area don't taste this good. I was surprised, happy, and impressed. Our server kept our drinks full and our table cleared as we one by one emptied our plates. The place is as clean as can be expected for basically a large, one room diner. It does look like they tend to dump a lot of stuff on the floor, behind the counter when they're busy... but I could be wrong as I never actually saw someone do that. Overall, not a bad location, and I'm sure i'd go back again someday. read more

upon entering this small venue, it was rather dirty and unsettelingly homey. a brisk wind will send chills up your back. the food display was rather disturbing as the photos kind of looked like plastic food. after ordering, it was safe to say that it would be safer to kill a turtle rather than skip a straw and risk getting a disease. the waffles were surprisingly fluffy and delicious. the hash browns on the other hand, tasted like the inside of payless shoes. as if that wasn't unsettling enough, we looked in the kitchen to find a pregnant woman cooking with one hand, and eating a rocket pop with the other hand. best of luck, the baby boy is due on the 21st of september. we were ready to go, and as i exited the booth, my hand was submerged in sticky liquid that i had not consumed with my meal. all in all, it was pretty sketch. read more

The waitress and staff are always so wonderfully welcoming. I recommend the cheese omelette- it's not on the menu, but order it anyway. Its fluffy and full of cheese - the processed cheese of America - there's no better in an omelette. It's also great to see the food made out in the open in front of you instead of behind closed doors. Lily got the chocolate chip waffle - her favorite since she was 5, and smothered it with sticky syrup. It's so good! read more
