I like the newest food additions especially the pot roast! Not fatty at all and the stew chunks are so soft you don't need a knife! I'll say of all the times I've been here the service has been excellent with the exception of this time. Richard took awhile to even get to our table on a NOT busy at all afternoon . He took our order and never came by to serve food, ask if we needed anything, refill drinks etc. I had to ask / flag down other servers for a spoon, extra plate for our appetizer and so on. He did come back by though to swiftly drop off our check and go right back to the kitchen (I assume?). It was pretty ridiculous. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves and the other staff was excellent even remembering us from our most recent visit before this one. We're pretty regular and thus one stands out so I figured I'd leave a review now unfortunately! NOTE TO MANAGERS: it's time to remove the 'pickup parking only' signs in handicap parking rows! I have to just park in those spots anyways when handicap is full. There's no need for that many spots in a parking lot your small size here AND the other regular parking lane too. You have plenty. It's excessive and I always have to say I had to take one of ridiculous amount of pickup spots because there's no handicap spots left! Yes you oblige and don't mind it but its something I'd rethink! This is one of our stand by places to eat. Every time the food is great, as is the service. This time both my wife & I tried something we've not had here before. She got the grilled chicken salad & I got the trout with grits & corn. Both were very good. Neither of us needed a nap afterward, which we normally would want, as we would be absolutely stuffed!! These two meals were just right. Our waitress was attentive & engaging, noting right away that I drink water like a fish. We will, of course, be back soon. read more

Ok, where do I start. At the beginning is probably good, where we had to get up and get our own silverware, even though we had ask the waitress to bring us some. Then, we had to ask two different times for a coffee refill. I ordered scrambled eggs "slightly soft". What I got were eggs that were so undercooked that they were literally running all over the plate. Biscuits and gravy came with the meal. Biscuits were ok but the gravy was luke-warm and the consistency of stiff pudding. In order to have it cover the biscuit, you had to spread it like jam. We got pancakes and had to ask for more syrup three times before we got any. And oh, by the way, the syrup was ice cold, like it just came out of the refrigerator. My meal included a side, which I never received. When I told the waitress that it was never delivered, she asked if I wanted it to go. I told her that it was too late and asked for an adjustment to the bill. She went and talked to the manager and came back and told me that if they took it off, they would have to charge me more! (Wait...what???). The manager came over and told me that he did not have the power to adjust a bill. (Since when does a restaurant not allow a manager to adjust a bill when an ordered item failed to arrive)! We finally settled on taking the price of the coffee off the bill. So, last but not least, I attempted to pay by phone using the QR code, and that wasn't working so I ended up standing in a line that was 7 people deep, just to pay the tab. And now I know why Cracker Barrel is in financial trouble. If my treatment was the least bit common, then I suspect they are hemorrhaging customers right and left. read more

Cracker Barrel is generally very consistent and this store is no different... The front General Store part is full of sparkly knickknacks, usual candy options, fun (and expensive) toys for the littles, and a variety of shirts and scarves to satisfy you Great Aunt B. The food was fine - the service was fine - the noise is LOUD (they really could use some baffles - but I honestly believe they encourage the loudness so people are not thrilled to just hang out - Cracker Barrel is all about Get em In Get em Out!) Had lunch yesterday with my colleagues around 11:30am Friday. Service was horrible and so was the food. We opted not to complain because the tables around us seemed to be doing a good job about laying into the manager about the inaccuracies and poor food quality. It took nearly 30 minutes from placing our order until it arrived. We were going to order the specialty strawberry cream cheese pancakes and they didn't have the ingredients to make that but could make them with blueberries so we got that. Then we got a grandma's breakfast and all the eggs ordered were requested to be well done but they sent out dark brown eggs where they had obviously burnt them. Then I ordered the sampler with 3 sides and everything on my plate ice cold to room temperature. Homestyle chicken cold, meatloaf cold, dumplings disgusting, fried okra was good, mashed potatoes ice cold as well as the gravy. I've always loved Cracker Barrel but seems since the remodeling they have lost their way and just started serving garbage that I wouldn't feed my dogs. Super disappointing. read more

A cute typical Cracker Barrel when you come in, the porch is full of rockers and the store full of Knick knacks and old fashion candy. The fire in the sitting area was roaring! We were sat right away and attended to by a efficient and kind server. Food was delivered speedily and tasted just like it should! My wife and I go in for breakfast once a week and takeout often for dinner. The food for the most part is very good. However, we go there exclusively for our very favorite server Janet. If you want everything perfect make sure you request her. That is her byline "is everything perfect" if it"s not she will make it that way. Then enjoy your breakfast. read more

I'm sorry to say that despite the amazing staff and friendly atmosphere the food at this location is horrid. I was invited to lunch with a group of older friends who have in the past enjoyed the food offerings here. However several of them said their food was not good at all, and my fish platter was so dry and over dried it tasted more like shoe leather. I had thought to send it back as it was honestly inedible, but it was so busy and I didn't want to bother the staff. The waitress was very nice and had gone out of her way to seat us with wheelchair and various needs, so we were thankful for her service. But the food. Perhaps it was an off day or an off dish but it was just not good. No seasoning or flavor and overly cooked. The green bean side was pleasant and had flavor for which I was grateful. The has brown casserole though was grease filled, cold and unsalted (and I never salt my dishes). I'm sorry to say but now I'm hesitant to go to any Cracker Barrel at all as not just my meal but the older ladies Turkey and dressing were also not good. I would caution people to just keep driving and try another spot. It is definitely not worth it despite the overall kind staff. read more

I have not been to a Cracker Barrel since 2017 so I had lower expectations post-COVID. We arrived on New Year's Day so it was no surprise that it was crowded and that service would be slower. When we stepped inside the dining area, I was immediately claustrobic by how many people were eating and quietly prayed they wouldn't seat us in the middle where I knew I'd have a hard time as a bigger woman getting in and out of my seat. It reminded me of Lambert's in Sikeston, MO. Our waitress and fellow waiters/waitresses physically appeared overwhelmed and worn out by the diners. We arrived around 11:15am. Our waitress put our drink orders in (mimosas and coffee) but did not take our food order until a good hour later. It took another hour for us to receive our food. Had I not had coffee to tie me over, I would of requested my bill and went elsewhere. My best friend had never been to any Cracker Barrel restaurants and ordered lunch (country fried steak with white gravy, broccoli and mashed potatoes with dark gravy) while my partner and I ordered breakfast (Old Timer's Breakfast and Grandma's French Toast Sampler). When the food came out, it seemed to match the pictures so I was hopeful it would taste as good as 2017. Well that was not the case. I had the french toast sampler so it was nothing special. The eggs, although I asked for cheese on top seemed kind of dry and plaster like. My partner had the Old Timer's breakfast and it the worst tasteLESS gravy I've ever had in my entire life. When he poured the gravy onto his biscuits, it had the consistency of jello before it became somewhat solid. I screamed as it came out as once piece out of the bowl. We don't send food back and was prepared to hit the road back to St. Louis so we figured we will stop elsewhere (gas station) for a snack or something worthwhile. My friend broke open her country fried steak and asked what was it really holding up what looked like chewed up meat that was hidden in a fried shell. I was grossed out for her. She said the broccoli was ok but too buttery. I tried a piece and agreed. She said the brown gravy was good but nothing else really. Our waitress gave us our bill and thankfully I could pay it online using the barcode because it was a million humans in the store and none of them would move out the way for us to exit. I felt like I had to loudly exclaim excuse me for people to barely move out of my way. I felt like we wasted our time and money and due to this experience, I probably will never dine at another Cracker Barrel. read more

I miss having a Cracker Barrel near me, so almost always when I am back in Indianapolis we order Cracker Barrel and have it delivered. One thing I love about it is that it's always consistent no matter where I go. Another thing I love about it is that is that it hasn't changed in the over 40 years I've been going there. My husband and I have been at Cracker Barrel often, and this particular Cracker Barrel the most. However tonight was especially stellar. First of all the cashier closest to the door greeted us as we walked, and there was just something extra welcoming about it. I just wanted to walk over to him and have a friendly conversation for no reason at all, other than to be...well...friendly. Then when we were seated our waiter, Roc, immediately made a comment about my t-shirt. I'm a huge fan of Howl's Moving Castle and other geeky things, and I was wearing a shirt representing this. So, immediately I knew I was already going to be happy with him being our waiter for the night. My husband and I both ordered the seasonal Sugar Plum Tea, and when he claimed he wasn't sure they had any currently. I made sure to stress that I hoped they did, but I would be happy with a Dr. Pepper if not. He came back and brought out large to go cups full of the Sugar Plum Tea, and told me he made it himself! My husband ordered the two entrée Classic Sampler, and I ordered my normal which is the Chicken Fried Chicken. I will say that there was a slip up, and I ended up with the fried apples instead of the dumplings. But I wasn't bothered by this at all; the supper crowd was just starting to roll in, so I'm sure it was just an unintentional slip up. In the grand scheme of things it wasn't that big of a deal and Roc corrected it right away. Also, when we ordered our meals I made an off hand comment about how when it came to the biscuits I was probably just going to dunk them in my mashed potatoes and gravy. I'm not the kind of person to make things harder for anyone, but Roc was thoughtful enough to bring the gravy on the side. (I might order it this way from here on out, to be honest, but then again I might refrain just because I don't like making things more difficult for people, as I already stated before.) I need to also add that the chicken was the best chicken I ever had from there. I wouldn't say it has ever been bad, but this time it was exceptionally succulent. Cooked to absolute perfection! (I wish I had taken pictures of it, but I didn't think of it at the time.) I need to also add that I noticed how much Roc was doing aside from waiting on his tables. He bussed the booth closest to us. Stoked the fire and added more firewood. I don't think I ever saw him just standing still. Before we left he got a pitcher of more Sugar Plum Tea and topped off our drinks. When we left we checked out with the same cashier that greeted us when we walked in the door. He also pointed out my shirt, and if it weren't for the fact they were busy I would have just wanted to gab for a minute. (Unfortunately, I didn't think to look for his name.) read more

The only reason that one star was given, is because I cannot leave no stars! This brunch was one of the worst brunch experiences that I have ever had in my entire adult life. We decided to stop by on a whim, and noticed that the interior has went through a complete overhaul. The new interior is bright and colorful... but missing all of the character and charm that once was. We were sat fairly quickly. Our server was new by the name of Megan W. We placed our order and noticed that once the order was placed, she really didn't check back with us. It wasn't busy so that could not have been the reason for the lack of attention. Once our food arrived we realized how many changes have really been made. The biscuits were dry and tough, they taste like a mix. The pancakes were salty to the point that I only took one nibble. My eggs were ordered to be soft scrambled, however they were fried hard. Our hash brown casserole was dry and hard, not to mention minuscule. I am pretty sure that they were made with dehydrated potatoes. My meat had been sitting under the heat light until it was cremated. All in all the only thing enjoyable was the coffee. I have posted before and after pictures, my plate was barely touched and my husband simply picked over his meal. The server brought the ticket upon request, when she asked if we wanted a to go container I told her no thanks. It was clear from the untouched plate that I did not enjoy one thing on this plate. The same could be said about my husband's plate. He only ate his catfish. This was a waste of $36. It is so bad that I will be contacting the corporate office. Cracker barrel- learn customer service, learn the true meaning of southern cooking, learn how to train your servers to pay attention to the customers plates... if an entire plate goes back... something is horribly wrong. read more

The boneless chicken was terrible. The green beans weren't that great. Even my coke tasted off like the ice was not filtered. The biscuits were good, but the server didn't put butter or jelly in the basket. Had to ask, and wait. Not sure I would go back. The server took our order but it took him 7-8 minutes to come back with our drinks. When I asked for napkins he came tossed them from his apron at my child who was sitting across from me. The servers need trained better. The food did come out fast, but it tasted bad. The service was not that great. read more

Very slow service. Had to wait less than 5 minutes for table. Another 5-6 minutes for server to take order but 25 minutes to get food. Once breakfast arrived I got plain sourdough bread...bread! I said this isn't even toasted and she said "oh, you wanted toast?" Never have I ever had to specifically request that my toast be toasted for breakfast. We tried to stop in a few weekends and the wait was1-2 hours. The parking lot was fairly full on aWednesday around 11am but the restaurant was less than half full and we were seated right away. The prices are definitely higher than I remember but the $6.99 weekday lunch options were great. The new biscuit beignets were so delicious! The powdered sugar topping took me straight to the fair. I have been to this Cracker Barrel many times and usually it's a pretty good experience. Never a great experience. True with all Cracker Barrel, there is a big shopping area in the front with all kinds of quirky things, it's kind of fun if you have to wait in line, it gives you something to look at. Then you get to the back area where the restaurant is. An old look to it with antique signs on the walls, wooden chairs, and tables kind of a country feel. I was seated pretty much right away even though Sunday morning is usually pretty busy. I think some of the issue is that they have about a third of their parking spots blocked with construction equipment, every other spot was full so I'm sure most people just drive away thinking it's too crowded to go in there or not being able to find a parking spot causes them to leave. The place is about 2/3 full today. It took about 15 minutes for my waitress to come to the table. This is after the person seating me basically walked four steps in front of me, dropped my menu on the table and walked away, not a very friendly greeting. then my server came to the table, as if her dog had just died , with a frown on her face, nothing nice, she just amy name is so-and-so and I'll be taking your order. She took my order and walked away without saying thank you or anything like that. I ordered water to drink and a mama's French toast breakfast which includes French toast, choice of bacon or sausage, I chose sausage today, and eggs made the way you want, I chose scrambled. I also ordered a side of hash brown casserole, which is kind of their specialty here. the French toast and the hash brown casserole is the reason I come to Cracker Barrel. The person delivering my food was a little more friendly, however, she did not bring my hash brown casserole. But she went back and took care of it right away. my waitress came back a couple times and it seemed as if her mood had improved a bit. And even told me to have a wonderful rest of my weekend. The food was good, nothing fancy, but what you would expect from a country type place. Pretty good portions, so much that I couldn't eat all of what I got. The French toast was good and sweet. All I added was butter the syrup would've made it too sweet. The sausage was very smoky. The eggs were very plain just a couple scrambled eggs, but that's what I ordered. And hash brown casserole was very good. while the people skills could get a little bit better and some of the timing things, all in all it was a pretty good experience. read more

Our meals took over 45 minutes after we placed the order. I had coffee with my breakfast and my cup was empty for over 10 minutes as waitresses walked by with the coffee pot and not a one asked if I would like some more. Our waitress never stopped by our table till we were 3/4 done with our meal. She had seen that we didn't have any jelly or butter and we should brought she had dropped it into the basket with my biscuits and gravy. My wife's eggs were cold and she had said something to the waitress that delivered our meal. My grits were luke warm, we both had ordered bacon crispy and you could hold the bacon and it would just limp over. I would honestly say that this had been one of the worst experiences at Cracker Barrel we have had. It saddens the both of us because we both love going here. We would had stayed to complain but we had an appointment that we needed to get to. read more

This is the worst Cracker Barrel I've ever been to. The hostess and wait staff were not interested in customer service at all, didn't care about people at all. I checked in and asked to place a to go order, it was over 25 minutes before someone came to take my order....it was another 45 minutes before my food came. I saw multiple families come in after me eat and leave. I told the workers I have been here over an hour and they didn't say a word no apology, after I got my food again no apology and also left things out that I asked for, no butter, no forks, napkins. This is a poorly run restaurant....go across the street to Bob Evans you'll probably enjoy your experience more. read more

I haven't been to Cracker Barrel in awhile. I believe I went to this location years ago before I was on Yelp. I went today with a friend and all I can say is the food really wasn't as good as I remember, and we had to sit and wait for at least 30 + minutes to wait for our food and it really wasn't that busy. We ordered breakfast. I don't know if they forgot about our water or what the deal was. People that came in after us we're getting their food before us. We both ordered the eggs Benedict. It was OK. On a scale from 1 to 10. I would give it a 4. The potato casserole was very dry, and the actual eggs Benedict part just didn't taste as good as it normally could/would. The cinnamon sugar apples were just OK. Our server was nice enough, and they did offer us a discount on our food. But honestly, I'm not sure if I will go back to this location. When we asked for the manager, she was busy cooking so apparently they are shorthanded at this time as well. The gift shop is still fun to explore. read more

Cracker Barrel hits the spot! After 5 days in Indianapolis my co-workers and I decided to have breakfast here, which pointed us in the direction back to Louisville. We waited a few minutes to be seated but they had plenty of tables, and my group enjoyed being seated at a larger table near the fire so that we could spread out. Our server was attentive and we never ran out of anything. You really can't go wrong with their breakfast options - it's truly about what you like (a lot of meat, pancakes, grits, hashbrown casserole, biscuits and so much more). Cracker Barrel is a great option for families and large crowds. Holiday items are currently out for sale. I just love taking a quick scan of their shelves, plus their candy and snacks. read more

As I was driving along the I-65S this morning heading to Louisville KY, I felt like to stop and get something to eat. Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day , I thought I might as well drive to any Cracker Barrel restaurant on my way. As everyone knows that Cracker Barrel is one of those places that knows how to draw people in! It us about the Southern charm and warm atmosphere have people stopping all day long for the tasty famous Southern-style food. Luckily the restaurant wasn't that crowded, so I could find a vacant table. The staff was nice and warm welcoming. I had a terrible experience here a few months back and decided to give it another try today. Big mistake! The food was very small portions delivered to my table at room temperature. The "mashed potatoes" were obviously a boiled potato "mashed" with a fork and served in big chunks. The meat loaf was small piece dry with no flavor. The green beans would have been good had they been even slightly warm. I paid $13 before tax and tip for a horrible meal. Turns out the portion didn't need to be larger as I left half of the food because it was not eatable. No more at this Cracker Barrel. Waffle House is just across the street! read more

I think that the three stars overall on this restaurant is fairly true and understandable considering the circumstances. We were seated right away and however our waitress came over after around 10-15 minutes. We placed our orders and our waitress, Angel, was very nice and pleasant. After about 20-25 minutes we received our food. The first thing I noticed was how my macaroni and cheese was a little burnt in some places. My catfish was delicious and I have no complaints about it! I love fish, especially salmon and catfish, which is why when I saw it on the menu I had to order it. I also got a loaded baked potato which was good but really stiff. My father had ordered fried chicken, French fries, and the loaded mashed potatoes. I believe everything tasted okay except his mashed potatoes, they were cold and had no flavor whatsoever. My bother ordered pancakes, eggs, and bacon. The bacon was way too crispy and seemed a little burnt. Angel was really sweet about everything and tried her best. Came in for a nice breakfast. Even tho there is a county mask mandate still and positivity rate still going up and a huge sign at the door, staff allow half of people in store without masks!
