After talking to a member of upper management I will try this particularly waffle house again. I made it clear I was not looking for handouts I simply wanted them to understand what happened. I was assumed that it will be handled. So I'm willing to give it another try. This particular waffle house is on a route to visit family so hopefully next time around will be better. read more

This was my first time at a Waffle House, if you can believe it! I've driven by them plenty times when in the south, but I've never actually stopped in to get food at one. We visited twice during our visit to Lexington, Virginia. We got both take-out breakfast and also dinner here. We ordered the following: -Texas-style Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Melt for breakfast with a side of hash browns (I liked this, but the hash browns were under-done -- I like mine crispier, generally). -Bacon Cheeseburgers (Mmm! Done just the way I like it -- medium well -- and quite tasty and filling. Is it as large as burgers elsewhere? Nope. But for the price, it's really worth it) -Pie (good slice of pie, but pretty standard) Our food was ready quickly both times, and the service was nice. Waffle was undercooked and bacon tasted fishy possibly old oil used. Hash browns were not crispy and were soggy. Told the server and she said it was cooked food. She also said the hash browns were cooked because it's brown. Food came out within 5 minutes which is not normal for the all breakfast we ordered. Everything was room temp or almost cold. After driving for 16 hours with my daughter from Missouri. We just wanted to order food and go to our hotel room and eat. We were told that they couldn't do any To go orders because they had "too much going on." Judging by Waffle House's location right next to the highway, its 24 hour schedule, and the dirt-cheap prices, the target customer seems to be truckers. I had never eaten at one before, but in the middle of a 5 hour long drive and in need of some food, a 8 pm breakfast sounded amazing. I had a large hashbrowns with cheese, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and ham and split an order of pecan waffles with chocolate chips. Apparently they are known for their hashbrowns, and if you haven't tried them before I would definitely recommend it - you pick a size, and toppings. It's kind of like a potato omelette. The regular/large/triple sizes seem to be just about right for side/meal/extra hungry portions. The waffle was just so-so, but pecans and chocolate are a delicious combination. If you have enough time to stop, Waffle House is a fine choice for its fast food prices, better-than-fast-food quality and portions, and 24 hour breakfast. read more

Waffle House is so good you just want to slap yo momma, so let's hope she is not in tow if you visit Lexington Waffle House. I have never had a bad experience at Waffle House. From the drunken excursions at 3 in the morn to a nice Sunday breakfast with the wife. Each time better than the last. Some Waffle Houses are more run down than others but they all are consistently good. Lexington Waffle House is new and updated and the staff was top notch. I have yet to find a place that cooks a better hash brown, crispy bacon and soft scramble eggs than what Waffle House dishes up. If your cruising down the highway pop into the WH and get a whole mess of scattered hash browns, it will make the rest of your trip better. read more

If you want down-home friendly service and a good greasy spoon restaurant with fast service, you will love Waffle House. The food is pretty much what you would expect to get visiting your grandma and she just has to feed you - breakfast, lunch or dinner. The hash browns are pretty awesome, the omelettes stuffed and over-cheesy, the waffles extremely good. Hamburgers and the rest are high fat and yummy. It's the Waffle House. Hash browns are amazing, topped, capped, peppered and smothered. I think I can eat them everyday. Believe it or not, the T-bone steak dinner is pretty good too. Sadly, probably the best restaurant in Lexington. They are open 24 hours a day and this comes in handy when you're returning from an all-nighter in the library. They are always friendly. Probably the only place in Lex where what you pay for is what you get. read more

I'm not understanding the "$$" rating. This food is so inexpensive, I don't even understand how they make a profit. My fiancé and I love going here, and it was ideal for Sunday mornings after VMI events. Their food is always delicious, but I warn you, if you try to go between 8:45 and 10am on the weekend during the school year, you'll have to wait 10 or 15 minutes generally. Besides delicious waffles, they have a jalapeño cheddar biscuit that they will serve with a delicious piece of grilled chicken... Heavenly and not too high in calories. If you're splurging, get the Texas melt. They serve it with crispy bacon or a slice of sausage. My fiancé gets the all star, which is so much Breakfast food, it will serve two people- for around $7! So if you're feeling hungry, come down and order a tall glass of sweet tea and enjoy some delicious and affordable food! read more
