Super quick, friendly, clean and cheap. Oh the food was really solid too. All this $11.75. What?

got protein banana strawberry the service is not that great to be honest , and there a noisy baby and parents not doing anything about it ! ,well put together well presentable pancakes I would eat eat it again and as far the restaurant not their fault it was a loud kid the parent should do better job keeping them under control I bet they would not like it if they finally got time to their selfs ,they had to hear other people baby's cry and scream besides that a avarage experimence I give the pancakes a 5 out 5 the service a 2 the atmosphere a t 1 out 5 and the cleanliness of the establishment a 4.2 out 5!

I ordered to go, the server asked me how much I want to tip before I put the card in, I did 20%, later I learned they already put 20% on all to go orders. Ok, whatever, as long as the food is good. I was very wrong, take a look at these hash browns, they are basically uncooked potato noodles.

This was my first time at a Waffle House, if you can believe it! I've driven by them plenty times when in the south, but I've never actually stopped in to get food at one. We visited twice during our visit to Lexington, Virginia. We got both take-out breakfast and also dinner here. We ordered the following: -Texas-style Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Melt for breakfast with a side of hash browns (I liked this, but the hash browns were under-done -- I like mine crispier, generally). -Bacon Cheeseburgers (Mmm! Done just the way I like it -- medium well -- and quite tasty and filling. Is it as large as burgers elsewhere? Nope. But for the price, it's really worth it) -Pie (good slice of pie, but pretty standard) Our food was ready quickly both times, and the service was nice. Would definitely visit again and I have no complaints.

    Uncooked Waffle

Waffle was undercooked and bacon tasted fishy possibly old oil used. Hash browns were not crispy and were soggy. Told the server and she said it was cooked food. She also said the hash browns were cooked because it's brown. Food came out within 5 minutes which is not normal for the all breakfast we ordered. Everything was room temp or almost cold. Stopped in to eat after our 14 hour drive and this was not pleasant.

Waffle is great. Hash brown is not done well (very soft and not crispy at all). Service is very fast and staff are very friendly.

I was hungry and not in the mood to move my vehicle from the hotel parking lot as street parking in Lexington can be a challenge. I arrived at about 9AM and the only other customers were 2 college age girls who never exchanged a word with the other since they were on their phones. I ordered a Hillel and a large coffee. The only available creamer was pumpkin spice which I'd never had in my life. What is a Hillel you ask? It was salmon, caper, onion, and cream cheese in a bagel for about 10 bucks, however either it was tasty or I was starving and would have enjoyed a spam sandwich. The college aged staff were reasonably friendly, accommodating, and my order was ready in a jiffy. The cafe is located on the campus of Washington & Lee University whose current president has a left-leaning agenda for its students. Not a bad deal for a quick meal if you're hungry. The portions aren't huge, but probably more in line with quantities more conducive to health, and prices are somewhat high. PS I don't like pumpkin -spiced coffee

I also got The Yardbird sandwich after the server recommended it. It's basically just chicken salad and lettuce between a ciabatta roll, but it was simple and great. And what the heck: I can't visit a bakery that has multiple sweets without getting one. I also listened to the advice of the server when she recommended the orange scone. She was right again! It was tender and tasted like a Froot Loop. Blue Sky is located on the corner of a busy street. There are lots of tables, but if you can, sit at the bar that looks out onto the street to see the hustling and bustling college town.

Sometimes, when college students leave great reviews, that means good food that isn't too expensive. True here, especially for what you get: generous servings on amazing bakery breads. I had the "Sorry Charlie" on a slice of focaccia -- topped with tomato slices and melted cheese and a satisfyingly crunchy, warm crust, with a simple but nicely refreshing black bean and corn salad. Dessert treats are also worth a splurge. The people couldn't be friendlier with customers of all ages enjoying themselves. (And they have a coffee bar. And a "speakeasy"!)

They have a very cute patio in the back of the restaurant. I got the Lex vegas, it was thick because of the puree. I didn't think about that, it wasn't as refreshing as I thought it would have been. My 6yo daughter had the waffles, I got the twoseez which was basically toast, scrambled eggs and bacon (which said daughter took), pre-teen son had a bagel sandwich, and wife had an omelette. My wife's omelette was extremely flavorful. What really made it wonderful was the owner's kindness and honesty. Knowing we were tourists asked us what we planned on doing and when mentioning the near by safari park, he said "oh don't play to feed the animals" which was exactly what we needed our kids to hear because two week prior the kids had a field trip to a petting zoo and my daughters class including her all got sick and I didn't want a repeat of that on our vacation... so thank you dude.
