The temporal, the terrestrial, the secular, puzzles me some human days, or most days. What does it mean, what statement about humankind does it make, when there is a waiting line at Waffle House? There was a waiting line at this Waffle House today! There was a waiting line at this Waffle House today! Bazinga!

It was my second day in a row taking a long road trip, so I needed some good food and coffee to sustain me on the beginning of the trip. I stopped by here to take care of that. I came here and it was pretty busy. I sat and ordered my food. I kept is simpler: scrambled eggs, raisin toast, tomatoes, and sausage patties. I had some water and iced black coffee to go. The staff here was pretty friendly, and got my food to me quickly. I checked out quickly, and continued on my journey west. The food was good, customer service decent, and the checkout was quick and painless.

Normally I stay away from Waffle Houses, I'm more of a Denny's guy. I don't think I've ever had a remarkable experience at a Waffle House until I've came to this one. The workers were what inspired me to write this, Jo and Dane were not only professional but courteous. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich with hash browns were perfect and Jo kept me entertained while always filling my cup of coffee. If you ever find yourself in this far away part of Florida, feel reassured that you're stopping at the best Waffle House in the county.

It's a set menu but when you call to reserve you let her know of any allergies or dietary restrictions. The meal for the day my mom and I went including a spinach and tomato quiche; hashbrown casserole, fruit and a pop over as well as water, orange juice and coffee available. Dessert was a chocolate and peanut butter crepe cake. The presentation of the food itself was beautiful, but the table and decor of the place was also adorable. A great spot to come and will definitely be back.

Dean Is yesterday's news. Why else would our third return still cause raves? While Savannah's Eliza Thompson House rules supreme for its local historic ambiance, the Grady House walks away with first prizes for food and caring staff in a historical setting. My point is that you'll have to drive two hundred miles across two states to find anything comparable to The Grady House. Real antique furnishings, real flowers, real hospitality, and very real people. It shines through in the Miller family and staff. The photos show the true to period decor of the home and grounds and its ambiance, as well as the exquisite presentation of the high quality breakfast. It's quaint, charming, and has that small-town, heartwarming vibe that makes you want to linger over your coffee a little longer. I ordered the Homemade Hash and Eggs, and it was almost perfect. The portion is hearty, so much so that I couldn't even finish it. But here's the kicker: the dish had absolutely no seasoning. None. Not even a sprinkle of salt and pepper. As someone who loves bold flavors, I found that strange. Thankfully, they had salt and pepper on hand, so after a generous shake (okay, several generous shakes), it turned into exactly what I hoped for: hearty, satisfying, and delicious. The coffee was solid but mild. I'm a "give me an extra espresso shot" kind of girl, so I would have preferred something a bit bolder. They offer basic creamer and sugar options, but I didn't notice any flavored coffee or syrups, so if that's your thing, keep it in mind. If you're a simple coffee drinker, you'll be just fine. What really sets Savannah Moon apart, though, is the service. The girl who greeted and served me was friendly and super sweet, exactly what you'd hope for in a place like this. She was genuine in a way that made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time here. Overall, this is the quintessential breakfast spot. The prices are average in comparison to most of the sit-down breakfast spots I frequent. It's not trying too hard, it's warm and welcoming, and it just feels like the kind of place you want to visit again (and I definitely will).

I was there for breakfast, and had a Lavazzo cup of coffee, corned beef/potato hash with two basted eggs, and it was delicious. The corned beef hash was not prepared by a chef with precise knife cuts, but how I would do at home--irregularly cut potatoes, onions--it looked like hash! My friend had Eggs Benedict, and she told me they were perfectly delicious. And guess what? Bill was right at $25! Our server was a friendly, attentive young woman, who took good care of us. Run, don't walk, for an amazing breakfast at Savannah Moon Bakery, in downtown Thomasville. Their downtown deserves its own entry on social media.
