What really sets Savannah Moon apart, though, is the service. The girl who greeted and served me was friendly and super sweet, exactly what you'd hope for in a place like this. The prices are average in comparison to most of the sit-down breakfast spots I frequent. What is so charming about the Savannah Moon Bakery, is that you feel like you are sitting in the Baker's dining room. I was there for breakfast, and had a Lavazzo cup of coffee, corned beef/potato hash with two basted eggs, and it was delicious. The corned beef hash was not prepared by a chef with precise knife cuts, but how I would do at home--irregularly cut potatoes, onions--it looked like hash! My friend had Eggs Benedict, and she told me they were perfectly delicious. And guess what? Bill was right at $25! Our server was a friendly, attentive young woman, who took good care of us. Yes, Savannah has closed and it's some kind of café now I went there today. I biscuits and gravy. I was not impressed. This is nothing biscuits were not cooked all the they were really gravy was not good and I ordered some squares to go. She said everything was the original recipe. I almost permanently looking possessed. My eyes will roll behind my head every time i eat here. It is mouthgasmic! Just like a Savannah moon, they light my insides up! I love everything: pastas, chicken pot pie, their country ham breakfast on a warm biscuit (topped with sausage country gravey) is my to go for breakfast there. Their pot pie is soooo good! The flakes crust and portions just right. They have great bakery goods as well. More importantly than the food, being Asian and temporarily working in Thomasville has been very hard. We decided to eat in. They have wait staff who will take your order and serve you or you can get carry out. Husband ordered a sweet tea, biscuits and sausage gravy and I ordered and ice water and the breakfast bowl with buttery grits, shredded cheese and an egg with a side of bacon. The food was delicious and served within a good time frame. My dish came with the bacon in it rather on the side, but after letting them know before they walked away, they corrected it quite quickly. I didn't get a photo of mine because I dug right into it. Two thumbs up! Note prices have increased based on the menus they have available in the photos previously posted. Two pc French toast went from $4 to $5.50, as one example. My husband and I ate for less than $20. Their restroom is a tiny space, but they have good hand soap, plenty of paper towels and tp & it was clean (aside from the floor that was a little sticky). Love, love, LOVE this little cafe/bakery in downtown Thomasville. We've been eating there for years. Service is SoGA friendly, Ben and staff are always welcoming and helpful with suggestions. When the weather allows, we always eat outside to enjoy the downtown Thomasville experience. Inside walls are adorned with local art, bright and sunny atmosphere. Heart of Palm Salad is my favorite with Savannah Salad a very close second. And I cannot leave without taking a half dozen Rosemary Butter shortbread cookies home. read more

I had to wait about 10-12 min for my order so I was impressed he remembered my name in the busyness of what he had going on! Such a personal and appreciated touch! We had breakfast here twice on our recent visit to Thomasville. The first morning I had the Eggs Benedict and my husband ordered the Western Omelette which was the special that morning. My Eggs Benedict was delicious! My husband said his omelette was excellent. On our 2nd visit, we both ordered the Corned Beef Hash with Eggs. Very good and each serving was generous. This place is a quaint spot on Broad. It took a bit to be seated, but that was to be expected with the influx of people for the 100th Annual Rose Fedtival in town. This led to the restaurant's only knock for me in what was a breakdown of communication between the gentleman who took my name and number of people and the rest of the staff in being seated. I don't recall ever seeing him after I gave him our party (2) information. We ended up seating ourselves. Ultimately, we were attended to by two servers that morning and once our second server was alerted to our presence we received good service. The first server was not supposed to be serving us. The staff was working very hard and moving as quick as possible. We could tell from our view of the kitchen that they were backed up on orders to go and delivery as we saw people and delivery drivers constantly going out the door with pickup orders. We ate a blueberry muffin while waiting for our food we ordered. The muffin was good and I would be willing to try some of the others the next time. For breakfast that morning, I had the stuffed French toast with the pecan crusted bread and bananas and cinnamon. I opted out of the powdered sugar. The French toast was good and I even enjoyed the texture of such a crunch version of French toast. My wife had a hash bowl which was loaded and very good as well. I look forward to trying Savannah Moon again for a lunch outing at some point. Our waitress was really good once things got figured out. read more

I was going to get the Tomato Bisque but I just had it that morning. Really inconsiderate of them...The Chicken Pot Pie was great. I loved it so much. I had that same dish once at the Paula Deen restaurant in Savannah and that had a bit too much butter. This was perfect, I really like it a lot. The Savannah Salad it came with was also quite tasty. I'll probably go here every time I visit Thomasville now. Although I have yet to try Liam's. Great and friendly service. Although I will say that the bathroom was very tiny. The Friday Night Dinner Club decided to make a midweek getaway to Thomasville for lunch at Savannah Moon. This is a quite charming cafe (their description) that I've come to be fond of. My preference was when it was first opened, and had scant decor. It's slicker now, with art on the walls and (drat!) matching furniture! So much for eclectic decorating. Seating is on the limited side, and we've seldom visited when there wasn't a wait for seating, and today was no exception. But it IS worth the wait. The wait staff is prompt and friendly, a point I appreciate in today's restaurant atmosphere. Today's special was egg salad sandwich with choice of side. Who makes an egg salad sandwich anymore? This one was dressed with bacon, tomato, and lettuce. Sided with the Savannah salad, it was pronounced very good. My partner ordered the chicken and artichoke sandwich with potato salad. Since this has become one of her favorite sandwiches, is it any surprise it was rated very good? Ed ordered up the hot pastrami. It seems to me that Sav Moon has reduced the portions. I remember this item with much more meat. At any rate, it was good. I started with the soup, Brunswick stew. I make a damned good version. The soups at Sav are prepped in house daily (try the crab chowder if it's on menu -- delish!), and the soups I've had have been way above average. Today, however, the cook fell short. What I received was a beef and vegetable soup that in no way resembled a traditional Brunswick stew. Maybe they do it different in Georgia. It WAS a good beef veggie soup, but not at all what I had in mind. I chose the Reuben for my entree, and sided it with potato salad. The Reuben was a bit thin on meat and sauerkraut, but had more than adequate 'Reuben sauce' (Thousand Island dressing?). The potato salad was bland, just potatoes and mayo, I think. It cried out for some help in the flavor department. I'd do the sandwich again but opt for the side salad. All in all not a bad visit, and I'm sure we'll go back.
