All-Star Special
Roman N.

I've heard many stories about the various late-night shenanigans that take place at Waffle House, as well as how good the food is. Seeing as it's a cornerstone of the southern experience, there's no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to try some. My dad, brother, grandpa, and I piled into the car and drove over to the closest location, which happened to be in Mount Pleasant. As we pulled into the parking lot, it seemed that everyone else in the area also decided that Waffle House would make for a good New Year's Eve breakfast: almost every seat in the restaurant was full, and we had to wait about ten minutes for a table to free up. The atmosphere of this Waffle House was very lively and welcoming. There was music playing on a jukebox, people were crammed into booths chatting with their families, and the employees working at the grill were singing happy birthday to someone that walked in. Additionally, the service was quick and our waitress was friendly. Immaculate vibes. Aside from the vibes, the food was great, with humongous portion at a low price. I ordered the All-Star Special, which came with a waffle (add pecans) scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, and toast. This food could easily be shared between two people; I unfortunately wasn't able to conquer this plate. The waffle was pillowy and dense, with the pecans adding a sweet nutty flavor. Their hardness also added a nice difference in texture. The eggs were firm. The bacon was slightly crispy (as time went on, it got crunchier), salty, and greasy. So good. The grits reminded me a lot of polenta. They were buttery and creamy, but didn't really have any flavor aside from that. From the couple of bites of toast I had, it was well-toasted (crunchy but not fall-apart crunchy). To reiterate, this was a great breakfast. If you find yourself struck with insatiable hunger, or just want to eat some great waffles, make your way on over to Waffle House in Mount Pleasant!

Waffle House hit the spot after the lumineers concert on Daniel Island. There were only two employees and they did a fantastic job!! They were pros and deserve a raise !! the hash browns are always crispy, crunchy perfection ! Also enjoyed a divine blueberry waffle - yum !! The eggs , bacon and toast also hit the spot . I don't eat at Waffle House a lot so I really appreciate the consistency of quality food and service . PS: be nice to the workers - they really are the only things keeping places like Waffle House open !!

Always a good choice for breakfast. Yummy hash browns, bacon, eggs, pork chops, and toast. Love the extra friendly service and you can't beat the prices.

What's left of a delicious pecan waffle and bacon bowl! I'm already stuffed !!

Why of course I can't give Waffle House 5 stars, then it would change! After as many years almost as I've been alive , Waffle House has been serving up great breakfast and other food. We were going to another high dollar local place across the street when my son and I both said, well you can't beat Waffle House!! I got a bacon and egg hash brown bowl and I HAVE to get a pecan waffle every time , even though I end up taking it home. It heats up great in the toaster or the air fryer. My son gets the all American double bacon with cheese eggs and raisin toast with a waffle , always ! This is the best Waffle House around hands down!!

There were four of us visiting the Charleston, SC, area, and we came here for breakfast on Sunday morning. Even though the parking lot is big and isn't shared by any other businesses, I got the last open space as we drove up. We walked in and took note of the two other groups waiting ahead of us, since the employees looked extremely busy and probably didn't notice the order in which groups of people arrived. All of the booths were occupied, and almost all of the counter stools and chairs were taken. All of the employees wore face masks, but some of the customers waiting did not wear them. Plexiglass barriers were attached to the backs of the booths, but, other than that, it was up to the customers to social distance. The four of us have been fully vaccinated, so we felt a little more comfortable being around people we didn't know. The employee who bussed tables started off kind of slow, because there were four booths and some counter spaces from which customers had left, and he didn't get to them quickly, even though there was a line of waiting customers. He finally stepped up his game. After he cleared and cleaned up a table he would look towards all the customers waiting and wave his hand to no one in particular. Whichever group was next went to the table, and I didn't see anyone in disagreement during this time. The four of us were given a booth at the end of the row, so we only had only one adjoining booth near us. Our server at first was all business, taking our our orders efficiently and confirmed our orders just to make sure she wrote down everything correctly, which she did. Food was brought out in the order that they were done, so all of the food was brought to us piping hot. Our server was great at updating us on our food coming out, and made sure that water and coffee cups were refilled constantly. She was funny too, making us laugh while quickly chit chatting with us every time she came to our table. Our group got the following: 1) waffle, ham, sunny side up eggs, toast and hash browns, 2) hash brown bowl with hash browns, sausage, cheese, scrambled eggs, cheese and jalapenos, 3) hash brown bowl with hash browns, sausage, cheese, over easy eggs and jalapenos, and 4) hash brown bowl with hash browns, sausage, extra sausage, cheese, scrambled eggs and gravy. Everything was so delicious and were perfectly cooked as orders. I loved that the hash browns were crispy on the edges, and the gravy had a nice sausage flavor. Everyone walked away with full tummies, as we all got big portions. Overall, this was a very good dining experience. Our server taking the time to tell us "Thank you, and have a blessed day!" as we were leaving our table was a great start to our morning!

As usual waffle houses like an emergency when you need something to eat and middle of the night while you're still working so you run there to get some protein basically this is my default restaurant in the middle of the night

Food was fast an full of grease. The roach on the sugar shaker didn't help the underwhelming experience.

Amazing Hospitality! Love the open coffee bar, and over all just a wonderful spot. Can't wait to…read morecome here again!!

My husband and I went to the Sunrise Bistro today for breakfast/lunch. We were greeted with a…read moresmile from the hostess/waitress. She never introduced herself to tell us her name. She proceeded to take us to our table and pointed in a corner to the "coffee bar". Code for "get your own coffee cuz I'm too busy to get it for you". That shocks me this establishment would have that sort of set up with the number of elderly peeps in the Charleston area. While we were there, a wheelchair bound individual was dining. Do you think she appreciated the "coffee bar"? My husband ordered a farmhouse omelet with a side of bacon. I had the bacon-chorizo eggs benedict. Both were very good. I was disappointed that the spinach and tomatoes that topped the benedict were not sauteed-they were raw. It was still a good dish. The highlight was the cup of fruit I ordered. I don't know if it was just cuz I've been stuck in Ohio without "good fruit", but it was freaking yummy. It was a combo of blueberries, blk raspberries, kiwi, fresh pineapple, strawberries, and an orange slice! All tasty. I had to chuckle to myself while eating. The wall adjacent to where we were eating had some "black board" messages on it. One of the postings was to rent the room area for your next party. As I sat eating my lunch, I noticed that every ceiling tile was sagging horribly from the ceiling and many were stained. Do restaurant owners not realize that ceiling tiles are pretty darn cheap?? These could be changed easily after hours. This place in particular closes at 3 pm. All in all, our lunch was very good, but some details of the operations and ambience detracted from a 5 star review.

We were able to find seats at the bar quickly but a table would have been a 30 min wait. I got a bottle of champagne (mimosa) for only $15!!! I've been to places where a carafe is $15 or more . The food and drinks are well worth it. My French toast was so good with the raspberry compote. We decided to give this a go, we have been trying different places during our visit. Based on…read morereviews we thought it's a good choice. We arrived and parking wasn't plentiful but it was a Sunday brunch so we accessed the lot close. We went inside to get on list. Told 30 minutes and it was exactly that. They had tic tac toe outside as well as tables. It was very warm inside and seemed like little airflow. We sat and asked a couple questions about what we had already decided on. I ordered the eggstravaganza, friend had similar, kids burger, kids French toast and a kids pancake. The kids burger was just mediocre, it wasn't house made but seemed a low quality patty. The child gave it a 5, kids French toast was ok to me, was eggy(which adults want) and made with challah bread. She didn't really care for it but ate it with cream sauce and other one. The kids pancake was gone in a flash! The bacon had great flavor and cooked well. The biscuit was a lil too doughy to my friend and I both(reminded me of a McDonalds biscuit) grits very creamy, eggs and sausage good. We all had waters to hydrate. I'm not sure it would be a must do if I visited again.

We came for breakfast and started with the banana bread with Nutella cream cheese -- absolutely incredible. We also split the cornmeal pancakes, which were so good we came back the next morning just to have them again. I ordered the B.E.C. with the home fries, and I can honestly say they may have been the best potatoes I've ever had in any form. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and they practically melted in my mouth. My husband had the turkey club and said it was fantastic as well. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and memorable. We loved it so much we went back the very next day. 10/10 -- highly recommend if you're visiting Charleston!

Everything was pretty standard and there was not something that we absolutely loved. The grits were a heavier dish while the avocado on the toast was more like a spread. The chicken and waffle salad had waffle "croutons" but it kind of just tasted like an older waffle dried up. The chicken in the salad was a little thicker than it should have been. The pimento cheese and crackers were very tasty. The ambiance is fast casual and it is very hush there. Our server Hamilton was very kind and helpful.

For food, I tried the fried catfish entree and Green apple-cauliflower soup. Both dishes were good. The fish was very tender and juicy. The butter bean succutash, which I never had before, contained butter beans, black eyed peas, corns, green and red peppers and red onions. It was delicious but since beans are of high FODMAP, I only had a little. The fish was topped with tomato jam made with crushed tomatoes, onions and sugar. It was served chilled. Paired well with the fish and succutash. The soup was creamy, silky, and full of flavor from cauliflower. The pistachio added some crunchiness to it. The taste of "green apple" was not obvious; in fact I was expecting there to be some apple slices, which could add extra texture and sourness to this rich soup. I also asked for a side of sourdough. A bit too salty for me. The service was kinda slow, except that food came out in reasonable amoutn of time **after I placed the order**, that is, I waited quite a while to order my food. The same for doing the check. I guess it was because there were not many staff at lunchtime, and most of them were senior thus could move as fast as young ppl.
