    Crab-ocado scramble (to go)

Not in this pic but their blueberry toasted biscuits are AMAZING! This is e breakfast establishment so they close at 2pm. Definitely recommend this place, however, I was NOT a fan of their collard greens. Too much of a sweet factor.

The Founders Special - corned beef hash, eggs, toast and hash browns. Yum!

As a first timer, I didn't know what to expect beyond the recommendations from my friends. Now, I say go - Eggs Up Grill is a good spot. We stopped in for brunch about 45 min before their 2:00 pm close, but the waitress quickly set us at ease; no rush. I had the "Founder's Special", corned beef hash, 2 eggs, grits or hash browns, and toast. It was so good I forgot to snap a pic before I started eating. Everything was done right, the toast was brown and crunchy, the hash browns crispy with soft insides, eggs just as I ordered, and the best corned beef hash I'd had in years. My wife went with lunch, ordering a turkey avocado BLT. It was so hefty that she took half home. Like my breakfast, her sandwich was just right - fresh and delicious. The Eggs Up Grill isn't pretentious. There are seats at the counter, and a good sized dining area with booths and tables. Clean and simple. It's not loud, so it was easy to enjoy our brunch time conversation. Our waitress was gracious and efficient, juggling us with several other tables without ever making it seem like anything but her pleasure that we were there. She was there when we needed her, and knew to leave us alone otherwise. I found out that The Founders started in 1939 in RI, and the modern Eggs Up Grill franchise started on Pawley's Island in 1997 by the Founders progeny. Maybe that's why the vibe is so relaxing: these Eggs Up Grill folks know what they're doing. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.

    Red White and Bacon Pancakes

When we first moved to Summerville 4 years ago, the Eggs Up Grill in Knightsville was awesome! But over the years, it has changed quite a bit. At first, you started making things more Mexican like, which ruined it. Now today, it's more like cafeteria food. This morning we ordered the red white and blue waffle and the shrimp and grits bowl and both of them were cold and not made well. The bananas were spoiling and you had to use syrup with the waffle just to be able to eat it. The grits were a hard solid mash with no separation of flavors. And the garlic toast was soggy and not like the way you used to make them with grill marks on one side and uncooked on the other. The magic was gone as it quite frankly tasted like slop today. We hope one day you will get back to your old style, which was cooking as a southern culinary work of art. Until then, I think we'll just look for a different place to eat.

The classic breakfast place. My husband and I love this place especially because of their service. They are very nice to our child and greet us with smile on their faces everytime. The time it takes for your food to come depends on how many people they have inside. This place can get busy which we understand. Food always come out steaming hot. The eggs are always fresh. My husband's bacon are always crispy. The food was nothing special which is true. You can make them at home but to be made how you want it to is what makes it special. Coming inside smelling all the breaskfast item they are cooking makes you tell yourself, yep it's morning. It puts you on a good mood. I love their price as well, it wasn't bad at all.

If you need a quick place for breakfast and have medium expectations- this is your place. The service was good and the table was only mildly sticky. We ordered waters and I ordered a coffee (which never arrived but I imagine to be good). The Philly cheesesteak Benedict was actually really good- I recommend it. The avocado toast was certainly something to write home about, but not in the way you think. It's a slice of mildly toasted bread with avocado spread and grocery store salsa thrown on top. If you're into avocado toast, this isn't the dish for you. We'll return and order better next time.

The menu offers exactly what you'd expect from a good brunch café -- a wide selection of breakfast favorites, sandwiches, salads, and plenty of coffee and specialty drinks to choose from. Prices are reasonable as well, typically running about $10-$20 per person, which makes it an easy option whether you're grabbing a quick breakfast or meeting friends for brunch. One thing that stands out right away is the clean and vibrant decor. The restaurant has a lively, welcoming feel that pairs well with the morning crowd. The staff were friendly and attentive, and service moved quickly, which is always appreciated when you're hungry. A modern touch that really helps the flow is their QR code payment system. The receipt arrives early in the meal, and you can simply scan the code and pay directly from your phone. It makes the checkout process incredibly smooth and lets you head out whenever you're ready without waiting on the bill. Food-wise, everything tasted great overall. My only small hiccup came with a salad that included corn nuts, which caught me completely off guard. They were extremely hard -- almost like chewing gravel -- and I didn't notice them listed on the menu. That one was partly on me for not reading more carefully, but it was definitely a surprise bite. That aside, the meal was very enjoyable and the overall experience was positive. Pros Very tasty food Reasonable pricing ($10-$20 per person) Great selection of breakfast, brunch, sandwiches, salads, and drinks Clean restaurant with vibrant decor Friendly staff Fast service QR code phone payment makes checkout quick and convenient Cons Corn nuts in the salad were unexpectedly very hard on the teeth Final Verdict First Watch in Summerville earns a solid 4.3/5 stars. With good food, fair prices, fast service, and a smooth checkout process, it's an easy recommendation for breakfast or brunch. The juice is worth the squeeze -- I'd definitely recommend stopping in. www.westayedthere.com Tik Tok @we_stayed_there
