Stopped in here for a quick bite between breakfast and lunch. The place was very clean and well set-up. The waitress was friendly and nice. We all chose breakfast options, but they had the salad bar up too. It looked amazing, big, and had a great selection. I was pleased because they wonderful bakery / dessert items that included sticky buns (plain, raisins, or nuts)....yes! So with my two, well-cooked eggs and toast, I was able to get a grilled sticky bun that was delicious. The creamed chipped beef was homemade and delicious and the city ham was also nicely grilled. All four of us were extremely pleased with our overall experience. Great diner! read more

This is a great little diner for good food! Their soups are always delicious, I think made from scratch. Food always comes out hot! The waitresses are nice! They keep it clean and nice atmosphere. Outstanding!! We stayed overnight in Indianapolis and were looking for a breakfast place on our route to Michigan. Yelp gave us several suggestions, and based on the menus we decide to try The Crossings. It's easy to figure out how the place was named, it's a small stand-alone building at the intersection of two state highways (yay - no strip mall!). Entering the place just screams "LOCAL", which can be very good or very bad depending on what the locals want! This place was definitely on the "good" side of local. First, I am a bit of a coffee snob, only from the standpoint of BREW IT STRONG. I really hate weak coffee, no matter how good the bean is. The coffee was a medium roast, very smooth, not bitter at all...and BOLD. Thank you! I ordered a Hoosier Omelette - sausage and cheese smothered in sausage gravy - that came with a side of hash browns and two pancakes. Everything was HOT, prepared well, and tasty - and the portions were huge. Loved how peppery the gravy was, the fact that the potatoes were nice and crisp and NOT greasy, and that the pancakes were nice and fluffy...and came with warm syrup. The service was wonderful - fast and friendly. The servers made the experience even better. The ambience is family owned diner - plenty of space, tables & booths. We had expected a good breakfast and got a great one...and at a very reasonable price. The owners of this place should be very proud! read more

My husband and I decided to drive to The Crossing Restaurant for lunch. The day was nice for a little drive from Greenfield. We really like their spaghetti with homemade meatballs! As we were driving there we decided we should try something different and we did! They serve breakfast and lunch/dinner items and close at 3:00 pm. I ordered the eggplant panini! It was very good to begin with. There was plenty of gooey melted cheese, toasted perfectly and a generous dusting of parmesan on the outside. It became bitter as I was progressing through the sandwich. I feel the larger slice of eggplant was the bitter part of that sandwich! I just dumped it off and ate the best toasty gooey cheese bread I ever had. I had fries and they were very good as well. My husband ordered the Chef salad and it was a very nice size as he could not quite finish it! This is a friendly, comfy place where the staff help each other out so the customer doesn't wait for cold food or drink refills. Our server, Lyndsey, seated us right away and was attentive to our needs as well. We enjoy this place and later we were thinking about our spaghetti and meatballs! We will be back soon! read more

This is my husband and I's FAVORITE breakfast place in Pendleton. I typically don't like stringy hash browns, but there's are crispy and I asked for it to be extra crispy - came out perfect. The service is impeccable. The waitresses are friendly and willing to work with any modifications. Drink refills come before you have to ask and the lady running the check in/out desk (Karen maybe?) is always friendly and sits us fast even when it's busy. Great restaurant, always clean, and amazing food. read more

Went a few weeks ago after hearing raving reviews about the breakfast here, there was a line out the door which is to be expected for Sunday brunch service. I think it took maybe 20 minutes to be seated. The inside was pretty loud, caters to a big family atmosphere. The service wasn't great, our server seemed very annoyed, but the food came out fast and was in my opinion fantastic. I got the farmers skillet (it's absolutely massive you could definitely split between two people) and I'm still thinking about it to this day. My mom was less enthusiastic as her eggs came out pretty underdone so as much as I loved my food I'm marking 4 stars for the service and inconsistency of food quality. read more

We have eaten here and have never had a bad meal. Even though they were short staffed, as many restaurants are struggling with this, the service was great. The staff is always friendly and very attentive. The menu is extensive. There is something for everyone. The hashbrowns are always spot on. The portions are large, so you never go away hungry. Great service with large portions. Weekdays are the best for breakfast. Friendly servers who even remember a previous order.

Really enjoyed the food! We had a group of 6 and 2 babies. They were very accommodating. It did take a very very long time to get the food and our waitress hardly came to check on us or give us refills but the food was good and there is a great variety. We would go back! read more

I met one of my soul sisters for breakfast here on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. not gonna lie - the first thing I saw was the pastry case. It's a tall one like in the older cafes. There was a GIANT piece of chocolate layer cake on the top shelf - in the BACK!! I heard Beatles music when I saw it - it was glorious. It's the second thing I asked our server about, who was super, by the way. She got it for me to go and said the same thing I was thinking, "so no one else gets it." Haha!! I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant with the egg over medium so the yolk was runny. It was served with hash browns. I'll be honest. I'm not a huge fan of hash browns (please don't judge me) but these were AWESOME!!! The breakfast sandwich was stellar, too. We paid at the register and they had local honey for sale - cash only though, so bring 10 bucks!!! I will visit here again for SURE! Oh! If they have the cake, get it and take it home. I've been here twice for lunch and just finished up dinner. Each time has been fantastic. We've had the chop salad with blue cheese dressing. The dressing is delicious, super thick, and definitely homemade. We've had the Greek salad a couple times because it is so good and the dressing is killer! My husband just had the Mediterranean shrimp and it was a ton of shrimp and he was really happy because it actually filled him up. And it was super tasty! We dipped our fries in his extra sauce! I had the gyro dinner and it was a ton of food... very good and very filling! The hostess was super sweet and the wait staff was nice and attentive. Overall, A great place to eat! read more

Came again, and we both had the California Benedict. This is one of the best Benedicts I've had anywhere. The hollandaise sauce was very flavorful and light, high quality eggs, toast, and plenty of avocado. Also ordered a side of sausage at our table which was also very good. Went there for the first time for lunch. Had a party of 5. All of us ordered something different and were all impressed. I had the Rueben. I get Rueben's quite a bit and this was right up there with one of the best I have had. My husband ordered the tenderloin. He said it was good. He is a big eater and had to take half of it home. We had 3 16 year old boys with us and they were all stuffed after. One ordered a breakfast skillet (breakfast is served all day). It was the meat lovers. He ate all the skillet but had his big pancakes to take home. My other son ordered the whiskey burger. The angus beef patty was big, large onion ring and a nice piece of bacon on top. We drove by one day and noticed the "Open" sign in the window, so we made plans to come by the following Friday morning. We arrived just after 9am and the parking lot was crowded. The restaurant did not feel crowded at all and we were seated by one of the owners. The service was great, the bathrooms clean, and the food was excellent. Good food. Servers should be better. Watched three stand around eyeballing me until the "official hostess" came to greet me. Had some B&G. The gravy had the same thickness as water. May want to add some flour. And if you want a refill on coffee it's quicker to run across the street to the speedway gas station and then come back to your table. read more

We just moved to the area a few weeks ago, and this is our first time at this restaurant. I am giving the server five stars, as well as the food... But I have to say that it was very embarrassing for me and my wife to witness the manager, or owner or whoever it was berate an employee within earshot of our table on our first visit ever. The server is obviously a key employee there, and a very capable server which is not an easy combination to come by these days. I appreciate the fact that people are willing to actually work during COVID-19, and not sit home and collect unemployment. Again, the food was good and the server was very good... But with that embarrassing incident I have to give it three stars overall. We will probably not come back. read more

Ate here twice. Both times we received horrible service from the same server. The server had no clue what was offered on the menu. The menu states "chicken salad on your choice of bread". When asked what the choices were, server stated we could only get it on a croissant. She then charged us an extra .99 cents for getting a croissant. The server was unable to tell us what was in the chicken salad, which is nothing but mayo and chicken. The server also about made my daughter cry because she ordered a "fruit and waffle" that came with her choice of fruit. She chose banana, was told she couldn't have banana, then was allowed to order banana. It was $65 for four people and very bland food. We will not be back and suggest not going there. read more
