I'll keep it short and sweet. My first dish was the Protein Plate grilled shrimp with roasted…read moreveggies ($16.80). The veggies were okay, but the shrimp were tough and lukewarm. The grilled veggies were definitely seasoned better than the shrimp. I also ordered the Zydeco Chicken ($13.20), which was really tender but salty. The zydeco sauce that came with these zydeco chicken was really good. If I were to return, I would not re-order either dish.

I didn't even know that the "Boudin Capital of the World" had this many people. The place was packed, and I visited on an off time on an off day. I guess they don't have any off times or off days. Our wait was quoted at 40 minutes, and it was fairly accurate. They have a full bar to grab a drink and chat with friends while you wait. You can also grab a drink and stand alone in the corner, but that would be creepy as hell. Once seated, I was ready for some food. My kid and I shared some of their firecracker chargrilled oysters, and they were wonderful. Ensure your order has charbroiled oyster,s and you will be happy. The table also had an order of fried onion rings, and they, too, were excellent. My entrée was fried shrimp. When it arrived, I was concerned as the batter looked a little darker than I am used to. One bite, and that concern went out the window. These were some perfectly fried shrimp. This is an awesome place.

This place was surprisingly good. I am not sure what I expected from a place called T-Coons but if…read moreyou're thinking good home Cajun cooking, you'd be right. We were in the mood for breakfast/brunch and I have to say it was the best breakfast plate I've had in a long time. I had 2 eggs over easy, hash brown potatoes, a large homemade breakfast sausage patty, and a buttery biscuit. I also sampled my husband's biscuits and gravy and I was a little disappointed I hadn't ordered that. The service was friendly but not over the top. We were initially confused about seating and ordering. But, our food came out really quickly, which is always a plus. It's very cozy and you should not expect any frills, but do go if you're looking for a home-cooked meal.

There's no host stand or clear seating system, so the entrance felt chaotic. We weren't sure what to do until a nice local told us to just grab a table. After sitting down, it took about 5 mins for a waitress to stop by with the menus. The menu includes both breakfast and lunch items, but the ordering process is confusing. We were told breakfast orders would be taken at the table and lunch needs to be ordered separately at the cafeteria style counter. My husband went to the counter to order lunch while I stayed behind, waiting for the server to return with drinks and take our breakfast order, she never did. The smothered pork dish looked worse than school cafeteria, and unfortunately tasted like it too. It was overly salty and the pork had a weird taste to it. Since we had already paid for the lunch item upfront and still hadn't been able to place breakfast order, we decided to cut our losses and went to another restaurant. Overall, wasted 35 mins and left frustrated and disappointed, definitely won't come back!
