Tragically, they don't have Waffle Houses in Minnesota where we currently live. So on our trip to Colorado, we made sure to stop at one. Upon our arrival, we were greeted and invited to sit at any open spot we preferred. Our server, Machkne (they/them) was fantastic! Super upbeat and conversational. More than once I caught them doing a cute spin announcing "Grand finale!" when bringing a customer the rest of their order. As much as I adore Waffle House (the brand, the ambiance, and THE FOOD omg) by itself, Machkne definitely added to our excellent experience here. They also wished us a safe journey home to MN. Our order was taken shortly after we sat down and our food was ready super quick too! My hashbrowns were oily, salty scrumptiousness and my blueberry nougat waffle was the sugary delight I'd been hungering for. Pricing was up a bit from what I remember buuut we are in the middle of terrible inflation. My meal was still just under $10, so I really can't complain! Bathroom was clean and comfortable. The A/C was on a bit cooler than my own personal tastes, but it offered a nice respite from the end of summer Denver heat (and probably is pleasant for the hard-working cooks). WOW, the staff here is IMPRESSIVE. It's 12:15am and they are absolutely PACKED in here. There is nobody walking out of here without a smile and a full belly. The music is great and they are literally singing in here. The staff all seem to be great friends and you can tell they love working together here and I can see the customer's and how appreciative they are. One of the staff walked out after their shift and literally they all shouted by and one of them even verified that they had a safe way home. These people care and they are like family. Sat in a booth where we were greeted right away. Drink orders were taken, then our breakfast order once we're ready. Blueberry waffles.... Undercooked. It had no golden brown tone to it. It was soft instead of a crispier outer layer. Adding syrup to it made it mushy Bacon egg and cheese hash brown bowl... Bacon was burnt to the point where it just crumbled in your mouth. Hashbrowns were undercooked to where the cheese didn't even melt into the hash browns because it wasn't hot enough Peanut butter waffles were also undercooked but hot enough to melt the peanut butter chips We were given our check 5 mins after the last meal hit our table. Waffle House is the place you go when you want a southern American diner experience. Don't be fooled by some of the memes you might have seen where Waffle Houses are crazy and filled with debauchery...I mean that does happen but only if you go at night, but what 24 hour restaurant isn't that way? If you go in the morning for breakfast you will find it to be a wonderful place with a caring wait staff that doesn't bat an eye when you order a ton of food. You can also order anything customized so you always know you are getting what you want. Make sure you don't just get hashbrowns plain, look at your options before ordering. I personally get them smothered, covered, and peppered. This means cheese, onions, and jalapeños. The waffles are great but that is no surprise. If you are hesitant about going to Waffle House, stop. So their menu states that all prices on the menu include sales tax and either they've got some hidden fees or they don't know how to do math caz the menu states double hashbrowns are an extra $1.25 and two toppings on hashbrowns are an extra $1 and the meal is $14.50, with the 20% to go fee it should be $20.10 and while it's not a lot more, I got charged $20.71 and that's after I saw the waiter wrote down 4.25 and I pointed out that's not what they charge for double hashbrowns. I accepted the extra .61 charge but they either gotta work on their math or be more upfront about what they charge but I'm not happy about almost being fleeced. The foods good but not sure I want to come back if they are going to try and sneak an almost 300% overcharge on double hashbrowns. read more

Came in and asked for jalapeños in my hash brown bowl and server made big deal about it and didn't add them in.

So we don't have Waffle Houses in So Cal so whenever we have a chance to go to a Waffle House we try to take advantage and go. You hear about all of the stories but both Waffle Houses we visited on this trip to CO, the customers were great. But the service was awesome at both locations. Here waitress Max would sing her order in and was just super friendly and makes the experience so much more fun. There were more customers in the restaurant and it was funny to hear that another couple just a few tables away was here on their way to the airport. We were too. The wife and I share the All Star special and it is so good. The sausage patties are awesome and we don't have a lot of places that sell grits in So Cal so it's always something we get when we can. Use to maybe service with a little attitude cause I'm from the south , but here oh my . It's such a nice feeling to come into a establishment be properly greeted and made to feel right at home . I always stop at a Waffle House because there isn't one near where I live in Lakewood. I lurves the pecan waffles and a girl needs a fix once in a while. My biggest letdown is I went to one in Savannah a few years ago and the line cook had perfectly spread the pecans for deliciousness in every bite but sadly most of the line cooks don't give that kind of TLC to the waffles. I wish they would but I don't hold it against them. There was really nothing wrong with my food and it was incredibly slow but the waitress kept trying to interact with my younger one and Yoda. My younger one tends to be shy but it doesn't bother me. Why I gave it 4 stars: the woman at a booth next to me has a sandwich that was burned and instead of offering a replacement or discount, he kind of shrugged and said he would do better next time. I was fortunate to have my friend and her husband take me around Denver during the first few days of my first-time visit to Denver. He drives and she doesn't. I had rented a car and had the original notion of doing what I normally do -- drive everywhere and try to soak up as much as I can about a new city. Unfortunately, my friend's husband fell sick. Towards the end of my visit, I went to the Butterfly Pavillion on my own. After my visit, I needed lunch, as it was the middle of the afternoon. I did a search and found Waffle House. I visited this one. I found a booth and plopped myself down. The booth was comfortable. As always, my go-to meal at Waffle House is the all-star special. My main goal is to get a waffle and devour it with maple syrup. This combo comes with a waffle. I also got eggs scrambled, with sausage patties, toast, and grits. I always get grits when I have the choice between them and hashbrowns. I loved my late lunch. The waffle was amazing and consistent, as always. The grits were perfect. My scrambled eggs and sausage patties were yummy. I also enjoyed putting strawberry jam on my already buttered toast. I washed everything with a Diet Coke. I got my bill, which is always hand-written. I paid the cashier and left. It's a decent location. It wasn't all that busy when I was there. My meal was yummy. Staff were friendly and efficient.
