    Medium rare Hawaiian steak
    Sara C.

Pricing has understandably gone up and the house wine is still pretty reasonable when compared to local restaurants. Stephanie "G Money" took care of us last weekend and did a spectacular job. She was amazing with the recommendation and was fast in bringing us food and our beverages. We really appreciate her! The ambiance has been consistent, the parking is a little tricky but loop around the back of the restaurant and you can find plenty of parking. I do think the pricing of the steak with $28 for a 12oz sirloin is a little steep, but then again, I'm comparing to chain where they might have a better cost due to the size of corporation vs small local business. We had the soup of the day with chicken rice soup and I probably should have gone with the salad as the cup of soup felt small. Tasty but really hot temperature, watch out for your tongue. The Hawaiian Steak was delicious, well marinaded and the cooking temp to medium rare was spot on in my opinion. I've been here a few times and their steaks are definitely... well seasoned. No additional sauces needed. I do think if you're on a lower sodium diet to call it out, as their chefs do not skim on seasoning here. Overall it's a great place to come for a date night, a little hole in the wall vibe with great food. Come check them out!

Truly an underrated hidden gem! This was by far the best meal of our Colorado trip so far. Your dinner comes with a side and a soup or salad. I made a reservation for two on a Monday just to be safe. There is a bar side and restaurant side. I chose the restaurant side because I like it to be a bit quieter for my meals. Our server Hector was a rockstar. Answered all our questions and gave great recommendations and checked on our periodically to make sure we were doing well. I ordered the 8oz filet with a salad and loaded baked potato. The filet was cooked to my favorite rare temperature and the flavor was exceptional. The baked potato was amazing and well cooked and topped off with bacon, cheese, butter, and sour cream. We also ordered a king sirloin with cowboy butter and another loaded baked potato. It was eaten so fast it was delicious. The side salads were a decent size as well. Our drinks were delicious as I ordered the Rosa Paloma and my boyfriend ordered their rotating ipa which was something made by Breckenridge brewing. The steaks are extremely well priced as our whole meal was $80 and the quality was top notch. A must try in the Denver area!

This is our new favorite spot! The food and service are both incredible and we have been going back at least once a week

We came with a large group that had an advance reservation. There were 30 of us. They had several tables together in the middle of the room. We were seated at the overflow table with 6 other folks. We arrived with the last group. Our table ordered drinks, those were delivered. We ordered appetizers and those were delivered. Then we placed our dinner order. All came out in a timely manner and our server made sure our waters were filled and that we had everything we needed. We got the warm bean dip and chips as an appetizer. It consisted of a bowl of refried beans with some melted cheese on top and a dressing sized cup of salsa. Both were tasty. I ordered the Mickey's Top Sirloin, as it is their signature dish. I asked for medium which should be pink. My husband went with medium rare which should be lots of pink. He got a baked potato with sour cream and butter as his side. I had the mashed potatoes and gravy as my side. Our salads came out and were good. The dressings were correct. The salads are mostly lettuce with a bit of additional veg and two slices of pepperoni. Our dinners came and mine was medium well if it was anything and the meat was quite tough. The brown gravy for the mashed potatoes was very salty. My husband said his steak was ok, it looked like what I pictured for medium. He also said the baked potato was good. Overall, our service was great. The food was so-so. If I was returning with a group, I think I will focus on the Mexican entrees. I know from past experience that they are top notch. I will note that while we arrived after the large group table was full and ended up on the overflow, we had ordered, eaten and paid and the large table who started putting in drink orders before we arrived had still not received their food. I know large groups can be tricky, but there was a reservation in advance and the restaurant was aware of the head count for staffing. So maybe this is a better location for smaller groups.

It was a really.. good.. steak. I was dancing in my seat so GOOD! My boyfriend and I both got the tbone steak dinner with salad and side. I got mine medium and it was a medium rare which is fine... just know that maybe it'll be less done than you think? Could depend on the cook as well. Also I feel like a tbone might be tricky to get an even temp throughout. I didn't love my Cesar salad.. it was like a store bought vinaigrette.. not bad but I wanted homemade.. maybe I'm wrong though. Margaritas are good and the service is what you would expect. This is not a fancy place but a very yummy place. I would spend my money here again gladly.

Great place to meet up with old friends. A real old Denver feel. Great steak good portions. The waitress makes sure that your meal is cooked to your liking. If you need a sweet behind try the skillet cookie a la mode.

I had dinner at Mickey's on Friday night - My experience was amazing. The food was impeccable and the service was beyond outstanding. My server was Adrianna and I have never had anyone treat me like she did. It was as if I was the only customer she had. She was absolutely the best. The porterhouse steak was perfect - No matter how much noise or chaos there is in my life, I always leave this restaurant feeling better. I'm not sure there's a greater compliment.

We've had a couple great dinners here with the family. This is a casual steakhouse with a variety of LOTS of other things as well. Not steak eater, cool they have Mexican and Italian too. They even have a welcome sampler plate to give you a feel of what they have. Ask for it, t h ey dont juat offer it up. Both times we've been the staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. Try. The. Cobbler.... I said what I said. The 1st time we passed because my niece wanted to go to the factory that makes cobbler up at Northfield after soooo what the boss says goes and I completely missed out. Don't worry it won't happen again lol Looking forward to coming back as it seems like a restaurant that everyone can agree upon.

Visiting from Out of state and received a recommendation from locals to try out Mickeys. We were a party of 6 and they added gratuity to the bill. Service was lacking and we had to ask for sides that were ordered water refills etc. Place was not busy as it was late so no real reason for the lack of service. Meat was not cooked as requested. I was told the Pork chop was Tasty, as was the chicken parm. Locals Said the cocktails are the thing to go for but our party was not drinking so can't comment on that. I did enjoy the wings with BBQ Sauce. Nothing memorable for me. 3 stars because half my party enjoyed their meals even though of the short comings. Very nice staff and at closing the kitchen verbally celebrates The end of shift. Was nice to hear.

Customer service is fantasic overall - top notch and very upscale. I loved the Colfax & Holly cocktail I ordered while waiting. It's their version of a Dirty Martini. I enjoyed most things we tasted, especially the Bread & Butter and Octopus appetizer. DEFINITELY the Octopus. Anyways, the Foraged Mushrooms were incredible too - lots of flavor and variety of mushrooms. The Black Truffle Mac & Cheese wasn't anything special, in my opinion. The most disappointing part was ironically the steak. I got something off their specials menu. Regardless, even friends I talked to before coming here said to get a number of different dishes, but there was no mention of meat. I didn't like any of the sauces either. So sad, but now my curiosity about G&G is satisfied! Either way, ending with the Carrot Cake was a great decision. I don't think I'd come here again, except maybe for happy hour cocktails.

Decided on A5 because 1) it's got some great appetizers / starters, 2) love the servers there, and 3) was in the mood to chow down on a hunka-chunka serious steak, and for the first time get a tomahawk slab o' beef that I had seen before on the A5 menu. Came in early on a Thursday night (6:15 pm) so the place was losing its happy hour crowd and had not yet been swooped down on by the hip dinner crowd. A great time to go. Could not have been better. Started with their crab and shrimp dip app and Japanese milk bread, both of which are stand-out non-steak items on their menu. Ordered the tomahawk steak which is ridiculously large (over 40 ounces (10 of which is from the large rib bone)) and ridiculously good (and ridiculously expensive . . . as in like over $225), along with an order of asparagus. Loved it all. Of course, we split the steak and had no room for dessert. Brought home probably 10 ounces of meat along with some other leftovers which will give us another night of good at-home eating. Bottom line . . . wonderful experience. Pricey but they made it a true celebration for us and it was well worth it. Go. You'll have a great time there, and if you don't want to blow a bundle and its your first time at A5, check them out at happy hour. It's probably the best deal for the best HH food in Denver.

We started with the burrata based on Yelp reviews and they weren't wrong. Super fresh tasting, and the focaccia paired with it perfectly. The sauce was deep and hearty and the pasta was exactly al dente. We split a strawberry guacamole sorbet and glad we did, it was larger than expected and absolutely delicious. Place has the feel of a modern restaurant, very sleek. This was by far the worst part of our trip to Denver... be warned. Parking: There is free parking in the back of the building. When we first walked in we were greeted and brought to our reserved tables upstairs. If you decide to try this place, get a reservation and do downstairs. There is so much more to look at downstairs! Instead, we were brought to a backroom that was much cooler(in temp) and had way less to look at... we felt "put into the corner." It was busy, and it appeared they were short staffed. It took a long time for our server to get to us. She was very sweet and I definitely felt for her, she was really trying! However, it took awhile to get our drinks, the complimentary bread came out after our appetizer and house salads... anything complimentary should come out right away. The food: We got the Rocky Mountain oysters and I actually thought they were good! The cocktail sauce is very tomato forward and the "horseradish sauce" was a joke! There was absolutely no flavor and I am convinced it was just sour cream! If you do order these, ask for their ranch- it was dill flavored and delicious! The house salad was good But wet... like I had water on my plate. If you want a Caesar Salad it will cost an extra 7.50!!!!!!!!! Why!? That doesn't make any sense! The complimentary sourdough was good but the whipped butter had no taste at all... we had to sprinkle some salt on it for it to actually taste decent. We got the New York strip 16oz and the Elk steaks. The New York strip was the worst steak we have ever had! It was supposed to be cooked to a medium but was definitely closer to a medium rare. The butter on top did not have any flavor and was pointless. It had a fair amount of fat on it and the crust tasted "ashy" to us. It was expensive so we ate it, but terrible! The mashed potatoes were not mashed well! I had a whole potato in it! The veggies were mushy and overcooked. The elk steaks were actually very good! I would recommend that! The wild rice was brown rice with a few wild rice pieces... and again mushy veggies! The total price for one alcoholic drink, one bottled soda, a half order of Rocky Mountain oysters, the New York strip and elk steaks was over $200 with tip. We went to the restrooms afterwards and they were disgusting and dirty! If we are spending over $200 on a meal it better be great service, food and ambiance! This missed the mark HEAVILY! If you do feel the need to go here, get a table downstairs, make a reservation, get the Rocky Mountain oysters with the dill ranch and the elk steaks.

Quiet and cozy with the Rat Pack looking on, the mood was chill, anticipation high. Service is consistently attentive, prompt, and friendly here. Jason greeted us warmly and followed this with soft, warm bread with Anaheim-spiced garlic butter that we could have filled up on and left happy. It's stellar. Drinks arrived quickly: my Great Divide farmhouse ale and a potent White Russian that had mom in silly mode. Mom took her salad to the woodshed. My cup of green Chile corn chowder hit the spot. We were stoked when our server from my last birthday brought our entrees. It felt like home. While the "Sugar Steak" is their calling card and a number of topping combos are available, we went for straight up beef. No regrets. Medium rare? Perfect. Mom's filet mignon torched the one I had at Gallagher's in Las Vegas a week ago--at a much better price. I tried the wagyu coulette (picanha). Unbelievably tender, it's my new Bastien's fave. Side and soup or salad come with your steak--none of the a la carte nickel-and-diming found at most steakhouses nowadays. This sets Bastien's apart. We enjoyed the twice-baked potato and white cheddar mashers. I can vouch for the loaded baked potato and French onion soup, as well. Overall, Bastien's offers unique ambiance, stellar service, solid steaks & value that fancier spots don't have. No BS service fees. It feels like they are here for you, not the other way around. The visit started off rocky but she sure knew how to make it a memorable experience. She is definitely the right person in her position. The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, & the gal (she has short brownish blondish hair & a smile and attitude to remember... she genuinely cared both times) who melted our butter not only this time but last time was such a wonderful cherry on top. We will return to this establishment and definitely recommend.

The establishment has a fun vibe and is tastefully decorated. The live dj was fun to watch and listen to. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and even the wine list. They made great recommendations for food and drink pairings. They were very attentive and friendly throughout our whole visit. The bread that is provided as a starter was light and fluffy. It came with a great whipped butter and olive oil. I ordered the lobster pasta and it was amazing. It was a little spicy for me, but the tomatoes added freshness to the bite. They added a lot of lobster so the price felt fitting. My partner got the Australian steak. The meat was very tender and perfectly cooked. We also got the Brussel sprout which were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. We ordered a chocolate lava cake for dessert which was delicious. The cake was moist and melty on the inside. The berries and ice cream added a lot of flavor and freshness to it. They validated our parking for the garage next door which was a pleasant surprise. We really enjoyed our visit here

Additionally, our server, Ryan C. went above and beyond and sat down with us to accomodate dietary restrictions for my brother in law and was very thorough with what he could offer for alternative food options. His quality of service was exceptional and was greatly appreciated. Sitting on the patio was a vibe as well and is an excellent place to grab drinks. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great spot in Five Points.

After reading other reviews and checking out photos beforehand, I knew the Colorado lamb was a must-order. It's not something I usually go for, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Absolutely worth the hype. We also ordered the birria short rib and hickory smoked picanha, and both were solid choices. The shrimp and corn grits were amazing, and I really loved the aged cheddar mac and cheese. Other dishes like the chickpea croquettes and the chili relleno were also pretty good and rounded out the meal nicely. The wait staff was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself has a cool, lively vibe. The only minor downside was that the outdoor heaters were a bit too hot, but that's a very small nitpick. Overall, an easy 5 out of 5 stars. Great food, great service, and a place I'd happily come back to.
