This was the worst Waffle House experience I've ever had. We waited for long time before anyone acknowledged we had sat down (they said sit anywhere when we walked in). During that time, multiple other people came in and were attended to right away. After complaining to the staff about how no one had come to our table, they finally took our order. They never apologized or even recognized that they had ignored us. It was then a long wait for two waffles and a side of bacon, during which time the people who came in after us got their food, finished, and paid. When we did get food, everything was cold- except the prepackaged butter which was melted. It was the worst waffle I've ever had at a Waffle House. To top it off, the table was dirty when we sat down and was never cleaned. The air conditioning was on full blast, even though it was chilly outside. I had to get my sweater from the car because it was so cold inside, but I didn't need it outside. Overall, I recommend you skip this location. read more

Waffle House (a national chain, of course) is one of those entities that is more likely to generate negative reviews than positive. Not because there's nothing "good" about it, but because there is forever a ceiling on how good it can really be. Like Denny's - honestly, how truly "good" is a Denny's ever going to be, yet I've had plenty of perfectly serviceable meals there. So let's give Waffle House a break. From their website "Waffle House restaurants have offered the unbeatable combination of good food with outstanding service since 1955. Each restaurant is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year." 65 years in business - must be doing some things well. Indeed, our food has always been "good" (granted, it's kind of hard for eggs, breakfast meat, hashbrowns, toast and waffles to be "bad" but I'm sure it's possible). And, kind of fun to watch it prepared on the flattop right in front of you. Not Starbucks, but if freshly brewed, the coffee is perfectly fine. They also have burgers, sandwiches, steaks and pork chops, but we've never deviated from breakfast. Don't know that our service has generally been outstanding, but it has never been rude or "bad." And a really nice vignette from our visit last week. A family with 4 kids took a table and two adjacent counter seats. Our wait person was theirs as well. The kids were well-behaved but antsy. While they were waiting for their food, our wait person took them over to the (electronic) juke box, put in a dollar (don't know but wouldn't be surprised if it was out of her tip money), and let the kids choose some songs. I take back what I said - that really is pretty "outstanding" service. Waffle House - the chain and this location in particular - is what it is and I like what it is. Fun - a little bit of a throwback. Kind of pleasantly quirky. Consistent Yelp 3-star A-OK food. And apparently some really cool people work there. I would not recommend this restaurant. The Server at the front counter with the Glasses is extremely rude. They gave us dirty silverware and refused to give us a glass of hot water to clean them. In addition to that we tried to place a to go order an were told if we want to leave we would be charged a 20% fee. I am more than disgruntled with my visit. I will never return to this Waffle House. I don't know if we have this in California but I was traveling to a bunch of different states and kept seeing WAFFLE HOUSE. Decided to try, the service at this location was great! Everything was really cheap. Probably not my go to, compared to NORMS but really it's so affordable and it's good. :) I like their hot sauce, biscuit n gravy was good. Waffle was great. Wow. As I recently moved to Colorado from the east coast, I thought Waffle House was all over - it was awesome being able to grab one last meal there on the way to the airport. So, I was pretty blown away when I saw the Pearl Street location here in Thornton...I though the franchise stopped its locations somewhere around Texas, but I guess I was mistaken. Just as good as all the east locations, with the only difference I saw being the thatched red roof outside. I got the opportunity to get the first serving of that big ass pot of grits that were cooking when I first walked in, along with my mainstream pecan waffle, bacon/chicken/cheese sandwich, and large order of jalapeño hash browns. We waited 10 minutes for the server to take our drink order. My little girl had to go through 3 requests before she found something they weren't out of. I ordered iced tea and theybrought sweet tea. 10 minutes later she decided to take our food order. We waited 40 minutes for SOME of our food. I got steak and eggs and when it showed up it had no steak knife. My mom's food was ANOTHER 10 minutes. Get this...it was a waffle and Gavin. The steak was inedible. We won't be back. read more

Thought I'd update this review since I've been back in a few times since my initial visit. The preparation problems that existed the first time have not become a recurring theme. The portions are always generous and the night crew seems to enjoy their work. There's not much else to say--its a well-known greasy spoon with a limited menu that helps them prepare the majority of those menu items properly. Lemonade doesn't come out of a fountain and instead uses a mix. It seemed to be very weak flavor wise. read more

The food, had a Texas sausage egg melt & hash brown w/ country gravy. GOOD stuff. I think the all star breakfast has way too much food and I don't care for their waffles so I get one thing and one thing only when I'm here: lots and lots of bacon and eggs. This will be short & sweet. Fast friendly good diner food. This location is small and right off the corner of the street. Stopped by here instead of all the drive thrus surrounding it. I was pleasantly surprised. All the workers and staff were great, especially May Day she's a sweet heart and my favorite. The other ladies and girls are also wonderful. We same here one night around 1AM. We got a bite to eat. We cane basically to relive the old days. Umm the old days died and this place sent down hill. Ok, the food is grill cooked with lots of oil. That's what this place is known for. However, it was extra greasy ( the stuff left on the plate could have been used for more eggs). The coffee old tasting even though we watched them just make it. The wait staff (3 of them) seemed to not care there was customers. Once they took our order, we had to get their attention​ for more coffee and more food. They all kept going in and out of the restaurant... I'm gonna guess to smoke, but the nasty part is not one we saw wash their hands. There was one lady cleaning the ceiling or close to it. read more

Went to Waffle House for the first time today and it was definitely an experience. My server, Kristin, was fantastic. She had the cutest British accent and such a warm smile. My butt head of a boyfriend whistled at her to get her attention because we did wait about 10 minutes to get someone to acknowledge us, but as soon as Kristin saw that we needed our table cleaned and order taken she immediately stopped what she was doing and came to the rescue! Waffles were decent, but it seems like their other items on their menu needs a lot of work. I ordered one of their breakfast bowls and their hash browns, sausage, and egg weren't good. They were bland, greasy, and you can clearly tell they were previously frozen. On top of that, the staff started playing music out of their jukebox and was singing along like it was a hip hop concert/karaoke club. I'm all some music playing, but bad karaoke while I eat spoils my appetite. They would have been better twerking on a table next to me... Okay maybe not that either. read more

I told my hubby I had never been to a Waffle House and the next thing I knew he pulled into a parking lot of one. He said had been in one back in '69 and he bought me a stuffed dog. We were driving from Rockford, Il to Indianapolis so he could introduce me to his parents before we got married. I remebered the dog. 40 years between visits! The Waffle House did look like it had seen better days from the outside and the parking lot had the tired, grass in the cracks look. Inside it was just what you would expect of an older diner that hadn't been updated in some time. You could watch them cook your food. It was very clean and the waitress was very friendly. We sat at a low lunch counter with perfect, wide bottom chairs. It was very comfortable. and I could see myself sitting there for hours drinking coffee and talking. They do offer 15 different meals for $5 each, including drink. Seems like a good deal. They do not have french fries, only hashbrowns. The servings we got were smaller in size than I expected. The sweet tea was very good. Maybe at a waffle House you should order waffles but it was too close to dinner. i ordered a bowl of chili. It was too sweet for my tastes and had big hunks of onion and peppers which did not sit well. Although the jalapenas were more tangy than spicy. I had an oniony taste in my mouth till I brushed my teeth. My granddaughter (Miss picky eater) ordered a cheese burger. It was seved plain, which was good. Usually places slop on some sort of sauce on the bun. But everything she could want was sittng before her in the serving rack or on the side of her plate. So she could fix it to her tastes. It wasn't a spectacular dining experience but it was ok. I didn't think the food we had was wonderful but it was good. The only complaint was about my chili. I'd like to start by saying I normally like Waffle House. Last night however was a major disappointment and I probably won't go back to this location. Anyone who's been to this location knows that the service is usually slow, but last night it was quick. Everything was fine until they started cleaning the floor. Whatever they used smelled like rancid human waste. The smell was overwhelming. I'm not a person who doesn't clean my plate but there wasn't an option this time. The person behind the counter acknowledged that the cleaner smelled bad. Why would you clean the floor if your cleaner smelled like that while customers ate eating??? I can't believe that I live only 10 minutes away from this place and have never been in! The bf and I were feeling particularly lazy last Sunday morning. (I am sure it had absolutely nothing to do with the time we drug our asses to bed the night before...that's another story, though). We were greeted with a packed to the brim restaurant with two bar stools left. Sold! Our waitress was really helpful and answered all of the questions we had with ease. I like how you watch your breakfast being prepared. I was super impressed with how hard the cooks were working. They were hauling ass to make sure that our stomachs were full in no time. I had the ham and eggs with extra hash browns (I needed the carbs that morning). The dude had waffles, eggs, grits, and bacon. My eggs were cooked perfectly which is a huge indicator to me of the skill of the chef. I was also really impressed with the grits...they were nice and creamy. Went here on a Saturday morning. 'twas busy but I was seated immediately. The server was a little overwhelmed because we were seated at once and she was putting in orders and slinging food. She was courteous from the moment I sat down. Explained there would be a little wait and why. She took my order for food brought me my soda and made sure it was always full. Ordered the all star special with a butter creme waffle. Eggs with cheese. Grits and side of ham. No complaints from start to finish. My eggs were spot on and extra cheesy. The ham was nicely cooked. The waffle was cooked to perfection. And the toast with the right amount of butter. It's no syrup jelly or snooze. It's a dive for the working man who wants a hearty meal. I've been looking for a breakfast place like this since I've moved to Denver. I've never been to a Waffle House before so I didn't know what to expect. It was very pleasant surprise when I walked in and the staff greeted me in unison. Oh my, this place is TINY!!! The breakfast is all quick bacon and eggs stuff, which is perfect for me. The coffee was light, but good and my only complaint is the toast was soggy... not really toasted at all. All in all, a pleasant experience. I debated between 3-4 stars.
