Waffle

This is one of the best waffle houses I have been too. We were at the Cracker Barrel down the road and after sitting at our table for over ten minutes without being served we left and came here. The minute we walked in we were greeted and our waitress immediately came over. We placed our order and the food was out very quickly. Everything tasted great. If you are in the area I would recommend them over the other places.

Ham, egg and cheese hashbrowns bowl at Waffle House, Walterboro

5am breakfast because I didn't want to keep driving the interstate in the dark. Ham, egg and cheese hash browns bowl was perfect. Friendly waitress, clean-ish table, great coffee, clean-ish restroom. Five stars! [Review 19123 overall - 917 in South Carolina - 93 of 2023.]

Had a breakfast coupon from our stay at the Econo Lodge. Egg, sausage, grits and toast. Breakfast was served quickly and hot. Friendly waitress kept the coffee cups filled. Hand dryer in bathroom didn't work and no paper towels available. The place could use a top to bottom scrubbing but the table surfaces and eating area was clean. For the convenience and free breakfast I would eat here again.

Even though I've lived only a few miles away from here for nearly 13 years, I've never stopped in. Today I changed that and decided to get some breakfast. The service was pretty good. I found them to be polite, friendly, and courteous. The restaurant was overall clean. Bathrooms (despite how my pictures look) were also clean, the dingy look must be stained into the tile. Food was cooked well, with the exception of the sausage, it was very overdone. Waffle was delicious. Not a bad stop for the price. It's right off exit 53 on I-95, in South Carolina.

Why can't a Waffle House serve fully cooked Waffles. It does not make sense we go to the Huddle house and they get it right. The table and utensils were dirty Waitress was great and recooked the waffle but still uncooked in middle. The place smells of bleach very strong You don't need that much. At least they had chocolate pie. We have gone to 2 others and neither on had any defrosted because it doesn't sell if so take it off the menus

Outside waffle house

Horror show. Absolutely disgusting bathrooms, greasy food and an icebox. Freezing air conditioning and we complained and they did nothing! Served us raw hash browns and greasy, burnt bacon. DO NOT STOP HERE!!!!

The service was good, the food came fast and a lot of food for the money but the food was mediocre at best.

Many things were very great about this experience, but there were also many areas where it was…read morelacking. Host: The host was extremely kind and greeted us with a little Fourth of July dance. It made us feel welcomed and like we would want to come again. 5/5 Waitress: Though she was nice, she was absolutely horrible at "being a good waitress": lack of refills, never getting the sauce we requested, walking around doing nothing. We noticed that the other waitress was on the ball and serving double the tables many times quicker. 1/5 Kindness: All the workers and even the customers were very kind and treated us very well. There were very many "excuse me's," "my pleasure's," and "no problem's." 5/5 Prices: They were not too bad, but they have definitely risen over the past few years. However, nearly all prices have risen, so I guess we can't hold them too accountable. 3/5 Waiting Time: The waiting time was a little disappointed. We noticed that it wasn't very full, and there seemed to be many workers on duty. However, it took well over thirty minutes to receive our food. In addition, we didn't get refills until we were halfway done our food (so around 35-40 minutes). 1/5 Food: While my food was amazing (trio deal), my fellow guest's food was disappointing. For the long wait time, we were expecting it to be amazing. However, the steak was tough and had little flavor, along with the baked potato, which lacked butter and sour cream and was dry. 2/5 Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean and had very little visible blemishes or dirt. The wall of the booths were a little dirty, but not too bad. 4/5 Paying: We had to wait a while to pay because server was nowhere to be found (which by at this point was expected). We were ready to leave for a while and simply had to sit there. 2/5 While this review contained many fives, the main reason we came (the food) and the overall experience was very disappointing. I never understood why so many of these restaurants were closing down, but after this experience, I finally understand why. To average the numbers, it lands on a 2.8/5, which rounds up to a 3.

Stop one exit north. Many more choices for food options there…read more Walked in 2 people were waiting ahead of us. By the time we left there were 10 people waiting. No one working acknowledged any of us waiting. Waitresses walked by and didnt even make eye contact or say give us a few minutes. Plenty of people working were just standing around. Left after waiting about 5-10 minutes.

The employee who brought us our coffees was pleasant, friendly, and efficient. I love blueberry pancakes, and I knew as soon as I looked at their menu what I was ordering. The Pancake Breakfast comes with your choice of pancakes (blueberries always of course), 2 eggs, and choice of meat (bacon for me, tyvm). Cracker Barrels line their walls with such interesting pictures and it was really nice just sitting, relaxing, and scanning the walls while waiting for my pancakes. The pancakes were very good with the exception that they might have been cooked a tad longer to create more of a golden brown color, however the inside was done so no harm done. Before I knew it, my plate was cleaned, my coffee cup empty, and it was time to get back on the bike. A good meal, pleasant service, and a relaxing stop is what you'll find here. Be sure to check them out.

From the first phone inquiry to the experience in the restaurant, the people were genuinely polite and welcoming. The atmosphere felt calm, relaxed, and easy. The food exceeded expectations. The Cobb salad was especially good - fresh, well-balanced, and thoughtfully put together, with healthy ingredients and no bacon, which I appreciated. The shrimp tacos were excellent, topped with a slightly sweet/spicy, mysterious sauce that worked really well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!!!

The staff were all very polite and friendly. We were seated quickly with drink orders taken. It took a few minutes to get the drinks, but thats OK. A larger table was seated before us so its all good. We placed our food order of the Loaded Fries for an appetizer, 2 Killer Club sandwichs(pesto on the side)with fries, Secret Philly with onion rings and the Blackened Fish Tacos with the chips salsa and queso. The Loaded Fries were delicious! Plenty of bacon and queso on them. The Philly was delicious, onion rings hot and crispy. The kids loved their Club sandwiches. They were HUGE and the kids could have easily split one. The Blackened Fish Tacos were the only negative on our trip. They were pale colored, hardly warm, and the slaw was soggy. Honestly they were aweful! My husband tried a bite and said it tasted like it was from yesterdays trash. I have seen tons of good reviews on them so I'm not sure if they have been changed or I got them on a bad day or what. I hate sending food back, so I just ate them. I tried throwing pesto from the clubs, salsa or queso on bites trying to make them better, but nothing really helped. Overall we will definitely be back again, just not ordering the tacos!

Although I have been to waffle House, which I'm sure I reviewed prior. I came in around supper time, 6:00 p.m. or so, and it was probably at 75% capacity. I sat at the bar, after being welcomed by a local fully equipped with his own Skynyrd beer koozie!! Hahaha! They have karaoke, and they karaoke DJ spinning all the good country hits, literally emulating exactly what I play at home. Anyhow, the local that pulled my chair out essentially, told me that the "bartender sucked" But in good ole down home local fashion, she clapped right back, and obviously he was joking cuz she is phenomenal. Despite having a completely full bar, and waiting tables, she acknowledged me almost immediately. Even sat down in the bar stool next to me to take my order and chit chat and go over the menu with me. I think her name was Alicia, but regardless she was outstanding! I ordered hot wings and lemon pepper wings. They came out really fast, really hot, and really good. I kind of wish I had room to order another entree, but it filled me up. As I waited for my food, I was suddenly engulfed by an entire group of locals. Now this place, is the mature crowd, and they were so nice they sort of took me under their wing! This is the epitome of down south hospitality. I've been holding out on coming to this place for a few years now, and looking back, I wish I would have came a lot sooner. I hate using the term "vibe", But this is totally my vibe. Great food, great service, great locals, laid back atmosphere with music playing and karaoke? You just can't beat it. I have responsibilities, so I had to leave really early, but rest assured, I will definitely be back. I mean who else is going to sing Jason Aldean on the karaoke machine? Thank you skynyrd's, thank you Alicia (I hope I remembered your name right), such a great experience and I'm sorry I had to cut it short! We've never tried Captain D's but Jeremy really enjoys fried fish. This seemed like something he could eat while driving, but alas they were out of fried fish, and about half of their menu including condiments such as ketchup and cocktail sauce. Nevertheless we were able to cobble together two meals, and neither of us had any complaints. Jeremy had fried shrimp and popcorn shrimp with hush puppies (I love how many restaurants in the south have these on their menu. These were perfect, if not a tiny bit too salty). I had chicken tenders (they actually had honey mustard dipping sauce, which is my preferred sauce when it comes to chicken) and some amazing cole slaw (not mushy). Even though we couldn't have several of our first choices (out of jalapeno poppers), what we did eat was crispy and delicious. I wouldn't mind trying Captain D's again, sometime in the future, when we're on yet another epic adventure. Sorry no pics. It was difficult to juggle the clambox containers on my lap in a moving vehicle.
