I stopped in and sat at the bar around 0830. I ordered Cheesesteak and Cheesy eggs breakfast from the menu. When it arrived there was dry cooked beef and a scrambled egg. No cheese. I asked the waitress why Cheesesteak wouldn't have cheese. She explained it only has cheese on the sandwich. I then asked the cook why the Cheesy eggs had no cheese. He said he was new. The waitress explained that because I ordered scrambled eggs there was no cheese. NONE of that makes sense to me! read more

I've stopped here for years and never noticed anything out of ordinary until now. The kitchen was absolutely disgusting and when they made toast they just dropped it on a cutting board that had old food and dirt on it. I asked the manager if that is normal and she seemed offended and said that it was perfectly normal. It was absolutely nauseating to see and I will never eat here again for sure and probably just boycott waffle house period. I wish the health inspector would've seen it. Went in for carry out. Simple right? Not so. After seating my wife and I readied to order. The restaurant had 2 maybe three couples, or pairs of patrons already eating. One of the Waffle House employees was busy cleaning floor, one or two was behind the counter obviously cooking and the other helping. Eventually a waitress 4th visible employee came to take our order. When the waitress arrived at our table I informed her our order was a "to go" order. The waitress informed me they were "short staffed" so they could not do or execute a "to go" order. Puzzled, I asked you can't give me a bag and let me put my own food into the bag. She replied "my manager won't let me." Weirdest situation I've ever been in. I could not understand how being short staffed and able to serve patrons in the dining room the 4 plus employees could not execute a take out order for two people. Essentially a couple sandwiches. I took the opportunity to do a sanity check, I talked to a customer in the parking lot who had just left the dining room. I shared our experience just to see if I was understanding or comprehending what just happened as stupefying or not. The other person was as dumbfounded as I. Normally I would write off bad service as just bad service but this one really has my curiosity tweaked, I have to inquire to the Waffle House higher ups. Oh, just to be clear, I asked the question twice, so the "misunderstanding" defense is non applicable. The waitress, was aware of the weirdness of the rule thus her quickly relenting to her manager being responsible for her response to our request. She didn't offer any additional information to help support their decision to not support carry out orders. Luckily I didn't order before I declared to carry out. And the servers are pretty nice, but the place is disgusting and I heard that the manager of the place is a terrible and doesn't do their job correctly. The Slow Reopening It is not always easy reopening from the COVID shutdowns. Restrictions still in place are taking their toll and a tight labor market is not helping either Pulling off I-70 we thought Waffle House would be a good place for a quick and tasty breakfast. High hopes are not always fulfilled. Their mask and social distancing mandates still in place continue to hamper operations. Seats at the counter had only one uncovered for customers. But since one covered one was occupied by someone chatting with an employee I thought it might be OK for us to take up two at the other end of the counter. Seemed reasonable and we got the OK from one of the servers. One section of the restaurant as closed off to further limit occupancy. It took a while for our order to be taken, but coffee did show up quickly. Overhearing the staff lamenting the staff shortages did bring up our concerns. When served, both of our orders were missing items, but when pointed out they were quickly fixed. I have noticed that across all Waffle Houses their menu has been reduced. As expected the food was good and the staff tried to make it a good experience, with management working through conflicting CDC, State, and local guidance, along with a strained local labor market, it looks to be an uphill battle for them. I do believe they will come out successful, but for now all I can do is hope. read more

There isn't a ton to say about this place. I'm rating it on its own "Waffle House" scale. I'm giving it four stars. That isn't to say this is a four star restaurant. I'm saying it is a four star Waffle House. The food is cheap, the service was fine, and the food was about what you would expect from a Waffle House. Another reviewer noted a smoking section but I didn't notice that when I was there. Perhaps that has been phased out. read more

Ordered soft scramble and eggs were overcooked. Grits were swimming in butter. I didnt eat either one and waitress didn't seem to even notice or care about my untouched plate when I handed it back to her or offer to have them recooked when I pointed it out to her . I'd give this location an average rating. The food is always served hot and service is always attentive. Waiters /waitresses range from nice to super nice. Order accuracy varies, but normally it's correct. Cleanliness is fairly clean and kept up with. It's one of the only few places open in Warrenton which is a sit down establishment late at night. You won't sit down and be un noticed here. They will get your drink and food order going fairly quickly, so if you need to eat and run, you will have no problem doing that here. It's nothing to avoid based on any particular reason, just your normal Waffle House experience. read more

Surprised by sparse waffle options here -- and none with fresh fruit. But I did appreciate the homestyle type, versus Belgian. Bacon was also a treat since I never cook that at home. Staff was prompt and friendly. This is a small place with the molded booths that are best for size 2 patrons, and encourage quick turnover for the rest of us. Very convenient to Holiday Inn next door. Hits the spot for travelers tired of the ubiquitous interstate-stop burger places. read more

This place is disgusting and ghetto. It is so dirty and the chefs don't even put their mask over their nose. The waiters weren't wearing their masks at all. This is not okay. We are in the middle of a pandemic and they got all of their germs all over the place. When we got in there, there was only 1 table that we could sit at and there was other people's SCRAPS on the table. We waited for 10 minutes then my mother went up to the waitress and asked if the table could be cleaned so we could sit down. She agreed and the table got washed with a dirty rag and dirty water. Worst Service I have ever received!! Four workers behind the counter only one approached me and got me coffee. Several minutes later after other patrons who came after me were welcomed and served I had to get the attention of 'Phelan" who seems so preoccupied with the regulars. Never again!! Cut the crap I live in Warrenton, Ive never worked at our wafflehouse let alone any of them. Im a former regular of the Warrenton Chain. Now before you jump to any conclusions about WHY its former, i meerly dont eat out any more. but i used to go nightly. Ive frequented many wafflehouses in the area and by far warrentons takes the cake. the shape is good, so is the condition, they keep it clean which is hard with mapple syrup constantly flowing. the food is good and well looked after. ive never had any reason to complain other than when they nixed boston cream pie from the menu. never saw anything unhygenic. Yes there was a cook there named shaggy, he was a good guy as can be seen by the fact that sarah had nothing bad to say about him personally. i didnt care for some of the staff myself. alot of them were dumbo's but just as many were good at thier job, same as any other place. in the last two years almost all the staff has been replaced and its alot friendlier with better service. All in all Wafflehouse in warrenton is typical. if your hungry and like waffles, you will enjoy yourself, but dont expect anything amazing. its better than fast food, thats why you went there in the first place. and if it is waffle house your looking for, come to warrenton. all the dumbo cooks were transfered to all the others in the area. im sure even sarah would agree if she came here again. My husband and I were traveling and stayed at a nearby hotel and decided to eat here. Must admit I was hesitant to try here, wasn't in the mood for waffles, pleasantly surprised by all they had to offer. Had a basic breakfast, eggs, toast, hash browns and coffee. Everything is cooked right in front and it was perfect! All of the employees were exceptionally nice and attentive to our needs. Glad I decided to step out of the box n try something new. read more

Passing through on our way to Missouri, we saw this was the best reviewed restaurant in town. Great service and great food. The restaurant was not smokey at all and we didn't even see any ash trays out. They cooked our food perfectly and were incredibly welcoming to us. Food was good. However there was a 8inch hair in my wife's food and two of the 8 pieces of silverware were dirty. The floor was outright disgusting, not sure when they swept or mopped last and they don't appear to move the chairs/tables when they do clean. The staff were nice and polite. They greeted everyone who came in, however were overly load and disturbed the rest of the guests. No need to be so load. read more

My husband and I love the Waffle House. All the servers and the cooks are very friendly and the food is GOOD. I especially like the Cheesy Eggs and the raisin toast. We hadn't gone there for years as it wasn't a very good place, but about 6 months ago we tried it again and now go at least once a week. We sit in non-smoking and do not smell smoke from that section. The ventilation system must take care of the problem. We used to always drive to Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel or Mimi's in Chesterfield, but on a day when we feel like staying close, Waffle House is our pick. read more
