I was not impressed at all with the food. My sister had the shrimp basket and zucchini fries. The shrimps were so hard we couldn't even eat it with a side of soggy fries. So, have you heard the old saying "the third time is a charm"? Well, for me it's "strike 3 you're out". A little back story on my first 2 visits. 1st time with a friend, had a breakfast/brunch which was fine. 2nd time I went by myself, everything was horrible. The service was non existent, I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was so dry and old or overcooked. The waffle was fine, how much can they screw up a waffle. So I wanted to complain about the chicken, but the server never returned, to check on me or anything else. Except to bring me the bill. So, finally I can complain about it, and said to get me the manager. After explaining the problem the manager he responds with why didn't I say something to a server. I said I would have if they ever bothered to come by. So he says do I want him to have the meal made again. I said no, I just want the bill corrected. He comes back with 1/2 the amount removed. He said its because I ate the waffle. So now for this 3rd and last time I'll ever go. I asked my wife if she wanted to try it, since she missed out on the previous marvelous visits. She agreed to try it. We got seated quickly, and asked for our drink order. After asking a few questions to the server, he said the burgers are very good. So we both decided on the cheese burgers. Well the wait was quite long, and to make it worse, a table of 4, that came after us, got the meals before us. Our server comes by and refilled our ice teas, so I asked, wheres our food? He said, its coming. He returns shortly with my wifes burger and says they're still working on mine. Huh? She wants to eat but feels bad that I don't have my food yet. I told don't wait, eat while its still hot. So more time goes by, I'm not sure how long, since I was so hungry and pissed off, I couldn't see straight. My wife said at another 10 minutes. So my burger finally shows up, I wouldn't even look at this guy. I ate my burger, which luckily was pretty good. And once I'm done eating, he comes back to talk and apologize. By then I could then calmly talk to him. I said what really happened? Who's fault was this, then he says they gave my burger to someone else. I asked him if he's new, he says no not really, been there 2 months. Ok, that's new. Anyways I said to him to always tell the customer the truth, they may not like it, but so much better than lying. And that its his job to continually follow up on the food and his customer. He did apologize and he was very polite. And of course I had to talk to the manager. Explaining everything, and he apologized as well, and said he'd adjust the bill. Which he did, removed the cost of 1 burger. So there's my long story. Make your own decisions about whether to go or not, but I will not be returning anytime soon, if ever. read more

Julio is amazing. Happy hour is great here from 4-8pm everyday. Hard to find a restaurant on the east side with such great customer service and such great quality of food and drinks. I realize this is a new establishment, trying to do their best to satisfy their customers. And they say they are open to suggestions to improve our dining experience. I have made numerous suggestions because I for one would like to see them to succeed! However this was the third time I have ordered my steak ( Medium Rare) and it is cooked well done. Perhaps if I ordered it Raw, it would be cooked medium rare. I kind of doubt it though. Maybe it would be better for everyone if they would just train the cooks! The waffle kitchen is honestly one of the best brunch places out in the AV. Everyone is so lovely and helpful. It's such a nice atmosphere. The food is also amazing, I'm a vegetarian and I love the waffle Benedict they offer where I substitute the ham for vege patties. It's absolutely amazing. Their waffles are crisp on the edges and nice and fluffy in the middle! There are tons of other options as well and everything is made quickly yet perfectly. Just came here for Mothers Day. The restaurant wasn't even that busy, one of the reasons I chose this place over IHOP. They took our drinks promptly but then it was downhill after that. Ordered thru grub hub/Yelp. Our order said it was ready at 10:24am, we went at 10:44am to pick it up. Wasn't ready, the lady said they messed up on the garden skillet and had to remake it. We waited until NOON for our order as we watched person after person come in and get their order right away. Throughout the wait, several waitresses came and asked the name on our order so they all were aware we were waiting. After waiting over an hour she brings our order right out now and it's ice cold. We tell them we aren't taking ice cold food after waiting over an hour for an order that was for order AHEAD. They go back and reheat all the food and bring it back. We ordered a simple garden skillet and an order of the wings and waffles. The wings were bare but were supposed to be garlic Parmesan and to top it off I found several pieces of styrofoam in my garden skillet. Been coming here at least every 2-3 weeks here with my family and service has never been a dissatisfaction to us and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. Our food is prepared at a fair time depending on how busy the restaurant is. The prices are a bit the same as you would find in a mainstream diner. However, the servings in each plate is usually is a little greater than in other diners, thus giving us a better bang for our buck. Food quality is good though there are some times when the food tastes somewhat what you would expect if you were to go to a fast food joint. Good amount of drinks to choose from and 50% off all appetizers also they have daily deals today was Monday so it was 6 wings for 5 bucks and they were low key the best wings I've had in a while! We went to Waffle Kitchen today around 1:15. The restaurant was not busy and we got a table right away. Eventually the waitress came by to take our drink order. By the time she came back, we gave her our order. She didn't introduce herself and had no name tag. All we know is she was short, Hispanic and a bit heavy. After about 20-25 minutes, we went to the bar to ask where our food was and we needed drink refills. Another waitress came by, Esmeralda, and asked what was going on. She just came in early from Primo after being called in so she checked the kitchen. They did NOT have our order and had nothing for quite some time. Apparently the first waitress never put in our order, though she wrote it down. Esmeralda immediately put in our order which we got within 5 minutes apologizing so many times. She didn't have the managers card saying he didn't have one and he wasn't there. He apparently goes between both restaurants. She didn't know the other waitress but thought she may have been the one that left right before she got there. We are so very disappointed in the Waffle Kitchen and have no intention of ever going back!! (We ate there once before, slow service and ok food). I thought it was good enough. I had a simple corn beef hash and eggs breakfast and it was satisfactory. I saw one reviewer complain about the "canned" corn beef hash but I like canned corn beef hash so I received what I was expecting. The service was also prompt. The atmosphere in this building might make some people expect too much but I think as long as they keep the meals simple and provide good service then this place could possibly stick around for a while.
