I would have given this restaurant a zero stars if I could. I recently went to this restaurant for Father's Day with my husband and daughter. We let our waitress know that we are gluten free. We told her we were extremely sensitive. She did mention that they had one dedicated waffle maker but the food would come one at a time. They were able to make any waffle gluten free. I ordered a waffle that had peanut butter and Nutella and when I received my food I didn't know that they were putting such a excessive amount of peanut nutty which was nauseating. I mentioned to my waitress, which seemed inexperienced, and didnt seem fazed of what I was saying and didn't try to fix. The service I received was terrible and the food took forever to come out. Also my daughter who has celiac who mentioned to her that she's sensitive to cross contamination could not finish her food because she immediately started feeling nauseous from the churro waffles. We had to leave right away so I asked to pay and wanted the receipt, and instead of getting my receipt printed ahead of time took 2 other people's order. I then asked another waitress to please get me my receipt. No one came over to ask us what was wrong. If you have Celiac this isn't the place for you bc even though they say right on the menu there seems to be very careless with peoples lives. Totally bad experience. read more

Don't miss this fun new spot in town. The staff are super friendly and the ambiance is so fun and inviting. The waffles are delicious and the coffee is goood. Love the patio seating-- too bad its SOooo loud from BB Rd traffic. Waiters and waitresses r always outstanding. Each waffle choice--delicious. Coffee cups very big!! My only issue is that the coffee cools down bf you can drink it all. Highly recommend. read more

The Waffle Monkey is a must! We had about a 10 minute wait, which was perfect as I was able to get a cup of coffee and look over the menu. They have inside and outside dinning. I had the Waffle with fried eggs and bacon. It was perfect. OMG! I cannot wait to go back!! read more

Everything about the Waffle Monkey was first class. Service, food quality and ambience were spot on.

We often go to the Waffle Monkey on Sundays and love it! I get the vanilla latte and my husband gets a macchiato. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is great. I love the monkey bowl! The new menu items are a nice addition too. The merch is cool - we recently bought two of the coffee mugs that say Bonita Springs on them. read more

Love it!! The restaurant is brand new, clean & alive! The cappuccino was outstanding The churro and chocoholic waffles were perfect- light on the inside and crispy on the outside. The waffles are not bad at all, and the fried chicken was excellent. That said, the entire rest of the experience was unpleasant on multiple occasions (we returned several times kept hoping for an improvement but none came). The serving staff is visibly inexperienced, on each visit they forgot basic things like drinks and missing silverware. A hostess circulates with a smile asking if everything is great but was not pleased to hear that the Nutella ordered to accompany waffles of one of our diners tasted nothing whatsoever like Nutella--just like chocolate paste with no hint of nut. (On a previous visit, a milkshake ordered with Nutella also had no Nutella flavoring; on that occasion we were told they had forgotten to put it in). The decor attempts to be cute but doesn't work as the proportions are off; it feels cramped and dark and brooms and buckets sit around just next to tables; overall it simply doesn't work. When I went to waffle monkey I was sat down immediately but not helped for 20 minutes. There was 2 other tables in the restaurants and plenty of staff and they admitted to forgetting about us when we went to the front desk then came to help us. After that we were forgotten about after we ate and had to re-walk up to the counter and ask for boxes and the check. The employees were sitting and talking the whole time and seemed to forget they were working. Food was underwhelming and nothing about it was good enough to come again. read more

This was my second visit to this location. The waffles and the coffee were great. Service has an opportunity to improve - 45 minutes waiting for my take out order is too long, plus no silver wear to go with it. While it got busy, it would have been good to check in with customers and let them know there is an extended wait time. Wonderful. Following a stressful experience at a local Cancer, a patient suggested going the Waffel monkey for breakfast. We decided to celebrate no chemo for a few months. Met a very pleasing server, Nel, told him I was celebrating! He shared that with his manager; who eventually comped my wonderful waffel bteakfast! could have blown me away!!
