Don't know about the waffles but the eggs, hash browns and coffee are excellent. Amazingly speedy service. It's also nice when all the staff have a friendly attitude. The place was busy at 08:00 on a Friday, a great sign. Having lived in Tacoma for decades (moved away in 2017) it was also fun to watch the patrons enter Knapps which is right across the street. What a great breakfast place! I'd pick waffles over pancakes any day, and this place sure delivered! We ordered the luscious lemon blueberry waffles, the chicken & waffles, and a just a regular buttermilk waffle for our kids. Everything was delicious and filling! The blueberry lemon waffle was a bit sweet, but I guess that's to be expected with lemon curd. Nonetheless very tasty, and I would order it again. We came as a family on a Friday morning and our wait was told to be 20 min but was actually 45, so beware when coming on weekends, you may have to wait a bit due to limited seating. Everything was delicious! It's hard to find a breakfast spot in WA and this one is it. The waffles are amazing...soft, crunchy, bursting with flavor. I got the split decision and my husband got chicken and waffles with a homemade country gravy that's to die for. The place is small inside, but they pack the place full. My issue is with one particular menu item; the "Nashville Hot" chicken and waffle. Calling this Nashville Hot is like calling a hotdog and a crawfish Steak and Lobster. It's absurd. The only thing this chicken has in common with Nashville Hot chicken is that they're both chicken. That's it... and I'm being generous with that. I mean it. That's IT. Nashville Hot is a very specific thing. There's no wide interpretation. You don't order Nashville Hot chicken, and expect to get a bowl of chicken carbonara. You don't order a Wagyu steak, and expect a hamburger. You don't book a room at the Copacabana Palace and expect to stay in a Hostel. You don't buy an airline ticket and expect to be seated in a trebuchet. I dunno, maybe you do... I don't. Words mean something. I mean, look; why pretend? If you want to cater to the crowd that would order Nashville Hot in the first place, then GO ALL IN. If you're gonna do it, DO IT. Commit. Make it so killer that people who've had Nashville Hot will judge all other NH by yours. Or DON'T... The people who don't like heat won't order it anyway, so why dumb it down? If you must, then call it something else, because it's NOT Nashville Hot. The place wasn't full, but people trickled in and out while we were there. The service was on point. We had one of the twins, and he came by the perfect amount. He spotted when something was wrong with our order and we didn't catch it. He kept our drinks refilled and was kind and helpful for newbies not knowing what they were doing. Now. The. Food. It was amazing. I had the very berry waffle and the chicken and waffle fries. I couldn't stop eating. The berry waffle was sweet, crunchy and that perfect about of berry tart. The chicken and waffle fries were covered in cheese, chicken and bacon. It was more than my friend and I could even begin to finish, so those came home and my kid dug into them as soon as he got his hands on the box. The home made ranch is something of my dreams. So. Came here for our anniversary with our son and came hungry! First impression, the hostess up front said hello but did not engage with us. Took a few minutes but i finally said hello for three people. Then she changed her attention towards us, helped clean a table and sat us down. Place is bright and welcoming and clean lines lead your eyes straight to the back to the kitchen. Food; we ordered The Mess Haul, French toast waffles, and the waffle and wake. Oh and a garlic parmesan waffle fry shareable. Our waitress was friendly, she did forget my husbands request for sauce, but it was busy so understandable. If you're a Bloody Mary type of person i suggest you try both the spicy and regular just to see where your spice level might be. Definitely try the signature waffles. I stopped in with a friend around 9am on a Sunday morning and we walked the neighborhood while waiting to be called via a text from the restaurant. It was approx. 30 min which isn't too bad at all. They have QR code's on each table so that the menu can be accessed digitally, which i love. They have a creative menu and great customer service right out of the gate. I ordered the wake n waffle with the very berry medley waffle. The waffle is obviously unique and tasted really good, the rest of the breakfast: eggs, sausage, and hash browns was decent too. They have an excellent hot sauce if you are like me and put hot sauce on your hash browns. :) I would suggest getting a Waffle to share between two people as they are super sweet and shareable in size. This place was super busy on a Saturday morning at 930/10. We put our name in and walked through the nearby farmers market and they called our number faster than expected. Their COVID preparedness was good. There was a mask on every staff member and the booths were spaced apart. The decor and design was really cute and charming. However, the food was less than stellar. The portions were decent and it came out hot but it was pretty average. I did get a waffle on the side with no whip cause they load towers of cream on them. There were a lot of options on the menu that I wanted to try, so I'll have to go back. They had seating for just about any sized group, especially with a table that could probably handle 10 folks. While visiting from San Francisco, my family and I stopped in here for breakfast after drooling over the pictures we saw online. For starters, the food was delicious! All four of us got different waffles/egg combos and we loved them (get the Chicken Apple Sausage for sure). The ingredients were fresh and the quality was excellent. The service was just as good as the food! Our servers name was Meghan (spelling*). She gave us a warm welcome and helped us promptly. She kept coming back to check on us and kept our drinks topped off. We loved the food and our experience so much we went back the very next day. We had Meghan as our server again. What happened next blew our minds... she remembered each of our orders exactly from the previous day, with the sides we wanted and how we liked our eggs cooked! I swear all our mouths dropped open in disbelief. Usually you have to visit the coffee shop 20 times before they start remembering your order. THE. VERY. NEXT. DAY.! The fact that I'm writing this review over a month after visiting and I still remember the servers name (we all do), it says something about the customer service. Brava Meghan! We went to breakfast this morning at the Waffle Shop which used to be one of our favorite places, I have not had food this bad since Boot Camp many years ago. to start with my wife ordered scramble eggs well done what was brought to the table was a fried egg cut into pieces and not well done. I order eggs over medium, bacon well done, hash browns, and a waffle. What I got was two eggs barley cooked at all, bacon that was burnt, hash browns cooked on one side and soaked in oil. the waffle was done in the center. I sent it back and told them to at least cook the eggs. The server returned and asked me how I wanted the eggs cooked at which point I told him to just do a well-done scramble, what I got back was the same eggs dumped on the grill stirred maybe twice and still moving. I just returned the plate and told them np thank-you. On the way out I walked by the kitchen I will be calling the health department Tuesday morning. read more

There was a 15 minute wait which we didn't mind since we went to a couple of shops next door to kill the time. The place itself is nice and clean love the interior.
