I've wanted to try Waffle Stop since we moved here over the summer. The wait intimidates me when I drive by and see the crowds. However, they have an app you can add yourself to the list before arriving! I had the split decision- came with two types of waffles, eggs and your choice of meat- all so delicious!! We all loved our meals- the fried chicken looked so good- will order that next. My only gripe is the coffee-not good- very weak- denny's coffee in my opinion. Mess Haul The portion size was pretty significant. Had about 1/4 of the meal for leftovers. The gravy was solid and the waffles lived up to the hype though the gravy over the top was a bit overwhelming for myself and I think next time . I'd like to try the waffles by themselves. This place should be renamed to the one stop waffle shop, because they literally have everything you could need in a breakfast/brunch. My sisters and I drove down here while on vacation in Washington. They were about to close, but the server was sooooo kind and allowed us to sit and order. She didn't make us feel rushed, or as if we were a burden. She was welcoming and possibly the best server I've ever encountered. I wish I remembered her by name for the shoutout she deserves. The food was amazing! The waffles are so thick and full of flavor, i could never eat a eggo ever again! The Nutella with strawberries and bananas were the perfect touch of sweetness to the dish. I especially loved the hoMe made sausage Patty's! If they sold them in packs to go, I'd probably have bought a dozen of them to bring back home with me! Hot spot, everyone wants to be there. Drove here from Federal Way where I live. Lucked out and found upfront parking. Went to check in told 55 min wait and onto a list. They would text me when my table was ready. This turned onto a 90 min wait. Once we were in we were seated. We had to scan for a menu with our phone. Ordered and then waited another 20 min for our food. I got a waffle with hash-browns and eggs with sausage gravy and chopped bacon on top. My waffle was pretty cold, however the hash browns, gravy and eggs were hot. Did taste good. I asked for hot sauce and got homemade habanero hot sauce that tasted really good! Our dishes were cleared quite often, when it came time to pay you could pay by phone. The food was good not memorable, I don't think I would go back the wait was excruciating. I did like they used technology to keep us informed of where on the waitlist we were. But I was not overly impressed to wait so long. Wasn't bad but was not worth the wait. read more

Overall it's a cute restaurant that seems to be very popular! We arrived, needing a seat for two, and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. Ended up only being ten and there's plenty of cute shops close by to browse as you wait. Wait staff are kind and friendly. They've got quick service and overall it was a good experience! My spicy chicken and waffles were good. The chicken wasn't spicy, more just like warm, and well seasoned but it was definitely good! On this dish, the chicken was the star over the waffles. That would be my only complaint, the waffle just deteriorated. I couldn't pick it up with a fork and had to scoop it up to eat, not sure why but that just seemed odd. But true sweet waffle paired nicely with the spicy chicken. There's quite a few different options and types of waffles so we will definitely be back to try more soon! read more

First time eating here during covid! I live close so ordered takeout. Im glad they got online ordering up and running bc i tried to call in an order a couple mos ago and couldnt get through. I love that they package up the toppings you so dont get soggy food! (Only downside is it doesnt look nearly as pretty when i do it lol) We ordered a couple items weve had before- ranchero steak and eggs and the luscious lemon blueberry waffle. Both are delish. The only slightly annoying thing wast order gave an exact time for when the food would be ready and it took an extra 10. We waited about a half an hour to be seated, on par with the indicated wait time. Our server was very friendly and got our drink orders in right away, all of the staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered a combination of waffle and egg dishes and everyone enjoyed their food overall, the eggs weren't the star of the dish for sure and were a bit overcooked all around-- but the waffles were amazing (especially the warm syrup!!) The mound of whipped cream was amazing. It was literally sliding off the waffle as it made it's way over to me. The savory entree was a little bit more of a miss. Waffle Stop is a solid breakfast/brunch spot in Tacoma. Before arriving I added myself onto their online wait list which let me know how many parties were ahead/how long of a wait it would be. On a Sunday morning there was 20 parties ahead with a 35-55 minute wait, but we ended up being seated in 30 minutes. I highly encourage just adding yourself to the waitlist before arriving if you aren't a fan of waiting. Our server was great and the food was phenomenal - especially the chicken and waffles! Very causal inside the restaurant, extremely loud and the tables are very close to each other. The booths seemed a good space from each other, but they were unavailable on the day we visited. I ordered a vanilla latte also and it was just ok - kind of wish I didn't order it a lot of coffee grounds were in the latte. I was not a fan, I wanted to try something new but I know grapefruit don't be hitting right, so I don't know why I did that, but I drank it. I usually post reviews through Google, but I noticed Yelp is very active through Wafflestop. But I needed to tell whoever I could about my experience today. And how absolutely "WOW'd" I was by my server Kevin. He was an absolute blast. I decided to treat my mom and my daughters to breakfast this morning and seeing we waited for over an hour and a half for the table and even another 30-45 minutes for our food Kevin made that wait feel like Seconds. He kept reassuring us food was being worked on and made us never feel forgotten. At one point which was probably the highlight of our experience was his interaction with my kids. We brought our little uno set in with us and he voluntarily asked to be dealt in a hand and it was really just so much fun and comforting. His engagement with us made us feel so at home and this is exactly why we come back. Wafflestop never lets us down. She was super knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions being that it was our first time in! The Southern waffle was surprisingly bad... the bland taste and cornmeal texture was off putting even with cinnamon butter and syrup, I was very disappointed. The bacon and hashbrowns were ok and I would have been happier if the eggs were over medium like I ordered, but they were cooked over easy. I tried my friends sugar waffle and she enjoyed them but I thought it was quite mushy and way too sweet... they don't have traditional waffles if that's what your looking for, but got to give them props for being original. I have been here 3 times in the last 2 months and it's my new favorite breakfast spot to meet with friends. I've had the waffles and the oatmeal and they are all really good! The oatmeal is pretty big and enough for 2 people. The French toast waffle is delicious I tried that this week. The restaurant is in a great area with cute shops nearby to walk to after your done with your meal. It has a nice chill vibe to it. I am vegan so I just get a waffle or oatmeal not to many options. We had ordered the Nashville hot chicken and waffles, which was basically only the batter and not enough chicken, they pour honey over the chicken and the waffle was hard and cold which had to be sent back. The waffle monte cristo was not good at all. I've had monte cristo from about 3 places and this was my bottom. The raspberry they serve tastes like they melted watermelon chamoy(Mexican candy) blehhhh.... & the turkey and ham we're so dry so I did not eat the other half which is the one that I took a pic of. & lastly, the brown sugar cardamom latte was so #*!% I didn't not enjoy that one bit. I couldn't figure out if the taste of burnt coffee was the reason for the nasty after taste or the lady didn't make it right. For the foodie experts- do not waste your time. STOP HERE at Waffle Stop - soooooo delicious! We got here on a Saturday mid-morning to thankfully not a long line. Waffles were really good. We could taste the sugar pearls embedded in the waffles.
