This is a decent place for a snack at East End Market. I went for a late lunch, and there was no line (unlike other places), so I went in. They have ice cream, and they have sweet and savory waffles. I ordered three waffles, the nutella waffle, the tamago waffle, and the bacon and cheese waffle. They were all fine. The waffles were on the eggy side. The fillings were okay, but the texture was all similar. It would have been nice for there to be some crunch or chew or something other than soft. They also have some yuzu drinks as well as milk drinks. I had a yuzu soda that was light and not too sweet. Originally went in for the ice cream but decided to try other things. The store is located on the second floor but you can get to it with the elevator located inside. Be aware the parking is limited so get there early if you hope to get a spot close by. Once there the line was out the door which means the place must be good (right)? While waiting I was able to see that the restaurant was staffed by two employers. The line moved very slow because they seemed to be understaffed during a constant rush. Regardless I waited because I really wanted to try the food since I heard so many good things about it. After what seemed 15 minutes of waiting in line I was able to place my order and got: Strawberry milk Ube ice cream on a Taiyaki cone stuffed with custard Wafu flavors Bacon + Cheddar Grilled Cheese Toastie Tamago The staff was friendly and was able to quickly explain to me what were the menu items based on their flavor.The total came out to $32.20. I got the ice cream first (very quick), and I am able to say that it was really good. The flavor was smooth and the texture very fluffy but once you got down to the cone it was a bit dry but the custard was able to save it. 4/5 Then after a looooooooooooooooooooooooong wait (Ordered my food at 6:39pm and got it an hour later), we got the three wafu. Out of the three we got, only the Bacon + Cheddar was able to stand out from the rest. The bacon was the only thing giving it some edge. All the other flavors in the background were just a mush and not doing much. This is why I think both the Grilled Cheese Toastie and Tamago really had nothing going on for them. For all of these once you got down to the tail it was filled with more stuffing rather than the filling. The bacon gets a 4/5 the others 2/5. Finally the strawberry milk. It was meh. They apply this syrup at the bottom with what seems to be strawberry bits to give it more of a whole mouth pallet feeling. Gave it a really good shake and down it went. The flavor was next to tasteless. There was a hint of strawberry but the flavor faded as quickly as it came. The strawberry bits were nice but not enough to save it. If the flavor was more intense it would have gotten a 5/5 but it gets a 2/5. This place is great for an ice cream date. For everything else it honestly was not worth the wait. If they are able to do something about the turn around time on tickets and the flavor of the items I had their ranking might go up. read more

Much needed on a warm day in Florida! The taiyaki was warm and crunchy and the ice cream with filling complimented each other. Loved this cute spot, the workers were friendly and fast too. The others in my group added dipping sauces so they didn't notice the dryness as much. We have been to this location many times. Unfortunately, after repeated bad experiences I felt the need to leave a review. We have been to this location multiple times around 7:30pm-8pm. When we arrived the employees told us that they had already cleaned up and were "done for the night". The posted hours are 9pm. We have begun to make it a habit to come earlier in the afternoon to avoid this issue since we drive nearly 40 minutes to get there. After seeing the Valentine's Day special strawberry taiyaki sando their Instagram page we decided to take our son and daughter to get this special menu item. When we arrived around 1pm she told us that they were still trying to find time to prep the item for them day. Again, it was 1pm. The special advertised Valentine's Day treat had not even been prepped for the day. I told her it was okay and we would be okay with waiting. She started by saying it would take 30 minutes to cut up some strawberries and whip some heavy cream and sugar together...still fine. We'll wait. Seeming annoyed by my patience, she added another 30 minutes "or maybe even longer". Overhearing the conversation with the girl working the cash register, the girl making the taiyaki comes over stressing how long it will take and we can come back tonight if we want. They close at 9pm. I told them we would not be coming back this direction. We live quite a distance away and are okay with waiting. They both seemed extremely annoyed and finally let me order and pay for it. It has now been over an hour. There is not a single person inside ordering right now. All three taiyaki machines are empty. Still no sando. Pretty sure they're making a point that I inconvenienced them at this point. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I've been eating Wafu since they were slinging out of their first food cart. Would scout where they'd be next just to get my taiyaki fix! If you plan on visiting, come hungry! The Tamago taiyaki is a great contender for a savory treat, and the vanilla soft serve is smooth, creamy and delicious finisher. Though soft serve isnt my preferred kind of ice cream, I decided to give this place a shot based on a few recommendations. To my surprise, they also offer savory taiyaki options (bacon, cheese, etc). The Winter Park location is a bit small for the amount of business they get (roughly fits about 6 people in line inside at a time), the rest of the line continuing outside. Because its soft serve, there's also no way to sample the flavors so youre pretty much stuck with what you get. Thankfully, the flavors werent bad (vanilla & pumpkin) and the taiyaki cone was fresh which contributed to the 10-15min wait time. Overall the presentation of the ice cream itself is nice but its not a place I go out of my way to stop in. There's a different ice cream spot across the street and I cant see myself hesitating to go there unless I'm really considering the savory options instead. read more

First time visiting the stand alone shop, had tried them back in the day when it was a food truck. We ordered the combo, so nutella, custard and matcha. The Nutella was freshly made so we had to wait ~10 mins. The crisp was great in the fresh one, the other two were a little spongey, but the level of sweetness was good. The matcha was not too powdery or grass tasting. The store was cute overall and out door seating. It was hit hot inside, I think there was something wrong with the AC. Came here on day 2 of their opening in June 2022. Definitely a smaller restaurant and the line was out the door. I opted for their famous fish waffle ice cream. They had a cherry blossom flavor for a limited time and it was amazing. The soft serve swirl of cherry blossom and vanilla was amazing! The owner was doing his best to make it work by giving us options to pay with Cash App, so it all ended up working out in the end. The second time I went it was super busy and there were only two people working they both had a smile on their face and seemed enjoy their job. Very good customer service ! 6.5/10 Ice Cream: Aesthetically, the ice cream was a 10/10, but I love ice cream, and I thought the vanilla ice cream was average vanilla ice cream. The waffle cone was good, but it wasn't my favorite. I thought the Mochi looked so cute on a stick. WAFU is such a cool little place. It reminds me of a cute tiny Asian novelty spot. It has such cool decor and vibe. You can get a variety from of fillings with your Wafu. You can even get ice cream on them! I'm sure all the flavors are awesome. I got the bacon and cheddar WAFU and it was good. My only complaint is how small they were. This place is so yummy!! Their matcha taiyaki is soooo delicious, warm, and v much matcha-y. We also got the custard and red bean filled taiyakis, which were also amazing as well! I love how they make them fresh. Though their place is small and only large enough to take orders, their interior is super cute and playful and the staff were very nice.
