This was my third time back, and I still think this is the best option around if you're looking to indulge in quality meat. We went on a quiet Friday afternoon. There were several occupied tables, but we still received plenty of attention from the servers throughout the meal. I've tried a few similar places, and this one continues to stand out. The meat portions are generous, and they can handle high heat well enough to develop a great sear. One major change since my previous visits is the appetizer selection. The menu has shifted heavily toward sushi and sashimi offerings. If you're someone like me who enjoys both premium cuts of meat and fresh sashimi, this is pretty much the ideal combination. They now offer many more specialty rolls than before, and the quality of the salmon and tuna also seemed noticeably better. My husband, however, would disagree. Since he doesn't really care for sashimi and prefers not to fill up on rolls, he would have liked to see a stronger selection of traditional appetizers and sides. Another welcome change is that lobster is now unlimited instead of being restricted to a single serving. The lobsters themselves are smaller, which I didn't mind, but both the cheese lobster and the garlic butter lobster were incredibly salty. I'm not sure if it was the seasoning or the type of lobster being used, but the garlic butter version was "clog-my-arteries" salty. I mentioned it to the kitchen simply as feedback, although I wasn't planning on ordering any more regardless. The only items limited to one order per person were the Kumamoto oysters topped with uni and caviar, the sweet shrimp with caviar, and one other premium item that I can't quite remember. Everything else was unlimited, including their new sauce station and ice cream machine. I especially appreciated the expanded sauce selection. On my previous visits, they only offered their Asian spice blend, which is still my favorite. But when I saw they had A1 sauce available, I had to do it--I dipped the A5 in A1. I can't believe they offered it, but once I saw it there, it felt like a rite of passage. One disappointment was that they had run out of foie gras. I had my cash ready and everything. If you pay cash, you receive complimentary foie gras with the Wagyu and uni, so I was definitely looking forward to it. To their credit, they offered us a premium abalone appetizer as a substitute, but I politely declined and opted to pay by credit card instead. The servers were friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. There was never any concern about running out of time during the 90-minute dining window. In fact, by the time the 90 minutes were up, I couldn't imagine fitting in another bite. The manager, or at least who I assumed was the manager also stopped by to check on us, made conversation, and was very pleasant. One thing I especially appreciate about this place is that I've never felt rushed. Even when we've gone beyond the 90-minute mark, the staff still comes by to ask if we'd like to order anything else. There's no countdown or "last call" pressure like you often find at other ACYE spots. Overall, it was another very enjoyable meal. Came here for the AYCE for $68 per person, which includes both wagyu, sushi, seafood, veggies, and other items. For two of us to eat our hearts content is $136, before tax, which is a pretty good deal. You are allow up to 2 hours however. The waiter/waitress does assist in cooking the meat and seafood when they're available. If you're feeling super adventurous, you can get the $159 plan, which includes the coveted Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu. The place was... Kind of subpar. The meat was just okay. The sushi was standard AYCE but that's usually cheaper. Their sauce station was constantly out of sauce and out of bowls. The fried bun didn't have accompanying condensed milk. The fries didn't have accompanying ketchup. Some meats were labeled. Most were not. I dunno kinda an odd time. Great AYCE Wagyu restaurant in Flushing! It's on the 2nd floor of a large white building. When you enter, you'll see another restaurant (white color theme) on the first floor. Turn left to find the stairs that lead up to the Wagyu Place (dark color theme). We went on a weekend and it quickly got busy. So it would be good to make a reservation just in case. There are 3 levels of AYCE. The $40 option is only available during lunch time, even on the weekends. You can eat American Wagyu, but it's not as tender/fatty. The $68 option has additional Australian Wagyu (in between American and Japanese in terms of taste/quality) as well as cheese lobster, and more sushi/sashimi options. The premium $168 option provides cocktails, milk tea, Japanese A5 Wagyu, seafood like abalone and oysters, and Bluefin Tuna Toro. We went for the $68 option since we wanted to get Australian Wagyu, cheese lobster, and sashimi. The premium option would have been nice, but it was such a huge price jump and we didn't think we could eat that much food. We really enjoyed the $68 option and probably would pick that option again. We tried as much of the steak options as possible. Our favorites were the Australian Wagyu Ribeye and Short Rib. We also liked the Lamb Chops with Truffle Salt, and the Pork Jowl with Miso. We also got a variety of sashimi and nigiri. They actually put some nice additions to their nigiri, but the rice was pretty filling. Would do mostly sashimi and a few pieces of nigiri next time. Also we didn't really like the Wagyu salad as there wasn't too much of a unique taste. The service was spectacular! We have 2 main servers who were both very attentive and talkative. They made us feel like home, and they gave us lots of pointers and food recommendations. They help to cook and cut the meat. They also changed the grill top several times during our meal. Overall, great dining experience and great vibes. I liked the decor and the restaurant was kept very clean. I was so busy eating and yapping, I forgot to take any photos. I went on a rainy night during the week and the place never filled up, just a couple of tables. The location is the upstairs of a dim sum place that use to have the first floor and second floor. This place use to have the best dim sum. I didnt know they turned the upstairs into a bbq place. The vents are built under the table so you have to be careful getting up bc there is a step. Good ventilation- I didnt smell of bbq when I left. My only gripe is the portions they serve are huge- I would rather smaller portions so you can try more of a variety. Staff was very attentive and cooked everything for you. The food itself was actually very good and you could tell the ingredients were high quality, especially when they brought out the Wagyu beef for the hibachi. Unfortunately the experience was very disorganized. Our group was seated in the back rooms that can accommodate large groups, and the service felt rushed and uncoordinated. The staff rarely explained what dishes were being served, so most of the time we weren't even sure what we were eating. When the chef started cooking the Wagyu beef hibachi-style, there was no explanation about the cuts or types of Wagyu being served, which was disappointing because that's usually part of the experience. Saw this place has a 40$ lunch AYCE menu which got my interest. We got seated pretty quickly in a private enough booth, the interior was nice and the staff was attentive. the lunch menu had limited options. But enough of a variety of meats and sushi options to try. The meats were tender and delicious, not the best quality since it wasn't the Wagyu option, but better than most of the places I went to so far. The sushi was also fresh. The only problem was the grill. It was hotter on half while the other side was luke warm, so cooking the food took longer. We got the A5 Wagyu package ($160) which was double the price of the American Wagyu package ($68) but I could not taste the quality of the A5. The meat was tough. They also overload you with all these apps that come with the package so you are too full to order more meat. Also the servers cook the meat for you and you can tell some of them do not know what to cook it. One person seared the same side twice. One sweet thing was they came from behind my husband with a cake and candle so I can get a video of his reaction. I went for the first time for Saturday lunch ($39.99). First off, the service was amazing! I was seated right by the entrance, so I couldn't tell how busy the rest of the restaurant was, but we had at least 4 different servers all come around during our meal that helped to flip and cut the meat that was on our grill. 2 of the servers were very personable and spoke English which helped because my Chinese is non-existent. I don't know if there's a time limit, but we were there a long time because the grills do take a while to cook the meat properly. On to the meats! I found them to be great. Don't go in expecting A5 Wagyu, but I would say it was more similar to meats that were USDA Prime or slightly better. My favorites were the skirt steak and the pork jowl. My wife liked the beef plate (it reminded her of the hotpot fatty beef). I also really liked the spicy salmon ball, the kani salad, and the spicy yellowtail hand roll! They also had a great sauce bar, I like to add wasabi to my beef. Also they had kimchi, seaweed salad, some fried items and some fruits in the back next to the sauce bar. For the set price of $160 per person, you can get all the different parts of A5 wagyu + seafood + sashimi/sushi + variety of appetizers which includes a whole grilled lobster tail. If you pay with CASH, you can also get foie gras. If you check in on any review platform, you can also get a tin of caviar. There are also 4 cocktail options included with the set price. My husband and I are members at Chubby Group so we were excited to try ayce A5 Japanese Wagyu at a different restaurant group. For reference, we get A5 like once a month so we have it quite often. We walk in and get seated. They take FOREVER to take our order and bring food out. Then they start cooking the meat and the grill isn't hot at all... so 45 min in we haven't even had our first bite of A5 when the dining time limit is 90 minutes. The service is terrible because none of the employees really spoke English. They couldn't understand anything were asking for, even us just asking if the grill can be hotter. As the meat was cooking it didn't look like Wagyu AT ALL but we decided to hold our judgement until we tasted it. We're huge foodies so even if the service is bad we can deal with it if the food is amazing. We took ONE bite and we immediately knew this was not real A5 Wagyu. The steak I make at home tastes better. We decided this wasn't worth $160 PER PERSON so we asked to just pay for the one meat we cooked à la carte and go. We didn't touch, eat or drink anything else. They said the best they can do is charge us $160 for one person... when we literally didn't even eat anything. Mind you, took forever to even explain that we didn't like the food and wanted to leave. You also get more appetizer options like- Japanese crab, foie gras, and a few options for cocktails. The Wagyu was excellent but I felt the oyster and sashimi were just okay. While I can appreciate the uni on the seafood it was on too many items and even started to tastes similar. The foie gras was good but I felt it was cold in temperature. I've been to Wagyu Place several times, and what keeps me coming back is the food. For the price, it is hard to find this level of quality anywhere else. Some of the dishes you get here would normally be very expensive at other restaurants, yet they are served in unlimited quantities. Monkfish liver is a great example. It is rare, it is pricey, and here you can enjoy as much as you want. I always order the A5 Wagyu package. It is not something you see often, and it definitely is not cheap elsewhere, but at Wagyu Place it feels within reach while still being top-notch. The beef is consistently excellent, and the variety of items makes the meal both satisfying and unique compared to other Korean barbecue spots. The one area that continues to fall short is the service and atmosphere. The staff can feel rushed or inattentive, and while the food itself is high quality, the overall experience does not always feel as polished. There is something about the environment that does not quite live up to the level of what is being served, which sometimes creates a disconnect. Even with that, I keep returning because the value is undeniable. You are not going to find unlimited access to ingredients like monkfish liver or A5 Wagyu at this price point anywhere else. We got the $165 set for the A5 Wagyu and it's definitely worth it. All of the appetizers and 1 full Wagyu platter and a refill of 4 more cuts of meat was enough to get all 3 of us full (and we 3 can usually eat a lot) Only thing is I wish they gave more sushi since our whole table ordered the A5 Wagyu set but they only gave one platter of sushi with only 2 of each nigiri when there was 3 of us. read more

My friends and I visited Wagyu Place for my birthday, and I'm glad we got to try it out! We made reservations ahead of time, highly recommend doing this. For our party of 6, we were in our own private room which was nice. It was busy, but we didn't notice because of how the layout was, so that was nice. We opted for the more basic course based off of other reviews we read, which we felt was pretty worth it. What sucks is you're limited to one of each appetizer per person. We loved the sushi, but each person was only allowed one order of it, so we had two pieces per person. We would've loved to order more, but were limited. The menu has a ton of options, even with the more basic package, so we didn't feel like there was a shortage of food. The only thing that wasn't so great was the cooking time. We shared one grill for 6 people, but the grill cooked the meats incredibly slow. Perhaps that's intentional so we're waiting longer between the meats, but it was a bit frustrating at some point when we spent more time waiting for even some thinner slices to be cooked, even with the heat on max. Overall, I'd still like to come back here. The birthday discount made it pretty worth it, but the experience overall was pleasant. We didn't leave super full like how we usually do after AYCE, but it's still worth it! read more

For better or worse, I'm part of an AYCE Asian food-loving group where we periodically inflate our stomachs--and deflate our wallets--in painful but delicious ways. Our last outing was to Wagyu Place, and while I felt I ate my money's worth, I can't really give this more than a solid....eh. The good: Chawanmushi, Garlic Eggplant and Omakase appetizers, (though the omakase/sashimi are limited to one time only), and Mango Sago dessert. Certain cuts of meat. The meh: Fried oysters, other cuts of meat which either weren't pre-marinated (e.g. jowl) or were too thick to cook properly. The bad: Uni and raw shrimp. It looked like melted neon orange goo over melted pastel pink goo...and tasted just as appetizing. Skip this unless you'd like to grow a salmonella colony in your belly. My biggest gripe was with the restaurant set-up. For a group of six, they put us in one of the curtained round tables that line one wall. While the set-up seemed cozy and intimate at first, it ended up just being an exercise in continuous frustration. We constantly had to strain our arms or just step past the curtains into the aisle to flag down a server to do everything from ask for more water, request more napkins or order more food. It got to the point where I just asked if they could give us a large carafe of water and tea so we didn't have to keep asking for refills (a request they were weirdly reluctant to accommodate). And we gave up asking for more food at some point because it seemed like the frazzled and harried-looking servers were just avoiding our table. I get it: There's no actual incentive to make the ordering part easier at AYCE places, otherwise restaurants would run out of food faster. I've been hesitant to write this review, but I feel it's important to share my experience in hopes the restaurant improves.. First, when we were seated, there was a raised step leading to our table that the staff didn't mention. My friend tripped and fell, and the staff just stood there, and one even laughed! I guess it was our fault for not noticing the step, but still, a notice would have been nice. Ordering was a mess--items we requested never arrived, and we had to ask multiple times. Other tables' food was mistakenly brought to us, and when we sent it back, the food runner seemed annoyed. On top of that, the waiter spilled water on my friend and her phone. (yes, on the friend that fell.. she was not having a good time). By mid-meal, it seemed like the servers were avoiding us. When we finally got someone's attention, and asked about our order, the server laughed and said they were out of the items. The exact interaction went like this, "hi, we are waiting on our corn cheese; we ordered it a few times but it never came" ...."ha, we dont have anymore of that." Well, I wonder at what point they were going to let us know... A new server tried to help at the end, but by then we were over it. During the whole meal, we got 2 rounds of meat since the staff was ignoring us. At the end of our meal, my friend mentioned the bad experience to the team; they offered free sodas as an apology, but it didn't make up for the experience. The food was really good, and we really enjoyed the marbled wagyu meats; but with service like this, I won't be returning. At $70 per person, I felt completely ignored and a nuisance to be there. The flavors were unique to me at least. The omakase is filling, so be mindful of this if you're planning to eat a lot of wagyu. I liked the sushi the most out of the omakase experience in the beginning. You wouldn't think a wagyu place would have good sushi, but this place did. The A5 wagyu melted in my mouth. I booked this place for one of my girlfriends' birthdays and since it was post-marathon, I knew she'd be happy to get that protein in for 'em gainz! So a week later, we meet up at Wagyu Place on a random Tuesday night for the celebration. There were 3 options and we chose the middle - we couldn't eat enough to make our money's worth for the highest tier so we were satisfied. We each had 3 sushi pieces and ordered one of each apps - great, we gotta get our veggies in. And then the grand prize came out - all that beautiful meat. Our waiter cooked and served us at a good pace that gave us enough time to enjoy our food while we chit chatted. Wagyu Place is a good option for barbecued meat if that's what you're craving. They have a pretty good lunch deal that I would recommend coming here for. It wasn't too busy on a Tuesday night but it also doesn't hurt to make ressies! read more

The food, environment, and service was absolutely amazing. Our waiter Patrick was really nice and helpful. There was a huge variety of things you could choose from on their menu. Some honorable mentions were the A5 Wagyu, raw tofu, ube paste, Australia ribeye, and the soft serve ice cream. Overall the experience was phenomenal and I had a great time. Don't confuse it with the wagyu hot pot a few yards away. You get exactly what you'd think you get. Prices are appropriately high for the food/ wagyu but you will want more. The beef balls are the best hint on the menu. The omakase is okay. This is a slightly elevated typical buffet experience. Service overall is okay. The decor is nice. Came for a friend's birthday (50% for birthday person with their ID- if the actual day), that was a big surprise for us, which was awesome! Overall, food was great. Got the $160 option and definitely impressed after experiencing it, would definitely recommend. If you aren't open to raw options, I would suggest the base tier which is must cheaper as well. My meal at Wagyu place was definitely memorable- in a good way. The thing I love most about the restaurant is the booths, it feels like you are in a private room- great for catching up with friends. The ambiance is nice. The service is hit or miss- the first time I went it was great, second time I went it was awful. The restaurant is clean and the meat is absolutely delicious. The quality of the meat was a little lackluster for "US wagyu" so I was a little disappointed about that. However, the omakase was delicious and I was under the impression that it would be AYCE as well as we are in an AYCE restaurant. The service was decent, just make sure you don't come with a large party as the grill is small and the meat/sides takes time to cook. We went for their AYCE Sushi and BBQ deal for 39.99 which I must say was pretty worth it for their meat selection. I would have preferred more for their sushi selection which I found out that they didn't have tuna nigiri but had salmon. They didn't load a ton of rice on the nigiri which was great. Their meat selection was great and I'd recommend the marinated skirt and the US Chuck Flap Cut which was great. Service was busy and expect to grill yourself which isn't a problem and you had to manually order from the waiter instead of clicking on their iPad which might be either due to special or something. Overall, it's a greats place and I cant wait to try their other AYCE deals. read more
