Really great food but I wish they had delivery, and a charge card machine. -1 star ONLY FOR THIS! Food generally slays the competition in Bloomfield area. I've called ahead, and picked up, and what strikes me about this place is, they have noticeably better food than most Chinese found in my section of Bloomfield. It seems Essex County in general has really lackluster Chinese food, and as we know, Chinese cuisine is like the chameleon, changed and influenced by its surroundings, so perhaps they think we don't like good food...? Well that's not the case here. The simplest things here really shine, I've had really crispy, fresh egg rolls, the best I've remembered having, the most excellent Lo Mein, and hands down the tastiest boneless barbecue spare ribs ever- tender, delicious in a really delicious sweet and tangy sauce (like you've had before, only better). Every dish I've had here is excellent, the problem is, no delivery. If these guys read reviews here, you should take note, you're better than the takeout available, and with the addition of a charge card swipe on a smartphone, you just may double your business and make a big old fattie very happy.

Going in for some lunch specials...

This little Chinese takeout it's definitely a small gem in Montclair. They only have one table by the door but they have a little park right across the street that has 2 concrete tables and seats so you can enjoy the weather. Although this take out looks like a hole in wall it makes up for the quality of food they provide. We have been ordering from here since we moved into NJ a little over 10 years ago. I must say can't recall having any bad days with them.. No question one of the better places to buy from... The only place I know that leaves their sauces out for the taking. While other place charge u for extras. Way to go Wa-Chung!!!! They do have a few small negatives like they are strictly a cash place and they don't have plastic knives but it's not the end of the world. Especially when the food you get is good.

Food taste clean. My go to spot. Make sure you ask for the combo because they will not ask you and charge a lot!

The restaurant's dining room was still spacious and nicely adorned, and they even had a lovely outdoor patio, though it overlooked an Acme parking lot. Our server was a delight and completely went above and beyond for us. The food, however, was mediocre. The Pork Soup Dumplings were our favorite item, as their broth and meat were extremely flavorful. However, about two of the six had holes in them, so some of the soup had escaped before they were even removed from their bamboo steamer. The Spicy Chicken Dumplings came in a generous portion of ten, but the fiery poultry inside had a strong "chicken" flavor, if that makes sense. Lastly, we had the Chicken Chow Fun, which was extremely bland and full of gummy noodles. That chicken was tender and had a better flavor, though. I just looked back at my last review to see that we had ordered the same noodle dish previously, and, while it similarly had very little sauce on it, the plate had been much more enticing back then. I also saw a bunch of gnats flying around near our table, which was not appetizing, but in fairness, it was a very hot evening. Despite our mixed experience, the dishes being delivered to neighboring tables all looked amazing. I would like to think it was just an off-night and would be willing to give the place another shot.

We started with the fried Spring Rolls, perfectly paired with a delicious and light sauce. Entrees were Masaman curry (w/chicken) and Pad Kee Mow. Both were excellent. Pad Kee Mow has this incredible Smokey flavor and was perfect vegetarian style. Meat would have distracted from the flavors. I have to comment on all the fun details in the decor; right down to the fun, Thai movie posters in the restroom, and even the little decorative tray they bring the bill on. All of it adds to the experience. Shout out to Alex, our waiter, who is very good at his job! If you find yourself in Montclair, don't miss this fun, little place.

We ordered the green curry and pad kee mao, and both were packed with flavor. The green curry was rich, creamy, and comforting with fresh vegetables and tofu soaking up all that coconut curry goodness. The pad kee mao had that smoky wok-char flavor with perfectly chewy noodles and just the right level of spice. Also loved the fresh coconut water to cool everything down between bites. Big shoutout to Stephenie, who took amazing care of us throughout the meal. She was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel extra welcoming. Definitely a great vegetarian-friendly spot in Montclair if you're craving flavorful Thai comfort food.

Soup was delicious i would prefer less mushrooms & more Tofu. Shrimp was the best ive had there. It was not just filled with cabbage. It also had onions, soy beans and celery I could actually see. The chicken was overcooked making it gummy. Or, maybe they cooked it at two high a temp. I think they may have prepared it in advance to save prep time. This made the Teriyaki sauce dry & salty. Chicken can be very tricky to get the correct moist texture. I would suggest trying a fresher prep. We did toss ours but, I be willing to try it again down the road. BTW please try a different company for the duck sauce packets. They tasted weird.

We ordered a Combination D, Pepper Steak & Onion Combo and Cheese Wonton appetizer. Total order including tips over $40.00. The Combo D was almost $16.00 by itself and was supposed to be of 2pcs Beef teriyaki, 2 jumbo shrimp, very small portion of boneless spare ribs, pork fried rice. Teriyaki was dry and NO Teryiaki flavor whatsoever. Shrimp were small, NOT Jumbo + Overcooked, maybe 6-10 pcs boneless ribs which were OK. Plenty of rice, but then how much does rice cost? Combo Pepper Steak---Steak was chewy and hard to eat. Sauce was bland and flavorless. Peppers and onions were cooked well. Platter was supposed to have egg roll included. Not received. The Cheese Wonton was the best part of the meal. Next time I'm in the mood for Chinese food, I'll stick to my tried and true places in Clifton, NJ.
