Really great food but I wish they had delivery, and a charge card machine. -1 star ONLY FOR THIS! Food generally slays the competition in Bloomfield area. I've called ahead, and picked up, and what strikes me about this place is, they have noticeably better food than most Chinese found in my section of Bloomfield. It seems Essex County in general has really lackluster Chinese food, and as we know, Chinese cuisine is like the chameleon, changed and influenced by its surroundings, so perhaps they think we don't like good food...? Well that's not the case here. The simplest things here really shine, I've had really crispy, fresh egg rolls, the best I've remembered having, the most excellent Lo Mein, and hands down the tastiest boneless barbecue spare ribs ever- tender, delicious in a really delicious sweet and tangy sauce (like you've had before, only better). Every dish I've had here is excellent, the problem is, no delivery. If these guys read reviews here, you should take note, you're better than the takeout available, and with the addition of a charge card swipe on a smartphone, you just may double your business and make a big old fattie very happy.

Going in for some lunch specials...

This little Chinese takeout it's definitely a small gem in Montclair. They only have one table by the door but they have a little park right across the street that has 2 concrete tables and seats so you can enjoy the weather. Although this take out looks like a hole in wall it makes up for the quality of food they provide. We have been ordering from here since we moved into NJ a little over 10 years ago. I must say can't recall having any bad days with them.. No question one of the better places to buy from... The only place I know that leaves their sauces out for the taking. While other place charge u for extras. Way to go Wa-Chung!!!! They do have a few small negatives like they are strictly a cash place and they don't have plastic knives but it's not the end of the world. Especially when the food you get is good.

Food taste clean. My go to spot. Make sure you ask for the combo because they will not ask you and charge a lot!

They have a fairly big place for them to be in the "main street" of Montclair so there's plenty of seating there. We were greeted right away when we picked up our order, but the guy did take a little bit to find our name. We got their basil fried rice with chicken in their pad kee mow with chicken, both medium heat. I have to say, this is the best Thai food. I've tried in New Jersey. The price is incredibly cheap for the amount of food that you get, the spice level was true to what we asked for, and it was incredibly flavorful. We paid $14 for each plate and we're not only had dinner but also had leftovers for the next day (for two of us). This is now definitely our go to Thai food place!

We ordered the green curry and pad kee mao, and both were packed with flavor. The green curry was rich, creamy, and comforting with fresh vegetables and tofu soaking up all that coconut curry goodness. The pad kee mao had that smoky wok-char flavor with perfectly chewy noodles and just the right level of spice. Also loved the fresh coconut water to cool everything down between bites. Big shoutout to Stephenie, who took amazing care of us throughout the meal. She was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel extra welcoming. Definitely a great vegetarian-friendly spot in Montclair if you're craving flavorful Thai comfort food.

The rice was a beautiful brown color, not that bright yellow. It was so extremely tasty, the beef was tender and savory. The ribs were tender and delicious, with a well-balanced flavor. It came with an egg roll that I gobbled up. Next time, I will try the chicken wings (I was watching a guy cut them up and almost added them to my order) and some roast pork egg foo young. If my next experience is as good as the first, I will be picking up food for dinner next time my wife wants Chinese.

Even so, I make my order over the phone, ordering a small, not a large of the delicious Vegetable Mei Fun (due to being quite hungry after a smaller lunch of only 5g of protein a few hours earlier to an appointment). The price difference is a few dollars between the small and large. Still, what if one shows up at the eatery with only enough money to pay for the order set through the phone? The Vegetable Mei Fun is really tasty; my first bite consists of a few onions which are full of light savory-zesty flavor, a main highlight of the meal; every other part of the meal mixes in well, especially with the noodles which carry the flavors well. I don't find a need to add any other sauce though do add sauce to try the flavors mixing. All of the sauces mesh well with the ingredients though are not necessary. The original flavors of the meal are more than fine. The meal is quite filling. The eatery does not seem to have any set place for a customer to eat indoors. The eatery accepts different forms of payment. There is a dollar charge if one uses a debit card (which may be in connection with a minimum order amount).

Not really a big deal though as he was also very polite. Japchae appetizer was good but we mentioned one of our companions was vegan and so no meat, just veggies, but the egg wasnt omitted. for my main, i got their pork belly kimchi hot stone. It was a generous portion however I dont think I'll get that again only because I prefer my pork hotstone savory rather than sour from the kimchi. The kimchi gave that tanginess. Still cleaned up my plate though lol. The MangoAde was delicious though and im glad i went with that. Next time il have to try the pajeon or tteokbokki and perhaps another porkbelly just without the kimchi mixed in it.
