Dined at Dead Dog for the Fourth of July. No wait at 4:30, great food, great service. Ordered shrimp tacos, kids meals, Queens Platter, Chili queso dogs and a Smokey pig. All cooked to perfection. There's a stage for a band but they hadn't played yet, not until evening. Right on the inlet facing the water and marsh walk. Absolutely beautiful.

The free hush puppies were a nice and delicious surprise. I had the prime rib sandwich. It was delicious! The horseradish sauce over the prime rib with crispy onions with a soft roll- so tender. My friend got their hamburger and it looked good too. They offer tater tots for a side! Got a kick out of the restrooms- setters or pointers. Hilarious!! Staff friendly- all that passed our table made sure we were doing good. We sat outside in the covered area and there was a perfect cooling breeze. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to enjoy their patio.

Erika was our waitress she's a breath of fresh air and was so patient explaining the menu. I took all of her recommendations and was so impressed by all the food! Fresh flavorful and comes out fast! I got the Sophie's Fried Special. Fresh or fried the seafood is AMAZING. Inside has frames pictures of peoples dog that went to heaven , so cute! Good for family or date night with the live music ! 10/10 recommended.

I always get so excited when I know we are going to Dead Dog. We sat at the bar as usual and ordered cocktails. A cosmopolitan for me and something for him. We started and shared the boo boo bites. These are always delicious. Then I ordered a cup of chili and he ordered the egg rolls. My chili was good but I don't remember it being so spicy. No room for dessert. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Scenic. A great spot on the inlet. All the ideal menu items for this type of saloon on the water. I loved my crab cakes and French Onion soup. Others had blackened fish sandwiches, fish tacos, and shrimp and grits. All good. There for a cold spell in November. Back patio was sunny, warm and buzzing at lunch. Fast turn around time and good eats...woof woof.

Fantastic restaurant, a definite must visit! This restaurant is covered with pictures of dogs that have passed away in a celebration of life and the general companionship of our furry friends. It reminded me a lot of a Día De Los Muertos style of remembrance. You might think this would make for a sad ambiance, but it was actually very inviting! Decorations of cute dogs on the windows, hanging lights, and cartoon style tabletops. The live music was very good too! The food was great. Complementary hush puppies were seasoned well accompanied by a delicious honey butter. The fried fish and shrimp were tender, crispy, and salted perfectly. No tails or veins on the shrimps. The chicken wings were decent, a bit dry, and sides were nothing too special. Certainly not worth paying a la carte prices for, but they did come with the meals. I was absolutely astounded by how fast the food came out considering the entire place was packed. There were so many employees working that the service was still excellent. The ambiance, location right on the docks, great seafood, bars, and live music make this a must for any families or people looking for a popular place to grab a drink and watch sports

If you're heading down to Dead Dog Saloon in Murrels Inlet, don't let the modest exterior fool you--what's waiting inside (and outside) is a laid-back coastal experience that's hard to beat. We chose the outdoor seating, and it was absolutely worth it. Overlooking the inlet, we enjoyed a peaceful view of small boats drifting by--one of those simple moments that makes a meal feel like a mini getaway. I went with the crab cake sandwich and fries, while Helen ordered the Cuban with tater tots. As someone from Virginia, I'm usually cautious with crab cakes--too often they're all filler and no flavor--but this one was refreshingly light, packed with crab, and genuinely delicious. One of the best surprises? The hush puppies. We had heard great things but didn't see them on the menu--turns out, they bring them out complimentary when you're seated. And yes, they absolutely live up to the hype. The staff added to the experience with their friendly, welcoming attitude, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. There are plenty of places we still want to try in the area, but this one has already earned a return visit.

Friendly nice folks food was real good and seasoned the fish tacos came with coleslaw and cilantro lime rice. We got spicy Korean barbecue chicken wings. They wasn't spicy, but they were flavorful and they tasted really good. Our server was excellent. They had live music and it was phenomenal the performers sound really good you gotta give this a try that everybody there was really nice folks.

Fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and Thai chili sauce

Date night on the Marsh Walk with delicious fried green tomato appetizer (with goat cheese and Thai chili sauce), and the 3 seafood entree. Good service on a busy, football Saturday night. Two big bars, an outdoor patio, and big dining room. They are on a pause for taking pictures of loved fur ones that have gone over the rainbow bridge, but love seeing the pics on the wall!

    Fish bites
    Kyle C.

Was very surprised by all the dead dogs on the wall, but probably should not have been. My wife really enjoyed the goat Island sunrise drink. The fish tender bites were good with the tartar sauce was not so much. The tender bites were very, very disappointing. Some overcooked and tough "filet" over some oversize toast. The crabcake sandwich was disappointing as it was the very small side of over. Seasoned cold fries. The Caesar salad was good, however. The service from Zac was outstanding. And it was a bit chaotic, but with the live band playing it was a pretty good atmosphere.

This place was great! They bring hush puppies to your table as soon as you sit down, they were delicious. Food was good, our server was very attentive. The walls are covered in photos of customers beloved dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge, which was very sweet. We came back in the evening for drinks and live music and got to experience HWY 17 rocks. WOW! They were so talented. Best live music I've ever experienced...and with no cover charge. Our night here was a highlight of our trip we will never forget.

Had to come back since now, our son and his lady have moved to the area. Donovan was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious once again and to be able to be outside on a beautiful day overlooking Murrells Inlet capped off our day at Brookgreen Gardens.

Both the pulled pork and pastrami sandwiches were on point. If you up for something spicy, try the jalapeño baked beans. Loved em! We had banana pudding for dessert and if I were to make a single negative comment would be the mason jar serving vessel for the pudding. While certainly nostalgic for a BBQ place, I couldn't reach all the nooks with my spoon to get all the last bits of delicious pudding out. But don't worry, will be back for another helping. Very cool spot and I bet it's great when there is live music and during bike week. Thanks again to all.

Our first and second visit consisted mostly of the same things: Oysters and Calamari to start, Seafood Mac & Cheese and Fish & Chips. I had the lettuce wraps, which are big, so share. And I had Crab Cakes. The wraps were good but they needed a better aioli in my opinion, because it became a sort of watery dressing instead of something sturdier. And the pico de gallo was not actually that. It was diced tomato, onion and had zero taste of lime, salt or spicy. It was fine but could have been killer. My hubby had the Clam Chowder, Pan Seared Grouper and the shrimp Po Boy. He loved the grouper, risotto and the chowder. The fish was flaky and seasoned well. The po boy needed more sauce but was really delicious. My daughter (16) needed a seafood break since she had the fish and chips the first visit and went with the Claw House Burger. She said it was seasoned and that it was indeed 1/4 lb. And Fish & Chips was the best she had had (which, she's had an incredible amount for her young age) -- not too much breading, nice crisp on the outside and juicy fish. The fries both nights were a little chewy but the flavor was there. And how can I forget. Even though on the second night we saw at least five tables start with the Crab Nachos we added a third item, Fried Clam Strips. Those were ridiculously good. I'm not a fan of tartar sauce so I ate it without and it was perfect on its own. Everything was fresh, they paid attention to detail in most individual elements and the location sent it over the top. Definitely worth a visit.

A table of 4 sat a few minutes before we did and a table of 6 sat probably 10 minutes after them. Our table and the table of 6 were served before the group of 4 who had to ask a bus boy for service. Yikes! Server was sweet besides the empty non alcoholic beverage glasses she did not fill when our food came out. She didn't come back to check in on us until my husband's 6 bites of dinner were already gone. I asked if the portion is usually that small (especially in comparison to the significantly cheaper - MASSIVE PORTIONS we saw being served all around us) and she politely said "yes. typically, sometimes a little bigger." As someone with a culinary arts degree & kitchen background I was very very very disappointed on the portion size of his entree for the price & sizes of surrounding entrees being served (that were cheaper or around the same price) and it literally ruined my entire experience. A smidge dramatic but the God's honest truth! Great view, beautiful patio, friendly service - just extremely disappointed. I planned to order both of us dessert and immediately skipped out & asked for the check when the server finally came over to ask how our food was. This review is hot & cold because my experience was. Would I recommend it? I'd recommend going for the best oysters in Myrtle and a clean, friendly facility - but that's about all I can say! PS - $3 "destination fee?" Clearly I'm not from around here, but it was the only restaurant from north Myrtle down to Murrells to charge us a fee for eating there as a tourist.
