Disappointed...ordered the Wahoo's salad thru GrubHub and the restaurant couldn't remember to put the dressing in. I wasn't at home so it is not like I had access to another dressing. Seriously, it is salad...how hard is it to check that the dressing is in the bag? (along with the extra salsa I requested for the other item ordered). When GrubHub contacted them they wouldn't make even a small dollar adjustment because dressing is "free". Pretty sure it is built into the cost of the salad somewhere. read more

I've eaten at this location many times as well as several other locations over the last 25 or more years. Always good. Had the Wahoos salad today with fish and became ill fairly soon after. I've always heard about Wahoo's and finally trying it for the first time recently. Only because a coupon was mailed to my apt and a location is nearby. I tried the carne asada outer reef burrito (no beans). A half was fairly filling for lunch, although I would most likely eat a whole during dinner time. Pretty good. Woohoo for this Wahoo's! I come here repeatedly for lunch, since I work 2 blocks down and IT HAS YET to disappoint (knocking on wood). Customers pack this place like it's going out of style. It's close to Fullerton HS, Fullerton JC and many businesses; I can tell it's a people's favorite. I miss going to the one across from South Coast Plaza, when I used to work near there. Walking to this one from my work office only takes me 3-4 minutes! Since I normally do lunch here, I try to order something petite. My regular order may consist of: 3 Taquitos for $4.99, chicken, steak and carnitas, with guac, sour cream and pick de gallo; or Baja Rolls for $4.99, diced chicken mixed with cream cheese, spinach, tomatoes & onions wrapped in a flour tortilla; I have also had chicken quesadillas, steak quesadillas, chicken nachos and steak nachos. Their chicken is usually chopped in large cubes and sometimes not-so-tender. Their steak however, is consistently well prepared and succulent. Service is superb, when I get food to go, it takes no longer than 10 minutes, sometimes less than 5 - which deserves thunderous applause. I have also dined in and my encounters were equally great. Not impressed at all. Seriously, Baja Fresh or Rubios is better than this place. Maybe it had to do with the fact I came in 20min before closing time. I got "The Kahuna" - burrito and taco with beans and seasoned rice. I chose shrimp burrito and fish taco (Cajun) with brown rice and black beans. The shrimp and brown rice were 50 and 25 cents extra. Waited less than 10min and walked out with my order. Lime: squeezed and not a single drop came out Fish Taco: fish was kinda dry, meh Shrimp Burrito: it wasn't bad but way way too small Rice: no way this is seasoned rice; tasted like plain brown rice Beans: meh, could've been cooked more Salsa/Hot sauce: green sauce was the only decent one but still had no heat Btw, when I saw them make my order, they put the rice and beans in the takeout styrofoam container and put it in the microwave... uhm... why? Prices are a bit high/portions small, or is it just that it is so good that I get greedy and regret not ordering two burritos. Amazing flavors, good quality fish, good sauces, great service. Came to wahoos for a quick lunch today, overall I was impressed with the taste and quality of food. I got the fish taco and enchilada plate. Considering that wahoos is a chain restaurant, The grilled fish taco was surprisingly delicious. However, enchilada was disappointing. I can't believe I never came here during college when it was so much closer than it is from where I work now. Without copying Wally B.'s review because I agree with him completely, I love Wahoo's. It's not authentic but it doesn't try to be. And yes, their wait staff does come to check on you during your meal. Pretty cool. The blackened fish taco was my favorite dish here until I discovered the Maui Bowl. OMG! Paired with the rice (no beans for me) and the Mr. Lee's hot sauce, it's the only thing I order now. The rice is one of the best I've had. (I don't get why there's such a tiny scoop of cabbage/pico though.) My only complaint is I think they're raising the prices. Every time I go I feel like I'm paying more. ($8 bucks now I think.) BTW, this is another place you'll have to go early to beat the lunch rush. And a little tip...ask for a to-go cup for your drink, so you can take it with you. read more

What i like about the rings is the lemon burst in each bite. First experience with this style ring. Definitely worth the calories. Maui bowl was a three star experience. Just a bit too salty but the food runner was very kind and brought out Mr Lee salsa and a roasted salsa. Both and or either help settle the salty flavor. The salsa saves the dish and i would say brings the overall taste pleasure to a four star experience. Spoke to the manager as he sat down at a table with small samples of various items. He said he had to taste everything to ensure quality. Nice. I liked the friendliness of the workers and overall good flavor of the food. Manager dedication to quality is impressive. I was very disappointed at my recent trip to Wahoo's. I ordered by phone and drove to pick up my order. I paid upon entering and stepped back to wait for my food. The girl who cashed me out was working the register the entire time I was waiting. After 20 minutes another employee asked me what name my order was under and took the bag of food off the shelf that I had been looking at my entire wait. I was even feeling sorry for the people who were going to get cold food. I said "that has been sitting here this whole time I have been waiting". The girl who cashed me out had not even checked when I gave her my name and paid. When I got home I found out they had not included the chips and salsa I had paid for. Wahoo's is probably my favorite restaurant ever. I've been coming here for so many years now and my mom and I have a lunch date once a week here at least so you could say I'm a regular the price is right and the food is amazing!!! Seriously it's so good. I'm a vegetarian and it's so nice to be able to eat somewhere that offers plenty of veggie options as well as a tofu protein substitute. The service is great as well everyone is so nice and makes sure they get your food out as fast and efficiently as possible. If you haven't tried this place then you are missing out big time!! Tip: The green sauce here is amazing!!! Ask them to make your burrito "wet" with green sauce. You won't regret it! I like Wahoo's because it's got that super chill casual dining feel but with delicious fresh food. We tend to take advantage of Wahoo's after long days at the beach or amusement parks considering their locations (we'd go way more often if they'd open one in Redlands!) so we're always kind of ragged and starving when get there and I love how I never feel judged by flip-flops or wet hair... in fact, I'd feel more out of place without the outdoorsy edge to my appearance. This one was perfect after a long day at Knott's with tired and hangry kids (whom they made happy even before feeding them by giving them stickers at the register). The people were quick and friendly, the dining area was clean and decorated interestingly in that Wahoo's stickers-and-boarding style, and it's right next to a free city parking garage. Always love going to Wahoo's! This is one of my favorite locations... What's not to love? You are in Downtown Fullerton, so its a nice location (minus the "tourists" on Harbor Blvd. who have apparently never been to DTF cause they drive like 6 mph looking at all the stores/buildings... but I digress) and the parking structure is kind of annoying, but provides a lot of spaces. This is a big restaurant with plenty of seating, even when busy you can always grab a seat. If not, you can head out the back door into the courtyard, and cut through over by Starbucks and there is outside seating and you can watch the crazy drivers go by... Jose is super nice, and he'll take care of your order... just make sure "NOT TO LOCK THE DOOR" apparently this is a big problem with lines building up cause they posted a sign on the inside of the restroom...? Yeah. Anyhow, stop in to Wahoo's and go for a chicken bowl, classic burrito, or some tacos and remember to put TONS of Tapatio on your food! read more

Wahoos is always a great Choice it's always consistent and you know what you're getting. Fresh non processed food. I've been coming to this particular location for over 6 to 8 years. I've never had a bad experience the service is always great and if they do somehow mess up your order they always correct it without a hesitation. My go to is the 2 item combo I usually go with 2 spicy chicken with one red the other green sauce. With white rice and white beans, (black beans and brown rice also available) the green sauce is on point! Has a nice zesty cilantro creamy taste. Love it! Overall, wahoos is a great spot that has amazing food with great service. Would definitely recommend stop by for an inexpensive lunch or even a small dinner. read more

I was thinking 4 Stars, but after I ate the food I changed my mind to 3 stars. I was expecting the shrimp tacos to be really really good, but instead it's small pieces of shrimp and it felt like it did not have too much flavor on each shrimp piece and it is a little bit overpriced for one shrimp taco. They're good on fish tacos though. I thought the tacos would've been bigger too since it's like $4 for each one. Also I got the Combo with enchilada, rice and Cajun beans. The beans were okay, not spicy at all, rice, they just threw some pico de Gallo salsa on it. I got a shrimp burrito, but they put wayyy too much rice and beans, very little shrimp. It was like scarce inside my burrito. I have to scavenge and see if there was any shrimp at all... The enchilada was really delicious and gooodd!! Next time, just gonna get their deep fried fish taco and enchilada order separately, not a combo. read more

The first Wahoo's I ever ate at was in Huntington Beach, and really enjoyed it. I then learned that there was one at Savi Ranch, and went there a few times, but it was still a little too far away. Then driving down Harbor one day I realized that there was one right there! Really close and convenient for me. The best part is that it is right next to a large parking garage - that always has parking - and it is free!!. The food is very fresh, and they use all white meat chicken. The black beans are great, too. All Wahoo's have that surfer, beach, skateboard ambiance - which is different but still OK. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Go there.
