Amazing amazing amazing. Friendly workers, and fresh and healthy food for reasonable prices! Besides that, I recommend the shrimp combo with extra lime, original style. It's my absolute favorite thing on the menu, and worth the extra 50 cents for shrimp. If you're a regular, you should definitely download their app, it's fun to rack up points every time you pay for your food, and I always get random free goodies. (So far I've gotten one free taco and two free combos!) Location: Parking is never too much of an issue, it's free in the structure behind the restaurant. Wow what a disappointment!!! It has been maybe two years since I been to this place but back then the service was on point and the food super tasty. Last weekend I went with my family and all I can say is how things change. First the service was something to be desired, it seemed like as my husband and I were placing our orders the hostess/cashier seemed to be bothered by our presence. Wahoo's is always a safe choice when I want something for lunch that's quick and semi-healthy. When I was attending Fullerton College years and years ago, this was a stop almost weekly where I'd pick up a couple of fish tacos in between classes and try to cram for last minute exams and or finish any homework that I didn't do. It can get pretty busy during lunch, but the lines go quickly and there is plenty of seating if you want to eat at the restaurant. You can even take it to go and eat at the nearby park or just sit in your car. I do like their traditional fish tacos, but I like their shrimp ones even better. I go the spicy route. Two usually does the trick when I'm hungry, but three will definitely stuff me and hold me off until the next meal no problem. If I'm starving, I'll go the burrito route that's loaded with guacamole and sour cream as well. Once those two elements are added, the healthy aspect is pretty much out the window - but it's worth every calorie. If you're not into fish, they have tofu, chicken and steak options that are pretty good in any form. I've recently had their salads which were filling and their bowls which were gigantic. If you're feeling adventurous, I do recommend the Baja Rolls or a side of their crispy fries. Ask for a side of the cilantro salsa, and it's a great dip for your friend spuds. Some peeps hate the rice, I on the other hand love it and I'm a fan of their black beans as well. Mix the two together with some Gringo Bandito, and you guarantee that I'm going to finish every last morsel on my plate. Cheap prices, friendly service and quality throughout the brand is what makes me a returning customer. read more

I have come here for about 8-10 yrs. I dont think I have ever had a bad experience. Several avg experiences but mainly rather tasty grub overall... Definitely a worthwhile place to stop and if you forgot your phone in the car so you wouldnt get txts, emails, or phone call emergencies, well guess what, they still have OC Metro in a stand here to read! Its still pretty humorous reading the personals like I did 20 yrs ago and I still wonder if they ever elicit any responses... Pro Tip: The onion rings dont exactly work with the rest of the menu, but I always find them DAYEM good here... I normally go for the Maui Bowl (teriyaki beef over rice & beans or a variation thereof). I have also been known to really enjoy the carne asada tacos here. Definitely something with lots of flavor and the shredded beef if very succulent too! Lots of good stuff on the menu and a cheap bottled beer of the month provides a nice non working time beverage! So, many people have told me that I should go to Wahoo's and many times I have thought to myself - hmmmm that sounds like a fast food joint and I hate fast food. But, I was wrong in my assumptions. They do very much seem to take the stance of a fast food place. But, the food is not reflective of this stance. Anytime I can get food with fish or shrimp to replace meat - I am a happy guy. And then when I found out I could get brown rice and tofu...I was a very happy guy. They have spicy enchilada sauce. They have spicy white beans. They have tapatio at the tables in case they don't add enough spice. My fish burrito was delicious. My fish enchilada was amazing. I would love to know the nutritional facts behind the food. But, for my first visit - it was fantastic. They have a beer of the month that they serve for $1.85 a bottle - which is a great price when dining out. Would love to hear about the fat and calorie count on some of these items. But, overall was very surprised by how tasty my food was. And they get extra points for allowing me to order my food with brown rice. read more

They now have brown rice and FINALLY now you can substitute anything on their menu with TOFU!!!!! Holy crap, I about almost lost it yesterday when I found out that information. The concept is quite simple, fresh ingredients, ample portions and consistency leads to high perceived value. And, that is exactly what you get. You always know what to expect and you always expect the best. My typical order is two grilled chicken soft taco combo with black beans and brown rice. Sometimes, I mix it up and get the spicy chicken but every time I do I sorta regret it. Today, I went with a Cajun fish taco and a shrimp taco. Both were good, but I prefer the chicken, if I am totally honest... Anyway, if you have never had Wahoos, you are missing out. If you are thinking about it don't, just take Phil Nights advice and "Just Do It." read more

1st time here Emma the register girl very nice and informative answered my question about the menu smiling the whole time. I was told to try these nachos so I did. Good choice nice and chunky good flavor. The staff here is great there either cleaning helping customers or walking around asking how you food is and if you need anything. This is a small place very simple but the staff treats it like its a fancy restaurant that's pretty impressive I'll for sure be back to try some tacos this place just got a new customer. Waited for about 20 minutes for my food today (bonzai tofu bowl). Finally got it (I ordered it to go), and when I went to eat it, there's literally multiple clumps of salt (like a good teaspoon size) in the bowl mixed into the veggies, rice and tofu. It's so terrible I couldn't even eat around it. I hate to do this because I usually have a good experience here but this was terrible. read more

Didn't love this location when it opened, but it's all good now. I think they had a bad cook at first. I'm a regular now, about once a month or so. Recently I switched from Steak tacos to Chicken, asuming it will be healthier for me. I still like the steak better, but whatever, lifes not fair like that. They offer brown rice and white beans as a side with tacos. Healthier? I crave those tacos everytime I drive by. All super fresh ingredients with great flavor. Great service. Very clean restaurant. I can't think of a negative thing to say about this place. It is what I expected it to be, a Cali chain restaurant staple that I just had to check out. First off the location was pretty easy to find and I really liked the parking garage option. I don't get whats so weird about it, I was able to manage it just fine. The atmosphere is what I expected it to be, surfing style eatery, which turned out to be great since I was eating by myself and could watch the TV instead of bury my face in my phone. The food was really good, it was clean and fresh with nice flavor. I went with the shrimp and fish taco plate with rice and black beans. I highly recommend trying the black beans, they were seasoned perfectly. The tacos were no joke either, they were filling and tasted great. I've been to Wahoos a few times but this is the first time that I went to the one in Fullerton. Great experience as expected. Great black beans, rice, and tacos and enchilads. Wahoos serves up some great fish tacos. The difference with this place and maybe Rubios and some other more "traditional" fish taco places is the way they cook the fish. Other places deep fry it with good batter. This place grills it. Healthier. I like both types. Also, particularly nice is the great friendly service. I'm not too into the South County decor, but I don't come to Wahoo's for the decor. I come to Wahoo's for their excellent Wahoo Bowls and their excellent customer service. Their wait staff brings out the food with a smile and they're always asking if you need anything else. They even check up on you periodically throughout your meal. It caught me pleasantly off guard. I haven't had a chance to try everything partially because I'm too hooked on their chicken (both spicy and charbroiled versions) and their pulled pork. They do have a good version of teriyaki shrimp. I personally haven't tried their fish, which is apparently what they are "famous" for. Try it with the spicy white pinto beans. They're not that spicy. They also make a mean sandwich too. The baja rolls and and the onion rings are choice appetizers too. If you like spicy salsa, you gotta try the "Mr. Lee's" sauce. It's like a garlicky (that a word?) soy saucey, chili pepper type deal that must be tried with your meal. Sometimes it can get too spicy, but it's so good that I just suck it up and continue eating. If you can hang with Mr. Lee, then you're a true spice aficionado. I can understand the Wahoo's bashing, mainly because they're looking at it as a Mexican restaurant. It really isn't. It's like a mexican/teriyaki type fusion spot with "hip" decor. Not my style, but like I said, I don't come to Wahoo's for the decor. Food is AMAZING. Customer service is decent. Very impatient with you if you are a first time guest and have a very rude demeanor towards customers when ordering. Indira, the cashier with glasses and tattoo behind her right ear (seen in attached image) does not respect the customers in any way, shape or form. Customer service should be the main focus when dealing with a group of people to make them feel welcomed. When I lived in the area, I ate here about once a week between classes. My favorite was the shrimp enchilada with green sauce and black beans. It's reasonably priced, always delicious and consistently satisfying. I've also never received any attitude from any of the staff at this location or any other I've visited (Irvine, Lake Forest, Orange to name a few). They always seem genuinely pleasant and welcoming. I had forgotten to review last time I was in the area, but I've never been disappointed by a Wahoo's and it's almost always on my list of "well we could get...." when my friends ask where we should go for lunch. The only thing about this location is that it's very close to FJC and CSUF (a college and university, if you're not from the area) so it can be PACKED between about noon and 2 or 3 pm during the school year, especially when it's chilly outside, to the point that it's absolutely impossible to find a seat. If you want to sit down to eat, either try to get there a bit early or late for lunch, send somebody ahead to grab a table, get your order to go, or plan on waiting for a bit. read more
