There service is so bad I have to update my review. For what should be relatively fast food, expect to wait 30 minutes after you order, and I got it to go. They we're screwing up orders right and left, so I watched many plates return to the kitchen. It was a Thursday evening and not even crowded. It is not like I had a big order; I only ordered a salad and a plate. It cost $25 and took 30 minutes. Then I watched people who ordered after me get their food. Not sure what is wrong with this place. They are so expensive for what you get, it is a great disappointment all around. I am definitely done coming here, and you should not even bother unless you have lots of money and time. And to make it worse, the fish was so over cooked it was practically inedible. read more

Great place to get your Seafood and Mexican fix. The burritos are absolutely huge and super flavorful! The Seafood is really good and awesome for a fast food place! If you get the burrito always get the "wet" style to add more flavor to your burrito. It's so much better that way and it is stuffed to the max. The fish tacos are really good too. Fresh pico de Gallo makes the biggest difference. We also got some stir fried shrimp with brown rice which was pretty good too! A tip I would recommend is if you don't know which sauce to make your burrito "wet", you can do half half. read more

Came here not expecting an amazing brunch but even with low expectations, this place managed to present food that was worst than microwaved food. Service is great, super friendly and attentive and the place is clean so that's why they get one start. But our meal was not only cold but extremely tasteless. I guess this place is popular for fish tacos but should remove brunch from their menu if they are not able to present a medium quality taste and food standard. Come to Zocali Cafe around the corner, it offers more than 3 brunch items but has a variety of pastries for dessert. read more

I absolutely love Wahoo's and have been eating at various Wahoo's locations for about 10 plus years (always saw them eating here on the show Laguna Beach so had to try them and have been hooked since lol). I haven't eaten here in quite some time since all of the locations in NorCal have closed so when I'm in the OC there's pretty much a location everywhere so I can get my fix. Wahoo's is kind of hard to describe I don't think it's considered Mexican or Tex-Mex but I don't really think it's Asian Fusion either. It's a mixture of Asian, Brazilian and Mexican Fare, I find this place to be quite unique food wise and decor wise since it has a surfer/skater atmosphere to it. Everywhere you look you will find surfing and skating memorabilia, stickers and even find it playing on the televisions. This is perfect for Orange County since they are known for the whole surfer vibe. This was my first time to this location and I chose this one because of it's 4 star rating and it's proximity to Old Towne Orange. The restaurant is fairly big, they have a huge patio dining area as soon as you walk up to the restaurant and the interior is pretty spacious. The menu here I would have to say is unique and different, they are really popular and known for their fish tacos (which I've never tried) but they have a lot of other pretty tasty items as well. They have enchiladas, rice bowls, burritos, Cajun fries, nachos, soups, salads and etc. While it does sound like Mexican food it's not! They have seafood, meat, chicken and tofu and these proteins can be added to all the items I listed and it's good that they have variety and something for everyone. Now I'm very picky with enchiladas, I usually only get cheese enchiladas with the typical red sauce but this is the ONLY restaurant where I will have a Cajun chicken enchilada with green sauce. The Cajun chicken here is cooked to perfection, it's not dry and it has so much flavor (it's super spicy but I love it). The entrees come with rice which is like a white rice with cilantro and maybe some lime juice and your choice of either black beans or Cajun white beans. I'm not a fan of black beans so I always get the Cajun white beans, they are so good and yes super spicy. This seems to also be the only place where I can tolerate eating spicy food otherwise I'm a wimp. So this green sauce that they are also popular for is very different, I'm not sure what's in it but it's spicy, a little tangy but it goes great with the enchilada and I always get extra sauce to pour on my rice and I've seen that I'm not the only one who does that. I pretty much stick to this same meal but this time I got a cheese enchilada with green sauce and it was still so tasty. I just love this place and all the different flavors that are incorporated in the food and the fact that they are a mixture of different cuisines makes it that much better. Of course I'll be back when I'm in the OC and I highly recommend this place. When we had Wahoo's in NorCal, every person that I brought to try them ended up loving the food so you will not be disappointed. read more

Overall decent. $6.99 for the basic burrito with chicken. It was not as big as I thought it would be so I ended up getting more food. The cashier was polite and very easy going. That was a plus to me. She did a great job interacting in that short time. The restaurant could be a bit more cleaner and one flaw was that this place was so hard to fine because the light was out at the front! I'm sure they lost some business because of that. It's been awhile since I had Wahoo tacos. So yummy and fresh. I really enjoyed their rice and beans as well.

This place is a little pricey for fast food but the quality of the food can't be beat in terms of fish tacos. The portion sizes are also enormous! The Power salad comes with a meat of your choice plus rice and had a generous amount of protein. The burritos here are also super tasty and filling, and the spicy fish is one of the best fast food burritos I've ever had. Wahoo's also offers beer and wine, which is pretty neat. I love that they've added Trulys to their selection as well! This location deserves more stars than others because it has a unique and spacious dining patio that overlooks the Orange Circle! read more

So, I really was craving a fish taco so suggested this place for tonight's dinner. We ate at the location. Upon entering and approaching counter we placed our order with a cashier that didn't seem to have customer service experience. My husband clearly ordered 3 tacos and I two fried dish tacos, and then our friend his order. Well took awhile to get the food but when we did my husband only received 2 tacos and immediately told her when she placed the plate down. She had a blank stare and could give two cramps. Didn't apologize once for messing the order and told him he'd have to go back up there and let her re-ring him up for another taco. In this situation my husband was the one apologizing for whatever reason, she made us feel it was our problem and fault for the incorrect order and walked away. At this point we're running late to our movie and passed on having to pay to have our order corrected as well as I could tell she didn't care about her job nor the fact our orders were wrong. Such as my tacos being grilled and not fried. I knew it was going to take forever to get the order corrected and heck she probably even make me pay for it again. She was miserable towards us. But then once someone she knew I guess was up at the counter it was a different story. Her demeanor changed. I was most certainly disappointed in this locations service and who they have engaging with their customers. As for my tacos they were disgusting. It was a solid square shaped that was rubbery and clearly just frozen fish from the grocery store type thawed out. I couldn't even finish my food. Looks pretty, but taste was another thing. Went yesterday service was horrible. Was not packed the guy at the register Hector was in a bad mood as he kept looking at his phone go off. He wouldn't even silence it he just let it alert his watch the whole time. Felt rushed to order and the portions were awful so small and my bill was $37 ! I don't think I will go back. To top of off the person in front of us had coupons $5 off their meals from when they sold the gift cards and he said they were expired. The lady explained because they have been closed due to Covid they weren't even given the chance to use them, he still gave her a hard time and finally used them. I will drive to the orange circle for better service that wAs the worse ever, I find it interesting when our plates barely had any meat for the prices this place charges and then you see the workers sit at another table with their plates piled high and with meat it's very very frustrating. Tonight I ordered a to go meal around 5:00P and the cashier was so nice and sweet and he went above and beyond, bringing my meal to me when it was ready verses using the buzzer he gave me. His favorite restaurant since he was born; we usually visit the Tustin location. But with the new Old Town Orange spot now open, we decided to pay a visit (along with a trip to the Candy store). The remodel looks impressive although the interior is a bit too sterile and institutional. I prefer the outdoor patio with fireplace, view of the Plaza (from the front - rest is a brick wall) and colorful seating. Some of the workers we know from the Tustin location including a Hispanic manager/crew leader who I always call Cute Carmen :) She has worked at Tustin forever and always is smiling with great service. One of my Yelp friends calls it gringo food and that is an apt description....especially since the surf culture it is based on is predominately gringo. But eaten at the restaurant (frankly I do not think their food travels well), it is always fresh, flavorful and consistent. I enjoy the Maui Bowl (Teriyaki steak with brown rice), my son likes the chicken bowl with white rice. We always get extra salsa with our chips which is free. I also like the fact they have Pepsi products. I love these lunches with my son; familiarity will never breed contempt in that case (although familiarity - along with copious amounts of wine - did bring him into this world). :) Recommended as always. read more

No opening day jitters here. Super attentive staff today. By the time I was half done I had been asked if I needed anything no less than ten times. I had secretly been hoping opening day patrons may have gotten a lil bonus for having been there on opening day, but that was to no avail. I also apparently missed Wing one of the owners by less than an hour. It would have been fun to meet a successful entrepreneur like him. I ordered my favorite Wahoos item, a Maui bowl with all white rice... this thing came with a lil more beef than average and tasted awesome. Everything seems like it is going well especially with this location being in a historical building. Almost everything looked tasty as can be that I saw being brought out to the patrons. The exterior had extensive seating with lots of chairs and tables not yet being used. Definitely a place to come back to regularly. I am super excited that I have a place near my office to grab a Maui bowl at now. The building had a side entrance, rear entrance (past the bathrooms) and a front entrance. There is even a nice very wide porch here! Obviously everything was new, and the tables were properly leveled :D as well as clean bathrooms (well at least the men's was). There is street parking right in front on both sides of Chapman and some parking slots in behind the restaurant as well. A block away is a large free open public parking lot slightly to the North West. See you here sometime! read more

First time at Wahoos EVA!!!!!! Ok, I can't believe I've never been to a Wahoo's before LOL!!!! Out off these types of eateries, Baja Fish taco still reigns supreme! So mom and I were wanting something different and she didn't believe there was a location in Yorba linda. Seriously my mom did not believe it. But for some reason we didn't want to go to that location, so we found out they recently opened a spot in Old towne orange area. Its very cute, I can't compare it to the other spots since I've never been to a Wahoo's before. Great outdoor seating and spacious dining room. It does bother me that they don't have a SALSA BAR!!!!! So moms and I were looking at the menu and man it makes my head hurt looking at this menu full of options, combos and sauces! Seriously I feel like I needed a damn pad and pencil to write down what im going to order and what sauce , brown rice/white rice, steak, chicken,veggie,cheese , bowl, enchilada, taco burrito etc etc etc. Making my head hurt while your in that que line :D So I finally ordered from the nice cashier. I ordered the combo meal, steak enchilada ( with the green creamy sauce) and fish taco. Mom ordered steak enchilada, steak burrito (both green sauce) and shrimp taco. We also ordered tortilla chips and salsa. I must say for take out food took forever to come out, but if you ate there food came out at a very reasonable time. Anywho.... So get home get into the food. Already not to a good start. How do you order chips and salsa with no salsa! WTF. So I took the little bit of salsa they put in my combo ( the salsa wasn't bad actually) So I eat the fish taco first. It was fresh BUT who doesn't put any kind of sauce on a fish taco , I like the white creamy baja type sauce on fish tacos usually. The steak enchilada was aight. That meat looked and tasted like Chipotle's "steak." I should have known to have expectations on their "carne asada." The rice and beans portions were big and those tasted a little more than ok. Terrible service from employees...they took forever!! 25 minutes on a to go order. It appeared they favored dine in customers 5 to 1. U could see the cooks & server(s) just standing around joking & talking loudly too..hardly working but there were a lot of orders that needed to be done. The Supervisor was clueless and NOT paying attention @ all...kept playing around w/the register. The Irvine Company valet told to Never go there If u want it quick bc they take forever. Plus dont care. He said he used To go for lunch but not anymore bc of that. I learned the hard way. There was nothing special about the food. Wahoos is an institution in So Cal. I was in town on business and had to make a stop. This was a really cool location in orange. I stuck with my standard Kahula Pig Bowl. You just cant beat the flavor. I knew my experience was limited so also got the taquitos (carne asada). They were also good but I think that I my eyes were bigger than my stomach. It was still really good. Overall Wahoos is always a winner in my book. Go and experience. read more

We usually dine here every other weekend to enjoy the food, have a couple of brews and people watch. Today is the Orange Plaza Car show and National Burrito day. The first thing we noticed is that the female staff who always provide amazing service and delicious food were regulated to cleaning tables and delivering orders. The young man working the counter tried to overcharge us on National Burrito Day, did not have large mugs for our beers , and not only made our order to go when we said for "here", he got our order wrong. So to start, the items in our order that were correct were good. But that's about it. We were the only ones there for lunch. Ordered a chicken kids plate and a single fish taco to-go. We waited for 10 min while people received their food who ordered after us. We finally receive our order which had been sitting in the queue for awhile while the workers chatted it up with each other. We drive home to eat our lunch quickly and learn that we were charged for an adult plate and still received the smaller kids meal, and the single taco was a pork taco, not fish. Service needs a lot of work, especially when there wasn't even a lunch rush to cause a distraction. read more
