We came to this location last night for a friend's birthday. They have a very large outdoor patio which is nice if you have a large group. However, had a Monday night at 7 PM. They did not have messed up. First issue was that that she couldn't get my gift card to work. I had checked in the afternoon to make sure I had balance on my card, and I did. However, after trying to run it three or four times, it did not work. So I just ended up using Apple Pay instead. I will call the company. Then my salad I ordered with the grilled fish is hard as a rock. The fish was way overcooked! However, they were short staffed, so I couldn't resend it back, since mine was already the last order to arrive for some reason. I did not taste good so I would not go back. For me this is not really authentic taco or Mexican foods place...more of American pan Mexican. The place is wonderful nice and spacious with a chill vibe that you just want to hangout for all day. They do have inside and outside seating area with cool and surfing type of decor (both objects and pictures). The staff is wonderful and friendly (one was slow and took 5-7mins trying to place the orders in the system but couldn't and got the manager to help out). You order and once the foods are done, they will bring it out to you. They do have separate soda fountain and sauces station. They also have beers (great selection) for sale. The menu items mostly are seafoods but they do have meats too. Got chicken burrito, pastor street tacos, and fish tacos with beers. All are around $60 with tip. The foods are just okey, not bad not good/great...just okey but sides portion are generous. Chicken is nothing special, fish are good and nicely cooked, pastor is not that great...just below average for my taste...beer is great. First time at this location. Crazy. I know but same legendary flavor! The fish tacos? Still undefeated. Crispy, zesty, tasty with guacamole/avocado slices and somehow even better with ocean air in the mix. The bf went for the wahoo bowl with shrimp -- pure savory goodness that made us both do the happy food dance. Service was good. Our server was very friendly and helpful as we pondered our options fully knowing we'd end up with the classics, but she was a sport and played along. I'm not sure how this place is so highly rated. I ordered the combo and was charged slightly more than the listed menu price. Not enough for me to argue it, but still not very cool. The food was quite bland and reminiscent of bad cafeteria food. The sauces were also quite watered down. The waitress was polite but forgot to provide napkins and also forgot to give me chips with my order until I asked her for it. The seating area is the only saving grace and pretty nice looking on the outside. However, I got eaten alive by mosquitoes while sitting on their patio so it's a hard pass from now on. read more

We ordered a pitcher of beer, salad, taco/enchilada plate and chips and spent $57. We got our chips at the counter and told them we would be outside on the patio. We waited 20 minutes and I told my husband to check on our pitcher. The lady said she forgot about us and finally delivered our pitcher of beer. Another 20 minutes passed and he had to get up again to check on our food. They delivered it right after. My salad had very little salmon and it did not taste fresh. The taco plate was fine. I hate that I tipped up front. Next time I'll wait to see how the service is. My bad for doing that! read more

So haven't been here in a very long time, me and the family decided to try it out. They have a great menu, and everything looks great, a little higher on the price side but the kids options and pricing is very good. The staff is very friendly, service was great and they aim to please. They have plenty of space for seating big parties inside and outside. All the food came out pretty quickly, the only thing was that it was almost cold/warm, the food was not hot. But everyone seemed to enjoy it. They have great salsas but no tartar sauce if you order the fish dishes. The bowls are great and my daughter loved the beef bowl, and my burrito was good, just the lack of chicken in it and half my burrito being just rice was a little disappointing. What a super fun place this was to go hang out and have lunch. The inside of this place is covered with skateboards and old times skater posters snd autographed pictures on the walls. Surfing pics to for the OC beaches. The tacos were great you get to pretty much order them the way you like them but the best part is ghat you can get them grilled and leave the poison vegetable oil out. My girlfriend and I came today for fish tacos and beer. When we were served our beer and sat outside she noticed it was extremely flat because the keg was low. She informed the team and they gave a refund and two bottles Coronas. We tipped of course then enjoyed our delicious food. MAJOR points to the team for understanding and showing love to us. In these post COVID-19 days of limited customer service and substantial price increases, Wahoo's Fish Taco has held fast. The quality of food, pricing and service did not waiver. The most substantial indication of a pandemic related change was paper plates and boxes, which has been restored to normal tableware. As a bi-weekly patron of Wahoo's Orange, I can testify there were some rough patches with staffing and some ill-prepared plates, but Wahoo's always made it right with a smile and we're back to consistent, excellent food. If you have the opportunity to talk with Wing Lam and get to know him, you might just understand why the restaurants are so good. Get out there and support a restaurant that cares more about providing good, real, tasty food above profits. read more

I either order tacos or enchiladas. The accompaniments of rice and beans, round out the plate, making it very filling. My order arrived fresh and hot. The chicken protein with the red sauce was great together. I especially like Wahoo's white rice. I don't know what ingredients they put in their rice, but it is delicious. The food here is really good everything was really fresh so far I have tried the salmon bowl with white rice it had a nice flavor it has a light soy marinade on it it also comes with a homemade aioli sauce on the side and citrus slaw the aioli and citrus slaw are delicious the white rice had good taste to it . I have also had the protein bowl with chicken and carne asada with brown rice and veggies it was really good great quality meats good taste as well it comes with the citrus slaw . So, since I was in the mood for something light for lunch and undecided where to eat, I finally settled on Wahoo Fish Grill on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. Location: Located in the heart of Orange on Chapman Coast Ave you will find Wahoo Fish Taco along the south side of the street. Street parking only, so be prepared to walk especially on busy weekends. Atmosphere/Ambiance: Wow, hands down one of the coolest patios around the Orange Circle and I am surprised that I haven't visit sooner. The inside is also pretty neat and tastefully decorated. Food: I ordered two of the Crispy Fish Tacos with the cole slaw and the pico de gallo salsa but was quite disappointed that they were neither crispy nor tasty. My tacos literally fell apart from being soaked and it somewhat ruined my dining experience on this hot summer day. While I was so blown away by their Fashion Island location this one definitely could use some help. Verdict: 3.5 Stars for reasonable priced food, great ambiance and friendly service. I use to go to Wahoo's a lot back in the day and was super excited when they built one nearby located near the Orange Circle. It has a nice setup inside and patio dining/seating. They have some tasty fish tacos and shrimp tacos. My favorite item to get is their Maui Bowl. So yum! With a side of sour cream it's amazing! The staff was great and the service was quick. This was the second of three Mexican restaurants we tried while in the area for a wedding. It was good, and we would return. But it wasn't the best fish taco ever--not by a long shot. We had two Citrus Slaw Taco™s with fish (Soft Corn Tortillas, Cheese, Aioli Sauce, & Citrus Slaw Mix-- Cabbage, Cilantro, Onions & Carrots, tossed in Lime Juice, Olive Oil & Secret Spices). These were okay, but the mix and sauce just wasn't that well made or flavorful, and it didn't add much to the fish. We also had The 1988 Taco with fish (Cheese, Lettuce or Cabbage & Salsa). This was the better of the two dishes, but it still underwhelmed us. Guess we may have to go a little further south in California to get really good fish tacos. The space is fun. It's a house that has been turned into a multi-space restaurant. The decor is kind of SoCal sticker kitsch, but in a good way. There is ample outside seating as well. I would not make a special trip to eat here, but I might stop in if I were in the area and hungry for fish tacos. But then there are dozens (hundreds?) of other fish taco places in the areas that we would want to try first. read more

I used to visit this location a bit when I lived close to Old Town Orange and attended Chapman. It's in a cute bungalow style building between a fried chicken restaurant and a vintage store, on the outer area of one of the roads leading to the roundabout. (Same one where you will find Urth Caffe, Elsewhere Vintage, and Snooze.) Parking options are street parking or the city structure. The latter usually has plenty of spots available any time of the day. They have outdoor seating as an option or you can order to-go via a delivery app or in person. Recently I placed an order via a delivery app and did a pickup. The food was ready sooner than the timeframe I set in app. Luckily I was in the area and picked it up when it was ready. They give you good-sized portions - I can easily make two meals out of a bowl. The food is fresh and tastes great. It's a good option for those who want quick food but something fresh and a bit healthier than a typical fast food place. read more
