I confirmed the service and price multiple times before they started. The price was even listed on the wall, so there was no confusion. In the middle of my appointment, the employee stopped working on me and went to talk with another staff member about me, which made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Then, while they were still working on me, another employee came over and suddenly told me the price would be $40 more than what had already been confirmed. That is completely unprofessional. If prices are going to change, that should be communicated clearly before starting the service -- not when working on you. I ended up leaving because the whole experience felt unpleasant, uncomfortable, and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place based on my experience. read more

Really nice lady but dang the quality is just not there....no tub cover she put the foot scrubber back in with other foot scrubber in the drawer without drying it or sanitizing it. I first went to Waipiʻo Nails because it was convenient. Over the years, I've found the following add amazing value; I'm always a walk in due to my schedule: *I usually get the deluxe pedi, and kids and I have had gel on our hands a few times -Taking walk-ins: 9/10 times, I'm seated either immediately or within 20 minutes. -They have a great system to working on a family walk-in (such as myself + 1 or 2 of my kids), and I've seen this done with other couples + moms with kids -They are very sanitary. I've gone to locations that use 'bags' in the bowl and still got an infection. Sanitation is beyond the bowl, and I've had no issues at this location in 3 years now. -Price: Their price is industry standard and once they see you once or twice, they don't pressure you for add ons once they catch your vibe, budget, life story/lifestyle. -All the employees are very kind, even to my kids. -They play Food Network haha, it's honestly perfect to get me off my phone and relaxed in the moment, sometimes drifting for a 5 minute nap lol -The owners work there daily. Horrible experience. My bracelet that I haven't taken off since my wedding got caught on my purse. This has happened before and I was able to get it off no problem. The lady doing my nails, Kim was impatient with me, trying to unhook my bracelet, grabbed my wrist and bent my gold bracelet completely out of shape. she had no remorse, nor did the man who I believe owns or manages the shop. In fact, they yelled at me for blaming them. I had told her to stop and said she was ruining my bracelet, unfortunately, it was too late. They were not helpful at all and were extremely rude, they also refused to replace the bracelet that Kim ruined, not that it would make a difference as this particular bracelet held sentimental value. On top of all that, the service was horrible. I asked Kim if she could clean up the polish around my cuticles, which she did not. She literally pretended she was cleaning it up and did absolutely nothing. Second, I asked if she had a shiny topcoat, she said no without even checking. Third, this is NOT the color I normally get. for years, I have ONLY gone with one color, OPI Funny Bunny, Kim knows this as I went to her two other times before. This time she wouldn't show me the bottle but insisted it was my color. Once I was in the light, I could clearly see it is not. I highly suggest going to PROFESSIONAIL in WAIKELE instead. Wanted to get my nails done and it was super last minute. Called their shop and they told me to come in since they could fit me in. When i got there, there were a lot of ladies getting pedicures. It is a small shop but it's very clean. I waited for maybe 10-15 minutes before i was seen. I was okay with that since i came with no appointment. Kim, was the one who greeted me as soon as i walked and she was the one to do my nails as well. She was very friendly and I asked for her suggestion on what kind of nails I'd like to get. It's really a hit or miss.. let me explain me and my friend got our nails done here What I got was a nail fill and changed the color and such... we decided to come here to do it ... my last set lasted about 3 weeks which was done at another nail salon but 2 of my nails came loose so that's when we decided let's stay closer to home this time and try here out together .. I do think they did a great job with shape and color is cute too I've been putting off writing this yelp but I haven't even had my nails 1 week and 3 days ... After getting my nails done 2 days later I returned because 2 came loose again... 2 days after that 1 more broke .. and now on 1 week 3 days one nail broke and 2 others are about to fall off ... That being said the nails I came back the first time to fix are my strongest nails . Kim did great fixing the 2 nails but I think I will stuck to my normal nail salon... If I do come here again Kim will be the one I request . The guy who did my nails before I came back and got Kim to fix it was nice .. and I feel like I was over charged tbh Since I did ask the guy how much would chrome cost extra he said my total would be 20 more so total would be 58 he said .. But I paid 71 and some change when I asked if I could tip he charged that separate So you can tip with card . i figure it would make sense to ask but the guy said exactly with chrome my total will be 58 ... went to lunch with my friend and said maybe he charged for the nail polish they had to use specifically for chrome but the price didn't make sense to us ... I just won't be back unless I go to Kim. I don't hate my nails I just wished they lasted longer without the breaking problem . It's a local place that is more about quantity of customers than the quality of what they're offering. Sanitation of tools was a joke and they use them between multiple customers. Didn't see them wash basins between clients and was just an overall disappointing experience. They told us they were super busy after we got there and had to wait over 30 min for appointments we had booked in advance. They don't manage time or clients well. Won't be back won't recommend. Waipio Nails for me was the spot I just drove to and low key knew that I could just walk in and get it done. I very impulsively needed my long nails cut and gell taken off. I didn't want to wait to make an appointment anywhere and I didn't have to at Waipio Nails. The vibes are actually pretty chill. It's a small shop and not necessarily luxurious in any way, but seemingly clean and calm. Everyone while I was there seemed to talk in hushed tones. There's a few TV's playing food network (my favorite public/waiting room channel). I came in around 5pm and was seated immediately. I told the nail technician that I wanted my gell removed and my nails cut and it wasn't an issue at all. I'm not going to lie, there was a bit of pride when other nail techs came over saying that my natural nails looked like acrylic extensions. And then... the sigh of despair that came from my nail tech when she cut them off. I was charged an extra $10 for gel removal in addition to the base price of $17 for the manicure. $27 for gel removal and a quick manicure is pretty good! They don't let you tip on credit card, so be sure to bring cash for tip! read more

I'm in between 3 & 4 stars.. I woke up bright and early to beat the weekend line. Parked out front and the lady noticed me. When a line started to form 10mins prior to opening, I hopped out my A/c car and the sweet lady offered me a chair and I got to sign in first as we waited for them to finish cleaning. I appreciate the fact that she honored this since other ppl beat me to the door but I was waiting longer.. From reading other reviews, I was praying not to get Tony..with my luck, I got Tony. We first started with my acrylic full set. I showed him a picture and he began. It felt a bit rough but nothing I couldn't handle. If you're sensitive, I don't recommend him. The way he shaped my nails was perfectly fine, absolutely no complaints about that. I washed my hands after he was done shaping my nails, right before he was ready to paint them. He doesn't clean well under the nails. There was left over dried acrylic powder residue that he didn't remove. But the outcome turned out great!....until the next day. I noticed spacing already there and would need to refill soon. Could be the crappiest acrylic powder they used or he shaved it down too much. Acrylics last a long while on my nails which is why I don't pay extra for gel. I was in and out of there within 70mins for a full set and gel pedicure. For the price he charged for a pedicure so not worth it. He basically rubbed lotion, massaged for what felt like less than a minute, put the scrub on, rubbed for less than a minute and then washed it off. I was not offered the deluxe pedicure as he seemed to rush to get to the next girl in line. Next time I am requesting one of the ladies and coming in during a weekday. From what I watched, Tiana gives good massages to the man next to me.. Aside from the crappy pedicure and fast service, I dig the aesthetics. Bamboo plants in diamond shaped walls is a great touch! It's not ventilated well as the nail chemicals were strong, so next time I'm bringing a face mask because I am pregnant. read more

They are located in the Waipio shopping center on the Foodland side, next to Flora's. Their staff are all very nice, quick, and friendly! They have good social distancing and COVID safety measures in place, they have dividers at each station and try to social distance customers from each other depending on how busy they are. The massage chair is sooo comfortable and relaxing! It's a great touch to getting a pedicure and get all that muscle tension out, 2 for one benefit! Went to this place to get my nails done. Got SHORT white squoval acrylics and was charged $60. I came in with clean (no polish) and already cut nails. I see the price for acrylic nails was $35? I'm happy to be only 3 mins away from my new nail salon. I like that this salon is actively involved in helping the community with this pandemic by supplying lots of face masks for adult and children and face shields for little cost. Complimentary travel sanitizers for hands. If the edges to my gelish were little more smooth I'd give a 5th star but I have horrible nails so I cant be too picky. They were highly recommended to me by my mom. Apparently Kim is really good. She started my nails and then her appt came in so she told me to move and put me with someone else (didn't get her name). First, I asked them not to shave my nails, they shaved them anyway. Then my finger tips were on fire every time she glued an extention. All the while the staff is just starring at me. She filed my cuticles and scratched my fingers. She was so nice and was really trying but it's clear she's still learning. When I left I realized the extentions weren't the right size for my nails and because she filed them after painting, some of my nails have bare sides. Last time I ever go there. My mom said that doesn't sound like the owner to tell people "move". Lesson: everyone is nice when they think you got money. I didn't tell them I was referred, I didn't think I had to in order to get good customer service and a nice set of nails. From far away they look nice, up close they look a week old. Wait time for my usual nail salon was an hour, so I ended up here at Waipio Nails and they happily took me as a walk-in and serviced me immediately. Michael was my nail technician, he talked me in to getting the deluxe package (extra treatment on a pedi), plus a gel french mani, so it was great that he was willing to spend the extra time servicing me. He was great at the massage, but unfortunately, he did a terrible job at shaping my nails, pushing back my cuticles, and buffing my nails. Additionally, I got a French tip and I was unhappy with the shaping of the tips. Towards the end he started to rush with his job, barely spent any time at shaping my nails. Worst part, he just started polishing my nails, and I didn't get a chance to wash my hands. I was disappointed as I was taking a trip in a few hours and no time to go anywhere else to correct. I'm so sad to write this review. I used to come here awhile back, it may have been under a different owner. I believe they've changed a few times not really sure though. I came in after a long hike and wanted to enjoy a nice mani/pedi, my feet were killing me and what better way to wind down. The only good thing about this visit was on a Sunday in the early afternoon they could take me right in. Great! I was worried that they would be too busy because of the weekend. However by the end of my session, they were packed and people were waiting for services. I had just got my toes done a couple weeks prior so I didn't really need one to begin with. This visit consisted of a rush job for each service. Yes I paid for just a typical mani/pedi. The message given was literally 2 minutes which blew my mind bc all other places spend at least 5 min. That I've been too. I got a gel mani as well, the total time I spent in their was 40 minutes.
