(Sample picture below) she started off asking me which base color I wanted for my acrylics (didn't know that was a thing) and then she asked me what shape I wanted and what colors I wanted. i chose blue (should've stayed with the pink and red lol) and then she told me the total was gonna be $95. She spoke quietly so I thought I heard extra $5. and then she proceeded to do my nails. She was good. So unfortunate that I'm making this review on behalf of my very rude service I experienced yesterday. My nail tech was Kimmy. Didn't bother trying to talk to me. Gave me attitude about picking between three different shades. She was pretty rough when drilling one side. Im guessing she was trying to rush because it started to get a little bit more busier. Charged me 5$ for my length of my nails and made a comment that I need to take care when I have long nails as if I've never had my nails done before -.- My last visit I had Rosie and what a difference it was from that visit and this one. My friends and I decided to reserve a spot at 5:30pm so we can all get our nails done after work. Once we arrived, we were all taken in fairly quickly as 1) there were only two other customers in the shop, and 2) we reserved ahead of time. I had Tony, and I was pretty excited considering I've read a lot of good Yelp reviews about him. Because this was my first time at a nail salon, I didn't know what to expect AT ALL, and was kind of nervous. I wanted to get my nails done for my college graduation because I hadn't really spoiled myself in my whole four years of school. It turns out the experience wasn't too bad. I asked for a full set gel manicure. Tony trimmed my nails and then glued on plastic tips. Then he applied a thin coat of clear acrylic. After filing and shaping them into a square, he gave me a giant set of different nail polish colors to choose from. To be honest, I was overwhelmed by the amount of colors and just stuck with a plain light blue one. Tony then asked if I wanted a fade or just one solid color. I had a design from Pinterest that I really wanted to get, but I was too scared to take my phone out of my pocket to show it to him, so I said I'd do a solid color. He applied three coats of the color and then laid on a top coat making the application look quite beautiful. The only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars is because I've read time and time again that Tony does great designs, but I just hadn't gotten that full experience yet. I will most likely be back, and when I do, I'll ask for something better! read more

They did mention my nail being on the small side and that the design would be hard so maybe thats my fault.. However, the person Tony who did my nails literally cut and drilled my skin raw. The ladies at Waipio Nails were all very nice and welcoming. They seemed to care about their customers. However, I would never return to this establishment because of its employee Tony. Not only was Tony rude, careless, and hostile but he also did a horrible job on my nails. He roughly shaped them, tore my cuticles, and applied the acrylic bumpily and not smoothly. Negative attitude aside, Tony does not possess the skills worth charging $55 dollars for acrylic nails. My nails ended up looking crooked and patchy. Decided to go here because they close at 8p on weekdays and I really don't like to make appointments unless I have to... Walked in around 630 and got seated instantly (guess it was a good day for me). I got acrylic gel nails $50. Already walking in I felt a little rushed, but I guess that was just my fault for walking in an hour and a half before closing. The tech was nice and the place is clean. I showed him a picture of how I wanted my nails done and it was done exactly like it! I would definitely go here again. I like how they close 1 hour later than most nail places. Found this place at the last minute. I rarely ever do my nails, so it's a real treat when I do. They were very friendly, small place, but clean and I appreciated the (covid) barriers between seats. The reason I'm writing the review though is because I do gel nails- bc they last longer- BUT over the years, everywhere I do them, they seem to peel off in about a month if I'm lucky. Waipio nails is located in the shopping center next to Foodland. Been coming here to get my nails and eyebrow wax for years. But I don't just go to anyone, I always request for Rosie. You can call ahead and make an appointment, because she can get busy. The only thing I dislike is that there's always a wait for her even with an appointment. When I arrive she's barely finishing up with them. But because her work is great, I keep coming back. My nails always last a couple of months before the color starts to chip or peel. She cleans the nail really well and the way she applies color is clean. I hated those nail techs that would apply clumpy nail polish or leave trails of it on your skin. She'd always check to see if there is any on the skin and if there is, she'll clean it off. The shop has a cute chair for little girls to get their pedicure with their mommies. The shop is clean. When it gets full and busy in here, expect it to be difficult to move around. The shop is small and they only have 4 chairs in the waiting area. The plus side to waiting if you're getting a pedicure? You get to soak your feet and sit in their massage chair while you wait for your tech to finish. read more

Nope, don't bother. Apparently they don't want you to bother them too, unless you purchase their most expensive services. Went in for a mani (no gel, told the woman it damages my nails) and it was done in 20 minutes. The polish was ok on the day I did it, but ONE day later, it's peeling. Guess this makes me appreciate my other nail salons and will now drive farther for much better services. read more

Compared to a regular nail salon that isn't super luxurious, it is pretty nice and clean. The atmosphere is cool, calm and relaxing. The massaging chairs are very comfortable and new. The temperature is perfect. Not freezing or hot either. There's a big screen tv and I'm watching some historical channel. The time I went (Sunday afternoon) it wasn't too busy and we were sat down immediately in the pedicure chair. Parking is free and lots of it, unless you hit a busy time and day but you'll still be able to snag a spot within 5 minutes. NOW HERE's the IMPORTANT PART: The girls are awesome, ask the for owner. She scrubbed off all my boyfriend's calluses off. They were horrendous and I thought they were uncleanable and unfixable, but miraculously she got the job done. However, the guy that works there.... don't .... EVER... go ... to .... HIM!!!! His massage is PAINFUL! Feels like my calves are burning because he does it so hard and the SAME repetitive move. He didn't even massage my feet, which the owner massaged my boyfriend's feet. Also, he didn't make my feet feel completely clean and soft, but my feet was still a little rough and it's like he didn't do anything. ACTUALLY what happened was when he JUST did the right foot of mine, I asked him to do the "callus" of my feet and he said he already did, then he started on my left side just a little. Yup looks like he didn't even do anything then. What a waste of money! But the lady I can tell was AWESOME... I can just SEE that the massage was amazing, my boyfriend said it was and he was also falling asleep... and HIS feet look cleaner than MINE! Can you BELIEVE that? When I went back to ask them to change the color they said it was because it was "regular color" that only lasts 1-2 days. 1-2 days has never been my experience in any other nail salon I've gone too. I am very pleased with this nail salon and I do intend on coming back! I've been wanting to get my nails done for my birthday but every time I got my nails done it was very disappointing. I decided to trust my cousin as she said that the place she's going to does a really nice job. I had actually two people working on me, one was doing my pedicure and the other finished my nail design. Pedicure- My techs name was Kim, she was very nice and gentle with me. She took her time and the tools they use are always sterilized and bagged (which made me feel so much better). She perfectly executed the toe nail design that I envisioned and I was very impressed! Gel full set with nail design- as we moved on to my nails Kim was doing very well shaping my nails(I got stiletto nails). Her work was very clean and nicely filed. She took her time which I liked and she made sure that I liked every nail shape. Although Kim didn't tell me herself, she was having a hard time accomplishing the design, and that's when she had me move to her co worker Rosie. Rosie was the best nail tech I have ever had. I was starting to feel a little bad that my nail design was a little complicating but when Rosie took over she did terrific!! She did not seen intimated by what I wanted and knew exactly how to get it done!! I also had 3d bows on two fingers and I was so happy when I seen the outcome. The bows look so well put together!! Overall these girls rtook their time with me and you can easily see it on my nails. If yours looking for a place to go, go and see Kim or Rosie! They are the bomb! Today I'm trying their deluxe service which is an extra $13 to the $25 price. I really didn't feel that it was worth the extra money. The massage really wasn't that much longer and the hot stone is really fast. Their normal pedi already includes a little more than most pedis at other places and is a great pedi for the price so id say stick to the regular and you'll still be happy and $13 richer. I also tried gelish with my mani and French tips. I normally don't do manicures cause I'm always cleaning and they never last. I've never had a gelish before . My nails are natural and I must say it came out beautiful- it looks like I got acrylic nails. Let's see how long it lasts. So today I got deluxe pedi with French tips, mani with gelish and tips...all together $78. Yikes. I'd recommend to just stick with the regular pedi and gelish mani for special occasions. read more

Tony, Chi and Mai have done my pedicures when Kim wasn't available and all of them did a terrible job. My polish chips within days! I believe it is time to find a new nail salon. First off, Ive been here before and they've done an alright job, my friend and I decided to give them a shot today. I called around 10am today to see if they have any last minute appointments, I was surprised to hear they did considering all this covid craziness. She offered 11, I asked for 11:15 she said no problem. This appointment was confirmed for both my friend and myself which are BOTH pregnant and just wanted to pamper a little today. We were here 5 minutes early, they started on me first at 11:30 while my friend sat next to me and didn't start on her until 11:45(which btw she was done by 12:10) and I was finished by 11:50. This has to be the worst pedicure I have ever received and I am NOT that picky. I work in this industry and know what should be done. Tony did my pedicure, and it was beyond rushed, mean while there is no more than 2 people waiting outside. He did not say one word to me. Started cutting my nails without asking what I wanted. And he did not even CLEAN under the toenails. We did not feel welcomed at all. I also have one toe nail that ripped and he literally painted over my skin to make it "look" even!!! I rate this 3 1/2 stars...I went here a couple weeks ago. I had called ahead for a 4pm appointment about 3:15 and they said, sure, come right in. Wait was minimal, about 10 or 15 minutes and it was a little after 4 when I was taken to a chair. I wanted a pedicure. The girl that greeted me started my water and then went back to a different customer. The water was REALLY hot but I wasn't sure of the best way to let them know since all the technicians were with other customers and I don't like interrupting. The girl at the station next to mine noticed I wasn't putting my feet in the water so she called the other one over to add a little cooler water...and it became lukewarm. Whatever. I figured I would deal. I think I said about 3 times that I wanted a french pedicure..but then, it was to 3 different people. They were friendly enough. I'm not the kind of person that talks through my whole pedicure so it was nice that they didn't get too chatty I did like that the technician was using gloves but sometimes her nail digging into my toe was a little painful. The pedicure itself was good but nothing stand-out-ish. It was a normal pedicure. I did have to ask to get a few toenails cut shorter as my nails grow quite quick. And the french tip was a little wider than what I am used to having. The only negative I had was that during the rinsing of my calves, the back of my thighs on the seat started getting wet. Rather than using a new towel, the girl took a USED towel from the station over to put under my legs. Kinda grossed me out...but I did prefer having dry thighs... I can't say I won't go back because I probably will. They were very efficient considering I had 2 different people helping me and they were friendly. I was a walk in and they took me as soon as I signed in! After you sign in they immediately tell you to choose colors instead of waiting first. The nail technician, Rosie, helped me and she was very nice and helpful. I just did a single color on my toes. For my hands, I wanted to do a design off the Internet and Rosie replicated it on point! She even stopped me from asking for more (black color) because it would drown out the other nail colors. Thank God she gave me her insight before my nails would not turn out so great. I would say one thing I was super impressed with was the shaping of my nails. I did oval nails and she took a little while to file them all but trust me, it was worth it. Each nail looks perfectly shaped, no over filing, no under filing. AND it's centered in the middle. They sterilize their tools well with a machine and the tubs are cleaned after each use.
