I came to Nail Design Mililani Mauka once or twice before I thought they were pretty good, so I decided to give them a try again. And this time I was definitely not disappointed. I call that morning to make an appointment and said it was okay to schedule with whoever was available. I got there and was taken right away. I chose the nail shape I wanted and showed her a nail inspo picture of what I wanted my nails to look like. It came out so so nice and I got a lot of compliments. It's not every day I get to do my nails and only get them done when I go on vacation or if it's a really special occasion so I'm always happy when a place can produce a design exactly how I asked them. I was also very happy that they cleaned up the nails really good before designing it because I've had places that still had caked up stuff under my nails and it really bothered me. Had a free day unexpectedly so decided to get a much needed mani pedi I wasn't able to do before Christmas. On Friday, Dec 26, I had driven to two other places in Mililani Town, both were packed. Called Nail Design and someone picked up the phone yay! Was able to drive there within 15 minutes and Moon was my technician. She did a good job removing gel and was efficient with both mani and pedi. I was happy with the color she suggested and also the slight sparkle she put on as a suggestion for New Years. Prices are very reasonable. The place is smallish but clean. I like the mounted tvs, not too loud. Pedicure chairs are cushy and comfy with great choices for massage. I like to just listen to my audio book and relax on their massage chair while getting my pedi. I wish their massages were a bit better though but I guess that depends on who you get. When telling worker what i want they would constantly push you to do a higher price service. I had 2 of guests visiting from the mainland that just wanted the basic pedicure Whice cost was $48.00, a piece but when came to pay, their bill was totaled up to $150.00 for both of them. I came in for an acrylic nail removal + new set of gel nails, hoping for a soak off to keep my nails as healthy as possible. She started off soaking my nails, but then pulled out a scraping tool, and started to pop / pry off the acrylic off my nails, despite me telling her that it hurt me numerous times. After the acrylics were off, she prepped my nails by cutting my cuticles and filing down my nails for a rough surface for the gel to adhere. She cut my skin and caused me to bleed not once, but twice. She freaked out by the second time and said "sorry your skin is too soft." You'd think you'd know from the first time you nicked me? She filed my nails down a LOT, and my nails are extremely brittle now as I feel it after 2-3 weeks of grow out. She took 2 hours to get this service done. I paid $70~ for my service, which I thought was a bit pricey for the services I got, compared to the salon I usually go to get my acrylics done. In short, if you want your cuticles done, this nail salon does it - I know some ladies enjoy that service. If you want a proper soak off (like what I expected), don't come here. Came in for a removal. Over filed my nails and still left product on them. I just had builder gel. Multiple hot spots during the process and multiple rings of fire after the removal. (Rings not caused by previous nail technician). Poor sanitation practices. Cross contamination. Called in on a Friday afternoon and they were able to fit me in within 30 minutes which was great! Walked in and they got me seated right away. I wanted a simple gel manicure and my technician was quick but did not produce quality work. I requested round nails but unfortunately my nail shapes were all off. Some round, some square. The also got nail polish under my fingers. At the end of my manicure, they massaged my arms with lotion that smelled bad. First of all this is a cute, clean, and well kept nail salon. As soon as you step in you are greeted with a smile and asked how they can help you today. All the staff are very sweet. Nancy & Tonya are usually the ones I get my nails done by. I've had a pedicure from a few different people and so have my girls. Never have any of us had a bad experience. And they are great with my kids! My nails last over 3 weeks and my pedicures 4-6 weeks! Their work is quality and it shows. I am always complimented on my nails and whatever design we do. I came to get my nails taken off- it was close to my house. Big mistake. When I asked to get my nails taken off they asked (naturally) if I wanted anything else. I said no. While in the process of getting my nails taken off the technician asked where I got my nails done and if they took nails off. To start off, in the beginning of my appointment I asked for an acrylic long nail PEDICURE. Never did I ever mention a MANICURE, NEVER. So for this nail technician I had an initial conversation with hand it off to another employee with the incorrect information is where they first went wrong. I ASKED FOR A CLASSIC PEDICURE WITH LONG ACRYLIC NAILS. After my tech was done washing my feet, she started painting, I noticed they weren't doing the acrylic application so I chimed in and said acrylic yeah???? She said yes, just checking the color. So I fell back asleep. I woke up to my nails done with NO ACRYLIC, and being guided to get a pedicure done. So me being understandably upset said I wanted long nails on my feet, not my short regular ones. The technician I first talked to chimed in and took over the conversation, screaming and yelling about how I wasn't clear about what I said. This lady had no right to treat a customer that way and then talk shit right in front of my face to another customer. AND THEN I GO BACK TO THE SHOP AND MAKE SURE I'M CHARGED CORRECTLY, to see the lady that spoke to me disrespectfully with her MASK NOW OFF WITH NOTHING TO SAY You have no right to be speaking to customers like that and expect them to come back! read more

Had the worse experience a year ago in this establishment but I make it my personal mission to post publicly the humiliation and disrespect my minor child received in their establishment. To this very day she will not step foot in another nail salon all because of the rude, unprofessional woman berated her and yelled at her for asking a simple question about how the lady was doing her nails. I enjoy a good pedicure with a nice foot massage but this past experience was not what I was hoping for. I normally go to another salon but that one was fully booked for the day I wanted to go. So i went here because I've gone here before as a second choice. I made an appt for my sister, daughter, and myself at 4pm. We get there and it's busy so we waited 45 minutes to get seated. I'm not a complainer so I didn't mind waiting. My sister mentioned that her lady said because it was super bowl weekend they're normally busier than normal. My advice, go after super bowl or before that weekend. I get seated and my lady who did my pedicure seemed stressed. I say nothing and let her do her thing. I get the gel pedicure and added the callus treatment for extra $5. Oh boy, my lady went to town scrapping and taking out all the junk off my feet and between my toe nails. I enjoyed it but the after sensation to my toes was sensitive. It wasn't until I was done did I realize I didn't get my foot massage which the gel pedi comes with a deep massage. This is why I like coming to nail salons. All she did was rub my calfs with lotion and went straight to nail polish. Again, I didn't realized until after I was off the chair and waiting for my sister to finish up. Again I'm no complainer , and don't get me wrong the service was great. The ladies towards the front apologized numerous times for keeping us waiting. My daughters lady and my sisters lady were both great. They made conversation and apologized for the wait. They both deserve great rating but my lady was not like them. My lady was older and seemed more stressed because right after me she cleaned up real quick and took in another customer. Again, she seemed stress so when I tipped her I showed her respect and said thank you (anyways). No hard feelings I get that it was busy but, I was expecting better service for myself. Overall, this is just my experience this past week. They're normally nice and have great service. Rude nail techs. Treated my 16 year old daughter and her friend poorly saying things like "hurry up girl" when she was asked to redo the nail design. Didn't look anything like the design requested and they put stickers on her nails- opposite of what was requested. I could have put those Mickey Mouse stickers on for free. A rushed job that puts a stain on the name "nail design." Go elsewhere. You don't want to pay to get low quality designs and be treated like garbage. I went to go get a pedicure with a friend and there was almost no wait. We both got deluxe pedicures and the service techs did an amazing job! The massages were some of the best I have received while getting a pedicure. My tech did a great job removing my cuticles, scraping off dead skin and applying paint. I'm not one to get my nails done often but my eyebrows do require quite a bit of maintenance. I've been getting my brows done here for 7+ years! They always do a meticulous job and provide aloe for my sensitive skin. I have gotten basic manicures/pedicures a couple of times as well. They always last long! If I'm not in a rush I just walk in. I would not recommend this salon. You will find more affordable and definitely higher quality technicians just a few minutes away in Mililani Town / Waipio. Stopped by because I was in a rush to get my nails dipped. They charge $45 for just the dip (doesn't include mani) and extra $5 more if you want to dip with more than one color... What a rip off!!!! You can go 10 min away to T&T Perfect Nail (in waipio) or Perfection Nail (next to safeway) and pay $35 for 2 color mix. When asking questions - the associates of course talked amongst themselves and then went silent. I had to re-ask my question again to finally get an answer... super unprofessional. Dip nail color selection was mediocre at best - not all of their colors have samples to view so you have to judge it by the powder :/ not helpful AT ALL Last time I came I got a rash on my foot when doing a pedi - I was hoping this time would be a better experience but unfortunately it's still meh - two thumbs down. .. Literally the ONLY place that says they accepts walks ins and actually accepts walk ins. I've been here twice. It's very cheap and nails look great afterwards. I tried calling a few places to see if they had any openings that day, but everyone was booked. I wanted to get a gel mani and regular pedi done before I left of my trip. I've gotten a gel mani before (not from here) and it did so much damage to my nails. I was hesitant, but I needed my nails to last, so I gave it a shot. I received so many compliments on my nails and nobody knew I paid $100 for a gel mani, pedi AND another pedi for the Yelp BFF. And the fact that they just brought in new massage chairs makes it that much better (yes, massage chairs are super important). I don't do my nails often. This establishment has all the safety measures in place for COVID-19, from taking your temperature to plexiglass between customers and nail technicians to face masks. They also make you sign a waiver acknowledging the services being provided during this pandemic. I felt safe here, the service was great, I didn't have to wait, and my nails look great. Took my daughter here for a walk-in appointment for her junior prom. Even though it was the afternoon before the event and they were booked with appointments, we were welcomed and serviced right away. My daughter only wanted her brows done, but we decided to add acrylic gels to that and I was very pleased with the fast and friendly service we received. I felt that the prices for facial waxing were fair, as well as the nails. And we were both pleased with how her brows and nails came out. The salon is a little lacking in appearance, but the stations were clean. My daughter had been there earlier in the day for a pedicure with her grandmother and both left satisfied with their toes. I normally don't get my nails done, but my best friend and I decided to do our nails for my upcoming wedding. First I'd like to say that they were very accommodating! Our appointment was for 9am and we were running extremely late, so they were able to squeeze us in for 10am. The nail tech Tanya, did a phenomenal job on my nails! I showed her a pic of what I wanted & she gave me exactly that. PLUS she added rhinestone for free and said she wanted to help me feel special for the big day!!
