For the base price of ~$20 including tax (they include tip in the $18 menu price) it's a really small burrito and you'll still be hungry afterwards. Their pitch is higher quality organic ingredients. The ingredients probably are more healthy than a typical burrito shop but the price is just too high. If you do try, get the cilantro crème sauce with every bite. Don't bother paying for extra sauce online, when you arrive you can ask the staff for free sauce. Would recommend going to lucky boy nearby instead which is $12 for triple the size and the quality is similar. Hard to tell if I don't feel bloated bc of the higher quality ingredients/less oily or bc it was so little food. Order online and pick up within 15 min. I've heard about Wake and Late for awhile now and finally decided to see what the hype was all about. I got the steak burrito with the aioli and hot sauce - definitely a 10/10 for me! It's simple, but flavorful at the same time. The tater tots are crispy and the steak is seasoned well. I will say the sauces do make it taste better, but I do think it still tastes good alone. They only have 4 options for burritos along with their own version of bagels "rip and dip" which I've tried before. I have had Wake and Late a few times at their DTLA location, but had to visit the Pasadena location when I heard it opened. The burritos are so delicious and I didn't know they had other items like bagels, cream cheese, pastries, and drinks. The service was amazing the staff is so friendly, kind, and food is ready quickly. I came here on a Monday when it was pretty empty and again on a Saturday Morning when it was super busy. Both times I had a positive experience and my burritos were ready within 10 minutes. (So don't let the line forming outside deter you) The burritos themselves are simple, but so tasty I have tried to recreate them at home and have failed. I am not sure how they do it, but they have created my favorite breakfast burrito (and it's the vegetarian one). The building is beautiful, but because it seems like they share the space seating is limited so something to keep in mind. Very much a get your order to go sort of place. The main complaint about this place is the PRICE. The portions have gotten so much smaller and the price higher. My vegetarian burrito was about $16 after taxes and the steak is about $19. read more

The few additional seats within the order pickup area to the right are far outnumbered by the mob of queuing patrons. The aroma of bacon dominates the air, and retro tunes echo around the sky-high, minimally decorated walls. My partner and I arrived mid-morning for weekend breakfast, and we were surprised by the line stretching out the door. After ordering, we faced a 15-minute wait, as orders were called out sequentially. We were handed a nondescript paper bag, warm from the freshly cooked treats within. The bagels were shaped more like softballs, sporting a slightly crispy blistered crust and pillowy sourdough heart. Of our duo, I preferred the flavor-forward Sweet Onion, but the rich, salty Parm was no slouch either. Our sides of cream cheese were portioned in separate takeout cups, and the generous portions never left me needing to ration. I'm not too sure how parking is at the building they are located in because we parked by Urth to grab coffee and walked over. It was roughly a 5 mins walk. We also wanted to try their bagels and glad we didn't miss out on the opportunity. The bagels were soft on the inside like fresh white bread. The outside was crispy but not hard, just right. I ordered one at the DTLA location and they forgot the vanilla and it was too strong to drink. The Pasadena location needs to move solely to a takeout location like the DTLA location. The Pasadena location is a huge space, but only a small portion of it is used for customers to sit and dine in. First visit a few weeks ago to the Pasadena location, there was a line that snaked around the tables where customers were squished together trying to enjoy their food and it wasn't pleasant for any of us. The building is airy and beautiful, I could see where all the money is going to because the rent cause be cheap for this spot but the accommodations were underwhelming and feel like uncomfortable patio furniture. Parking is street, but in the morning you'll find some spots. People mostly take their items to go, although there's a dining area inside. Ordered the following: - Cinnamon roll - 3/10: pretty horrible actually. In my head, I was thinking I'd get one fresh from one of those large ovens in the back, but the cashier had one already boxed up and slid it over to me. It tasted cold, stale, super sugary and just not very good. This was pretty comparable to the honey buns you can get at a gas station. And I paid 6 bucks for this. - Bacon burrito - 6.5/10: this one was actually pretty tasty. The use bacon bits instead of strips, and supposedly the bacon is some of the best you can get, at least that's what the cashier told me. Couldn't really tell to be honest. But it did pair well with the tater tots they stuffed inside. On that note, you will end up paying 17 bucks and some change for a small tortilla, bacon, eggs and tater tots. Total damage: 26 bucks. Between two recently, we got the Bacon Breakfast Burrito, Pastrami Breakfast Burrito, and the "rip and dip" Plain bagel with a side of the Scallion Whipped Spread -- 100/10 would recommend going for the plain bagel with scallion whipped spread (IMO, this is easily one of the best bagels I've had in LA) and if I'm grabbing a burrito from here again, would go for the Bacon. read more

Compared to the LA Downtown location, super mid. I was extremely excited that a Wake & Late opened up closer to my home so I ran to get their burrito. Mind you that every person I take to Wake & Late, absolutely fall in love with their burritos. The day I came to the Pasadena location was when I was deeply disappointed. My burrito was cold, you can see in the photo that the cheese was not even melted even though its right next to the hash browns. An utter disappointment. I also had an opportunity to talk to the location's manager and he sounded extremely excited that Wake & Late has plans to expand into 4-5 stores across the LA and Santa Monica region. Although I was excited, if this is how they quality control while the manager is there... im worried. Please note, that I have never tried their coffee and cannot speak on that.
