This location took over the old Le Cordon Bleu school here in Pasadena! The interior was kept the same, which is pretty nostalgic for someone who grew up coming to this location for meals. PROS: - Bacon Burrito: packed with great textures and flavors from all the breakfast-y items your heart desires. The burrito wasn't too oily and didn't make me feel like I was going to hit a food coma, which is always a plus. - Cilantro crema: DELICIOUS. Tried this spot in old town Pasadena because it was in the same building as my gym. I asked if they had a vegan breakfast burrito and although it's not listed on the menu, they gladly modified their regular one by taking out the eggs and cheddar cheese. They asked if I wanted to add pickled jalapeño and I'm glad I did. The burrito was tasty, but my major complaint was that it only about the third of the size of a traditional breakfast burrito. I fear this will be short and to the point. Were the bagels good? Yes. Was the burrito good, I'm going to go with no. Was it terrible? Also no but considering it was $18 (!!!!!!) I will say it wasn't worth the price. I'd wager to say that even half the price would be too high. Compared to the LA Downtown location, super mid. I was extremely excited that a Wake & Late opened up closer to my home so I ran to get their burrito. Mind you that every person I take to Wake & Late, absolutely fall in love with their burritos. The day I came to the Pasadena location was when I was deeply disappointed. My burrito was cold, you can see in the photo that the cheese was not even melted even though its right next to the hash browns. An utter disappointment. I also had an opportunity to talk to the location's manager and he sounded extremely excited that Wake & Late has plans to expand into 4-5 stores across the LA and Santa Monica region. Although I was excited, if this is how they quality control while the manager is there... im worried. Please note, that I have never tried their coffee and cannot speak on that. My friend and I have been trying to find a good bagel location closer to home, and this place may be it. Located down Colorado, parking can be a doozy to find but if you're okay with walking there is street parking a few blocks away if not on one of the closer streets. This is your typical order and sit location with plenty of small tables inside and out. Their bagel menu is limited to 4 flavors (plain, Parmesan, onion, and chocolate) and they tend to run out early. We got there around lunch time and the only bagels left were the onion and chocolate so we got one of each along with their lox cream cheese and their seasonal. Order minimum is two bagels. Our cashier, Crystian, who was wonderful btw, recommended placing an early morning order if you wanted to try the other flavor and/or to buy in bulk (something to think about for next time!). We also ordered their vegetarian breakfast burrito. Burrito - my friend and I shared one and it was a bit small but definitely tasty! The burrito is filled with chilis that added a nice kick and the tater tots stayed crispy. At $13 a burrito, it is a bit pricer and I recommend not to share if you don't plan to get other things off the menu. Would be enough for just one person. Bagels - I have never had a chocolate bagel and was a bit weary that it'd be too sweet. Definitely surprised that it was not! They use valrhona chocolate which added a light sweetness to the semi salty bagel. We coupled this bagel with their seasonal cream cheese which had a nice touch of toffee. As for the onion bagel, definitely different from other onion bagels I have had since the onions are much sweeter (think Maui onion flavor). It looked/tasted like they coat their onion bagel in a layer of sugar/syrup before baking. We paired it with their lox cream cheese which was a bit too savory for this bagel and should have gone with just plain. I suddenly felt as if I were in San Francisco. The menu is not long, which is great because it's pretty easy to make a selection. If the menu is large, I can get pretty indecisive, so this was nice and I chose my breakfast within seconds for a change :-P I opted for the bacon breakfast burrito. They seemed to proactively choose to serve the crema and salsa on this side, which is a great idea. I love both, so I indulged but it was nice to pace my own self on portion for each bite. The red salsa is pretty spicy, which is great but proceed with caution. I've had Wake and Late downtown, it was amazing, this second experience was equally as heavenly. At this location, they were also promoting bagels and cream cheeses. I love bagels, when house made and amazing, I have a high standard for a bagel if I'm going to indulge in carbs. You should know they have a minimum purchase of 2 bagels and two cream cheese spreads. We got 2 plain bagels, a plain cream cheese and a strawberry cream cheese. They were amazing and met my high standards for a bagel AND cream cheese! Highly recommend you try to stuff yourself with both a burrito and bagel & cream cheese if you're coming here for the first time! It's worth it!! Plus the burritos are a good size, not extra large like were used to around here in the US ;-P Once you order, there is no pager or text. They just ask you to check back on their pick up side for your order in a while. Pretty relaxed approach, I didn't mind. The service was really pleasant though. The person taking my order and when I picked up my order someone else helped me, both were really helpful, energetic, upbeat about their product and grateful and engaging. Important things to note - As mentioned, this is walk up service only. They package all orders to-go. There is no indoor seating or table service, the only have (pretty plentiful) seating outdoors, alongside of the building, on Oakland. The burritos are HEAVENLY delicious and full of flavor and perfected with crunch and toasting. My favorite is the bacon and it's appreciated that they preemptively pack the crema and salsa on the side. The bagels are arguably the best around. Fresh. Delicious. Not rubbery (which is the most common issue I find with other bagels). And warm. The cream cheese is house made and very special top quality ingredients. The strawberry was not too sweet and I enjoyed it very much! The orange juice is fresh squeezed, therefore exquisite as well. The service is great, as noted earlier. Ambiance is chill and great. The price, pretty steep, but you get what you pay for! These are carefully curated and put together burritos (see my description above) no cheap ingredients or sneaky little portions of bacon etc due to rising costs. Both the bacon breakfast burrito and the steak breakfast burrito were delicious - and the hot sauce and cilantro creme they give with it is a must. This is not the goat for me, because my #1 breakfast burrito is the elsewhere but they do a great job here - you can taste the high quality ingredients, and you don't feel heavy afterwards. They do have a two bagel minimum which is kind of annoying, but it gave me an excuse to try two flavors! I opted for the parm and plain versions. The parm bagel had a very sharp cheesy taste that I honestly wasn't expecting, but it was the perfect savory item. The bagels are fluffy and salty, perfect for ripping and dipping into any of their spreads. The star of the show is certainly their delightful honeycomb butter, which does come in at a whopping $4 per little plastic container (but I do think it's worth it). My friend got the breakfast burrito which she really enjoyed, but found it to be pretty small for the price. Yes the burrito is small and expensive but it is worth the hype. Every ingredient that goes into it is well seasoned and delicious. The hash browns are crunchy, the peppers give it bursts of acidity. A standout in a town with plenty of excellent breakfast burrito options. I get the vegetarian burrito, my husband gets meat and we're both happy. Service and ambiance are always upbeat. read more

So happy a spot in Pasadena opened up! The inside is pretty grand and clean. Orders come out pretty quickly and there is a seating area to the left of the cash register. The tater tots were so crunchy inside the burrito have the best crunch. My brother-in-law says he sizes up a breakfast burrito based on that so this passed the test. The green sauce was super tasty as well. What I liked most is that you can distinctively taste each ingredient in your bite. My only quarrel is the size to price ratio is a little shock. It's filling for one person (at least for me) but $17+, you'd maybe expect a bit more? What surprised me were their smear bagels! The bagels were so fluffy and the smear was just delicious.
