Be aware that they do not have decaf coffee here. The owner was very friendly, and it's very cute for a small coffee shop. They have a selection of pastries, and it would be a nice place to sit and journal for a few minutes before starting your day. Marco! All the earlier five stars reviews are so true! This man is unique and soooo supernice! Besides all the coffee he also sells sandwiches that you can get cold or warm - just say. Any preference is "no problem" for Marco. There are seating both outside and inside. We had sandwiches with pork which were really good. We had iced coffee but they get watery really quickly. Add milk and raw sugar for best taste. We emptied the 20oz glasses quickly and went for salty caramel latte and chai latte - both iced. Especially the chai was superduper! A hidden gem. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I bought two bags of whole beans to take home and make my own coffee. One was the light roast from Ethiopia. Consistently the finest cup of coffee I've ever had. Just had an expression a few days back and marveled at how smooth and tasty it was. Came back the following day and had another. Again amazing. Obsessed with this place. Everyone's reviews are spot on. Don't let the strip mall fool you it's cute and comfy inside and you don't even feel connected to the other stores. GREAT location on the main road. Oscar was amazing as everyone else noted, he's personable, conversational, accommodating, and shares opinions and suggestions. He was really funny and clearly has relationships with his patrons, seemed like a friend/family reaction with locals that we witnessed. There are bar seats, tables, and even a couch area in the back to chill at! We noticed they host a book club on certain Tuesday's, SO cute and could totally see that happening at that place. The pastries and drinks were phenomenal. Like REALLY GOOD and reasonably priced, especially compared to chains. Feels like coffee with a personal touch. The designs he pulls off in the drinks effortlessly are impressive. Made me feel special. We hung out here for a while and didn't even realize it. We are definitely going back! Ps. Wow! Walked out speechless and in shock of the level of abuse I just encountered. The miserable guy behind the counter was beyond nasty and abusive. I should of walked out with the creepy vibes I was getting from him. There were all local men hanging out in there. That tells you a lot. And the name "Wake Up Marco". We bought several baked goods and a latte. Asked for xtra steamed milk cause I like my latte light. He grumbled some lame excuse barely adding more cause he wanted to give his friend there a flat white who didn't want it. I scooped out foam to make more room & he started arguing with me, verbally abusive and told me he didn't want to waste a cup on me when I told him he could just pour a little milk into a separate cup. Also told me no bathroom cause its takeout yet there were tables everywhere with ppl. The guy was an asshole & I'm being nice. And he looked and smelled dirty like he hadn't showered in months. This place offers "Specialty" coffee which is better than Premium coffee (Starbucks and most other corporate chains), so I'm told. The owner, Oscar is exceptionally knowledgeable in the various processes of coffee regions, farming, harvesting, selection, roasting, grinding, brewing and tasting. He has a wealth of information and is anxious to share his passion. I went with the Sumatran dark roast, but Oscar let me try both the Ethiopian and the Guatamalen just so I could practice proper tasting technique. (Be sure to rinse out your mouth between roasts). I noticed a variety of baked goods such as bagels, muffins and cookies, but all I wanted at the moment was to get my motor to start. They also have a nice espresso machine if you desire high octane. "Wake Up Marco" is set back off the road a bit, with minimum signage, but plenty of parking. There's a nice counter to sit and enjoy your coffee, as well as, a few tables and chairs. The place has a clean, refreshing mom 'n' pop approach stepping well-away from the ultra commercial, excessive consumer consistentency of corporate brands. I highly recommend stepping outside your comfort zone and trying these organic coffees. I can't wait until tomorrow morning so I can "Wake Up" with Oscar! read more
