Being that this place had a lot of 5 star reviews, and everyone was saying that it was the best coffee on the island, I had to check it out during my stay. Oscar is very friendly and a very good conversationalist. His coffee making skills are on par with what everyone says. My husband and I enjoyed a Latte, a Cappuccino, an everything bagel with cream cheese and a Nutella/Nougat Croissant. Everything was really good and fresh. We planned on getting our breakfast to-go but Oscar reeled us in and it took us longer to finish our conversation than to enjoy our goodies; and I mean that in the best way possible. After being on a cruise ship with horrible coffee, my wife and I travelled across Alligator Alley to the gulf coast side of Florida. I'd already yelped "coffee houses" and so we were intentionally headed to Wake Up Marco in hopes of discovering a genuine specialty coffee house. Wake Up Marco is in the upper 2% of all coffee houses I've ever been in. OSCAR the owner and resident entertainer KNOWS coffee. He knows how to make it do what he wants it to do! Not only will he deliver a superior cup of coffee (latte, espresso, cap, americano, pour over, drip, etc.), but he does it with humor, wit and a story. You can tell that he genuinely loves what he does, loves coffee, and enjoys his customers. My wife and I ended up at Wake Up Marco every day we were on Marco Island. We drank his drinks, bought his beans and even bought a piece of coffee brewing equipment. I simply cannot say enough about Oscar and Wake Up Marco.
