I found Wakefield Auto Gallery by looking at reviews. After a HORRIBLE experience with Boch Honda Norwood. I went in with zero trust for car dealers. Brian instantly seemed straightforward and down to earth and I felt more comfortable. I'd been to a few other places before I came here and the dealer would say the car was perfect, then the inspection would determine how that was total bs, so I was ready for that to happen again. But Brian didn't push us. He explained that they take on cars they're familiar with. I was looking for a Mercedes c300, he told me they don't take just any year Mercedes. They buy the ones they know don't have common issues, certain years have more issues. I appreciate that because we read about it, so I believed him. I drove the car. I loved it! We had it inspected at a shop down the street. The place that did the inspection dented the door by moving cars around too close together. But took responsibility and agreed to pay Wakefield Auto back for the damage and what it would cost to fix. Brian was honest with me and told me what happened, he promised to have the door fixed in a day. He did, and you'd never know by looking at it that it was dented before. Anyway, the car passed inspection thank goodness!!! The financial process was smooth. The man that helped us with that explained everything, all the warranties, everything. Right off the bat, they are shady. I wouldn't trust them at all. Their cars are all over priced and they refuse to negotiate the price down doesn't matter if you paying all cash or even if the car has issues that are clearly visible in person. Also Be ready to pay a $500 Doc Fee on top of the full price because the doc fee isn't included in their already high price. Their pictures on line do NOT show the true condition of their cars. So if your really desperate enough to go here then make sure you inspect the vehicle thoroughly. Soon as I got there to look at a vehicle, first thing I noticed was the car exterior was beyond dirty. The car has been on the lot for 2 months and just by looking at it seems like they never washed it and just let it collect pollen and dirt. So I know the majority of the time this happens is when the dealer is trying to hide something on the body of the vehicle. Long story short. The quarter panel was repainted, which I noticed because of the dried build up of running paint. After a closer look, the panel was repainted because it was crashed on that side and the tail light area was starting to rust around the tail light. The lift gate had rust starting to form. Parking sensors didn't work at all, plastics around the front windshield had been glued back on with glue residue on the paint still and one was higher then the other allowing water on a rainy day to get behind it. Also motor had a slight clicking noise that was just loud enough to get my attention. I went back inside and asked if the vehicle had ever been in an accident before and the sales person opened his eyes wide in what I took as surprise that I noticed the hit on the panel. His reply when I asked was "maybe, it could have been". They where over charging on the price and on top of that it had issues which they failed to disclose and to top it off they wanted full price even if it was a cash offer plus $500 on top for Doc Fee. And when I pointed that out to him his reply was we don't budge on the price. I'm all set keep the car. I won't be the idiot they sucker into that deal. And neither should you. read more

This is a long review, but attests to how much of a disaster this experience was. Highly unprofessional from the moment we stepped foot on the lot. We came here specifically because we had found a good deal on the car that I wanted. Before we even got to see the vehicle we were interested in they began bombarding us with what we were able to put down and how much we were willing to spend. After taking the vehicle on a test drive, we came back to discuss our options. While we were working with our sales rep, he took a personal call where he proceeded to say "oh no I'm not busy, just with a customer". Despite the negative experience thus far, we did proceed to purchase the vehicle. We told them we could pick it up a week from that day; the following Saturday. Monday, all insurance and registration was taken care of on our end. Contacted the sales gallery to let them know I could come Friday night to get the car. Friday morning I called to double check that everything was all set with vehicle and would be ready for pick up later on. They said absolutely, see you then. Boston traffic did get me there a little later than expected, but I made sure to call and let them know. This was my first time purchasing a vehicle on my own, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Again, when I arrived, our sales rep was on a personal call. Only this time he didn't hang up, and was so busy on his phone call that he didn't give me the paper work I needed. The car was filthy; bird poop on the Windows, dirt inside on the rugs and on the seats. At this point, I just wanted to get out of there. The following day when my husband had the chance to sit in our new vehicle with me, he pointed out that they never gave me my registration paper work or my inspection sticker/paper work. When calling, the sales rep preceded to blame me because I was late and that is why he didn't have the stickers or paper work for me. He told me he could email me the registration (which he didn't and I needed to call and ask a week later). He told us I could drive the hour there and they'd give it to us or they could reimburse me if I went to get a sticker on my own. A receipt, picture of inspection and 3 weeks later; still no reimbursement. AWFUL, Unprofessional and incompetent. read more

I found this place online because I had seen a vehicle I LOVED! I filled out the online app and called to check if the vehicle was there. No one returned my call or email. I emailed them on Sunday and Matt quickly responded to me and apologized, offering to talk at that moment. We ended up missing each other, but he did call me first thing Monday morning and we made plans to meet up after work. Before I went to see them they pre approved me so I sent in all the paperwork needed via email. I was there at 6:30pm and it was busy. I met with Alex in the Finance Dept. He will give it to you straight (no games)! We went over paperwork and while I was being approved I got to take the car out for a test drive. I was done and out of there by 7:30pm and picking up my car on Friday or sooner depending on the bank. The 5th star is for Alex he was THE BEST at finding me a deal. I personally had a good experience with the test drive and getting all the information we asked for about the 2008 Land Rover we recently purchased. I purchased a car here about a year ago. It's my fault that I paid so much for the car, I will admit. I had the opportunity to walk away when they said no prices on the lot are negotiable. Unfortunately I wanted a specific car so I stretched my budget and over paid for the car I bought. The car I bought had a long list of issues, which is why they also sold me an aftermarket warranty. Within one day of having the car it got a check engine light, so it's obvious the code was cleared and they hoped it wouldn't come back. They ended up putting in a cheap aftermarket catalytic converter for me. When looking at the car they kept showing me how "fair" their price was by showing the kbb value of the car in perfect condition. Needless to say the car was far from perfect. After a month of having the car it started misfiring on all cylinders and they just said "use the warranty". Which didn't cover it. What really upset me wasn't the over priced car. It was when I was sitting down with Alex, he made talking to his "babe" about what was for dinner more important than talking to me. I sat there for about 10 minutes listening to him talk to his wife or girlfriend when I literally needed 2 minutes of his time. It's not hard to tell that the costumers aren't the priority at this dealership. Honestly despite over paying I wasn't all that upset until I had to listen to Alex and his "babe's" dinner plans for about 10 minutes while I just sat there and waited on the other side of the desk. After making about 5 trips to the dealer for warranty work in one year I finally have a car that is worth close to what I paid. I hope this review doesn't speak for every experience because this place does have a lot full of beautiful high end used cars. read more

First, I'd like to say I'm not one of the raving 5 star reviews as they are well connected to the establishment. I've read countless reviews about this place on the net both good and bad . The good are very good and the bad are very bad so this is how I worked through this deal, buying the car I wanted, good and bad. I met the dealer after emails and when I showed up, pleasantly greeted. I took the vehicle for a test drive and other than the smell of perfume (car spray) it drove just fine. I arranged on spot for my car to see my mechanic and the salesman was allowed to accompany me. The inspection went well and the dealer agreed to fix the anomalies. The car was ready the day before expected and during inspection, they did everything they said they were going to do. Here's the rub: They had to detail the interior before I picked up the vehicle and it would take an additional 3 hours, no problem. I picked up the car and although clean, it needed a good wax job which I enjoy doing but.... That night I brought it home and left it in the garage to air out the perfume. The next morning the garage stunk of cigarette smoke. I've been spending the last few days trying to get rid of this intrusion and no doubt, the dealer would have brought back the same kid, hiding the stink packets (that I found) to make it better. Whose fault is this? Mine. I payed too much attention to the mechanics of the car and not to the interior. Bottom line, I'm still happy, with the deal, the way I was treated and all the people I dealt with. I didn't finance and would deal with again...so far. Five stars for this dealership if it wasn't for the cigarette smoke and the trouble I have to endure to eradicate it. read more

Manager just doesn't get it and the sales people will promise you the world only to have the manager come back and say "sorry about that"....read on I went to check out a car that cost about 11k and there were a few dings on the outside of the car. As part of the negotiation I asked to have those dings fixed at no additional cost. I was told yes right away for 2 out of the 3 dings. I then got the OK on the last ding and that was in an email with Josh. I even replied back saying "to be clear, this price includes those 3 items being taken care of at no cost, correct? I just want to be clear because if that is the case i will move forward with my credit application". Sure enough Josh, their sales person, replied saying no problem at all. I filled out the credit app and the next step was to to have the car dealership send the sale and purchase agreement....BUT The manager called me the next morning at 10am AFTER I've already filled out a credit app for a certain price and says "sorry but those items cant be fixed at no cost". ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! (Keep in mind that this was after they had me fill out the credit app) Auto dealerships get a bad reputation because of places like this! Don't waste your time. read more

I go to trade in my wife's car in they said because of the condition that it's in they are going to have to send it to auction in they only can give me a couple hundred dollars so I at least talk them up to give me 1000 for it and then when I checked their website a week later the car is up there for $5900 and it says that the car is in immaculate condition when I know that the engine has a fuel issue with it. So now I am concerned about the vehicle that I bought because it's running fine right now but I don't know if it's going to last like that. read more

LAZY CROOKS. This place is an absolute joke I wouldn't recommend them on anyone. They keep promising pick up days for your car and never meet them. Over a week since I actually purchased the car and I'm picking up today after they knew I urgently needed the car and he agreed for me to pick up in 2 days. I had to do their job and keep calling the bank to get updates on what is going on. They purposely ignore the phone calls that are ringing, I have to call 8 times in a row to get an answer? JD (salesperson) is BEYOND lazy and doesn't want to do his job (he is the only salesperson). Alex who seems to run everything is a crook trying to do anything to save a sale. The owner refused to comp $300 for this extreme delay, which means he is a crook as well because my car was overpriced and they refused to lower their listed price. Meanwhile none of them are checking on the status with the bank nor RMV, I AM. NEVER IN MY LIFE SEEN A CAR DEALER TAKE THIS LONG TO RELEASE A CAR. and I better not start experiencing issues with the car because better business bureau will be reported to. I met him and he seemed like a really nice person who could help me find what I wanted...Ummm no. When it came to the point where he wasn't really having luck in finding my car within the price range we discussed..He literally STOPPED answering my phone calls and returning my messages...Very VERY POOR communication skills..It was a few weeks that went by that he never returned my phone call and I had to visit the place to see/speak to him..And even then he was not apologetic at all. My husband and I purchased a minivan here a couple weeks ago. We found their dealership online and called about half an hour before we came to check the availability of a vehicle. Despite it being a small dealership and an incredibly busy day, Alex and Matty were really accommodating and when we arrived even had a second vehicle pulled up for us that matched what we were looking for...in the end we ended up going with that second one. Matty was helpful with the test drive, and Alex helped us through all of the paperwork and financing, explaining each component so we understood well all the expenses and each part of the process very clearly. The only snag we hit was that since it was Saturday, our insurance company was closed and we couldn't get that set up (and therefore weren't able to drive it off the lot that day), but Matty helped us finalize that through the next week, and we picked up the van quickly the following weekend.
