Located in the Venetian/Palazzo, the place has amazing decor from the entrance to the 2 Sumo wrestlers in the middle of the restaurant! Lots of candlelit dining tables as well as a sushi bar. Started off each with a glass of Pinot Noir and it was very smooth and tasty! Ordered the following dishes: Miso soup (fresh nori, negi, tofu) Kanpachi Carpaccio Chutoro butter miso nigiri Crispy Tuna Rice Aburi Salmon Golden Gai Roll Tempura Corn Crunch Maki Toro Taku Dessert: The Coffee Bean Americano Every dish was delicious! The fish were served fresh at room temperature as it should be. The standouts for us were the miso soup, tempura corn crunch maki and toro taku. Overall there were some very tasty items and their finale with the dessert was amazing for the kids. However... Beef skewers were over cooked. Filet's were excellent. The lobster service was delicious but I was told it was a whole lobster. I share it with my nephew who GMs an upscale restaurant in Connecticut and he laughed. It tasted great but please don't tell me that was a whole lobster from a guy who lobstered as a kid. I was surprised that our main courses came out at different times too. This was the last spot for my bday in Vegas of 2024! We both chose the yuzu margarita, but as a mocktail for me. It was delicious and refreshing! The decor is dark, trendy, and has pretty lanterns and a tree! We shared the kanpachi carpaccio, nori taco, marinated cucumbers, and wagyu flambe! Everything was so beautifully presented. Our server, Coco, took the time to outline the menu and some of her favorites. Juan, the manager, stopped by and introduced himself which added to the fine dining experience. We've met Andy, the other restaurant manager before and although he was traveling, still sent over his best wishes to us. Initially, we weren't entirely happy with our assigned seating. However, we had the absolute pleasure of running into GT, a higher-level manager who isn't always on-site. He noticed our dissatisfaction and immediately went above and beyond, letting us handpick any table we preferred. On top of that, knowing it was my husband's birthday, GT personally brought over complimentary champagne to celebrate with us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that instantly elevated our evening. Made reservations here for my daughters 21st birthday dinner on May 26th. Had to put down a $100 per person reservation fee fyi. The hostess asked if we wanted group pictures taken in front of their neon wall and she took so many good ones. We had a table in the middle of the restaurant with the 2 Sumo wrestlers and cherry blossom trees as our backdrop. We ordered a lot of things to share and EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! Here is what we ordered: miso soup, edamame, King Crab tempura, Smoked Wagyu fried rice (the server who delivered this sliced the over easy egg on top in front of us), Salmon sashimi, Dry Aged Cowboy (medium rare was cooked to perfection!) and Tobanyaki Scallops. The scallops come in an order of 4 but the waiter asked if we wanted to add another so we all got one. The scallop was the best I ever had. It was served in a bed of delicious mushrooms and some type of green vegetable with sauce and if I was home I would have licked the plate clean! We enjoyed various drinks. The boys had bottled beers and I tried the lychee martini (I wish I ordered another) and some type of spicy/sweet margarita. My birthday girl ordered some type of orange creamsicle drink then ordered another she liked it so much. For dessert we ordered the mochi ice cream and the Okinawa donuts with matcha cream filling, raspberry coulis served with salted caramel ice cream served on cookie butter crumble. Our waiter, Happy, hooked us up on the desserts for our birthday celebration AND also brought us the Kakigori with candy floss. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the spicy tuna crispy rice for an appetizer, the crispy salmon skin roll for dinner, and the coffee bean dessert. I had the ode to senpai cocktail which was really well balanced. I sat at the sushi bar and was able to watch the chefs work, which was incredibly special. They checked in on me, and the wait staff was also super kind. I had made a reservation, and so each staff member used my name when talking to me. When I was waiting to be seated, the host asked if I wanted her to take my photo by the neon wall, which was super nice of her since I was alone. Dined here last week with my husband on our last trip to Vegas as a childless couple and it did not disappoint. We had been there a couple times prior to this visit but our most current dining experience was the most memorable by far. We arrived at the restaurant nearly 20 minutes prior to our reservation because we were super hungry and excited for another dining experience at Wakuda and the hostess graciously seated us. Our server, Victor, was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He also made some great suggestions with the mocktails which added to our incredible experience. We enjoyed a variety of different dishes but our favorites were the grilled foie gras, the hidden treasure roll, lamb chops, tuna tartare + uni, wagyu/king crab nori tacos, foie gras sushi and the kakigori. We had originally made reservations elsewhere but changed it a few days prior to arriving in Vegas after seeing photos of the place. The entrance looked pretty cool. Excellent experience, dark, frankly sexy ambiance, which is a good reprieve from the bright lights dazzle of the strip! There's certainly a cool factor to Wakuda and as a heads up experiences here are bifurcated in that you can do the omakase with Wakuda-san himself or work with any of the other highly competent and skilled chefs at the sushi bar, etc. Wakuda-san was not in when I stopped by, but my sushi-chef was a great guy - heads up, not traditional Japanese, but the ingredients are excellent, the knife skills on point, and it was fun to have a break from the more traditional locations with which Las Vegas also abounds. They'll add more accoutrements to your neta - maybe some caviar on the fish, pickled wasabi, etc. They do use freshly grated wasabi too which is almost table stakes at this point at Japanese fine-dining establishments. I found everyone very personable and the salad was good too. Wakuda sits in the Zama-Morimoto-Nobu side of the omakase experience but allows for more flexibility which I like, i.e., if you want one bite of nigiri at a time à la edomae style they'll do that too with aplomb.
