My partner and I spent Christmas at this new Waldorf property and we were blown away. No detail was spared. We spent five incredible days, never left the resort, and never felt the need to. I have to say that I am not an early riser when on vacation, but the breakfast offered at Chaya was worth waking up early every morning. The chilaquiles were probably my favorite... I may or may not have ordered it 3 of the 5 days we were there. :) The other two restaurants on the property, Malpeque and Ja'o were also to die for. Ja'o is a more "relaxed" interior Mexican food. It was a great place for late dinner or watching Premier League or NFL at the bar. Malpeque I would call the fine dining restaurant of the property. We only dined here on Christmas Eve... it was truly amazing. I loved the lobster! Now, I must note that it rained pretty much the ENTIRE time we were in Cancun...just our luck, huh? We almost didn't even care though because we had so much fun getting to know the staff. You can tell that André and the management have forged a positive, even familial, environment. Armando, Mario, and Hilma at Peacock Alley made the best drinks, had the best stories, and had the kindest demeanor. Our personal concierge, Johnny Bravo was the absolute best too. At the outdoor bar, Isabelle was the sweetest. They had a lot of fun activities going on during the week like mezcal and tequila tastings, and margarita making classes. Definitely check those out if you can! As far as the property goes, it's stunning, even in the rain. There were two main pools and four hot tubs (which we used despite the rain). The outdoor bar was really fun. There were beautiful cabanas up for purchase, which was nice when the sun was out that first day we were there. The rooms and common areas are decorated so beautifully. I honestly can't say enough positive things about this WA - it truly is the jewel of Cancun!

TL;DR stay at this hotel if you're looking to be treated like royalty and want to enjoy a daily culinary fiesta including some of the most unique margarita flavors you'll ever find. Skip the tub on the balcony and brace yourself during the ride at the entrance of the road to the property. Would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return! Words can't describe how truly spectacular our experience was here! We were greeted with a cold towel and delicious welcome drink of our choice when we arrived that instantly let us know we were in for a luxurious relaxing vacation. We stayed for four nights to celebrate my birthday and the Waldorf went above and beyond to deliver me a dessert and bottle of Prosecco to our room to celebrate. This was such a nice personal touch that helped make my day unforgettable. The entire property was absolutely stunning with high end architectural details constantly catching my eye. The layout of the room was absolutely perfect with a magnificent ocean view for watching the sunrise each day. The shower was spacious and opened up to the balcony that made it feel as though it were an outdoor shower with the most picturesque view. The pool area was landscaped impeccably with lush tropical vegetation and ample lounge chairs/day beds. All of the restaurants had incredible food. Everything tasted fresh and they were able to accommodate my wife's gluten allergy well. They even brought her gluten free pastries at breakfast and bread at dinner. Breakfast with diamond status was absolutely decadent offering fresh pressed juices and fruit to accompany the entrees. The stand outs for me were the watermelon salad and the chilaquiles. As for lunch/dinner, the lobster talyuda and pork belly tacos at Jao were a couple of my favorites. The mango gazpacho at Chaya was unique and delicious! The hotel offered a bevy of activities to partake in daily that meant there was always something to do. We had the pleasure of attending the margarita making class and sunrise yoga. The margarita class was a 12/10! We learned how to make a classic margarita and a hibiscus mezcalrita. There was even some cheeky tequila passion fruit shooters too. The sunrise yoga was tranquil and welcoming. There was also live music in the peacock lounge and a DJ at the pool on a regular basis that made the whole hotel feel vibrant and lively. Although there are so many wonderful aspects about this property, there are some areas that could use improving. The entrance to the road that takes you to the hotel has large cobblestones that require vehicles to crawl at a snail's pace as everyone on board is jostled in every direction. Once you make it past that obstacle, it's about another 10 minutes traversing what felt like 20+ speed bumps. Although I appreciate the design intent, it was a decently uncomfortable welcome and made us dread having to traverse them to leave or come back to the property. Not sure how you fix that without extensive road work, but it would be awesome if they were able to address it. When we turned on the faucet to fill the outdoor tub a large clump of hair came out of the drain as if it were not cleaned for a while. This totally killed the vibe. Hopefully, they can step up the cleaning of the tubs as everything else seemed spotless. Service at the restaurants, especially breakfast at Chaya, was a bit hit or miss. It seemed like they could have used one or two more people working to help tend to all of the tables as it seemed to be the busiest restaurant/ time of day. What really made our stay memorable at the Waldorf was the friendly, attentive, hard working staff. Every person we encountered was warm and eager to assist with anything at all. Special shout out to Armando and Mario at the Peacock lounge. They took excellent care of us and even let me shake my own espresso martini behind the bar! Definitely something I'll never forget. All of the staff at the pool were excellent wasting no time setting us up at beach chairs and making sure we had shade or whatever else we needed. Juan Carlos was especially attentive and created a memorable experience on the last day of our stay. On top of all of that there were staff members that would walk around offering to clean your sun glasses, spray you with a refreshing mist, give you frozen aloe vera to cool you down, and give out complimentary margaritas! They even had staff that cleaned the seaweed off the beach and combed the sand of large rocks daily. Speaking of margaritas, the beverage program at the Waldorf was top notch. Without hesitation, they were able to whip up any type of margarita I could dream up. My favorite was the spicy passion fruit. The mint flavored one was like a cross between a mojito and a margarita which was absolute fire! All in all I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon!

The overall dining experience, food quality was average at best. The buffet did somewhat disappoint. There is no night life, bars and the resort was over run with young kids. The 7 whirlpools overlooking the beach were awesome, but they are in 100% sun.

We stayed on the first floor and had our own mini pool right outside the room, which was super convenient since all the entertainment, activities, and amenities were nearby. The resort had a fun atmosphere with live entertainment every night. We watched traditional Mexican dancers at the outdoor amphitheater, did archery, and even went to a glow-in-the-dark party. Even though my trip was only 2 1/2 days, it ended up being such a fun and memorable quick getaway that I'd definitely come back again. The service was great from the room service staff to the entertainment team. The lobby is beautiful, and the food was honestly delicious. The buffet had so many options like breakfast burritos, made-to-order omelets, hash browns, churros, sweet plantains, plus a smoothie and juice bar. The cocktails were also really good and surprisingly didn't leave me with a hangover. I really also enjoyed the sushi restaurant Sunan( the sushi chicken bites and the ribs were delicious). The La Luce Italian restaurant had a great octopus carpaccio. Those who don't eat octopus really enjoy the thinly slice appetizer and the veggie lasagna was to die for you did not need any meat. The hotel is about 16-17 minutes from the airport, though it takes around 10 minutes just to drive from the entrance to the main hotel area. We rented a car, which was cheaper overall, but keep in mind there are a lot of checkpoints around Cancun.

The spa was fantastic, offering step-by-step guidance through the dry sauna, steam room, and both warm and cool pools-such a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The hotel sits right on the beach with breathtaking views and features several pools, including one with a fun swim-up bar. Dining options were excellent, with several restaurants to choose from, including Mediterranean, Mexican, buffet, Asian, sushi, steakhouse, and American cuisine. Our room was fantastic, with a rainfall shower, comfortable beds, prompt housekeeping, 24-hour room service, and turn-down service. We also enjoyed live entertainment and a night club on the property, yet it remained wonderfully quiet when we wanted to relax. We loved the aromatherapy --it was such a thoughtful touch. The location is very convenient: close to a pharmacy, just across the street from a shopping mall with a mix of upscale and casual dining and shops, and only 10-15 minutes from Cancun's vibrant club zone. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We checked in on a Sunday around 4:30, and the room was already cleaned up and ready. We stayed in one of the terrace rooms on the fourth floor, and the room was well maintained the whole trip. Housekeeping was really good, and the lady who seemed to consistently clean our room was super friendly. They also do evening turndown service between about 6 and 9, which I liked more than I thought I would. The food was hit or miss. Sea Corner was easily the biggest disappointment. You really have to like ceviche to enjoy that spot. I tried the battered fish taco, which was a really small rolled fried fish taco and honestly tasted kind of stale. The red snapper tostada was okay, but still pretty subpar. Overall, Sea Corner is one I would skip. Ciete's breakfast buffet was decent, but still very buffet. Some of the food had that stale, been-sitting-out-too-long taste, but the omelet bar and fresh juice/smoothie bar helped a lot. They have two omelet bars, which spreads people out, and Marco at the smoothie bar was awesome. He remembered me after my first smoothie and was friendly the rest of the trip. Azure was pretty good. We split hummus and pita, and I got the chicken in red wine. The chicken was cooked perfectly and came on a bed of mashed potatoes that were really good. Dessert was just okay. The baklava was very cinnamon-heavy and almost tasted like a churro. MB was good and definitely felt like their "dress up" restaurant. I had the stuffed chicken, my girlfriend had the veal cheek, and we also tried the filet mignon. The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the meal overall was good. Not amazing, but one of the better dinners there. Hidden Garden was probably our favorite restaurant. We went there twice because it was that good compared to the other options. The samosas, gyoza, chicken satay, shrimp fried rice, and desserts were all really good. The Thao, basically their version of orange chicken, was also really good. The pad Thai was okay, but sweeter than I prefer. Their signature cocktails were also really good. The Thursday night show was a nice part of the trip. They had a buffet by the pool, with a mariachi band from 7 to 8 and traditional Mexican dancing from 8 to 9. The dancing was almost like a theater-style show, and that part was great. The buffet was on par or slightly below par. They had a crepe bar, a grill with pretty good steak and chicken, and a couple decent soups, but a lot of it still had that left-out-too-long, slightly stale buffet taste. The entertainment and activities were a big highlight. Trivia every night was great, and karaoke was a blast once people started getting into it. Pablo hosted trivia and karaoke with Jorge as the DJ, and Pablo brought a lot of energy. Jorge also DJs at Egos later at night, and they played a good mix of American dance music and Latin dance music. During the day, we tried archery, water aerobics, bingo, the guacamole class, casino night, and a self-facial class. Archery was a blast, and aqua aerobics in the infinity pool was really fun. Ricky was a ball of energy, and Jocelyn was really cool too. The activities did not feel like boring resort filler, which was a nice surprise. A few things could be better. Pool towel service closes at 6, even though people are still in the pool later. There is also basically no shade in most of the pools, so you get crispy pretty fast. They also need to be clearer about which pool beds are first-come, first-serve and which ones are paid or for Club Aqua. I saw multiple people get moved because it was not explained well. Communication could be better too. Some restaurants are closed on certain days, probably because the resort was around 50% capacity, but they should give you a schedule at check-in. We planned to try Verana, their Italian restaurant, and then found out it was closed that day. The humidity is something to think about. Obviously it is Cancun, but the indoor areas and hallways do not have much air circulation. Our fourth-floor hallway also had a broken water feature with sitting water, and I think that made the hallway smell more humid and musky than the rest of the resort. The drinks were decent, but I would not go in expecting strong resort cocktails. I drank margaritas and pina coladas most of the trip and never really felt much from them. For stronger drinks, shots are probably the better route. Overall, Live Aqua Cancun was a really nice, relaxing trip. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the activities were way more fun than expected, and Hidden Garden was a nice surprise. The food is not amazing across the board, the pool setup could be better, and communication could use work, but I still had a really good time. Good resort, not perfect, but definitely worth checking out.

I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. It's the best experience I've ever had at an all…read moreinclusive hotel. At the end of my stay, I did not want to leave. Sometimes all inclusive hotels can feel gimmicky, like being on a cruise ship or something. This was not that at all. This was a high end experience from start to finish. The hotel service and facilities are impeccable. I was blown away by the care they take to tend to each guest. I was only there for a few days and people took the effort to learn my name and my personal preferences. To start, the room was incredible. I stayed in a suite and it had a juccuzi right inside the room and an ocean view with a hammock. The room also came with a mini bar which was restocked daily (although you could also call and request anything at any time). Every day they had a different schedule of activities for guests with quality entertainment (not tacky acts). They had all all white party with a circus one day which was fun, a foam party, bull riding and more. The food deserves its own review. It exceed my expectations by a lot. They had several food options to choose from, including an Asian restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant, a mexican restaurant a cafe and a global buffet. The restaurants were all open extended hours until 10 or 10:30 so there were always food options available. The global buffet did different themed dinners every night. Of the restaurants, I liked all but I'd say the Mediterranean was the most high quality. The preparation and taste was on par with any top NYC restaurant. The octopus dish was especially memorable. Second favorite was probably the Mexican restaurant. They have a chef from Oaxaca who makes a great mole. At each restaurant, the managers always made an effort to stop by my table to make sure I had what I needed. The employees genuinely care about serving you and they do it gladly. Sometimes you go to places where the employees are disgruntled or have a bad attitude. Not the case here at all. Everyone seemed generally happy and in a good mood. It felt like most of the people here were celebrating something, whether a bachelorette party or birthday, but it didn't feel overall raucous or anything. They had a silent disco one night and I think that also helped with any potential late night noise issues. I was really impressed with how well curated the schedule of activities was. Additionally, the hotel was very clean. When I first got in, people were mopping. They're constantly changing pool towels that are left out. Everything was spotless. The sheets were crisp and white. My room was changed to my liking. No complaints. One of the better places I've stayed. I would definitely come back in a heart beat. I loved it here!

This was not my first visit to Hyatt Zilara Cancun and it was actually my amazing experience here in 2019 that started my loyalty to Hyatt. I am currently a World of Hyatt Discoverist member, and after my first visit to Zilara, we loved the Hyatt experience so much that we chose Hyatt Ziva for our vow renewal in 2022. Because of that, returning to Zilara was something I had looked forward to for years. First, the staff at this resort deserves so much recognition. My concerns are not a reflection of the employees because the service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. From before we even arrived to our final day, everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wanted guests to have a great experience. Before our trip, Eddie reached out as our concierge and was extremely helpful in making sure we were prepared for our stay. He helped coordinate our spa services ahead of time and assisted us with securing a late checkout, which made our trip much smoother and more relaxing. At check-in, Luis helped us on the World of Hyatt side and was wonderful. He explained the changes and additions to the resort, helped us understand reservations, and made sure we had the information we needed. Throughout the resort, the service remained consistent. Even when I had a meal I didn't enjoy, a staff member at the teppanyaki restaurant was genuinely concerned, offered alternatives, and wanted to make it right. That level of care stood out. Our room was excellent. We stayed on the fifth floor in a corner room and it was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was fantastic, and I loved the pillows so much I am actually trying to find out what kind they are so I can buy them for home. The bathroom was great, especially the mirror with multiple lighting options. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water, which I always appreciate. The only thing I personally missed was having a bathtub, but overall I had no complaints about the room. The resort itself is beautiful and extremely clean. The pool area is relaxing with comfortable chairs, and it was never difficult to find a place to sit. The atmosphere is definitely more quiet and relaxing rather than a party environment, which can be a positive depending on the type of trip you want. The beach was well maintained, especially considering the seaweed situation during our visit. The staff worked hard to keep it cleaned up, and the things outside of the resort's control, like weather and ocean conditions, did not impact my opinion. The spa was absolutely phenomenal and I wrote a separate review specifically for that experience because it deserves its own recognition. The gym was also impressive for a resort gym. There was plenty of equipment, treadmills, a stretching/yoga space, and even a Pilates studio. I was hoping to participate in Pilates, but the class filled up quickly. I thought the fitness offerings were a nice addition. Where this stay fell short for me was the food. At an all-inclusive resort, the food experience is such a huge part of the overall value because you are eating every meal on property. When we visited in 2019, one of our favorite memories was eating at Pelicanos by the pool, so we were excited to return there first. We knew things had changed since our last visit, but unfortunately the quality and options did not feel the same. We tried several restaurants, and while the service was always great, the food itself was disappointing. The Italian restaurant felt very bland overall, although the bread service and tiramisu were enjoyable. The cacio e pepe and pasta dishes did not meet expectations. The teppanyaki experience also was not what I expected. I was hoping for more of a traditional hibachi-style experience, and the meat quality was disappointing. The buffet was fine, especially breakfast, but nothing really stood out. Room service was quick and the staff was friendly, but again the food itself was not something we loved. My favorite treat on property ended up being the ice cream at the coffee shop. The biggest thing I missed was having easy poolside food options. When I'm at an all-inclusive, I love being able to relax by the pool and grab things like quesadillas, ceviche, or small bites without stopping the pool day. The lack of that type of experience was probably my biggest disappointment. Drinks and pool service were great, and the staff did a wonderful job checking on guests. I personally don't drink alcohol, but it was clear they were attentive with beverages. Entertainment was limited compared to some other all-inclusive resorts. There were some activities and a few performances, but not the larger

The staff was very friendly and tried to help with our request. The room was a junior suite with an ocean view. It was comfortable and our room attendant did a great job. The king bed was two beds pushed together, but with some magic by the wife we made it more like one and were very comfortable. You can get a single king bed in some of the rooms. We were there with friends and didn't want be separated so we stayed with that configuration. I would try and get a room on the west wing. It actually looks to the east and you don't get the extreme heat in the late afternoon that the east wing does. We ate at all of the restaurants and our favs were the Black and White Steak house and Krystal. The Italian restaurant off of the lobby was good for a quick slice of pizza at lunch time. The buffet is like it is on a cruise ship and was good for most of our breakfast seatings. After a few days gets a little old. The staff was super friendly and hard workers. One small pool stay open until 8:00. Way too early for an adult only. I suggest if you want to do excursions to go straight across the street to one of the stands. If you know what you want to do they are a much better deal, but be certain you know where you want to go. make sure and get transportation included in your excursion. Also in that area there is the Bamboo Spa. You can get a massage for less than half at the resort spa. They did a very good job and were very professional. Not a "happy endings" type of place. Tell them you will do the massage if they throw in the fish foot treatment. Sounds weird but it was pretty nice. This is all inclusive for food and drink. The drinks are pretty light and when you ask for something other than the house liquor I'm pretty sure it didn't happen all the time. The best is to ask for the drink with a shot on the side, or better yet go to the bar yourself and watch them make the drink. It was definitely better and i was assured to get the name brand. Over all I would recommend this RIU.

The overall location is fantastic, and the views are absolutely stunning. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the restaurant situation. Most of the good restaurants require reservations, and they fill up quickly, so you don't always get the chance to use them. Other than that, it's a wonderful experience!

Grand Oasis Cancun was the worst all-inclusive resort experience we've ever had…read more We booked this resort for our sons' senior graduation trip based on advertising that promoted it as a fun, energetic party resort. The reality was the exact opposite. Check-in took over an hour because staff claimed they couldn't find our Expedia reservation. Another person in our group had already paid for services through the resort's website but was repeatedly asked for additional payment. Our group spent an extra $1,000 on upgrades hoping to improve the experience. It didn't. The rooms were small, outdated, dirty, and not worth the extra cost. The food was terrible. We expected mixed quality based on reviews, but much of it was barely edible. Making dinner reservations felt intentionally difficult, and once we finally secured them, we were forced to sign agreements acknowledging additional fees if we were late. The biggest disappointment was the complete lack of atmosphere. There was very little music, almost no nightlife, and most activities shut down before 11 PM. We ended up leaving the resort almost every night so the boys could find entertainment elsewhere. What frustrates me most is how misleading the marketing is compared to the actual experience. After more than 15 years of booking travel through Expedia, I'm genuinely disappointed that Expedia continues to partner with and promote a resort that feels built around false advertising, upselling, and disappointing guests. We trusted the Expedia brand, and this resort fell far short of the experience it promised. Save your money and book somewhere else.

My husband and I visited ERC for his 30th birthday, and it exceeded all expectations. This was the most beautiful and relaxing place we have ever been. We got the swim up suite room, and loved it. The resort was so clean and well maintained, the rooms were wonderful, the food was the best we have ever had, the shows/activities at night were so fun, the drinks were delicious, the app was great at navigating the resort, and the pool is kept at the best temperature. The staff was truly the pinnacle of excellence. They made our experience so incredible and much better. Thank you so much Mario for making my husbands birthday so memorable. My only recommendations for guests, is that some of the restaurants have a dress code (my husband hates pants, so we had to buy him a pair at the gift shop), bring sunscreen/sunglasses/wide brim hat/after sun care, and if you get eaten to death my mosquitos bring bug spray. My husband didnt get bit at all, and i got bitten over 40 times. We cant wait to come back!

All of the restaurants are great, my favorites were Basmati and Spice. The only room for improvement: I wish there were healthier options available by the pools do lunch. The taco truck is great but doesn't open until 4pm.. a little late for lunch. I don't want fries/hotdog/burger/nachos for lunch. The Linux buffet was great, but it would've been nice to have a salad or tacos by the pool. Loved the shows and trivia every night! Can't wait to go back.
