I stopped by to pick up some chocolate for Teacher Appreciation Week and was happy to find that Walgreens had some great deals. The store was clean, though the experience at the register was a bit indifferent. The cashier didn't greet me; she simply scanned my items and told me the total. Regardless, I was happy with the selection and the prices for the chocolate. This review is for a great store experience I had here on 6/16/2025. An employee named Amanda was so helpful, kind, empathetic and caring. Not many people are nice these days. I have very bad crippling anxiety and made a purchase online. I called the store because my disability makes it hard for me to go inside stores without having a panic attack. She got my online order ready immediately and to make things even better, she brought it right out to the car for me!! Her smile meant the world to me and my anxiety levels went way down. We need more people in the world like Amanda. She deserves so much praise for a job well done. read more

Zero star: This location now has a new Bengali-looking man as a cashier who does not know how to greet customers, and neither does he respond to greetings, but rather FROWNS at you and looks confrontational for no reason... - thank him before you leave and not an utterance, absolutely nothing! This had been my go-to pharmacy since the Duane Reade days but not after this classlessness. Walgreens, as our neighborhood pharmacy please clean your act - go back to being "neighborly" - the self-checkout at CVS is only a minute away! read more

If I could give this zero stars I would! Don't mind the store at all-but the pharmacy is awful. First call about medication I picked up they hung up on me so I had to call again. Then when I finally got on with another person and asked a question about my medication, he responded rudely and made me feel dumb for asking that question. 0/10 professional skills- definitely not picking up anymore medications here anymore read more

Pharmacy / Stuff Walgreen's, like the competition has a large selection of goods for the home as well as a pharmacy and food department. This place is large and busy but with lots of stuff - so finding things can take a few minutes. Checkout was extremely slow- but they all seem to be at every Walgreen's I've been to. Unfortunately I have to give them one star although I'd like to give them -10. Worst pharmacy ever, a bunch of incompetents. They are pharmacists and pharmacy techs that can't get a job anywhere else so Hicksville Walgreens hired them. There's always a problem or an issue with something. Even something as easy filling an antibiotic for strep throat. Ridiculous, slow, inefficient, rookies, torpid, unknowledgeable. Those are their positive adjectives. Every single time I go there, some kind of issue arises. Every prescription that I bring in, there is a problem filling, CVS or Rite Aid wind up filling the exact same script immediately the same day. Bethpage and East Meadow Walgreens never have so many problems like this Hicksville store does. Do yourself a favor and do not fill anything here EVER!! read more

As the store is supposed to open at 6 am as posted on the door and this morning when I got there at 6:20 am the store was still closed and an employee was standing outside unable to get in. As a loyal customer it is was very upsetting that the store wasn't open for business. As a local pharmacy I feel that it is of utmost importance to open on time. Some medications are to be taken on a timely basis and being unable to get them is frightening. The other concern that I have is that an employee was standing outside since 6 am and it was 34 degrees this morning. She informed me that she was waiting for another employee and she wasn't allowed to open the store alone. Perhaps the store needs to reevaluate their process on opening for the convenience of the customer and the well being of the staff. read more

I have to give it a1 because there's no 0. They don't deserve even that, they ( in the pharmacy) are uneducated, ignorant, rude, and they obviously don't want business! Maricel in the pharmacy refused to fill my prescription quoting that the 1st day I pick up counts as 2 days, I had the same problem before, but the manager Nathan came in and fixed it right away, but this time Maricel was extatic to tell me HE was on vacation for 2 weeks, and that that's the way they do things at that walgreens and if I didn't like it to take my business somewhere else! This place took my prescription right after I got out of urgent care across the street, filled it within 20 minutes, and sent me on my merry way. I usually use Target pharmacy but Walgreen's quickness has won me over. read more

You can't get the pharmacy to answer their phone ‍‍ I went there a few weeks ago to pick up a prescription after getting a text it was ready. I get there and it's not, so the lady apologizes and tells me to wait 20 mins. I walk around the store and come back only for her to tell me she FORGOT. It wasn't even busy!! This is now my new local 24 hour walgreen's. I have no problem with the pharmacy department; they seem reasonably well-staffed and patient. The regular shop side, however, seems to be consistently short staffed, and it's not uncommon to wait on line for over 10 minutes, just to get out of there. read more

All WG's are not created equal! While you might walk in here and get the same exact feeling you've gotten in every other Walgreens (prepare to waste cash on new flavored dental floss), you would be wrong. Why? They have a bunch of people working in the rx department. You walk in and give your rx to a guy, 10 min later it's ready. Done deal. And not the "we'll have this done in 15 and never call your name out" bull, they'll hunt you down and get you out. I like being hunted down when picking up my _______. Pharmacy is understaffed, as per usual for corporate pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS who are only interested in maximizing profit by any means. Waited 2 hours for a prescription, only to be told they didn't have it in stock and that I'd need to wait even more for them to order it. Unbelievable. read more

My complaint is about the hicksville ny pharmacy , including the manager who was the one I had a problem with. I've had problems before with the employees here in the pharmacy and that's why My daughter goes to a nearby CVS, I didn't want to deal with changing pharmacies but this changed my mind for sure. This was the icing on the cake, the last straw. I've had it with walgreens in Hicksville. . A perscription was called in early in the morning. I asked for it to be refilled by the afternoon knowing that I wasn't going to pick it up until night time because hicksville does this all the time. So when I got there approx 9 p.m., I asked for my script, I was told it had to be put through again. I said it was ordered this morning, why are you waiting until now to put it through. My response was, I just have to put it Through again. she puts it through, then tells me there's a problem with the insurance. ( I want you to understand, all this is fine, I understand that they are problems putting scripts through. I definitely think she shouldn't have waited for me to get there to find out what the problem is, and she should have called me. ) My complaint is mainly about the fact that she gave up on me, left me standing there because she didn't know what else to do. A customer came and she tended to him. .. fine, another customer came and she tended to him...fine, but then another and another and another. .... 7 Infact until I said something. I then asked if she was going to put it through and was told, in a min.. another customer. Asked again. ..ms., can you put my script through? Was told, I will, im only 1 person and I have customers. I said.. I am your customer. .. I've been your customer before all the 7 customers you just took care of.....no response, she just took another customer and ignored me. Finally. .. I told her to forget it, take me script out of there. She said ok.... I again reminded her to take out the script, I'm going someplace else and I better not have a problem. The real reason you go to a Drugstore is to get a prescription. The Pharmacy is very short on staff and the company knows it. I have talked to staff members and to the manager and regional manager and it all comes down to cutting numbers of workers. You can wait 20 minutes are more to get to the counter. The staff can't fill the prescriptions and man the window and the drive up at the same time. I have complained to corporate it falls on deaf ears. Time to try another Drugstore this one is done for me! read more
