ZERO STARS. The pharmacists are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. It was 11pm and I took 2 medications that had major interactions and before I went to the ER I wanted to see exactly what the interactions were because why risk the time and medical debt if it's just major drowsiness. Well it probably would have been faster to just go to the ER on a Saturday night in Houston because I was on hold for almost 2 hours. These so called professional health care workers are a complete joke. I highly doubt the pharmacy was that busy at 11pm for me to be waiting that long for information that takes less than a minute to figure out. When I finally did get ahold of them after 20 minutes I was asked for my information and was put on hold for the next hour with multiple hang ups in between to where I had to call back. During this time I was actually able to get ahold of another pharmacist at a different location but was just curious as to how this would end so I stayed on the line. I was once again put on hold by a male pharmacist this time but to my surprise he actually returned to the call and gave me the opposite information of what the other pharmacist told me. So I was left with information that the side effects would either be lessened or worsened. Best part of the phone call? Even though I was very patient and nice when I shouldn't have been, I was hung up on after all of this. Rude and unprofessional staff. Pharmacy....get your shit together. read more

This Walgreens literally never has my prescriptions in stock. I've had to go without my medications for days and days before they finally got my medications in, and this happens upwards of 2-3 times a month with different medications. They are hopeless when it comes to "helping" you figure out your options in situations like these and they consistently make it painfully obvious they don't really care and never hold back with the attitude. Really just plain awful customer service in the pharmacy and obviously it hasn't worked in a competent or successfully structured way in a very long time. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Update: was supposed to get my medications today; someone messed up and it didn't come today-- pharmacist told me to "check back in next Friday" so I'm going on two weeks without pretty vital medication. Came to get a meningitis shot at a time of day where the pharmacy on Buffalo Speedway had hardly anyone on line, and it just took forever. The staff was nice but they kept saying that "it'd be just a moment" and at the end we were there for almost an hour. There were several people working, so it was not a matter of lack of staff. I am always pleased with my service at Walgreens. Without exception, every time I walk into Walgreens they greet the customer, even if assisting another person. I now know it's a store wide policy, even so that small gesture instantly establishes a good impression on the customer. The pharmacist on duty, Chidi, was very helpful in recommending a medication that would alleviate irritation in my eyes. I didn't have to wait long for a consult, and the recommendation he offered was spot-on. It instantly relieved the irritation. I feel so much better. I have bought so many eye drops and none worked. I also want to compliment Shanice who's one of the pharmacy tech and Kevin the store manager. They go out of their way to serve the customer. Great people here! It's the small gestures that make a difference. As I always say, good customer service makes my day, but bad customer service pisses me off! read more

I got an email saying that my order is ready (prescription digitially sent via Dr office and items i added via app) but when I got up to the window I told the woman the option to show that I was here picking up at window was not appearing on my app. I had to repeat to her several times that i had an order that I added items to. She was waving her hands in frustration and telling me she doesn't understand "Pick up what items? Pick up what items that you added? I dont understand". What is there not to understand that i placed an online order and added items to my prescription pick up. She finally reached out to someone else and it looks like they are sending someone to bring it to her. She was rude and didn't want to help me. I was going to cancel my order and tell her to just give me my prescription until she finally got with someone else to help. All that attitude was unnecessary. If you didn't know customers can add items to their pick up order that's not my problem. I was clear as day. On top of all that she didn't even say a word after she sent the items through the container. She just had her back turned. read more

I needed 3 prescriptions for an upcoming surgery they gave me 2 out of 3 and didn't let me know that they had sent the other prescription to another Walgreens because they didn't have it. Then I reached out to my medical professional again to get another script of the prescription because of the lack of communication from the team at Walgreens and went to go pick it up and they had an insufficient quantity. I needed 6 pills they only had 4. Then I go to the other Walgreens that they guarantee has it and they have had it since Friday when I went to go pick up my other two prescriptions. If I could give 0 stars I would for the pharmacy. Horrible, horrible pharmacy staff. I am dependent on a life saving drug and I went two whole days without my medication bc they didn't inform me that they needed to authorize the provider. The office manager of my doctors office had some words with them over how irresponsible and unprofessional it was to not alert me to reach out to the doctors office to get authorization. The office manager then warned me how rude and unprofessional they were over the phone and literally warned me that they may mess up my medication so to double check when I picked it up. It's a 24hour location and I had a busy day so I wasn't able to pick up the medication till midnight. Low and behold they gave me the completely wrong type of medication which seems dangerous and evil in my opinion considering this is literally a drug to sustain and improve quality of life. I had to wait another day before taking my medication which does effect me and my ability to function. Evil staff members who should not be in a profession that requires them to help sick people. read more

The manager needs to learn how to do his job. He and another clerk hide out in the back making out and make the handicap clerk take care of everything. This creates long lines for service. I had to wait ten mins for a bag of ice while the manager was messing around with the other lazy clerk in the back. Much like every other Walgreens in Houston the pharmacy is a disorganized disaster. When I dropped off a prescription around 11 am I had to wait about 30 minutes before anyone even said a word to me. Surprise, surprise, I go to pick it up around 8 pm after no one bothered to call or text or notify it was ready, I was treated to another 30 minute wait. To be clear there were not an particularly large group of customers or a long line there, the staff just didn't seem in much of a hurry. Get home and notice, they didn't bother to use my insurance, which they have on file, at all, just charged me full price and didn't mention anything. Now I have to sit on hold forever, finally talk to someone and am told to fix it I need to come back in and return the prescription so they can do everything over. Yeah no thanks, I'll just stop using Walgreens. I also overheard one of the pharmacy techs telling a customer they needed her to wait because they lost one of her prescriptions they had filled last week whenever they asked her to come back this week because they hadn't filled her other 2 prescriptions. The customer took it well and said I can come back when they are ready to which the tech stated with an attitude, "they are ready, we just can't find that one". read more

Stopped by for a flu shot & was rudely told an appointment must be made so I stood to the side & made my appointment on my phone. Loitered around the store for a good 30 minutes to kill time before my appointment. There are numerous employees behind the pharmacy counter & more than half are moving at such a slow pace, hating their jobs & probably lives with zero sense of urgency to assist customers. Not surprisingly I waited at least 15 minutes (with no one else in front of me for a flu shot!) while these employees chatted among themselves. Figured the clerk I spoke with was incompetent & didn't input my data to alert the pharmacist I was waiting for a flu shot so I approached the counter to inquire about the wait. Sure enough, someone else had to alert the pharmacist at that point about my flu shot. Was told the pharmacist is the only one that administers shots & I would have to continue waiting. Then 5 seconds later, a pharmacy manager said she would give me the flu shot. Ummm...that's a little shady but I just wanted to be on my way. Don't even bother with this pharmacy. I have been going to Walgreens all of my life, and this one is absolutely horrible. On MULTIPLE occasions I have tried to refill my prescriptions, and I have not gotten a ready email/text 9 times out of 10. When I call/text to check the order status, it says I have none. And when I do finally stop by, sometimes even a few days later, to see what is going on, they tell me it is out of stock or just not ready yet. Absolutely ridiculous because nobody ever calls or texts me letting me know. And then last night was the cherry on top with this god forsaken pharmacy. On Saturday I ordered prescriptions to be ready by Sunday. Last night, Tuesday, still no news. So I call and speak with a pharmacist. He said the prescriptions were all too early to be refilled, except one. So why didn't anybody tell me that? He said the one will be ready in 45 minutes. I show up an hour and a half later giving them extra time, and guess what? That prescription is not only out of stock, but also needs prior authorization from my doctor. This is a terribly run pharmacy and I will not be back again. PS, both with this issue and other issues in the past, the staff has been unknowledgeable and very rude. One of them even almost gave me someone else's prescription because she didn't verify birthday or address. Seriously, don't even attempt to use this location. read more

These pharmacists are friendly, will help you find hard to locate prescriptions, and will even tell you about manufacturer coupons they've seen customers use to save a buck or two (or, in my case, $350). I spent almost 15 minutes waiting on hold over the telephone to get to the pharmacist to ask that my prescriptions be transferred from across the street from HEB pharmacy. After waiting for 15 minutes, I was disconnected. I called back and had to argue with a technician. I asked to be transferred to a manager, which went to the Walgreen's call center. I was then asked for the third time to provide my address and information. The manager told me the issue would be handled that I would be able to pick up my prescriptions in two hours. I arrived at the Buffalo and Bissonnet location three hours later, only to have none of the prescriptions in the system. I then waited for 40 minutes to get the prescriptions filled. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and a bit of INCOMPETENCE. One star is generous for this location. read more

They always run my insurance incorrectly - every time. Whenever I come here, the customers are always mad because everything is being done incorrectly. This review is for the pharmacy. Lately the quality on this walgreeens has gone downhill. I used to be able to sneak in and out quickly after 8pm on weekday at least, but the last time I stopped in at the drive thru, it took 10 minutes of waiting. And then I was told they hadn't filled my prescription yet and that I would need to wait an additional 15 minutes. This was after filling my prescription online and getting an email that it was filled. It wasn't a time sensitive prescription, so I said I would come back another night. Then I waited another 5 minutes to get my cards back, as the attendant helped another customer. Wtf. When I went back to get it, I went inside instead. Even longer wait time! The cars pulling up were being helped left and right, but the people standing in line inside were rolling their eyes and waiting forever. I gave up and went thru the drvie through instead. I came back 1 hour later and they said it wasn't quite ready yet, that it would be a 5-10 min wait. I sat for a full 25 min before I received the medication. Pharmacy tech, Shawana, is extremely rude and completely unprofessional. She lacks worth ethics and customer service. Not only is the staff slow but the level of rudeness from Shawana is mind boggling. Shawana began screaming all while I remained calm and collected. I wanted to confirm the medication refill before I hung up and she screamed at me saying, "yeah! You already said that" amongst other things. I hope they have recorded phone lines so they can listen to the way she speaks to customers that she should be assisting. And when I asked her to please speak to her manager with zero accountability began laughing and said "Yea! Sure! Hahahaha". Shawana has no manners at all. Cornelius W. Is the pharmacist that assisted me today and I will say that he has a terrible attitude. This pharmacy is the nearest 24/7 pharmacy so I had to stop by here after my late shift and apparently he said that the other pharmacy down the street dropped the ball and they did not put in my prescription into the system. When I got here and tried to explain to him that I got a confirmation to pick up the prescription. Midway of telling him what's going on he cut me off and made it a point that what he had to say was a lot more important and my voice wasn't important to be heard. He even said to me, "when you figure it out just push the button" and just walks away. So I pushed the button to let him know that his attitude is unnecessary and his behavior is very unprofessional.
