June 2024 | Marina del Rey: On the way home, I stopped at Walgreens to pick up an item I had created & ordered online to include with a gift! I was grateful for the 1 Hour Photo Department! Personality Plus: Even better, when I arrived at the Photo Department, Kanishka was immediately welcoming, conversation flowed easily, and she was so friendly! Thanks again for excellent customer service! She was so upbeat; great vibe! Minus One: I'm taking away a star, because I was looking forward to picking up a product that showed in stock at this location. When I arrived, I was told that the product was not sold at the location at all. I had to backtrack and go to a completely different store, which had the product! I had the most amazing experience at this Walgreens Pharmacy. Shana was the most helpful and dedicated pharmacist I have encountered. I went to pick up a few prescriptions and asked about one particular prescription that was almost $100 with my insurance as well as with Goodrx.. I mentioned that for some reason the cost was $49 at Ralph's as well as Costco. I asked why there such a price difference and I really wished I didn't have to transfer my prescription to one of them. Shana offered to help me after I paid for the other prescriptions. She spent time looking through her various systems looking for discount coupons. She was incredibly persistent and found a coupon that reduce the price to $48 (one dollar below the lowest price). Shana's level of professionalism and patience was absolutely amazing. read more

The worst pharmacy! I mean I know there's a work shortage and they can't get people to work but come on this is ridiculous! I was told 2. It wasn't ready. I'm still in line at 3pm. There's about 12 people ahead of me. This is not right. The woman ahead of me is on her 3rd attempt to get antibiotics on her lunch break. This doesn't make sense. They did not have the medicine ready. I have to wait in line all over again?!! What happened to calling the last name and letting you know when it's ready? I told the manager about it. He said that the way it goes. Totally unbothered and rude. I told him I was leaving this on a review he shrugged his shoulders and said "do that" that's a manager that really cares right there! Terrible customer service. Especially with the manager Adrian. I ordered photos, came and they gave me a roll. I specifically listed the sized I ordered and they said that it's there. When I got home it wasn't there and when I called asking them to either refund me or send it to me they said no that I'd have to come in to get a refund, this makes absolutely no sense. I have been a loyal customer of Walgreens for many years. Sadly, I have noticed a distinct decline with the service and reliability of both prescriptions orders and purchases. In recent months my loyalty has been tested to the limit. When I get a notice that my Rx order is ready I head to the store only to find it has not been filled. I recently placed an online order for 1 hour delivery because I was in bed with a bad case of COVID. The order was confirmed, then a message two hours later informed me that there was a delay. A day went by and still no delivery. I eventually went on line and discovered that Walgreens had cancelled my order without explanation or notice, This week I went in for a Covid/flu test after reading an add on my account that Walgreens would check my insurance for coverage and that if not covered I would have to pay. No problem. However, when I went in the clerk said they don't accept insurance for such tests and that I needed to pay out of pocket. It would be nice if they were honest up front. The last straw was when I went to pay for some over the counter items I asked to use some points. Nope, you don't have any she says, despite my account showing points and emails reminding me to use them up. read more

It's certainly not the most glamorous drugstore in LA but...it gets the job done and all of the pharmacy people are intelligent, knowledgeable and kind...and kindness these days can be tough to find...so I'm grateful for Walgreens just as it is. read more

don't waste your time making an appointment for a vaccine here. they couldn't care less about wasting your time or even fully explaining what is going on. and after waiting for a substantial amount of time it was clear that the vaccination wasn't going to happen anytime remotely near the scheduled time. and of course it would be too much trouble to text you and let you know that you should come in at a later time despite texting a dozen times to remind me of my appointment time. my prescription drug insurance requires me to fill all of my prescriptions at walgreen's. i'm going to change that at the next open enrollment period. to heck with walgreen's. they just don't give a darn about their customers read more

I waited in line while an associate left the front desk for awhile. I paid for batteries that were $12, accidentally left them on the counter (it was a long day for me)...and when I went back they weren't there and the associate said he hadn't seen me before. Pretty bummed about my experience and the $12 that I spent. I'd even been at this location 4 times in the past days since ai was at a hotel down the street. Finally after this experience there are some convenience stores close by where I could find everything I needed at a slightly higher price. I don't mind paying when there is better service and the employees pay attention to you. read more

The pharmacy is very good for a drugstore pharmacy. If they don't have it in stock, it usually only takes a day or two, and they will text you when it's ready to pick up.. The selection of things in the drugstore is decent; prices are normal. Without getting into a existential discussion, one aspect that makes me give them only 3 stars is the fact that in order to get into this Walgreens, I often am aporoached and sometimes accosted by homeless people asking for money. I have sympathy for their plight, but when I am feeling sick, and have to pick up antibiotics or whatever, I feel very uncomfortable. I actually avoid picking up medication or shopping there after dark particularly. I wish the parking lot had a security guard at night. The sales people are usually very nice and efficient. read more

I was just in your store at 4009 Lincoln Blvd in Marina del Rey. I just wanted to let you know that an employee, Justin, went above and beyond in his customer service. He helped me with a photo order that hadn't printed. I needed it for a parking ticket and was moving and needed it done today. He was so helpful and patient with everyone. That store is a nuthouse. They have to deal with lunatics all day. I've lived here for ten years-I know. He gives millennials a good name and should be commended for his excellent service. read more

This review is for the pharmacy but I'd give the store four stars too. First off, there is never a line of more than one or two people waiting. You can refill by phone, and there is actually parking in the Marina! The small pharmacy is in the back of the store and you can pay there. They have a fully automated system so you will always know when your prescriptions are ready. Plus they call you! Staff is friendly and helpful and they usually have whatever you need. I've switched over a few prescriptions to start and have found them to be really great! read more

One star is too many. The pharmacy was rude, and went out of their way to make sure I couldn't use a discount card which Walgreens actually accepts. There is a reason they have such bad reviews. I'll be going elsewhere going forward. Nobody should have to deal with these people. Edit: soooo, the girl lied to me. There was no law against using a discount card there. She threatened to look up through a "government" database to see if I was on a state insurance, even though I wasn't using insurance. I was paying CASH. Avoid this pharmacy at ALL costs, the crew as I write this post filing with corporate and then non emergency discrimination and negligence complaints. A pharmacist helper named Diane has quite a temper, I guess I was in the wrong side of it. Since then I have been punished by the whole "team", Amy, Anna and Marli? Mark? The manager? They have also told me that my medication would be ready 3 times, and 3 times "we are out of stock", I don't even know how to process this in the middle of a pandemic. I write Yelp reviews only when something is so amazing- or so HORRIBLE, HORRIFIC, DANGEROUS, ILLEGAL AND INAPPROPRIATE THAT I NEED TO SHARE OR I WOULD FEEL LIKE A BAD HUMAN. This particular group of people are 5 of the rudest, coldest and most nonsensically nasty people I have ever encountered. I am crying as I write this- for people to be so unconscious, cruel, to bully a patient? This is not a safe pharmacy, the people are shifty and you can not depend on them being professional or caring about you at all. You should not expect to be treated like a patient, not even a human, and you should not go to this pharmacy if you think you will easily have a local pharmacy in venice. I have seen them treat older people poorly, getting frustrated, it's not just me, I hope someone gets them out of there, no one deserves the discrimination and lies from a pharmacy, just to get your medication, the details are t that important- just that these are had people and they are connected in their misery and hate if patients I suppose. I forgive them for hurting me like this- my intention only ever to be of service- MANI (manager?) MARY (will sometimes tell you her name is "Anna") ANNA- she will be confused by that- but she won't help And DIANE- she is just so sad and miserable you can see it from 20 feet, I send them all healing to wake up and be better people. Live a better life - intentionally hurting people, it's very clear they all seem to be insecure, but maliciously, malevolent and with out fear or care they act. And they act ILLEGALLY. I am now filing with the VENICE NON EMERGENCYPICE, and meeting Nelson store manager tomorrow. This location is totally ruined due to the huge amount of homeless people that live / hangout just outside the door. It's too much. I dread coming here even to pick up my prescription because I always get harassed. Last time one of them was writing my license plate on his little notepad and screaming that he was going to put a hex on me because I ignored him when he told me to give him money. There has to be a way to keep them off the property. They need enhanced security or something. read more

This Walgreen's is alright. It's kind of small, but it'll do. This place always seems kind of dingy. There's always a bum in the front of the store. Parking: Parking is okay. They have a medium sized lot that's shared with a Wharo KBBQ, Marina Watch, a cell phone store, and a few other stores. Most of the parking stalls are narrow. Also, it's a hassle to get in and out of sometimes. read more

Love me some Walgreens for last minute gifts! They have a great selection of cards, gift cards, and random knick knacks. They also have a great "As Seen on TV" isle :) Good for snacks, toiletries, beer.. cosmetics. I love their photo department. If I could give zero star I would. I'm returning an item with the receipt and original credit card in hand in 7 days. I'm asked for a gov't photo ID. Why? If I do a return of $300 at a department store with the receipt and original credit card, no problem. I will not shop at Walgreens again because I've also did a return at a different store once and no ID was asked for. The gov't ID policy on the receipt creates a discrimination practice as a company policy. I will not be surprised if a law group challenge Walgreens ID return policy in a class-action-lawsuit! read more

Mostly cooperative tech assistants, but pharmacist was most helpful first store, confused about my prescription 2nd store. Well stocked store with reasonable full prices generally; while 2nd store admitted by poster that they could not obtain certain items due to supply chain problems. One store was better stocked than the other but both had a lot. read more

When I said those were mine and asked him to stop not only he was very rude but also unapologetic and nasty. No business that deals with the public should have such a bad attitude employee. I love this Walgreens! The staff are always so courteous and helpful. I have tried other stores like Rite Aid or CVS and I never get the same service. I especially like the pharmacy here at this Walgreens as they are awesome. They are super busy but they never treat you rudely. They always look for discounts when we ask and they're available. Diane V in particular takes great care of us. It's my paradise! ;) My wife was using CVS for years and kept having bad experiences and I convinced her to switch and now she loves this Walgreens. read more

This review is purely for the pharmacy. I transferred my prescription here from CVS, as the Walgreens is right on my way home from work. I ended up filling one prescription at this location before transferring my rx back to CVS (a different CVS location). I came in around 2pm on a Saturday, so I expected it to be busy. However, nothing could have prepared me for what I experienced. Let me start with the parking. Total zoo. That entire parking lot, there's a mini strip mall connected to the Walgreens lot, is tiny. It's so small that two-way traffic can barely make it through. If you do happen to find a spot, good luck getting out. Even if my experience inside was great, I still wouldn't have kept my rx at this location, purely because of the parking situation. Upon entering, I was greeted by a very friendly man working the front register. This man was THE ONLY bright spot. I ended up buying an item on my way out, so I ended up interacting with this man twice, and he was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, a smile on his face. The lone bright spot. Now, to the pharmacy. First off, the pharmacy space is so small. Maybe the same person designed the parking lot & the pharmacy lay out. It wouldn't surprise me one bit. I believe they have 3 or 4 registers, but I could be wrong. They also had what seemed like a full pharmacy staff back there, as there were at least 6 people behind the counter. There were probably 10 people in line, as it stretched around the corner & down the last aisle of the store. There were also 3 or 4 people sitting in the chairs off to the side. They never once thought about opening a second register, so the line just kept getting longer. Also, because of the small space, there is absolutely zero privacy. I could hear everything that was being discussed & the pharmacy workers seemed as if they couldn't care less. Once I made it to the front of the line, I gave the lady my information & she went off to find my prescription. Upon returning, she scanned & handed me two prescriptions. I only had one. She handed them right to me & I had to tell her that I only had one prescription. She then replied "oh, what did I give you?" It turns out, she handed me two prescriptions for one of the people sitting off to the side. Now, I don't know the laws, but this seems like a total disregard for patient privacy & something that shouldn't happen. I completely understand that mistakes happen, however this was incredibly unprofessional, especially because she had ME look at what was handed over. I feel like this should be done prior to arriving back at the counter with the prescription bags. I was finally able to get my one prescription & get the heck out of there. I understand that this review is based on one encounter, and everyone has bad days, but there was just far too much that went awry. If it weren't for the friendly man at the front counter, this place would be a complete disaster. I've since tried to move away from the major pharmacy chains (I transferred my one rx to the CVS in Playa Vista since I needed it that day & I live right there). I highly suggest considering "mom 'n pop" pharmacies (if you go through my reviews, you can see my choice). The service is FAR superior, they take the time to get to know you, & if you wait for your prescription after dropping it off, you never wait more than 10 minutes. read more

When I show up to get my prescription, I am rudely told by some lady wearing casual clothes (no name tag or Walgreens uniform) that my prescription was not in stock. When I asked her how do I proceed to get my prescription, she snapped at me and told me to check back on Fridays or go shop around for another pharmacy. read more
