I just went to get prescription, and both Hispanic "ladies" told me I live too far away (it's only 15 miles BTW) and as if because of that they cannot give me medicine. I am in great pain, swollen jaw and they saw that. Prior I had no problem in this same place with a Caucasian lady who in addition was super nice. I have a proof of everything. They take appointments for the covid 19 vaccinations and give notice on the website to be at the appointment 15 minutes early. They close for lunch regardless of appointments. 30 minutes plus after appointment and everyone in a never ending line has been helped first. This is just a terrible location for customer service. Would absolutely not recommend esp if you book a vaccination. read more

In general, I have a soft spot for Walgreens. I love any store that I can walk in for Advil, and walk out with three candy bars, a tube of mascara, a pair of socks discounted 90%, and a hot pink paper weight. Basically, every trip is an adventure...you never know what you are going to get. I stopped in this particular Walgreens to buy some melatonin while vacationing. I was impressed immediately as I was greeted by a greeter. The only other place that I have ever seen a greeter is Walmart! Maybe it was to keep out the bums, but that was only the start of the zealous customer service. Immediately, a young and chipper sales boy took over by asking if he could help us find anything. I said no, because it would infringe on my opportunity to browse and buy worthless junk, but my husband said yes because he doesn't love the excitement of impulsive frivolous and needless purchases like I do. "Sleep aids," my husband answered. "Like melatonin?" the sales boy replied, sounding rather hopeful. My husband seemed surprised that he guessed correctly, and was quickly ushered to the back of the store and directed to the lowest shelf. "1mg is not enough but you can also get 3mg and 5mg" the sales boy explained. He knew a lot about melatonin, and hung out until we made our selection. I cannot remember his name, but he was definitely worthy of a shout out for great customer service and knowledge about sleep aids. At the register, the clerk sprayed Fabreeze in between customers. Horrible customer service. Came to have passport photos taken. Not only do they not have a mirror where one can at least take a look at what they look like before taking a picture, the person taking the picture acted like it was such a chore for her to be doing this service. When I didn't like the picture she took and wanted another one prior to printing them, she rolled her eyes and was completely disrespectful. She ended up printing the picture I didn't choose. I made the mistake of not checking it prior to her putting it in the envelope and was charged $16.41 for a horrible shot! Do not go here for passport pictures. read more

The cashier was stoned as f***! When I entered she was vacantly watching a foreigner as he painstakingly used body language and struggled to find the words to his ailment, all the while she just gave him a glassy stare. When he stopped flailing around and paused for her assistance, the earth stood still for like 10 whole seconds. Her response was priceless: "Ahhhhhhhahaha! OK." The foreigner was dumbfounded. He repeated "OK?" And she said "Yeah, OK" as if that were the answer he was looking for. Like he just needed approval for his problem. He was at a total loss and kept repeating "OK" between exasperated grumblings as he stormed out the door emptyhanded. When it was my turn at the register she was leaning on the counter like sleepy toddler. She asked if I'd like to "purchase a bag for ten minutes...I mean ten seconds...I mean ten cents! Ahhhahaha!" Horrible Walgreens! Doctors office sent over a prescription the day before. I waited 20 minutes to pick it up. When I finally got to the counter the tech (Diana) had to search for it since the pharmacy is very disorganized. Orders are is several different locations. They had added an extra item to the order. Diana returned the item. I paid and left. They called me an hour later demanding I return to the store because their employee messed up and charged me for only the item they were supposed to return. That store is 30 minutes from my home in good traffic. I was offered no recompense for the inconvenience of taking an hour out of my day to fix their employees screwup. Just wanted to add a clarification on pharmacy hours. On Sundays, the pharmacy opens at 10am, although the store itself is open 24/7. As other reviewers have noted, this store has a surprisingly large quantity of varied and strange merchandise. My husband and I made. 4am run to pick up supplies for an ailing family elder who was fighting cancer and came away with all sorts of gifts and supplies that made her chuckle: pink fuzzy wrap and socks, depends undergarments, probiotics and on the same trip got passport photos done for ourselves. Another noteworthy product line that we saw on that expedition was in the condom section. We were amused to note that they had expanded this line with quite the array of his and hers "intimate" toys. Bad costumer service. I was waiting at the registry to pay my items. They were two girls one named Elena siting down and talking to another one whom who was laying on the counter. I had to wait 10 minutes until I told they I was ready. Not only that, they tend to have wrong tags on items. This isn't the first time I seen this, but every time I go a item has a wrong tag. I've been coming here for almost as long as they have been open! I love coming here! Most of the People that work there call me by name, and It's like a small town store... they know my medical history...knew my Dog... and knew my ex-husband and have never been anything but NICE and Professional! Some of the other reviewers were obviously waiting for meds that needed taking asap and The one guy who works nearby and who says he drives all over town for "PAIN MEDS" was obviously in a state of DETOX (and maybe is a 'DOC and Pharmacy shopper' (which is why James probably asked you a few questions as to why you are buying the script there, instead of your own neighborhood place....as it's hard to get those pain meds nowadays...People will do anything for Drugs and when they need them they need them NOW! He should know how busy this area of town is. He could have dropped off the script the day before, and picked them up the next day... To say the store is 'too small' for some, is totally ridiculous...It's small because it's a place meant for the once 'small town of Marina Del Rey/Venice and not the overpopulated mess it's become, because of 'yahoos and Googlers' who move here from the Other States for the California SUN to ruin, and build us up like NYC (that's why we have homeless outside the door, they are everywhere now in our neighborhood. Where else can they go? Arkansaw? wherein the Hell would anyone want to live aside from Marina and Venice? Once you get a taste...you gotta be here, obviously......(sorry I grew up here and detest the overboard building and over crowdedness of Venice/ Marina area!) (why do we need highrises along the coast? there is no ' saltwater sea air' anymore, it smells like burnt rubber in spots... (but that's a different review.) What they need is a few more pharmacy's in the area that keeps up with the stock... But don't take it out on 'Walgreens at Lincoln and Venice'...they were built to be, a small corner location, like a mom and Pop shop. As for the lady who complained about the small parking lot, She should get a different car, or walk there, its a neighborhood location. Or get your meds at Costco...Huge big parking lot... This is the scariest Walgreens ever. I got out of my car and a homeless came out of nowhere and followed me. Eventually he disappeared and I continued shopping for my necessities. Walked out and there two other young homeless guys that aggressively approached me, looked like they were under the influence of something. Walgreens needs to put better security. This Walgreens is certainly hard to get into if you're not on the right side of Lincoln, but there's usually enough parking space in the parking lot once you make it in :] There's not much to say about this place, it's a Walgreens and they're all pretty standard in my book. The staff is friendly enough although nothing positive or negative stands out to me right now. The only thing I have to say is that I recently got some photos developed there (which I ordered through their website and picked up only a few hours later!) and one of the pictures had a huge ink blob type mark right in the middle of someone's eye in one. I didn't check the photos until I got home, and it's certainly not worth the trip to go back in my opinion, but it was a bummer to have a picture ruined. I can easily just get it reprinted next time I order prints though so it's not that big of a deal...just thought I'd share! From now on, I'll check my prints in the store just in case :] read more

I love me some Walgreen's. I'm from Chicago and nearly wanted to throw a party when they came here. Brings back a lot of memories. In Chicago, there is one like on every corner and it is very convenient. The staff is always friendly. They are well stocked. I can always find my cheese/caramel corn which I miss so much that is made fresh in Chicago. This is the next best thing. The prices seem to be lower than other stores like CVS. I clip the coupons and can't believe the deals. Today, without a coupon, I found Oscar Meyer weiners for 2.99 and one free. At 2.99 that is around 1/2 what you'd pay at the market. So I was very pleased with that. I got 2 packs of Oscar Meyer for $2.99. Unheard of. I don't know why people bitch about the parking. In L.A., we're lucky to get any parking at all. They have a large wrapped roll of toilet paper that is typically 3 for $4 which is cheap, but today's deal was 2 for $1. Even better. Love me some Walgreen's! read more

Geez, this place has an excellent location which terrible accesibility. Trying to enter or get out of this place is a challenge. Lincoln Bld is always packed so making a left to exit is a no-no. I had to take some alleys. Store is small, clean and they have pretty good sales. Use their coupons! read more

This spot is right by my parents house so we can walk there. Now that I don't have to ask where things are located I have a much better time in the store. Sometimes the staff can be hard to find which is tough when you don't know where anything is. The parking IS tough but it is everywhere in LA so you should just expect it by now. My wife just waited on hold for 28 minutes to ask the pharmacy if her prescription was ready. I understand that it is too much to ask that they answer the phone: understaffed = low prices! But I wish corporate would change it so the hold music didn't say every 30 seconds "we are sorry we are taking other calls right now, we'll be right with you" because that OBVIOUSLY isn't true. Eventually my wife did get the digital notification that her prescription was ready, but it was too late for us to go pick it up. So how much can I complain? The worst. They filled the wrong prescription, then blamed the doctor. Their automated phone system is always messed up. They shorted another prescription so I had to go back and get the remaining amount. Their comment was Oops... Oops!?!When I commented that a prescription cost me $70 there, and only $17 at Rite Aid their comment was... maybe I should go to Rite Aid... This review is for the pharmacy. They consistently take forever to fill prescriptions. Every time I come here I say I'm never coming again. And then I get sucked back in due to proximity to my home. Latest success story is it took them 24 hours to fill my urgent prescription. Only filled it once I called and waited on hold forever to see what was going on. They close at 6pm so I hustled over. Only to find that the pharmacist had gone on break and they can't dispense prescriptions without him. Why on earth would the pharmacist take a break with 40 minutes until closing time?! read more

Horrible Service! Doctor called in a prescription late Friday night and then I got a call that it could be filled because the dispensing device was broken. I asked if they could transfer the prescription to a different pharmacy and the pharmacist said that she could not and the doctor would have to call a different pharmacy. I tried to reach Walgreen on Saturday and wasted 20 minutes with no one answering. I tried again on Sunday and waisted 15 minutes on the phone with two people picking up and then hanging up on me. I called the doctor and she called and after 6 minutes was disconnected. I continued to call and after many attempts someone answered the call and said that I would need to talk with the pharmacist and he was on the other line. I eventually talked with a man that said that he was the pharmacist and would work on getting the prescriptions ready in about one hour but that they would then be closed for lunch. Explanation given for the dropped calls was that they were very busy. Very unprofessional for pharmacy to ignore waiting calls from patients and even more so from doctors. Time to find a different pharmacy! read more

Half the Pharmacist staff are pleasant and friendly, treating me with courtesy. And then there is the other rude Pharmacist or two that is incredibly rude and obviously hate the customers. More than once I have been put on hold in the middle of asking a question about a pending prescription, never to be picked up on again. IN THE MIDDLE OF ASKING A QUESTION, without any warning or common courtesy to say she will return in a moment. As far as I am concerned, these two Pharmacist brings down the reputation of the whole department. Would give the entire store's costumer service (pharmacy excluded) from phone service to in-person a zero if possible. I called to asked if the photo order I sent via Shutterfly was ready. Ten minutes on hold later they finally were able to look in the computer and said the order was being processed. I transferred all of my prescriptions here from that other big chain that rhymes with "see me stress". It was pretty much right after they opened this location, since it was really close to me. Well, imagine my pleasant surprise- my scripts are always filled on time (and correctly, may I add, which is another review for another place) and if I have a question, the pharmacy staff is super approachable and helpful. Front end of the store is stocked with literally everything you can imagine (I mean, I found Nickelodeon Gak here once - yes, Gak) and really clean. The cashier in pharmacy (Frank) was very helpful, he verified and corrected my address and even asked for insurance info which helped me save $60. Made my day Frank.
