You may read about Walgreens closing many stores. I want to share my experience, which was very negative. I was a customer of the Campbell CA store and received great service. The pharmacist in particular was terrific. Around a year ago I received a letter that the store had closed and all of my prescriptions were sent to CVS without my knowledge or permission. I consider this a violation of HIPAA. No one asked for my permission to send personal medical information to the store . In addition no one checked my insurance which is solely for Walgreens. Once transferred to the appropriate Walgreens location, more problems occurred w the Menlo Park store, which is the closest to my home. I have had nothing but problems. My first prescription was not completely transferred so I had to wait an inordinate amount of time for it to be filled. I have issues with almost every refill now. My last prescription took over two weeks to fill and I was leaving for vacation and needed it. The lines and wait can frequently be very long. Be aware if you hear that your store is closing- you may need to be proactive. read more

You couldn't do any worse. You name it, 20+ minute wait times on good days, pharmacist's that cop attitudes regularly and overall piss poor service- all right here. Doc sends in a script? 50/50 chance nothing happens until you come in. Requires insurance authorization? 100% chance nothing happens until you physically walk in to ask for an update. Service is horrible. I was able to download yelp and write a review while waiting in line for prescriptions and the line has hardly moved. Always takes at least 30 min to pickup prescriptions. Never experienced a pharmacy this incapable before. read more

I needed to put this review in before I get geared up for my shift. My wife visited this location today to locate a wound ointment. Plain and direct, the Filipino women that work in this store are rude. When my wife asked where the ointment (the website says it's in store) could be found, a employee said in a smug voice, " Oh, you need to go the big store, we're a small one and we don't carry it." My wife felt that another Filipino co-worker was talking trash in their native language. Walgreens.. rectify this.. before I take our business elsewhere.. Convenient location, but otherwise a terrible Walgreens location. Pharmacy has long waits, can't be reached via phone (on hold for half an hour then it hangs up on you) and staff is only moderately helpful. They are also consistently more expensive than other pharmacies in the area. read more

This pharmacy was the only one having my medication available, and the lady was so nice. She saw that my primary insurance was not covering this medication and found a coupon for me to cover more than half of the cost! I am very thankful she did that. read more

Friendly and helpful staff. Lines are only long when the patients in line have lots of questions instead of a quick pickup. The staff have helped us numerous times to get brand name medication or generics from specific manufacturers when requested. read more

So the selection may be smaller and the store isn't modernized but the pharmacy opens until 9pm, the lines generally are short and go by fast, and employees here are deeeecently friendly. No matter what neighbourhood I happen to be, every Walgreens seems to look the same. The aisles are dense and the merchandise, workers, and clientele all pretty much look the same that is ever was. I've already forgotten what I needed yesterday, but I did get sign up for a Rewards Card, which significantly cut the bill. I got what I needed, the clerk was as friendly as one might expect, the lines were manageable, and I was back on the street soon enough. My husband and I have had terrible experience at this pharmacy. At the last covid shot, he was administered an empty syringe which the pharmacist left lying around in the wrong bin. And recently, it has been an ordeal getting my monthly medication that I depend on for my survival which a competent pharmacist would be aware of. The saga started on Dec 9th when I requested my prescription to be refilled. Typically the turnaround time is one day. The status on the app shows it has been delayed without any explanation and with a note that someone will contact me if needed. I wait 2 days at which point, I no longer have any medication left. I repeatedly call them over 2 days waiting longer than 45 minutes without any success. I finally go into the store on Friday Dec 16th and wait in line for an hour and I am told they have delayed the medicine because they deemed it too expensive. Note we are talking about a medication that I depend on for my survival. And the medication is not more expensive than the last month's supply - only this time I asked for a 90 day supply instead of a 30 day supply - so obviously it was 3 times more. Anyways, I approve the cost expressing displeasure that I wasn't even contacted and the pharmacist made a call on her own to delay this. I was asked to come back in 20mins and when I do, i am informed that they only have 5 tablets to give me right now and the rest I can get the next day. I leave hoping to receive my medication the next day. I check the status the next day, now it says it will be ready on Monday Dec 19th. I am again running out since I had to use the 5 tablets to make up for lost days before. I calm myself down. Unfortunately I have to fly overseas last minute on Sunday night without my medication (side note: overseas fortunately this is a medication i can get very easily). I planned to ask my husband to pick up my medication the next day. Again, I see the status that my medication is again delayed without any explanation. I come back after a week Dec 27th and call them promptly the next day Dec 28th. Thankfully, I am connected to someone in 30mins. They again inform me that it has been held up due to the cost of the medication. Are you kidding me? How many times do we need to go through this? This is a medication i need to live. The staff doesn't care - all they say is it will be ready tmrw and sorry if I was inconvenienced and that they don't have any record of it being held up. Finally it is ready but after 3 weeks! What an incompetent staff and pharmacy. read more

I feel sorry for the pharmacy staff in this Walgreens. They are always understaffed and always have long lines of customers waiting. It's not necessarily the pharmacists' or assistants' fault, so be nice to them; I think it is Walgreen's management that doesn't care about their staff or their customers. Plus, management doesn't give new employees training. I'm elderly and standing in a long line is difficult for me. Maybe the store should try giving out numbers so that shoppers can browse the store or just take a seat until their number is called. I'm thinking of switching to CVS because they have a drive -up window. It's slow but at least I can sit in my car and listen to music while I wait. read more

Some Walgreens are decent shopping experiences. And even sometimes the service at Walgreens on Santa Cruz in Menlo Park is pleasant. But that's rare. I've had it with the consistently long lines at the pharmacy (15-30 minutes) and the cashier staff is usually rude, bordering on hostile. Who needs unkind, unresponsive exchanges when just trying to pick up a regular prescription ? Goodbye Walgreens Menlo Park, hello Safeway, Pharmaca, literally anywhere else. Tried to return something with the FedEx in the Walgreens. They couldn't send me a text receipt to confirm it was returned. When I asked about it they said they can't do anything. The woman didn't speak English. They have terrible customer service. read more

I stopped in here because I remembered that I needed to get a passport photo taken, and I don't really trust myself to attempt to do this on my own with the passport fees on the line if I screw it up. Honestly, I kind of wish I'd remembered to get this photo at a different time. There was no mirror anywhere in the vicinity to check your appearance, and they basically start setting you up to take the photo right there and then, so if you wanted to fix your hair or whatever in the bathroom, you better have done it beforehand :/ The guy taking the photo also didn't bother telling me I had a bunch of flyaways on the side of my head and was reluctant to re-take the photo (it's a digital camera, and he at least re-took it once, but that was it) and just said he was going to photo-shop them out. He did, but I think I would have appreciated some ability to see myself--it's a pretty crummy photo and in retrospect, I should have just refused the whole process right then and there. It doesn't exactly cost a lot to have a mirror on the back of the door or something. Then printing the photo took forever, because between taking the photo and going to print it, they started printing a run of 100 photos for someone who I guess must have been printing them for a graduation announcement or thank you, so I ended up waiting another half an hour for the photo to print. The final product is not worth either the wait or the price, and I'm considering getting the photos retaken elsewhere or doing them myself, because really, it did not feel professional at all, and it certainly doesn't look it. Perhaps I was a fool for not just taking the photo myself to begin with. read more

I went there to get a vaccine and I left at 1 hour waiting mark. The person filling out the paperwork got confused, he was about to give me another vaccine (!!), filled my information wrongly (twice) and seemed overall unprofessional. I decided to leave because this person kept me waiting, kept getting confused and at that point I wasn't sure he knew how to even give the shot. read more

This is the only Walgreens in the area that has the medication I get. Every time I go in there, there is a line around the door and one person at the counter helping. I wait at least 20 minutes every time. I went to the front of the store to see if someone could assist her and the lady from photo, very rudely said she was the only person that could help and she was busy. When I called yesterday to speak with the pharmacy, I was on hold for just over 24 minutes. It's so ridiculous. If you have a choice, never go here. Parking is always a challenge, customer service is bad and the wait is terrible. read more

Wow I see why this places so badly rated. I called the pharmacy to get a prescription transferred from another pharmacy and the pharmacist was so inaccurate with all the details. Kept making mistakes and I kept having to correct him until finally I just gave up and sa goodbye. That was all after a 12 minute on hold weight time with the Walgreen's wait music interrupted every 20 seconds with an announcement that they couldn't help me yet. Update: was in there the other day and there was a huge line at the pharmacy. Then I went to nearby CVS and there was no line. They're so easy to deal with at CVS read more

Walgreens has listened to it's customers and stepped it up. This store has remodeled it's prescription drop-off and pick-up counters to include 4 registers for pick-up, and they'll open all of them when necessary. The Walgreens app for the smartphone and tablet is amazing. One of the best apps for a "retailer" that I've seen so far. See your prescription history, tap on those you'd like refilled, select your pick up time and it's all set when you get there. Walgreens has an automated phone system to let you know your prescriptions are waiting for you, but you can set your own alert or reminder too. Very slick, a huge time saver. I find the people here very helpful and although the front of the store is a bit dated with only two registers, they open the register in cosmetics and cameras when it's busy, so be sure to check there. Always help around, usually overstaffed. They go out of their way to bill your insurance leaving no hassle for you. I really get the sense that they do their best in that regard. My only complaint is the panhandling out in front of the store, but I guess they can't do much about that. Use the back entrance if you want to avoid it. read more

Great as long as you don't have to use the pharmacy. I've never not stood in line for at minimum 20 minutes. The standard big company/doesn't care routine goes without saying but the additional pains aren't necessary but standard here: Pick up 3 days later- oh they don't have it. They didn't call, text or even notify you on the app. Or the 30 minutes on line to tell you they 1) won't have it until next week 2) simply forgot to fill it 3) have to call your dock etc (all my experiences). No one can be bothered to tell you of course. Wasting your time is not their concern. read more

I usually have an okay experience at this Walgreen's. I've bought make up, snacks, photos, etc. Unfortunately, the pharmacy is disorganized and a pharmacy tech by the name of Carla is beyond rude. I walk up to the window. She sees me and continues to organize some medications. I wait for 3 minutes or so just watching her as she tells me she'll be right there. First thing she does is ask for my name. I tell her my Medi-Cal Member ID and she confirms my address. For some reason, she says I am not showing up in the system or something. She tells me to "GO" get my pharmacy card from my car. I do it. Then she says I still can't find you in the system. She needs the last four digits of my social security. I tell her. She goes to the back. She says they need the whole social security number. I tell her. She goes to the back again. When she returns, she does not even acknowledge me. She starts to go back to her organizing. Mind you, all of the medications are strewn on the counter. She occasionally looks back at me once in a while to see my reaction. After 5 minutes or so I say "Miss, is there a reason why this is taking long?" She says "they are verifying your insurance, the pharmacist will let me know when it's ready. Sorry." At this point, I am pissed but holding my anger inside. I have strep throat and I am heading to the airport, and all she has to do is tell me what is going on. You won't believe the next thing that happens. Another customer shows up and she asks me to step aside so she can help them. She was absolutely unapologetic. My anger was building, but I am good at keeping it in. I say OK as I stare at her. Finally, my mom walks in and says "Hi, Carla" with a big smile. I tell my mom I'm sorry it's taking so long. Miss Carla goes back to organizing the medications as I stand there looking like an idiot. Finally, she says "OK we verified your insurance and the bill pharmacist will talk to you. Do you want me to get the pharmacist?" I say yes, and wonder why she would ask me and not just get the pharmacist. The pharmacist is very sweet. She explains everything I need to do while on the antibiotics. She asks if I have any more questions. I say "yes, I just wanted to know what was going on with my insurance." She says "Oh, Carla didn't tell you?" I say "I had to ask her what was going on and I wish the wait time would have been communicated to me." The therapist says "I will tell Carla." Carla just walks away to help another customer as she hears me tell the pharmacist my concerns as if she did nothing wrong. The pharmacist had no idea I was just waiting around for 20 minutes! I believed Carla was communicating with the pharmacist, but she wasn't. I work in healthcare and I would NEVER be okay with letting a patient or customer wait around without any communication of what is going on. Moral of the story is, do not go to this pharmacy as long as Carla works here. She is unprofessional and needs to be retrained. The pharmacist is wonderful, though. read more

Never have I encountered an operation so full of incompetent and careless employees. I have had to pick up medications here for years and I can tell you that without fail, this pharmacy is a nightmare to deal with every time. If you're bored and have time to waste this is a great place to go, they won't fix your boredom but the WILL waste your time guaranteed. Never ever ever come here to get your prescription filled. They called it in yesterday evening and now it is 515 the next evening and they are still filling it and it's only three effing pills !!!!! They are understaffed and a long line. Are usually shop at Pharmaca but they were out of it so they called this Walgreens but I will never come back for a prescription. read more

Despite the many negative reviews, I found my experience at Walgreens to be pleasant, and obtaining routine prescriptions uneventful. I think that if you call in your prescription refills to the automated request system, I have no problems picking them up. Joining the Walgreens drug discount program also saves a lot of money for those without drug insurance coverage. read more

The store was a bit crowded yesterday (it IS Christmas week), and I was happy to see that the Manager, Sergio jumped in to help at the checkout counter!
