I used the drive through to receive my medication yesterday and everything went fine until the Doctor came to the window to tell me how the medication was to be taken. She was speaking very fast and when I tried to ask her to slow down she continued to talk over me and even faster. It was like trying to communicate with a 16 year old girl. This has never happened to me at a pharmacy ever. It was as if she was only telling me the instructions because she had to. After she finished she told me everything she said was on the bottle. She also never iterated that I should spread out the two pills I'd be taking daily. I proceeded to read the instructions but still managed to take the medication wrong. I believe it was because of this incident. This was unprofessional as we are talking about medication here. I then called to ask if how I took the medication was ok and I know I the call was answered by the same woman doctor. She had no answer for me and again was rushing the conversation. Rather that she needed to call my doctor? This has never happened to me before. I believe a Pharmacist doctor should know the answer to these kinds of simple questions. She told me she would need to call my doctor and call me back. She did call back with decent news which was great. My only advise here is no matter how busy somewhere gets that the pharmacists take their job more seriously and take time in explaining how medication should be consumed properly. Extremely disappointed in the service that we received here. Came on a Wednesday evening with my friend for his passport photo, as Walgreens offers a free digital copy with purchase of a printed copy. There was no line, so the store associate took his photo and uploaded it to their system. After, we inquired about the free digital copy (which was advertised on the Walgreens website as well as on the signage in store), the associate said they had never heard about it. He eventually reached out to a coworker who confirmed that the free digital copy was in fact a valid offer. Once my friend paid for his photos, he checked his email as the photos are supposed to be emailed upon purchase. Unfortunately they were never delivered, so we asked the store associate if there is anything he could do. He did little to look for alternatives and simply stated that it was not possible to get into the system to resend. The printed photos weren't the best quality (the background appeared a bit gray) so even when uploaded to the passport site, the photo was disapproved. If you are looking to get new passport photos, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Since my Walgreens Pharmacy at 903 E Huntington in Monrovia closed down, transfer of my medications has been mucked up to no end. Also since my most experienced pharmacist (Tim) was moved to another location, all my medications essentially are in disarray. The General Manager gave me a call to ensure problem free. Outcome was worse, it seems the pharmacist are like trainees and the technicians are warehouse helpers. It's still taking weeks and months to straighten out the fiasco. My recommendation: Avoid this pharmacy by all means necessary. Find a different branch or pharmacy. read more

For years my family and I have given this Walgreens the benefit of the doubt, it's the closest location to us. This place is absolutely horrendous. It is extremely unorganized. Don't bother running to pick up your prescription real quick, even calling with a quick question, it will take an hour MINIMUM. Worst Pharmacy ever! Both myself and my husband have tried to fill prescriptions here, and there is always an issue with basic insurance or getting the full prescription from the provider. Recently, they told my husband he can't fill his Rx since his insurance (Aetna) doesn't allow it. I checked on Aetna's pharmacy page and it listed this Walgreens as a preferred pharmacy. I don't know what the deal is, but every time I've come here, there are questions about insurance, the wait time is unbelievable, and no communication or updates when trying to fill an Rx. Unbelievable experience with this Walgreens. I have an ear infection, and my doctor prescribed ear drops but after several days the pharmacy still can't fill my prescription. First, I was told it was an insurance issue, then when I called today I was told the drops are available over the counter. Yet no one at the pharmacy or in the Wallgreens store has ever heard of the product. So I call my doctor and turns out it was a totally different medicine name for the prescription but now Walgreens refuses to take my call. Very sad really. I can't imagine if I had a serious, life threatening illness and was dependent on these incompetent pharmacists to fill my prescriptions. This review is strictly for the pharmacy. I really don't know what it is, but they always....ALWAYS take forever. They have a drive-thru, but that takes even longer. There's always people waiting inside in the waiting area. I had so many issues with them because I would call and ask if my medicine was ready for pick up, and they would give me the run around. First of all, the calls don't go directly to this location. It goes to either a different pharmacy or call center (I forgot what the girl told me). If you need to speak to them directly, they will transfer you, but good luck getting them to answer. They would leave me on hold for over 20 minutes. Sometimes, the call would get "disconnected." When I would finally get through or go in to ask on the prescription, they would give me a date to pick up. I would show up on that day, and 1, it wasn't ready, and I had to wait or 2 they would tell me to come back another time. It was getting ridiculous. I thought it was just me who had this problem, but one time, I overheard a lady telling the pharmacist not to call her saying her medicine was ready for pick up if it wasn't. I realized then and there that it was an ongoing issue not just with me but with others as well. That was the last straw. I transferred everything else to a different pharmacy. This Walgreens is not as close to my house and was wasting too much of my time going back and forth or even trying to get ahold of them. read more

Worst service ever!!! I've been treated poorly on so many occasions! The first time I came for an appointment for a Chicken Pox vaccination. I waited 30 MINUTES for the Pharmacist to tell me I was mistaken and needed Shingles. This is after they called me and my doctor to confirm it was Chicken Pox Vaccination I needed. Then I was told to wait another 35 minutes for them to try & charge me $185 because my insurance didn't cover it!!! But it did they just needed doctor authorization, which they could have requested when calling to confirm the vaccination. They don't what they are doing and are so rude! Needless to say, I did NOT get the vaccination after over an hour of waiting! Then I waited 15 minutes stuck behind a truck in the drive thru. When I finally got to the window they walked away! I pushed the call button and was told there were two people ahead of me! What?!?? How would they know. 25 minutes later I picked up my prescription! Avoid this Walgreens at all costs!! We miss the other Walgreens on the corner of Huntington & Mountain. They were friendly & customer service was always top notch! I guess we will be moving to Amazon! read more

Although the store is stocked with most items, you should beware of the personnel who are quite young and not as capable, efficient and honest as in other Walgreen's stores. I walked out with part of my purchase (greeting cards), but forgot to check for one makeup item, which I paid for. However, when I went back to retrieve it, believing it had rolled off the counter unnoticed, the cashier asked if l'd checked my bag. She hadn't put my cards in a bag, just handed them to me, so the bulky cosmetic item was never felt, since it was never there. Just beware and recheck before you leave---especially if you're an older adult. I hope they think about their own parents being "taken". Unkind people really take advantage. This is life. read more

I have dealt with this pharmacy for 15 years, off and on, and they have by far the WORST customer service of ANY pharmacy I've ever dealt with, and nobody that works at this store cares. Every time I get a notification that my prescription is ready I show up, and presto it's not ready or it's out of stock and like clockwork no one ever lets us know ahead of time. I usually have to make at least two trips to this pharmacy to get a successful prescription pick up. If you place a phone call to the store count on getting the same service; you will wait for a minimum of a half hour (I've waited for up to 53 minutes at a time.) To top it off, if you're on their text message notification service they literally send you tons of spam asking you to get vaccines and whatever else they're selling there. I find this unprofessional, because I never gave them my permission to use my phone number for marketing (or spam, as the case may be). I know that Walgreens company doesn't care about any of this stuff, or they would have made some changes long before now /when customers like me say something to them in person. But I thought I'd let other customers know what they're in for if they go to Walgreens Pharmacy. read more

Had all but one prescriptions transferred to CVS because this place is incompetent and constant issues, last couldn't be transferred according to them. Pharmacist Sara said she needed to call the doctor something to do with my insurance, even tho I'm a self pay. I told her I was going on vacation and needed it, I can go into seizures without it. She just nods vigorously and says okay, okay. Well, I come back and she says the prescription is now expired, WTF? She says I'll call the doctor for a refill, I said , " don't you dare, I'm not trying to extend this nightmare, You fail to mention it's going to expire when I was there before going out of town? "She says she called me, I bring up my list of incoming calls, that's a lie. Mind you this was the last refill and now Friday, can't get into the Dr. office till Monday if I'm lucky. We asked the Pharmacy for assistance and she kindly educated us on the product which was very helpful. Then another employee helped us locate the product hidden deep in the shelves. This is one of the better pharmacy in the area. It is super busy but I found the pharmacists to be efficient and all pleasant. When I needed an important prescription that was out of stock, the pharmacist recognized the urgency and called another Walgreens & transfer my prescription over for me. This was great service. Came to take a passport photo and they were SO EFFICIENT AND QUICK. I walked in with no appointment, flagged down the first employee (Josie) I saw, and she was able to help me within 5 minutes. They have a photo area via pull down screen/background and they take the photo with the nostalgic canon power shot point and shoot camera lol! They take the image and photoshop it so the crop/sizing is perfect and so that everything adheres to the guidelines. The employee was able to do everything within 10 minutes and I was basically in and out within 15 minutes! For $16, you get 2 prints of your passport photos. read more

This review is for the Pharmacy ONLY. As other reviews have stated, the Walgreens on Foothill next to Ralph's closed. Another one on Live Oak closed. My family has been with Walgreeens for 15+ years. So, it's very disappointing to know we Wii's be transferring all our scrips somewhere else. The reason: drive through here is awful. Plan to wait up to 45 minutes. I have never been here when I have NOT had to wait. We've waited up to 10 minutes beforE eVen being acknowledged. That's bad customer service. The staff is great when they finally get to you. Another problem, they promise a pick up time and then when you get there- the rx isn't ready. This has happened ooh multiple occasions in just a four week span. For one of my kidlet's scrips I had to call and go back five (5) YES 5 times! This is unexceptionable. We waited days and waisted time and gas. Do yourself a favor and take your RX somewhere else. read more

The worst. On multiple occasions they have confirmed the prescription is ready, only to go to the store and find that not only is it not ready, but they claim they haven't received the scrip. Called the doctor, only to learn it was sent days ago. This happens more often than not. Horrible customer service. Personally, I found them rude, but when my husband goes in, they are obsequious and apologetic. I switched pharmacies a long time ago, because there are better things to do than spend half a day or more waiting for an incompetent staff to complete a prescription you've already been told is ready and waiting. Not to mention finding better customer service elsewhere. You'll be happier elsewhere. And P.S. they refused to honor GoodRX discounts and told me they don't accept them, even though they are listed on GoodRX. When I called corporate, I was told that Walgreens does honor GoodRX. Monrovia, unfortunately, lacks a reliable, customer-friendly pharmacy - it must be something in the water (go figure!) This one is not an exception, of course. When your doctor sends the prescription they will tell you it's ready. Plot twist: it's not! They will have to do a bunch of typing first, only to tell you to wait and guess what... you wait... and wait... and wait until it's finally ready. At least here they will give it to you AT SOME POINT. Try to go outside of Monrovia (Duarte Target, etc.) and especially away from this pharmacy if you really need that prescription. read more

I have been here two days in a row for vaccinations and both days they kept me waiting over an hour WITH an appointment. They CONSTANTLY have problems with one prescription, I have to repeatedly call them, they fill it in the wrong place, the website says it's ready when it isnt. Staff is usually friendly/polite, and store and muse. selection is good. The problem, probably due to a staff shortage, is getting a phone call answered, especially in the pharmacy. First, one has to go through robot answering machine, which seems to have a hearing problem. My wife had to repeat the same choice several times, and getting louder with each try! Literally the worst pharmacy I have ever been to by far. Customer service is horrendous. If you can get past the lack of customer service skills, your next challenge is the fact your prescriptions will never be ready when you expect them. They constantly insist the prescriptions are at the other Walgreens on Huntington and Mountain but when pressed they miraculously appear. Then they ask you to come back in two hours. I have been coming to this Pharmacy for about 10 years. I have now transferred my prescriptions from Wallgreens to another pharmacy. Service used to be fine, but not anymore. There is a lot of waiting and the online system that tells you when your prescription will be ready, or even when you speak with a pharmacist that tells you your prescription is ready, it usually is not. My sense of this facility is that they are understaffed. This week was the last straw. I received a refill in Sept, that was supposed to be 90 pills, but I got only 60. I did not notice that until I began to run out of capsules and I was told there was an insurance payment issue because I was refilling a month early. I told the store manager about it and she REFUSED to do anything about it. She blamed the manufacturer because it was a manufacturer sealed bottle that said 90. I had to tell my doctor what happened, because he would need to write a prescription a month early. Fortunately for me, my insurance kicked in just at day 60 of the refill so I got the next 90 day refill. Again I received a manufacturer sealed bottle. I told the pharmacist about the previous issue with being shorted 30 capsules and asked if I could just count them right there. She said "these have already been verified." It was as if she was NOT hearing me. All I was asking for was a little concern. The previous bottle came the same way - sealed by the manufacturer. It would have been "verified" as well, but it still came with 60 pills. She did at least count the pills and confirm it was 90, which was good, but the damage to this business relationship had already been done. She said if it happens again, it is the manufacturer. Wallgreen's employees at this facility REFUSED to take any responsibility for me being shorted 30 pills, completely shifting blame to the manufacturer. It is relieving to me to be taking my business elsewhere, which is a shame. read more
