An odd Walgreens, to be sure. The staff is often unfriendly and generally not helpful. Strange for an location where they could do a very good business. The staff seems annoyed if asked to assist. The Pharmacy is even worse and appears very disorganized. Difficult to trust they'll get things right. Our vet's pharmacy is 10X more capable. Note to management: Either invest in hiring and training the right people, or give it up. Too many other places to go for these important and expensive items. Can't recommend your store. read more

This review is specifically for Clipper card transit passes. My employer provides me with paper Commute Checks that need to be added onto my Clipper card. Walgreens is one of the designated places that does this and I've been going to various Walgreens locations in SF near my office for close to a decade every month to do this. Never an issue. But, since they recently closed the two Walgreens closest my office, I firgured I'd try the Terra Linda location. It was not a success. "Manny S" (who claimed he was the store manager) spent about 10 minutes trying to do the transaction on numerous registers and couldn't make it work. I don't know if it was a computer issue or a "Manny issue", but he couldn't process the transaction. If he is the manager, hopefully Walgreens corporate is reading this and get him some better customer service training. When I asked if should just come back another time, he got quite curt with me for crossing him and afterward kept referring to me as "boss". I was thinking of switching my prescriptions to this location, but if this is the way the manager treats me for a very simply transaction, there is no chance of me using their pharmacy now. read more

I had to get my prescription filled on a Saturday night. There was just 1 pharmacist and 0 pharmacy technician. The pharmacist squinted to read my doc's squiggly handwriting and commented on it. He was friendly about it though. And very fast! Also picked up a 16 pack of AAA Duracell batteries for about $10. Sometimes, there are great deals at Walgreens. I don't know how, but my husband always manages to steer me away from the cosmetics area. Always. read more

I actually have to give this Walgreens their own review and 5 stars, believe you or not! I went there for passport photos, and they weren't taken right the first time around, so I went back the next day to re-do them and this very nice young lady took the new photos, was very patient and professional and made me feel like a valued customer - all positive traits in a customer service worker. The photos turned out great the second time around and of course she didn't charge me. So the 5 stars aren't exactly for Walgreens or what it represents, but exclusively for the very nice lady with long teal colored hair that helped me out at this location today (sorry I didn't catch your name). read more

Unforgettable Experience with dropping of fedex package and its disappearance. I dropped of a package 5 days ago. When I tracked the status it was showing that Fedex never picked it up. Came back to store, my package was sitting in one of the boxes that no one had an idea it was there. Then, one of the employees put it on the other shelf for Fedex to be picked up. Again, next day I checked the status and still was not picked up by FedEx. Went back to store and asked about the package. None of the employees took this seriously. They were laughing and saying that we are Walgreens not FedEx. We don't know where your package is. They received the package and must be responsible until FedEx picks it up. I called FedEx and they stated that the package was never picked up from that Walgreens. FedEx started investigation but not worth spending time on it. AVOID having business with that store. Very unprofessional employees. read more

This review is for the on duty pharmacist. Wednesday January 23 @ 9:30 am. The pharmacist was helpful, knowledgeable, empathetic and kind. I was asking a lot of questions about things pertaining to my root canal and she was very patient and commiserated with me. She's also gorgeous, perfect white teeth, slender and long blonde hair, she reminded me of the Barbie I bought my daughter Malibu Barbie Doctor! The worst. I have to get my prescription here because they're the only pharmacy that carries the random generic I take but the pharmacist made me wait for over an hour for my prescription because he didn't believe that either I or my DOCTOR knew enough about the drug I was picking up. I literally met with my doctor, we made a decision together, and I brought the signed prescription to the pharmacy and that wasn't good enough. I had to be late to work so this mansplaining fossil could talk down to me, and call my doctor to talk down to her too. read more

The pharmacy at the Walgreens at Northgate sucks. Poor customer service, the male pharmacist is the worst. When you approach the window he says "yes" not "can I help you", don't these people know we have a choice where we go??? I get these robo calls that my prescriptions are ready and when I get there they are never ready? So I decide I need to check before I go there so I call the pharmacy and get an automated answer that says "you have 5 prescriptions waiting" I go there and no I don't -- I tell the pharmacist this and explain to her what happens and that maybe I need to go to another pharmacy and she says "okay". Don't bother to order anything online for free pick up at the store, because you will have a big wait. You are instructed to go to the photo counter to pick up your order, but there is no one at the photo counter. An employee walks by and tells me to go to the front counter instead. So, I go there, and the woman at the front counter refuses to help me and tells me I have to go to the photo counter. Still, no one is at the photo counter. Another five minute wait at the unmanned photo counter. Another customer is also standing there, waiting to pick up photos. Eventually, I flag down the employee who told me to go to the front counter. She calls out to the front counter person to call someone to help me, and the front counter person finally does pick up the phone and call someone. That someone comes, and she finds my shipment for me. read more

I like that the register associates are quick to call for backup so you are not waiting long in line. They are polite and helpful.

I switched to this pharmacy because it is closest to my house. My doctors tried to phone in a Rx, and was put on hold in the pharmacy for forty minutes, a second call was made and she was on hold for 10 minutes, she gave up after that. She phoned me and I spoke with Damien the store manager, he told me it isn't uncommon to have that length of waiting for a doctor to call in. "The pharmacy is very busy. " all this took place today, not the first of the month. Hire more staff to support the business. read more

Do not go there! My locally owned pharmacy transferred a prescription there after they ran out of the prescribed drug. First, Walgreens denied knowing anything about the prescription. I walked back to my local pharmacy and got a hard copy of the fax they sent Walgreens. When I returned to Walgreens and showed the pharmacist the fax, he just said, "Oh." After that I waited almost 2 hours (1 hour and 55 minutes) to actually get the prescription. They kept telling me they would call me over the intercom when it was ready. They never called. Finally, I went up to the desk and reminded them I had been waiting almost 2 hours. They then got the drugs. If I had not needed the drugs urgently that day I would have walked out without them. I will never return. read more

Walgreens has a great selection of products. However, their staff is, about 9 times out of 10, surly, condescending, or just plain apathetic. I would shop a lot more there if my experience wasn't so soured by the checkout. A good alternative is RiteAid up the road. read more
