If I could give negative stars, I would. I stupidly thought you could fill my 2 prescriptions, bc you advertise EVERYWHERE that you accept Blue cross. My bad for assuming that meant mine. After waiting a totally unacceptable amount of time both at your drive through, and inside, i was told my plan wasnt covered. In hindsight, I should have demanded the written prescription to take elsewhere, rather than accepting your "no. they have to call to do a transfer, and we'll make them wait on hold for as long as you waited here." RUDE, SLOW and NO COMPASSION. A line of 10+ customers and a single rude lady working the counter. Not even a be with you in a moment or at least an attempt to get extra assistance. I asked if the drive thru was any better and the reply was just the same! Not to mention the lady in front of me her prescription was ready but they could not find it anywhere on their shelves! Having been a customer for a number of years, I've finally decided to switch to CVS. Walgreens can't seem to keep a profile of which meds are covered for the cheapest price (I'm on their drug plan) and often they'll charge the insurance price even when their own drug plan or AAA is cheaper. I've experienced longer wait times recently. CVS is cleaner and their personnel seem more engaged with customers. read more

If you're going to get your prescriptions here be prepared to wait in line for a very long time. ALWAYS call first and verify with the automated system that your prescription is ready before you get in line. You do NOT want to stand in that line twice. Oh my god.. I understand that Walgreens is a huge corporation and like just about all huge corporations it has incredible inefficiency, bureaucracy, greed, etc. Almost all of the employees I interact with at this store several times a week are very friendly and quite helpful. Generally the store has a good selection and is well-stocked (CVS wins for best selection, Rite Aid gets kudos for their awesome outdoor section and both get points for selling hard liquor, which Walgreens does not). The pharmacy department, however, is a total nightmare of corporate failure. I've found myself increasingly frustrated with the pharmacy's inability to fill prescriptions by the promised time, a minimum eight minute hold time on the phone most days, and lines spilling over into the cosmetics aisle at all times of the day and night. Recently, I found out that all emergency rooms in Santa Rosa send their after-hours prescriptions default to this Walgreens- explaining the often colorful crowd that frequents this pharmacy, especially in the later hours. I also found out that this is the ONLY 24-hour pharmacy in the city of Santa Rosa, and from what I can tell in all of Sonoma County. WOW. You'd think execs and regional managers for Walgreens and other drug stores would pick up on this information and maybe make another Walgreens pharmacy in Sonoma County 24-hour, or maybe capitalize on the need and make one of the CVS or other pharmacies 24-hour. Despite the fact that this Walgreens is singlehandedly fulfilling this HUGE need in our community, management somewhere along the chain has allotted them, from what I can tell, no more than one pharmacist and one tech maximum during graves. They're swamped most of the time during days and swings too, and rarely have enough people to provide adequate customer service. Wake up, corporate! You're working your employees to the bone and sacrificing customer satisfaction. Despite the close proximity to my home and the convenient hours for my schedule, I'm planning on switching to CVS or Rite Aid for my prescriptions. read more

Been using this pharmacy for 10 years. It's gotten progressively worse. The latest: had been getting a nice discount on a continuing prescription using GoodRx. A few months back, the Good Rx discount no longer available, replaced by "Walgreens prescription savings club" card costing $20/year, but discount less than before, with higher cost than Competitors who still accept GoodRx. Called to refill Rx last Saturday, voice message said ready Sunday morning. Went there Sunday afternoon, was told not ready, waiting for Doctor. Asked if they would call when ready, answer yes. It's now Friday, no call. Called Walgreens, and tried to contact via Walgreens Aop on my iPhone, no joy. The want to verify ID with my phone number, but don't recognize the phone number I've had on file with them for years. So can't even inquire. If I go in person, after waiting in a long line, I usually get a pharmacy clerk who has trouble speaking or understanding English. It's over; I'm going elsewhere. read more

This is the WORST pharmacy I have ever been to, doesn't even deserve 1 star. We had my husbands pain management doctor send his regular prescription for pain medication sent to this pharmacy because they had the brand that works best for him. upon getting there the pharmacist told my husband that this medication was for people with injuries and that he was just a dope addict and she would not fill the prescription or any prescription for him. My husband has had 5 back surgeries, has had most of his back fused, has rods and screws in his back and just had a double hernia surgery. WHO is she to say he doesn't need them and won't fill a prescription for him now or ever. Don't ever go there!!! read more

For reasons I'll never understand, our insurance awarded Walgreen's their pharmacy contract a year ago. From my last review until now, there has been no improvement in the way they treat their pharmacy customers. My most recent encounter was with Leo, who was horribly passive aggressive. I am always friendly and professional and did nothing to him to warrant this behavior towards me. I got so much run around and he directed the techs to lie to me saying things like "the pharmacist is still working on it" when in truth, it had been completed hours earlier. Leo set a specific time to release the Rx. With our health needs, our insurance has paid thousands of dollars to Walgreens. With ONE encounter, Leo has seen to it that we change pharmacies and give our hefty insurance dollars to another business. Hope you're happy, Leo, and I hope Walgreen's gives you your walking papers. this is the worst place i ever encounter for customer service. my husband order photo print online and when he pick it up on the time it was supposed to be picked up it was not even done. he waited long enough for them to start printing and the worst of it the order was not complete. we paid for $100.37 to be exact for the metal panel pic, a wood panel and a regular one but we did not get the wooden panel so i called them for 3 times i waited for almost 20 mins every call and they just hang up on me. nobody there wants to answer the phone. read more

I tried to get through to the pharmacy twice, and each time waited on the phone 15 minutes while a voice told me there was one ahead of me. It NEVER was answered! Pharmacist was rude tonight, has zero customer service skills. She said she would get someone to help me I waited and waited. She would come back on the line and place me on hold without saying anything or giving me a chance to say anything. After 15 mins of this I hung up and called the store, someone finally answered after 20 rings then he says oh let me transfer you to customer service I'm on the register. I hold for ten minutes the same man with an accent answers "customer service" I was livid and said I can't believe this, he says one moment I'll get someone. Finally I spoke to a very helpful male who said his name was Dakota and gave me the information I needed. The pharmacist needs customer service training she doesn't know how to deal with customers, believe me if we weren't sick she wouldn't be needed. read more

Things have gotten better at Walgreens. It's a few minutes from my house and I have noticed quite a few progressive changes. I like the cleaniness, organization, drive up pharmacy, and the store is opened 24 hours. They have a ton of skin care lines to choose from. I recommend this store. Absolutely every bad review this pharmacy has received can be verified by me. I'v always used Safeway and found them to be excellent and helpful. I Changed to Walgreens only because my husband is a cancer patient and some of his meds are very expensive. But I'm willing to pay higher prices for most of them (not the 400.00/week one) in order to avoid the confusion, long waits and inaccurate customer service. I might add that my prescription drug coverage is Walgreens AARP. When dropping off a prescription I was told 20 minutes and, again 20 minutes when i asked again. Came back in 20 minutes and was told it was in the safe and the pharmacist had to unlock it, then, that they had to call the doctor. I sat down and was assured they would call me when it was ready. After 1 hour I stuck my head around the consultation window and said to the pharmacist have you been able to reach the doctor? Oh she said it is ready, but no one told me so. I could go on and on but suffice to say that I truly detest the thought of returning to this pharmacy! read more

I just had my prescription held hostage! The pharmacist informed me that my dosage was WAY too high(everyone in line could hear), & they would have to "talk" to my doctor! Not only was I mortified, but dumbfounded as well! I had only switched back to Walgreen's because my new insurance company wanted me to go to "preferred purveyors", so since a somewhat(!) nearby(I live near S.R./Windsor border) Walgreen's is 24hr., I switched. I asked if that information shouldn't be private between me & my doctor, & was told that the pharmacy was going to do this next month also & ask about the treatment course!!(So now they're second-guessing the doctors?? I want to see their medical degree & license,please!!) After I was informed that I was basically, a "druggie" & beneath contempt, I googled " holding my Rx hostage" & got all sorts of interesting information!! [Try it!!] Now, I switched insurance companies & pharmacies in January or February of 2017-so Walgreen's has filled these selfsame prescriptions for AT LEAST 2 months . . .NOW I understand that if I hunt around for ANOTHER pharmacy, I could be labeled as one of those people who "shop" pharmacies, & may not be able to get my prescriptions filled at all!! I'm going to contact my insurance company to ask if I could PLEASE switch back & to ask all chronic pain sufferers & their families to BOYCOTT Walgreen's completely(!), at least until their heinous pharmacy policies are rescinded . . . I have had issues with this pharmacy every single time I've had to fill a prescription. Unfortunately living in Rankin Valley it is the closest pharmacy, and having a child it is nice to know that there is a 24 hour pharmacy. However when I don't even receive a notification that an allergy medication is ready, and I have to call you, and than a week later it is back on the shelf, because in fact it has been ready for almost 20 days????? and I need to wait another 30 minutes before it will be filled? One, it is a nasal spray and inhaler. What is needing to be filled. 2, I never received a notification, you could try and be polite and accommodating instead of arguing. 3. Get it together. your drive-through's are constantly broken, and when they aren't it takes longer there than going inside! I have kept my mouth shut and dealt with numerous instances almost every prescription refill for the 10 years I have lived here! read more

Well, I have got some mixed feelings about this place. My wife's prescription was e-mailed to them and somehow they never got it. I kept going in person, calling, going in person again to pick it up. They kept saying they didn't have it there & it must have been a different Walgreens where I was supposed to get it... I went back to the doctor again and they wouldn't even let the doctor know that I had not received the medicine from them so he couldn't write up another prescrition until they confirmed that I hadn't picked up the original prescritption that he wrote. So a week and a half later, I finally went in person, and they finally found my wife's prescription. At that point, the pharmacist there told me abotut their discount program in which I would save $20 on all refills, so I signed up for it. It was wuick, easy and saved me $20 on the spot and each refill thereafter. read more

This Walgreens location is the worst ever. I have experienced all the foregoing complaints about the Rx dept., in addition to their usually being completely out of stock of my prescription with a 3-4 day wait. I also use a non-rx behind-the-counter controlled decongestant, and whereas they can swipe your drivers license at all other pharmacies, Walgreens still has to HAND ENTER all the info on your license, hunting and pecking, taking 5 minutes! While I waited, the woman standing next to me told me she brought in a paper written prescription and they lost it! At the photo, a clerk left an open jug of water sitting on the counter behind a revolving watches display, and of course a customer knocked it over. The clerk was angry about this. Also in photo, I picked up 185 photos I'd had printed and the clerk rang it up, and then left the two envelopes of photos and the receipt laying on the counter and walked off -- no thank you, kma, would you like a bag, nothing. The clerks at the front are friendly and capable, the clerks in photo are surly, the clerks in the pharmacy act like the walking dead. Like the other commenters, it's so close to my house, but not really worth it; I have to change back to Longs/CVS. Oh, yeah, another thing - their rewards program - when they or I remember to ask at the checkstand, I have to continually tell them that I haven't received a card, so they say to enter my phone number - to date, I do not have one single point in my account, so you can forget that advertisement on tv. I went to my online account to try to order a card, but there's no such option available. read more

Worst pharmacy in santa rosa. My mom had surgery and needed her meds, the doc had to call it in 3 times before they actually recognized the prescription, after several visits and phone calls on my end. Very very frustrating and the whole time my mom was in pain. It took over 12 hours to get me prescription. The shift lead, shaleena even said she would call me back after she did some investigating (investigating in filling a prescription? ??????) And she never did. When I called back hours later she had gone home, my prescription was still "lost" and I had to start completely over with someone else. This pharmacy staff is also incredibly rude.
